1241  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 18, 2023, 11:00:13 AM
A few days ago we met on a family reunion occasion and he did not really talk to me and I suddenly realized that it was because I didn't lend him money last year. I think about it twice and if he had not been that untrustworthy, I would have definitely lent him the money. Anyway, I hope he is doing fine now and best wishes to him.

That's a big red flag and it's good that you didn't lend him money. In my opinion it's best to keep. Family and money seperated as long as it's not emergency. In a life or death situation I would do anything for my family, but in other cases I would be reluctant to give a lot of money. It also depend on how wealthy our family, for an average family where we have to work hard for our money it's not easy to lend large amounts of money. Just by his reaction you already know that you made the right decision. Who knows when he would have repaid you, or maybe he would assume because you are family that he doesn't have to repay you. This creates a very annoying situation where you would have to run after your money, better to avoid such issues in the first place.
1242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why it's very boring to trade on public holiday's? on: March 18, 2023, 08:45:49 AM
my question is why this difference in candles ,
my possible reasons are because insitutional traders are on holiday's or all traders are on holiday at that day,but financialcrypto markets are never on holidays.
share your thoughts why this candle differences, and very low volume.

I think there is a difference between public holidays and weekends. At least in my country public holidays are holy and nobody is going to work. By law it's not allowed to be working, so every family tries to do something special on this day. That's why you won't find many traders on the market. There are some people who have limit orders on the market, but due to the low trading volume prices won't change that much. On weekends things are different, you have the professional day traders who trade during the week and will probably take a break on the weekends. Against that you have the part time traders who spend their week in their normal jobs and will be more active on the weeks. The difference is that institutional and professional traders have much more capital at hand and will influence prices stronger during the week. It's good to be aware of the pattern and include it in our trading strategies.
1243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What other ways are available for purchasing Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2023, 08:15:45 AM
Charles Hoskinson stated that cryptocurrency needs to cut ties with banks, how do you think this will work out? Because I use Fiat through Bank to purchase Bitcoin and other altcoins, is there any possible way that this can work out? What ways can someone buy Bitcoin without the help of Banks?

It's not really banks that make us interact with crypto currencies, the problem is that banks hold our fiat money and we don't really have an alternative. In my country no employer is going to pay out cash, to receive a salary I need a bank account. I also need the bank and fiat money to pay all my bills each month's. In most cases we buy cryptos at an exchange and to transfer money there we also need a bank account. Maybe one way to avoid banks would be to receive our salary directly at the exchange and buy cryptos with it. But then we need to exchange money to pay taxes and bills. Another alternative could be to find local crypto seller that we could meet directly and pay in cash. Just make sure it's a trustworthy seller and we are not getting scammed.
1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much these features weigh most when you choose your favorite casino? on: March 18, 2023, 07:46:12 AM
Features:Importance:
Huge variety of games and different sections (sports, live tables, etc
Good bonus/reward program
Good looking, intuitive and fast user interface
Good help desk
Strong community/ Reputation

No KYC is the least important feature for me because I already got so used to it over the years. It kind of became the norm and I accepted it, when I was new in the gambling world it was a bigger deal for me. The most important feature beside a good reputation is for me a big variety of games, because I like to play all kind of games. There are days where I only want to play slots and then I have evenings where I only play Black Jack or Poker. Having the option to choose from a lot of different games keeps the casino interesting. And the other important feature is to have a decent bonus program for regular gamblers.

1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: March 18, 2023, 07:36:35 AM
Very interesting week in the ESL Pro League Season 17 with some surprises again. In Group D we saw this week NaVi losing 2-1 against Forze, luckily I was busy and didn't place any bets yet. NaVi pulled through the lower bracket and is playing today in the group lower bracket final against Spirit which they should be winning. Somehow I thought NaVi would be playing better this Series and not lose 1 map in all of their games so far, I will just place a small bet on them for today. The other two matches today are knock out games that need to be won by the teams. First will be Astralis vs ATK, which is going to be an easy win for Astralis, I don't see them losing this one. And the second match will be Team Liquid vs Rare Atom, which Liquid should be winning but it's going to be close. Because Rare Atoms where the ones to send to send Liquid to the lower bracket in the first place. And tomorrow will be the upper bracket final between Forze and ENCE, hard to pick a winner for the match because Forze had such a good run so far. Normally I would pick ENCE to win this one , but Forze managed to win quite a lot of games lately and might be on a winning streak.
1246  Economy / Economics / Re: If they have the solution, why are banks still failing? on: March 18, 2023, 07:10:07 AM
I have always seen bad news about the cryptocurrency industry making headlines in national and international newspapers. The government and bankers criticize the industry and portray the banks as the only remedy to the financial problems of the world. SVB recorded six straight quarterly losses, why didn't these financial gurus fix the bank? Yet they claim to be the only solution.

Why should we be listening to the banks? They are obviously not telling the truth. If a bank manager tells us that they are the only solution to financial management that this comes out of fear of losing their job. The bank managers are not working for the common good, they are not interested in a better works for everybody. The interests of the banks are egoistic and focused on their own bonus payments. The banks we see failing right now are not in trouble because of a bad business model, but rather because of greed. They gave out too many bad loans because they wanted higher returns, risk management was failing and now they are looking for the tax payers to pick up the bill.
1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a treasure. on: March 18, 2023, 06:52:21 AM
To me, bitcoin is an investment and also a treasure, I don't know if am wrong or right.
But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?

Not sure if this is a problem because of translation, but I don't think bitcoin is a property. For me property is a house or an apartment, something tangible I can live hin. It's specific to one fixed location and there can't be other people owning it if it's mine. Also it can't be traded quickly without lawyers involved in the deal. That's why bitcoin is a currency and an asset for me, which means its an investment. A treasure for me is something you find which is rare and there is no real value to it. Maybe in the broader sense bitcoin is treasure, but for me a treasure is more some gold jewelry you find hidden in the basement from your great great grandparents. A good thing for looking at bitcoin as a treasure would be that we are not going to give it away easily. A treasure usually has a high value to us and we wouldn't sell it cheaply.
1248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Beginners Should Not Go For Future Trading? on: March 18, 2023, 06:41:58 AM

Edit: Trading beginners can practice future trading with Demo funds. There are some exchange available where you can trade with demo assets. That will help you to build a good experience in future trading.

Trading futures means that we are using leverage to have larger positions than when buying the underlying assets directly. When buying futures we need to put money in a margin account, that settles all price movements. So we participate on price fluctuations without needing to put down the full balance. This creates another layer of risk, which is why no beginner should engage in futures trading. With futures we can make higher returns if our strategy is profitable, but we will make larger losses when our strategy is falling. Running a demo account is a great idea to check how profitable our strategy is. Only looking at backward prices is not going to lead to a great strategy, we need to test with real time data. The best way is to create a good strategy in the spot market first. Once we are profitable and have some experience we can start trying out futures trading.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Random Number Generator and it's importance in Online Casinos on: March 16, 2023, 07:19:42 AM
In the past, I used to think or believe that the random numbers generated were controlled by the owners of the online casinos. I was wrong. They have no control over it. Instead, there are companies that monitor it to ensure that the numbers generated are as random as they are. Imagine the manipulation and bias in the game results if online casinos had control over the RNG.

Personally, I feel that the RNG is the most important tool by which gamblers can measure an online casino's fairness, transparency, accountability, and honesty and that it operates in an ethical manner. For me this is the major role of the RNG in the online gambling industry.

As a gambler have you ever read up on how the RNG works in online casino games, or do you simply trust that it's functioning properly?

I never really looked it up about the number generators, it would have been awkward if the casino had full control about it. It's good that another company provides the random numbers to reduce the manipulation opportunities. RNG is definitely the biggest part in gambling, without it we wouldn't have any chance at all to win a big jackpot. The house edge is what makes the casino money overtime, so the more we gamble the higher our chance of losing money. That is why we the randomness part that can change to outcome in our favour. It's good to check how the casino operates, we shouldn't trust them blindly.
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A costly gambling mistake on: March 15, 2023, 03:16:40 PM
Some even start spreading FUD on the forum about these gambling platforms that did them wrong, not knowing that they are the ones at fault, they are guilty because they don't read the rules and regulations.

Every gambler should fully understand what he gets into before he deposits real money at a casino. The first step would be to learn about the games we want to play. We can find out or winning chance and the house edge with a quick Google search for any game. Most of the casinoe use very similar games, so we can compare across different platforms. Just because we don't understand something won't save us from losing our money. Also many casinos offer play money to test their games before using our own money. The next step is to read the terms and conditions of the casino where we want to play. Especially when we want use special promotions it's important to read all the details, otherwise me might try to withdraw money before we are even eligible for it.
1251  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: March 15, 2023, 08:01:23 AM
The less riskier from Real Estate and cryptocurrency is Real Estate, but less risk,, less reward. The risk that come with the higher volatility of cryptocurrency makes the profit that can be gotten bigger. Will you go for less risk, or big profit?

It's true that in general a real estate investment is going to be less risky than crypto currencies, but with renting out a house or apartment we are also not going to make big profits. The income from real estate usually comes through steady rent income over a long period of time. Rent income goes up with the cost of the property, it's hard to justify higher rent if all the cost remain constant or even drop. That is why I would always recommend for people to own both crypto and real estate. When building an investment portfolio we should try to combine as many different asset classes as possible to lower the overall risk profile of our portfolio. Owning some real estate for a steady income is good, on top of that we should invest in crypto currencies for higher returns. Also we shouldn't put all our money only into one coin, spreading out across multiple projects would be much better.
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 15, 2023, 07:54:13 AM
With this, I wondered if other person's here in the forum that are into gambling too has at any point in time thought or felt that way, particularly when the losses are becoming overwhelming. And in that case, should such person stop gambling and rather divert such monies into something else since he/she ain't making corresponding wins or more, checking his bet history, Or he should carry on with hopes that winnings will start creeping in someday gradually?

My cousin is very similar, every time I see him he looks constantly on his phone. You can't have a normal conversation without him looking multiple times on his phone. He isn't gambling or placing sports bets though, he is only playing mobile games. I have never played these mobile games where you see advertising everywhere, I can't understand how someone can be addicted to these games. My other cousin is addicted to social media and constantly uses instagram and other apps. It's sad to watch them being on their phone all the time. When your friend is struggling with gambling than you should help him. One way for him to reduce his gambling activities could be to make a summary of all his losses to let him realise how much money he lost in the past with gambling.
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden on Brink of 2nd US Bank Bailout on: March 14, 2023, 03:21:30 PM
Silver and Gold are being purchased like crazy, and people are buying more Bitcoin too the price is going up as we speak. What an insane week for the markets. Surely BTC has a chance for a huge upswing. I mean honestly this is looking very BULLISH for BTC, is it not?

It's great news that the bitcoin market is going up again. Any negative news in the financial sector that leads to higher crypto demand is good in my opinion. The question is now if this is only a short term effect or a more long term trends. It was just a matter of time for the high inflation to lead to higher interest rates, which in return makes loans more expensive. Both of the insolvent banks were focusing on the high yield market where is a lot of more risk involved. They were trying to get higher returns by giving money to start ups. Its good that Biden is not going to bail out the banks. Nobody is going to bail us out of we make the wrong decisions.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fear of KYC requirements on: March 14, 2023, 08:20:16 AM
Have you ever seen a online casino website that displays, No kYC requirements or KYC requirement for **** amount of withdrawal before? And why won't any online casinos do something like this? I believe this is suppose to boost users and players confidence when they are about to try out new gambling platforms for the first time.

I believe this is still affecting online gambling platforms because this is one of the most common issues that online gamblers are still facing.

I am not sure if this is still the case, but in the past it was definitely common for many online casinos to only require KYC for large withdrawals. Which was a good compromise in my opinion for all the people who don't like KYC, they can stick to small size gambling and only will be forced into KYC once they make it their main casino and add a larger balance. In the past I never had a problem with KYC as long as the casino keeps my personal data private. In my country I always have to show my ID when visiting a physical casino because I look so young, which is kind of annoying but I got used to it over the years. If KYC adds another layer of security for the gambler than I don't see a big problem with it.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gamble continuously because have surrendered to the situation on: March 14, 2023, 08:12:11 AM
I got a picture sent from a friend who said there was a slot addict who no longer cared about anything in his life, even his family had left him because of his addiction, luckily he is not a criminal, he doesn't rob to gamble but if you have a friend like him, would you advise him to stop gambling like crazy and return to the family? because there is no way you can stay with him, you have a family to take care of!

That is a very sad story and I feel like advising a friend at this point to stop gambling has no impact at all. Once someone surrenders to his situation things are really bad and we need professional help to get him out of this hole. Even for your best friend you can't be there all the time and control actions. The same would be if it's your brother, uncle or cousin. We all have our own lifes and can't put everything on hold to help. The first step would be to get him to accept the problem of a gambling addiction and find help for him. In such a severe case it probably needs to be an institution that is specialised in gambling cases.

1257  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: March 13, 2023, 02:25:27 PM
Remember the first lesson you learned as a beginner trader? Did it come from a loss or a win?

I don't remember my first lesson in trading because it's such a long time ago. When I first started trading stocks as a teenager I had a different relationship with money, I knew that even if I lost money on Christmas and my birthday I would just get new money. That's was not a good situation and only after I started earning my own money during university I realised how difficult it is to save money. You are absolutely right that it's the losses that stick with us longer and at least made me think harder about what went wrong. With a win it's usually a lot of joy and I don't spend so much time thinking of my predictions were correct. My biggest trading lessons definitely came after a loss.
1258  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: March 13, 2023, 08:18:41 AM

Well, the inflation in my country now is not extremely high but has already damaged the economy. The cost of living is increasing and does not seem to stop. Last week one of my friends lost his job after working in the same company for a decade. His life abruptly changed, putting him in a place where he could not support his family. If you were him, how would you survive this tough time ? As a friend, I am trying to help him as much as I can and meanwhile, I am planning to save more money to prepare for the unexpected challenges in my life. What about you ?

Saving is the best option we have at the moment, times are rough and things could be getting worse this year. The main problem in my country is that inflation is already high and is not going to come down any time soon. That's why it makes no sense at all to save money in a bank account that pays 2% interest, compared to a 10% inflation. The only real option is to invest in stocks or crypto currencies. Losing our job is the worst case scenario and I would try to get government assistance as fast as possible. In my country there are financial schemes to help pay for rent and give other benefits if we can find a new job in 6-12 months. If that isn't an option I would ask my family for financial help.
1259  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 13, 2023, 07:44:49 AM
Do you think AI will be more successful to get a working gambling strategy to win the house... and if they do, what will be the impact on casinos?

No i don't think AI based gambling strategies are going to beat the casinos. As far as I know there is still no strategy by itself that beats the casino consistently. All of the casino games are designed with a house edge that makes sure the casino remains profitable in the long run. Short term there be a lot of gamblers making money due to randomness, but eventually the number of losers should be higher than the number of winners. Even the best Ai in the world can't change that. There are winning strategies like card counting in Blackjack or professional poker players who manage to be profitable for a long period of time. But this won't be able to be replicated freely by AI as most casinos don't allow card counting. I am still wondering what kind of strategies the AI comes up with after many games.
1260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have failed too severely, time to give up? on: March 13, 2023, 07:09:13 AM
What advice do you have for me at this point?

Should I just give up for now and wait for the future maybe when Bitcoin gets more popular? Or Bitcoin and farming makes no sense together?

Sorry to hear that you have such troubles to promote bitcoins in your sector. I have no background in agriculture at all, I only know a few farmers from my home town. All of them are now 50+ years old and none of their children are interested in farming. I also wouldn't expected them to move to crypto currencies in their lifetime. From friends family that rents them a lot of farming land I know that most transactions are still being done in cash. It would make sense to switch to a crypto framework, the problem is to establish trust and get the whole industry to switch to bitcoins. But as long as there is a lot of volality in the market its difficult. In case bitcoins would be stable around the 20k USD for a few years it would be easier. I would recommend to you to stay at least partially in the crypto community and not  go fully back to fiat money.
