2201  Other / Off-topic / Re: Higher education, is it so important? on: February 12, 2021, 09:51:01 AM
I am On for education but Higher? i am a college graduate but my career is far from my course now , so for me it is still the experience and the skill you have that will bring you to success.
with dedication and of course Faith and perseverance .

If there are good reasons to further yours, I would encourage you to do so... It has to be the right education and not necessarily what the world wants you to be.
Lots of people go for higher education for wrong reasons. They do it just for the prestige, for mere paper qualifications, to find better jobs etc. Not everyone cares about improving on his/her talents or improve doing things they are passionate about. I would rather further mine to improve my skills/knowledge and to be able to solve problems better. And I kind of prefer to be  self employed rather getting employed in companies or organizations that don't interest me, no matter what they pay.
2202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Government Rules Mean No More Gambling Sponsorship on: February 12, 2021, 09:18:09 AM

What they are trying to convey IMO is that, you can still enjoy the gambling without betting, these two does not necessarily come together.

Are they not almost related? IMO, I feel gambling is indirectly betting because they both consist risk. Also, anyone who is gambling has greater chances of betting.
That being said, I feel the reason why the government wants to cut down on betting sponsorship is that, those behind it make a lot of money on the expenses of others and also manipulates game. Though, I feel the better way to have gone is for the government to regulate or limit certain things in it, instead of completely stopping it.

They are not, because you could Bet without Gambling on Stock price for example. Gambling in Betting/Prediction Market is a different thing entirely... it's simply taking big betting risk. This is part of the reasons I think the regulator may be doing the right thing if their true intention is to prevent the advertisement of things that encourage big risk or risk atall. The betting should  really address the problem and hope they are allowed to advertise again.

2203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 12, 2021, 08:59:47 AM
Ofcourse, it should. But I think what would really matter the most is knowing the teams properly and factors that may affect their chances in order to be able to make better predictions.
I believe if you could gather and properly analyze enough data/info on future matches and the teams involved, you will be able to increase your chances of predicting the matches right. I believe this will likely give a more consistent result than just guessing.
2204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What determines the price of an ALTCOIN ? on: February 11, 2021, 05:21:36 PM
Simply demand and supply. The coin with higher price probably has high demand. Staking kind of contribute alot to the demand. If there is more demand for a coin than there is available to sell, the coin rises in price. If there are more supply to sell than demand, it falls.
2205  Economy / Economics / Re: Reserve Bank of India - Most confused financial entity right now! on: February 11, 2021, 04:28:20 PM
I don't think any country on earth can successfully prevent people from using cryptocurrency. They probably still don't understand crypto or know what they are talking about. You could comfortably use true cryptocurrency in any country on earth once its has been built in certain way that'll make censorship and confiscation of ones asset very difficult.
They have been so used to fiat that they fail to understand the potential of cryptocurrency.
You could use crypto comfortably and safely even in North Korea once it's been properly built.
2206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what gives tokens printed from thin air any long term sustainable value? on: February 11, 2021, 04:11:08 PM
That's one of the main problems with such projects. The founders seem to have too much power over the network and expect to be seen as decentralized.
Their model is flawed and potentially harmful to decentralization. Sometimes I wonder if they really understand what they are doing and its future consequences
2207  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it normal to not want to work at all? on: February 11, 2021, 03:27:59 PM
Your post is funny.
What is your dream job by the way, would you mind? Why do you consider it your dream job?
Well, I think whatever you spend lots of time on should be something that develops you to be a good & useful person to society. If you spend a lot of time watching TV and playing video games, they should be things that develop you  to serve others and the society you live in, otherwise the attitude of pleasing or satisfying yourself alone could be considered selfish and unprofitable.
You need to bear fruit that's useful to others and not just yourself.
2208  Other / Off-topic / Re: Higher education, is it so important? on: February 11, 2021, 10:59:36 AM
Higher jobs require higher degree of education. I still want to go to college and have another degree with the one that I really wanted which is architecture.

In my opinion, it should be "higher job requires people who understand the problem, can solve it the right way with good results.
I would simply employ those that meet this simple criteria... test and employ them if they qualify.
I'd consider the degree important but not compulsory.
2209  Economy / Economics / Re: Need of the Hour : Tackle Joblessness on: February 11, 2021, 10:35:46 AM
Well, I used to encourage the kind of things you want for the developed countries but recently changed my mind after having fair understanding why the society I'm currently living in behave the way they behave while being somewhat resistant to "change or new things". I learned alot from this behavior (or way of life) and its benefits in this pandemic period.
I won't be surprised if they are neglected by certain governments due to this way of life, or the governments do not understand how to develop them the right way without affecting a lot of the good part of the culture.
2210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any blockchain app for decentralized messaging on: February 11, 2021, 09:49:51 AM
Is there any blockchain app which can be used for messaging if a regime blocks all internet? In particular ones which use phones as nodes.

I like Signal, but I am not sure if it is 100% decentralised. The privacy level is high as compared to other messaging platforms. I don't know if they use phones as nodes because I do not understand the technical side of it. If you have not used it before, try it out and see if it meet your criteria.
Guess I have an idea of what Op is looking for but I'm not sure it exist yet.
I have heard about applications people can use in a network without the internet... more like a mesh network. It uses individual phones/devices that act as relay nodes to exchange data via wifi or bluetooth.
I think something like that could work really well if you could spread some sort portable & water-resistant "Super-Node" devices to store all network data in strategic locations, within the community that forms the network. There can be smaller nodes that help distribute data to other nodes and the supernodes
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: February 11, 2021, 09:18:55 AM
hahah it really depends, sometimes the higher the risk the higher the loss.
never a bad idea to remind that gamblers can (and sometimes do) lose all their money.

regarding heart attacks: the best way to mitigate it still good eating and exercising habits.
*I once read an article that good eating and regular exercise do not make a person avoid the risk of heart disease...
the point is just to avoid things that can trigger a shock. I have a neighbor who has never had a history of heart disease but died of a heart attack just because he heard his child divorced. it would be better if old people had avoided the lottery.

I think the body needs to be strengthen and be in good working condition in order to be able handle shock effectively otherwise people should be more careful with things that could shock them or others.  Lots of things could weaken the body gradually in life, more like how certain cars are built to handle certain level of shock but get weaken as they age.

2212  Other / Off-topic / Re: Get drinkable water from rain on: February 10, 2021, 06:09:13 PM
Interesting.
How about boiling the water after collection and the silver part in order to be extra sure? Or you think this is not necessary and the water will be very safe to drink?
I have read about killing germs with copper, don't know about silver. I wonder how effective both will be in keeping water free from germs.
2213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin is like planting trees on: February 10, 2021, 05:03:39 PM
And no amount is too little to plant... You still reap what you sow in proportion to your investment, or in proportion to how many trees you can afford to plant. The more the trees , the more the fruits .

It's never too late to plant yours.
2214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Co-Founder of Zynga launches a blockchain project. Beta is live!! on: February 10, 2021, 04:18:09 PM
I hope people joined Gala Games and earned some Gala back when I posted in April. It is expanding rapidly and now a top 200 coin. When Mirandus, their most ambitious game launches Q4 this year, it will easily be in top 50 coins!! Read all the updates here: https://medium.com/@siddartha1492/from-the-co-founder-of-zyanga-farmville-comes-a-new-game-and-this-time-a-blockchain-game-88be926f39c4

Kind of game I'd like to spend time on especially if the properties in the virtual world also exist in the real world and property owners in virtual also own the exact copy in the physical... If a property is sold or rented in the virtual, it's also sold or rented in the physical.

I hope they make it fun for everyone.
2215  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19, Lockdown and repercussions on: February 10, 2021, 03:43:43 PM
The town I live in doesn't seem to be under lock down but prices of things have gone up alittle  except maybe for agric products and things made locally by small & medium scale businesses. I think the presence of very competitive small businesses helps alot otherwise things probably would have been worse. When the lockdown was initially introduced, they seem to be the only few ones that successfully bypassed it to feed and serve customers.
2216  Other / Off-topic / Re: Something Important To Know About about Betting and Prediction on: February 10, 2021, 10:37:20 AM
Interesting conversation on Safe Betting and Gambling. Read through the bolded part especially👇.
Sometimes I wonder why those who define these words ignore obvious issues. A little bit of such confuse is dangerous for the mind if not unlearned.
Another example of definition issues by online dictionary is the calling of Church a Physical Building rather than The Gathering of Believers. Humans really are the Church according to the scripture. It's bothers me alot when church is called man-made building while it's not. It seems to be seen that way by People who depend on the law and the understanding of the world rather than what the scripture calls her.
I suspect the Betting/Prediction World was handled in similar manner by the dictionaries. Or maybe they just want to call it what the law or certain groups call it for the sake of obedience?

It's a good idea If it's a sponsorship by companies that encourage Gambling (or unsafe/irresponsible betting).
Responsible/safe betting companies/business could be accepted.
By the way, I wonder what companies/businesses they wish to start accepting. If they choose very safe companies/businesses, I think the betting companies could greatly improve their standards in order to qualify, by making sure they provide  very useful and safe products/services to their betting customers.
if the gambling  is unsafe or irresponsible it will be risky if for the footbal team to accept it because they will have a bad reputation if the fans and the whole world sees it  but legit and responsible gambling cant stand a chance to be accepted no matter how much adjustment and improvements they are going to do because the government already declare the ban but they can hope that the mind of the government will change in the future .

Is it possible to have "legit and responsible gambling"? Can you say "Gamble with what you can afford to lose/risk" ? This doesn't make much sense because gambling is associated with taking big risk...which is kind of irresponsible considering that the risk could be reduce to the bare minimum for customers, and to qualify it as Safe Betting.

On a betting risk percentage scale(for inexperienced bettor), I would call 40% to 100%= Very risky bet (or gambling),  10% to 40% = Risky Bets, While 5% down is safe bets.

Ofcourse, I'm aware that online dictionaries define certain Betting /Prediction Market as gambling but that doesn't make sense when thesame word is used for big risk while couple of the predictions market may be practicing safe and useful bets. They have to be clear what gambling really is and shouldn't be linked to taking big/dangerous risk

2217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 10, 2021, 10:06:14 AM
This is not the first topic of this kind... to take a loan to invest it, in this case in Bitcoin! I am sure some people did it, and if they chose a good moment for that now they are on horse, they can payout that loan and they book nice profit on top of that!
I say what I always say, it's risky to take a loan for any kind of investment, it's something you do after you tried everything else! In the same time without risk there's no gain, so if you plan to do take a loan, be sure that you checked everything, and have some backup plan! Of course, try to find a good moment for investing in crypto, and I am not sure that now is a good moment for buying, especially with loaned money!

Ofcourse.
I really don't like taking loans for investments(even if I'm sure of profit), not to talk of  taking loans for things that won't be profitable. Will invest in something I'm sure will be profitable to enable me pay back and multiple the profit, but I wouldn't discourage people from getting loans if they have done their homework like you probably stated and are sure of earning profits from their investments. I believe this is part of what lenders should know about borrowers for the sake of the borrower and the lender.

2219  Economy / Gambling / Re: Tru.Bet - A Peer to Peer Sportsbet Exchange on: February 10, 2021, 08:41:28 AM
I guess that is peer-to-peer betting on centralized platform, or on platform you probably control?  Just trying to understand how risky this is considering you are on a newbie account with no reputation yet.
I like the idea of p2p betting. I've probably seen services that offer it here before...what would make yours a little unique is if it is decentralized.
Hope you promote responsible and safe betting though. People shouldn't be encouraged to take big/dangerous betting risks with their money & time.
2220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to buy Bitcoin? on: February 09, 2021, 04:35:41 PM
First of all, I'd invest what I can afford to risk. It doesn't sound like you can afford to risk that much considering it'll be  borrowed money you probably are not sure of paying back.. By the way, I wonder what financial institution lends money without any sort of collateral, assurance or guarantee that borrowers will back. A secure source of income with sufficient pay would've lessen the risk abit for the lender and you.
Still I wouldn't invest everything in Bitcoin.
