2241  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Few Steps To Avoid Losses In Trading. on: May 07, 2022, 12:49:43 PM
I like your summary of trading tips, it's very useful for any new trader. Especially the link between taking risks and making a profit is very important. Without risks there are no returns. Any investment that offers returns higher than the savings account at our bank will involve risks. Basically taking risks is what brings us returns. That is also what makes the difference between a good and a bad trader, to know what kind of risks go take and when it's the best opportunity to sell again. Another thing is that a loss is not always the same, there is difference between realised and unrealised losses. If there is a general market drop, sending all prices down then it could be better to just sit out the short term correction and avoid paying too many transaction cost.
2242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Final! on: May 07, 2022, 10:56:11 AM
What a final this is going to be in 1.5 weeks, both of the underdogs teams managed to prevail and beat much stronger opponents. Who would have thought 2 months ago that the final will be Eintrach Frankfurt vs Rangers. I lost a little bit of money betting on RB Leipzig this week, somehow I thought they would make it to the finals. For the bookies Leipzig was the favourite to win the finals this year. Good for Frankfurt though, I think for them Rangers is an easier opponent than Leipzig. The atmosphere is going to be awesome in the match, both teams are hyped for the win and have strong support from their fans. I will definitely go with Frankfurt for winning the finals now.
2243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: May 07, 2022, 05:52:58 AM
In my opinion the biggest factor preventing a global adoption of Bitcoins are politicians. They are the ones who actually loosen or tighten regulation, and can make a real difference by having a second legal currency accepted in the whole country. The first step would be to remove the uncertainty in some countries. As long as there are no clear laws that protect investors from losing their coins, many will hold back money that they would invest otherwise in cryptos. Scammers are not such a big issue because they have been always around. In the past they focused more on scams using fiat money, or Internet gift cards. The success of crypto currencies is what brought Scammers into the crypto world.
2244  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: avoid scam telegram groups , find useful tools and channels on: May 05, 2022, 07:56:05 AM

We gathered all those groups in one place, we bought their subscriptions and invested big money but to find which groups are good and which ones are scammers.
in this time We have found many groups which are really reliable and have some influence on market from whom You can benefit and make right desicion and trades based on their outlook on market and Given Fundamental and Technical analysis on The Signal ( long or Short, or The Coin ,like GMT , APE We had recently)

That is really nice of you to make a big summary of all the telegram groups. Unfortunately scammers love telegram these days, not sure why but I constantly get strange offers on telegram. Best is to be very critical with all the free information and links to good website being offered. Even in the best telegram groups there are some users who are just trying to get free information about other users and try to take advantage of them. I stopped to listen to trading tips from telegram for some time now. It is a good place to communicate with others and get some ideas from. But I would not trust blindly again some person I don't know, lost too much money like that in the past. At least some basic research on my own before doing a new trade is mandatory.
2245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC cycles and super cycles on: May 04, 2022, 06:49:35 AM
According to the article, the cycles or super ciles if they break will be beneficial for BTC, then if a super cycle is fulfilled? How should we currently? How do you miss the Bullish trend cycle, but there is not yet .. What is missing? Are world events that do not allow the behavior that came from the accumulation cycle for a couple of years?

I am not really familiar with the term "super cycle". How long does such a super cycle usually last? Or is it just the general direction of a coin? Cycles and trends are pretty common in all types of asset classes. Traders have been using technical analysis to identify cycles since the 70/80s in the stock market. The same characteristics we can find in the crypto markets. Right now I don't think we are in a bull cycle because the world is still very cautious about the Russia-Ukraine war. As long as there are major conflicts in the world I would expect to remain in a sideways trend. The best way to identify such cycles and trends are using indicators from technical analysis. Looking at key numbers that take mean reversion into consideration will show when the short term trend differs from the long term trend - then we will see a shift in the cycle.

Less than a week to go for the PGL Mayor 2022 in Antwerp. Getting really hyped about the nice CSGO matches coming up in the next weeks. There will be a lot of betting opportunities to make some profit. Also need to buy the viewer pass to get all the souvenir packages.  Already on Monday there quite a few good games happening. Some low risk bets are probably Astralis vs IHC, should be an easy win for Astralis; Vitality vs Complexitiy, should be a good win for Astralis; and ENCE vs 9z seems also very one sided for ENCE. Payouts are not so big for these games because the top teams are facing the underdogs. The best match on the first day will be Liquid vs G2, both are pretty strong team and the match could go either way. I will likely put some money down for G2 though, they played very good against Liquid in the IEM Katowice 2022.
2247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 03, 2022, 01:16:14 PM
Well that is very unfortunate for you, but i also have to say that it was totally your own fault, as you already said, because you did not follow your own rules and in the end you bet an amount of money that was very significant to you. I don't know if this will help you but you need to be aware that it is a very common thing that happened to you here and this happens to thousands of gamblers each and every day. They lose a bet, they are very sad or angry about that and they want to get that lost money back by betting even more and then they lose again and so on and so on. This is where the casinos make a lot of money. So you always need to be in control of yourself. Just learn from that experience for the next time.

Even the best gambling strategy can fail, there is no guaranteed win. To remain profitable in gambling requires some luck. Our emotions and mindset can of course influence our profits a large deal as well. I saw a good friend of mine completely lose it a roulette table 10 years ago. He was very disciplined all night and stuck to his strategy. He was up quite a lot of money but didn't stop, eventually he started losing money and should have just taken a break. But he got so focused on the game and waa convinced his numbers where coming next. It was really bizarre to see him keep betting more risky, the more money he lost. In the end he lost it all and was devastated. That was such a good lesson for me to never focus everything on one game and taking breaks to clear the mind is important. It's also very important to learn from our mistakes. Given that the OP made a thread here about his mistakes, I assume that he will keep it in his mind and won't forget it fast. Making mistakes is part of life and will be hurtful, but the real trouble starts if we keep repeating past mistakes. Just look at it as a few you had to pay to not do the same mistake again in the future. Thinking too much about missed opportunities is not fruitful for our future.
2248  Economy / Economics / Re: Share your Money management strategy on: May 03, 2022, 12:46:29 PM
The first and also most import rule for me about money management is: spend less money each than you earn. Only if we have some free money each month to save we can start investing, trading or gambling. For me the best way to do that is budgeting my income and expenses each week. There are quite a few Apps out there who help with that, but I prefer to use an excel sheet. With that I summarise my expenses per month and year and make sure that I don't overspend in a month. It's also a good way to avoid unnecessary purchases and be a bit more disciplined. As a general rule I try to save 10% each month for investing, but lately that wasn't possible so much. Food and living expenses are rising a lot this year and I still have to pay back a loan.
2249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto moving into world. Algo sponsor FIFA on: May 03, 2022, 08:40:21 AM

The agreement means Algorand will become the official blockchain platform of FIFA and provide the official blockchain-supported wallet solution. As per the sponsorship agreement, Algorand will be a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Regional Supporter in North America and Europe, and a FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023™ Official Sponsor.

Great news for the Algorand and the crypto community in general. Being the official sponsor for the largest sport events in the world is awesome. People from almost every country of the world are going to watch the Worldcup 2022 in Qatar. The Women's World Cup doesn't have the same reach as the men's tournament but still will attract a lot of public interest from the media. With such a big platform to advertisie on Algorand should be able to get a lot of new customer and bring more investors into the crypto world. Just by looking at the ALGO price we see that investors are excited with the coin jumping 23% upwards. I wonder how much higher the price will go before the world cup, vs after the world cup. There should be a big profit coming in.
2250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Afraid to buy Bitcoin in its bearish state? on: May 03, 2022, 08:30:35 AM
What I mean by this? Basically this cryptocurrency is not going through its best moment since it is even said that it will oscillate between $25k, this is where I highlight my comment “Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency full of possibilities” since for some investors this will be the key point and the moment exact to invest in this and see it as a long-term investment since it will have to rise due to its volatility and good profits will be generated, it is a matter of time for this to happen. Don't you think it's a good way to take advantage of the bearish state of said cryptocurrency?

Yes I agree with you, right now seems to be a good way to top up any bitcoin holdings. In my opinion any purchase price below 40,000 USD is a good buy and will lead to go profits later this year. We are already facing a lot of issues this year in the world and still the major countries are not going into depression. As long as the economies, stock markets and crypto markets are holding out we should be fine.  When it comes to asset prices it is all about the expectations of the future. If the world will not fall into Worldwar 3 this year, we should be able to see some new ATH. Waiting for the bitcoin price to drop to 25 or 20,000 USD is not a good idea, the risk of missing out on the next rally is to big.
2251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Paradox of Gambling behavior on: May 02, 2022, 03:12:21 PM

It would be a very commendable attitude if the government really showed that it is concerned about its people, they could also ban cigarettes and beer and wines, in short, ban all alcoholic beverages, but unfortunately the government only bans gambling with the argument that it is protecting people but cannot banish alcoholic beverages that every day has created hundreds of new addicts, hundreds of car accidents due to driving under the influence of alcohol. so I ask myself:

Why do they ban gambling, but leave the cigarette and alcoholic drink?

Isn't the government's job to protect the people? I come to the following conclusion: casinos are not owned by corrupt politicians, at least most casinos are not theirs, but companies and beers, wines, gins, whiskeys are owned by many corrupt politicians for this reason they do not ban companies of alcoholic beverages

I fully agree with you, if the government wants to protect it's people from harmful things than it should consequent about the issue. No reason to single out gambling as the root of all evil. A stricter ban on drugs, alcohol and cigarettes would just be the first step. What about the extra fast sport cars? Most crashes involving the cars with 400+ horse power result in serious inquires. Or what about banning guns and knifes? There are death with them each year. A good government shouldn't ban everything, citizens need freedom and a choice in life. The main thing I would argue is the lobbyist sector for alcohol, tabacco and guns is much larger than the gambling industry. They can spend more money to influence politicians than casinos can. And even a ban by the government still doesn't mean it will be actually enforced, like we see with school kids smoking cigarettes. It's illegal and still I see it every day.
2252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 02, 2022, 02:48:36 PM
According the this site: https://www.horsedeathwatch.com/background.php they have seen more than 2000 deaths in around 5500 days. Most of the horses die during the match as well, they also have instances where they are exploited using drugs (doping).

Are you aware that most of the horses go through slaughter as well? Some of them have very bad injuries making them not even the least bit useful for the business therefore they are killed without second thought. I do hope people would get more aware and try and steer away from *horse racing*.

Oh wow that's insane, I had no idea that things were so bad in horse racing. To me it sounds like animal cruelty. That's really sad, how is the sport not banned yet? I never watched a horse race on TV or went to a live event. Near my home town there was such a place, but it closed down years ago. The sport doesn't seem very common anymore in my country. In England it still seems popular, but even among my English friends I never meet anybody who would go there or even bet money on it. It always seems ridiculous in movies to see all these rich people betting millions on horses. And then seeing horses die on the race track is really disturbing, how can people go back after seeing something like that. To me horses are beautiful animals, like dogs or cats, I could never eat horse meat. And if they make their owners rich in horse racing, they should atleast own the right to live their last years in peace.
2253  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1 Million Bitcoin On Track To Break This Price Level. on: May 02, 2022, 07:39:13 AM
Arthur Hayes, the founder of BitMEX, spoke about Bitcoin and predicted that it will reach a value of $1 million by 2030. This information could be quite useful for those who love Holdear.

That is a very bold prediction. Since he is heavily invested in bitcoins himself and part of the crypto community it is nice to read that he has such big projections for the upcoming years. I am a little big more cautious when it comes to the future bitcoin price. Don't get me wrong, I also believe in a long term upwards trend of bitcoins. We will see a new ATH for sure in the next few years. A bitcoin price of 100,000 or 200,000 USD seems possible during the next rally. But going to 1m USD in 7.5 years is a long way to go. I would already be happy if we are around 300k USD at 2030. For the HODL investors that would be an amazing profit, I am just wondering at what price levels we will see large amounts of bitcoins being sold from them. The higher the price will rise, the more of the HODL investors will start to selling their coins.
2254  Economy / Economics / Re: What crypro / tokens has the most utility ? looks like all are useless on: May 02, 2022, 07:23:21 AM

Gold for example is a metal that you can shape / work in to objects and has physical / chemical properties that you can use + it's a limited resources.
Fiat / Crypto is some sort of storage of value with no real utility ... at least fiat i can use it as toilet paper or make fire if to cold outside.Crypto has zero use in real world, took me a few years to realize this.

So because Gold can be shaped into rings and other nice objects the price should be at 1,886 USD? Doesn't sound very realistic to me. If investors wouldn't look at Gold as a form to store value safely, the value would be much lower. The value here doesn't come from it's possibility to be used as jewelry or in some industrial production, but rather from the demand from investors. Your argument there the utility is what makes these commodities so valuable and high in price is not valid. Also you would use a 100 USD bill as toilet paper, which cost like 2 cents? Or maybe make a fire with it? Not very realistic. The utility from crypto currencies comes obviously from it's independence and the easy to use feature. All around the world we can exchange crypto currencies for goods and other money without the government interfering too much with our transactions.
2255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: May 01, 2022, 08:33:03 AM
In fact, this is the only topic we are talking about these days, even if you look at what is written on this topic, you can see that everyone is talking about this match  Wink
It will be too risky to bet on this match, we saw how perfectly both teams were already playing in the first match. I think both teams have a chance. Real Madrid's motivation may be a little higher, the 3 goals they scored were very valuable. But we also know what an excellent team City is.
It will be very difficult to decide Cheesy

The only real game that is undecided is Real Madrid vs Man City. Nobody is expecting any surprise in the Liverpool - Villarreal match, Liverpool should make it easily to the finals. I agree that it will be a hard and close match for Real Madrid, but they are playing in their home stadium. The fan support will definitely be with Real that game. With 7 goals in the first match and the pressure being so high I imagine we are going to see another awesome match with many goals. It's also hard for me to pick a winner for that match. On paper I would probably pick Man City, they are in the lead and Real Madrid has to put on pressure and score goals. Usually in such a setup it becomes easier for the defenders to counter and score some goals. Maybe the best bet is to just bet on seeing more than 3 goals in the match. For the finals it will be an easier pick for me. I am going for Liverpool in that one, they should be winning both against Real Madrid or against Man City. In their last few matches against Man City they either won or played tied.
2256  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it always about price? on: May 01, 2022, 08:12:14 AM

Shouldn’t we rather talk a bit more about fundamentals or/and all the positive news happening in the space? When the nights are dark and full of terrors, shouldn’t we bring some light?

Of course we should be worrying more about the fundamentals than about the price. Only shortterm traders are worrying about the price and not the underlying fundamentals. When it comes to price fluctuations in intraday trading these are normally not caused by any shift in fundamentals. A lot of the price changes just come naturally due to supply and demand on the exchange. That is why traders are looking to make a profit based on price. As an investor who has a longer investment period, will always worry more about the fundamentals than about the price. In case of strong fundamentals the price can be high or low for sometime, but eventually the price has to match the economics. It can't be that strong project with excellent fundamentals will be undervalued forever. Eventually other investors will notice it and start driving the price up. The same goes for bitcoins, I wouldn't worry too much about a 5 or 10% drop in price during a month. As long as the longterm trend is upwards there is no real issue, we just need to stay invested for the longrun.
2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the future of crypto 10 years from now. on: May 01, 2022, 07:04:23 AM
Bitcoin is the best coin in crypto and as the years passed by there are a lot of coins (altcoins) that is more profitable in terms of investment on both short and long term process, in you're future sights and speculation of btc based on some good promising projects that is now scattering and has a posibility to move to next level in the near future, Can there will be a coin that can manage to surpass btc 10 years from now?

I don't think we will see another coin in 10 years that is going to surpass bitcoins as the number 1 crypto currency. Everybody knows bitcoins these days, the market became so huge with so many different investors all around that it will be hard to over come that by any other project. For me it seems impossible that investors one day will not like bitcoins anymore. All the current investors would need to lose confidence and sell their coins to bring the price down to 1,000 USD or below - that seems very unrealistic. This of course doesn't mean that there won't be any new project what will be more profitable that bitcoins in the next 10 years. With a bitcoins price of around 40,000 USD it is hard to imagine we will see another few hundred percent increase any time soon. A price increase of just 100% would already mean a new ATH. A new project starting at 0.1 USD has it much easier to make big returns in the future than bitcoins. In my opinion BTC will be a very good investment to store value and have some longer term profits, but new alt coin projects will be the best place to go for the high risk / high reward trades.
2258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 01, 2022, 06:53:23 AM
It was almost two months hard earned money. Got busted in few minutes. I don't know why I wasn't able to have me within the limits. Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet. This is completely unlucky, because every bets were placed to roll above 20 which means the winning probability is quite high. Anyhow I wasn't in control and I didn't follow the rule gamble what you can afford to loss. It was a money saved to repay a debt. Now once again the interest needs to be paid so to manage the debt for some more time. Unlucky me  Sad Sad Sad

That sounds really unlucky, sorry read that your start in gambling was so devastating. It's a bit hard to fully understand what happened to you. From your post I get that your starting bet was $3 and your highest bet was $98, how much was your bankroll? $1000 or $2000? The first thing what is alarming to me is that you got busted in a few minutes. That should never happen. Your starting bets where probably way to big for your overall bankroll. Whenever you gamble you need to anticipate to lose a few games in a row. If you start betting too large and  it will be impossible to recover any losses later on. Maybe it would have been better if you start with a 0.25 or 0.5$ bet? Like that you are less at risk to go broke and can run more bets.  It's good that you realised that you weren't in control, unfortunately that happens a lot in gambling when you try it out for the first time. Games in online casinos go much fast than in a physical casino, so we need to be more in control of ourselves. Managing emotions and not only focusing on possible wins is very important in gambling. I hope you can save more money in the future and be a bit more cautious next time you try gambling. Good luck in your next gambling adventures.
2259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Paradox of Gambling behavior on: April 30, 2022, 06:10:47 PM
Gambling in casinos and playing lottery is very different for me from betting on sports games. I have different motivations and expectations at each type of gamble. Sport betting for me is all about winning and making money. I make a bet on a team where I believe there is a good chance of winning. If I lose I hate being wrong and it's also the money that is gone. Usually I only bet on games that I like to watch anyways, so betting makes it a bit more interesting, but also let's a loss hurt more. And if I lose money a few times in a row I will take a break from it.
Gambling is mostly for fun for me, I love games like poker, black jack, dice and roulette. For years I have been playing them in online casinos and on offline casinos. I enjoy making some profits but I don't feel bad if I lose one night. It's part of the game, I know that in many games the casino has an edge over me. My goal in gambling is to have fun while keeping the losses small. And any bigger winnings I try to save.
Lotteries for me are not about fun and not about making money. I studied to much mathematics to know that winning big in a lottery is nearly impossible. For me lotteries is only a hedge among friend to not left behind. Once there is a new big jackpot we all pool together our money and buy the lottery as a group. So far we haven't won anything more than the money we put in. But I am only part of it because if they ever would win I don't want to be only guy in the group that's not a millionaire.
2260  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders Stop Being Greedy. on: April 30, 2022, 08:58:20 AM
Do not trade with everything you have, your egg can not be save in one basket, I have lost but I have gained more in trading with the help of research and mentorship programs.

Amen to that. Diversification is one of the key elements to building a long term investment portfolio. This holds true when it comes to stock, bonds, commodity or crypto investing. Spreading out money across multiple assets reduces the risk profile considerably and helps to not lose too much during bad times. Greed is a normal human emotion, that most of us have experienced in the past. We need to train ourselves to not give into these gut feelings and remain strong. Both greed and fear will cloud our judgement and lead to the wrong decision making. Diversification helps here also, because if we own multiple crypto coins the risk of falling for greed to only pick the riskiest coin with the highest possible reward is limited. Mentor programs are also a good way to learn from more experience traders and maybe to copy their trading style.
