RESULTS from the Carabao Cup quarter-final games played this evening:

Well rematch clauses are usually put in by the champ as a failsafe if they lose but they both have belts in this case so they probably don't need one, though both will likely want a chance to win their belts back should they lose. I'm sure if it's a good fight or even a close one people will want to see it again so they can probably easy make it again anyway. On the flipside both Fury and Usyk may not want to rematch if they win as there will be bigger fights and other belts to win so they might not want to be contractually obligated to go again so it's a catch 22. Rematch clauses can be annoying when they're forcing fighters to have two and sometimes even three fights which just holds the entire division up for a year and sometimes even more. Speaking of maybe three fights when it comes to rematch clauses, Fury and Warren are looking to have three fights on 2023 which means ( according to media reports) back up your comments that there will not be a rematch clause when Fury takes on Usyk. It seems as though Fury wants to fight Usyk and after that face Joyce who happens to be mandatory challenger for the WBO belt. The final boxer for the third fight has not been mentioned but Joshua has been ruled out. As much as I admire Usyk for his technical skills and boxing brain, I cannot see him beating Fury by way of knockout or TKO. If Usyk wins it has to be on a points decision and it will probably not be a unanimous one because the judges will end up messing it up similar to awarding Wilder a draw against Fury in their first fight. Still, it is a boxing ring with two brilliant boxers fighting for a place in sporting history therefore anything can happen and either could win. =====================I wanted to bring this to the attention of those reading this thread that there is a free lottery with a $50 prize for the winner. Rashford scoring twice in their 3-0 win over Charlton after coming on as a substitute was more proof he is enjoying playing again. He suffered a serious dip in form over the last season but he is looking like a world class player again. He will be offered a new contract but it seems the club is reluctant to break £250,000 per week barrier for any player. As for Newcastle, they have to win their semi-final before they get to the final and there is no guarantee they can do it. They might have to wait longer before winning their first major trophy since 1955. @JollyGood what a run Rashford is having, and I’m surprised at this because there was a rumour at the start of the season that he would be sold and now the club better offer him some good wages and extend his contract before some big club distracts him with a better offer.
Lastly Newcastle definitely deserves a trophy for the way they have been playing, but as a Manchester United fan I can’t wish against my club hence if they both reach the finals then it’ll be really difficult for me to just cheer for my beloved club as part of me will always know that even Newcastle deserves to win this trophy. |

Southampton vs Manchester City Manchester United and Newcastle United won their quarter-final games last night and both are through to the semi-finals. I would expect Manchester City and Nottingham Forest to join them by winning their games tonight. Newcastle will definitely win one trophy this season, I trust this current squad and their determinations. They have been so solid this season. It's obvious that money has a lot to do in football. Ever since the Arabic money entered Newcastle the team has changed with the kind of quality players they brought in.
Winning, Leicester by 2nill is not a surprised to me, I really don't want Newcastle to play Manchester united in the semi finals. I'm scared as man UTD fan
Newcastle have been knocked out of the FA Cup and are not going to win the Premier League therefore the Carabao Cup is their only realistic opportunity to win a trophy but they have to will have to face Manchester United and probably Manchester City before they can win it therefore I cannot say they will definitely win a trophy this season. Having said that I like your confidence in them  I really hope that Newcastle will win this one. They are really playing good and they have a good streak in the Premiership. The problem is that they will probably face Man City in the semi final and that will be a though game for them to win. But if they continue with great games, I guess they can win. They last game they played in Premiership ended in a draw with six goals so I expect a good game in the semi final. Newcastle United have surpassed their own expectations this season. If they did not win a trophy but ended the season in a Champions League spot they would gladly accept it but they are so close to winning a first major trophy after 54 years therefore they have to go all out to try to win their semi-final game and make it to the final. |

The WBC belt belongs to Fury and they cannot push him to fight their number one contender or threaten to remove his belt because he already fought in December. The issue of potentially losing belts is down to Usyk he holds several of them but in order to avoid mandatory number contenders for each belt he needs to fight soon. If they do not get the fight agreed to take place by March or April there could be issues where the WBO forces Usyk to fight their number one contender and at the same the WBA could do the same. Usyk needs to get this contract issue sorted out soon before things start to complicated to the point where he could be stripped of some of his titles before he fights Fury. We want to see the winner of the fight being crowned undisputed heavyweight holding all the unified titles. Meanwhile, the IBF already canceled its mandatory order for Filip Hrgovic's title shot which means Usyk is now free to fight Fury without losing his IBF belt. I haven't heard yet from the WBA, WBC, and WBO but most likely they will do the same. AFAIK the WBO also has its interim champ Joe Joyce who's supposed to be next too but apparently, Joyce is also promoted by Frank Warren the same promoter of Fury, it should not be a problem I believe. |

Charlton played well and kept positive throughout most of the game but eventually the Rashford substitution ended any hope they had of equalising. He two goals after coming on as a sub. Manchester United are through to the semi-finals.
Newcastle United have not won a major trophy for 54 years but they beat Leicester City 2-0 to reach the semi-finals. Could this be their first major trophy in over half a century?

Manchester United is on the winning side of the match. They control the ball on the field from the stats of the match Manchester United has the total of 1 shorts on target, and shorts on off target is 5 while Charlton Athletic was 1/1. On the ball possession, Charlton Athletic was 27 while Man U was 73. And Manchester United goakepper is good. These are first half stats of the game. But let watch out the second half of the game to confirm the real win of the match.

Yea a point is better than none, so up next is a London derby with Tottenham, many things are at stake in this match dropping further points in this game will see Manchester city close in on them at the top of the table, it's a derby so let's not forget about the bragging rights in London is also at stake and Arsenal are away haven won the reverse fixture last year at the Emirate stadium.
It's going to be s hard one for arsenal as Tottenham won't be an easy ride for table topping arsenal, I think they will settle for a draw as I don't see arsenal going with all three points. With any derby game, there is so much more than points at stake. Reputation, bragging rights and pride take priority therefore even the underdog comes out on top regularly. In the case of the North London derby, it will be a tough one to call but Arsenal have momentum on their side. The problem with Chelsea now is not just Coach, Chelsea really need to work on their defense line, the pairing of Koulibaly and Thiago Silver is really a big problem considering Silver’s age. If care is not taken Tuchel might end up staying longer than Potter and i think the Absence of Ngolo Kante at the mid field is also a problem to the team. Therefore Chelsea board needs to look into their defense line and take some decisions. They need an overhaul in defence. They need young players coming through the ranks or they need to buy big to try to control the damage their defence is causing. They are not exactly scoring goals for fun either and their midfield has not been solid. Chelsea are in big trouble. Sacking Potter would make Boehly look stupid after the long contract he signed just a few months ago, it would be harsh and make no sense to sack a manager who is in his first transfer window with the club, I wish Boehly would give him some time to finish his project. With almost all of the first team players out, it's difficult to get a good result with the players we have. The Chelsea job is always the most difficult, and the fans are impatience.
Potter and Boehly share the same business model, which is why he was hired. Potter could fill the vacant DOF position if things don't work out with him. Lol I wish it happened because he would be more effective in that position Boehly should never have sacked Tuchel and then installed Potter with so much fanfare saying he was a long term replacement and was someone who would not get sacked this season even they failed to make a Champions League finish in the top four. Having said that, Potter is way out of his depth, he should never have been appointed Chelsea manager. |

To my knowledge there has been no announcement about the fight contract being signed. All that has happened has been Fury and Usyk both saying they agree in principle to fight each other next with an estimated date to be March 2023. The last I read was the Fury team had sent a contract to the Usyk team and it was being considered ( and that was two days ago). Wait...What...The contract isnt signed yet? And this fight is only a talk right now? I thought they have a date and a place already. Then it will take months of talking, months of preparation, AJ might get involved again. Brrr... We might get another half a year or year without an interesting heavyweight boxers challenge. I think we are far away from this fight to happen. But, if this fight really happens, I believe Fury would just crash Usyk with his mass. Usyk would land more, but will get more damage. It will be either a doctors stoppage or UD by Fury. |

Hopefully the deal can be finalised and they can sign an actual contract soon. This doesn't seem like a difficult fight to get made. It seems like Fury and Usyk's camps have been on the same page before negotiations even started so there's probably not many sticking points and I think they agreed to 50/50 a while back. If the fight is to go ahead in March they'll probably get this thing signed and announced very soon. Both of them want to get in the ring and take each other on. They both know what is at stake here and they are both willing to whatever it takes to get a chance at becoming undisputed heavyweight champion. Yeah, you can't afford to leave it up to the judges these days as they often have terrible opinions or biases come into play. I think this could be a really boring fight and if Fury doesn't get a KO I could see Usyk winning it on points due to him being very defensive and those sorts of fights can often get them the win. I'm sure Fury knows this but it's not going to be easy to get the KO. Fury could tire him out with this size and weight advantage though. I wonder if there will be a rematch clause? I did not read anything about a rematch clause being added to the contract but they are fairly standard practice nowadays and are inserted in to almost all contracts. For both fighters, it makes sense to add it. As for judges, you only have to look at what happened when Fury fought Wilder for the first time. Granted Fury the canvas and seemed to be on the verge of losing before miraculously getting up and dominating the fight for final couple of rounds but Fury should have been way ahead on all three scorecards yet it was awarded as a draw. -------------- There is a $50 prize in a free lottery for the member that has the correct outcome for the Fury vs Usyk fight. This comment is not about a particular incident but just a generic personal opinion.
There will always be a debate about whether signature campaign managers should hold the funds or whether an escrow should be used to facilitate the process in order to mitigate any potential scams. Having an escrow does not necessarily mean a scam cannot take place but it adds a further of protection. It can backfire if the escrow decides to steal but there is always a risk no matter which way these matters of business are conducted.
