1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many crypto wallets do you own? on: March 06, 2023, 07:42:17 AM
I will be taking these steps in the next few days to give myself peace of mind.

I'm curious if others think I'm being too paranoid or have carried out some of these practices.

No you are not paranoid, better be safe and have a few more wallets than lose all your money in case one wallet get hacked. There is no real cost to having multiple crypto wallets, the only downside is it's more work to store all the private keys and we have to pay transaction fees to move coins between our wallet. But I would rather pay a little bit more fees than to face security issues. One big advantage of multiple wallets is that it's easier to organise our coins and separate them for their purposes. I have one mobile wallet, it has the lowest security and I keep only 100-150 USD on it, the main purpose of it is to move money between online casinos or to buy something small quickly. My second wallet is an online wallet with a bit higher security, here I collect my gambling winnings and my signature campaign earnings. It's also where I send my coins that I buy on an exchange. And once it reaches 1000 USD I transfer it to my last two wallets. I have one paper wallet and one hardware wallet that I use to for long term storage.

What's up with CS? Any good tournament to follow?

ESL Pro League Season 17 is still ongoing, there were already quite a lot of nice matches played in the last few weeks. This week group C is starting, with mostly one sided games. On Wednesday there will be paiN vs NiP, which should be an easy match for NiP to win. The second match will be Rooster vs FaZe, I have never seen Rooster play before and I don't think we can even bet on the match. There is no chance for them to win against FaZe. Third match is OG vs 00Nation, which should be an easy win for OG. And the last match is Grayhound vs Vitality, which should be won by Vitality without troubles. All of these matches are extremely one sided and don't give much profit. The more interesting games of group C are going to come on the weekend.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 06, 2023, 07:17:45 AM
If you made a billion dollars or even more, as someone who love gambling/betting and have been doing this on several other casinos for many years now, would you rather start your own casino?
Or would you prefer to keep gambling, doing your sports betting on other casinos even when you know you have more than enough money to start your own casinos and make the casino as big as you want it to be??

Inputs are greatly appreciated.

Do you mean that you made a billion dollars by gambling alone? If so, would you really want to start running your own casino/sportsbook? Probably not. As a skilled gambler it would make more sense to keep on playing other peoples websites than your own. You already proofed that you can make a lot of money with it, there is no need for running your own business. Or in case you made this money in a different way and just want to enjoy life now. But why then have to hassle and run a casino? You already have all the money in the world and don't need to worry about anything anymore. With a billion dollars I would focus on enjoying life and not run a casino.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how do I keep my private key safe? on: March 05, 2023, 08:39:28 AM
I have wondered for long, if there is  anyway to recover my private keys when they get lost or when I don't remember them. Someone advised me to use Gmail and store them as mails then I taught again, what if my Gmail gets hacked. Is this actually the best way to store them or is there any other ways I can store or Keep them safe?

Don't store your private keys online, the risk of getting hacked is way too big. When it comes security we shouldn't trust the internet, better to store our private keys offline in a physical form. It depends a bit on where you live and how many people have access to your home. The easiest way would be to keep your private key on a piece of paper at home, preferably in a fireproof box where only you have the key. The problem is if you live with other people or have a lot of visitors at home, then I would advice against it. Let's say your parents have their own house with a garden, then the best way would be to write your key on a metal plate and dig a hole in the garden to hide it. Just make sure only you know where your key is hidden.
1286  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase capital investment on: March 05, 2023, 08:27:37 AM

* Buy more money or income

I don't really understand this part, isn't money itself the tool we use to buy things with? So we can't really buy more money. Except for our monthly salary it's hard to increase income in short period of time. Building an investment portfolio is important for the long term, but it's not a means to generate new income very quickly. In case we try to go for big profits we will have to accept a lot of risks which could lead to us losing money. For me the best way to try and get some additional income that I can use to invest is to sell things that we don't need anymore in the family. I have been using ebay for almost 10 years now, it's a great way to get rid of older things at home that still have some value. The most important thing right now is to invest money and get returns that at least cover the inflation rate, otherwise we are losing value each year.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambler has 100% trust in each stake on: March 04, 2023, 03:17:01 PM
My question now is, As a gambler would you give 100% to a stake that you trust?

I never would bet all my money on one team or one play. For me the risk is way too high that something goes. Every athlete can have a bad day and if his bad day results in me going broke I did something. Diversification is one of the key concepts in my trading strategies, I try to also do the same when in gambling and betting. In my opinion its better to focus on minimising my risk of going bankrupt than maximising my returns. Also isn't all the statistical data of the top teams already included in the odds? That's why the profits from betting on the top teams is so much smaller. We either need to combine multiple bets for a decent multipler or bet on the underdog.
1288  Economy / Gambling / Re: Consider open live casino (street gambling games) on: March 04, 2023, 03:08:49 PM
Does being an observer makes much difference from partaking on the street gambling, it's better to combine the two or not to have any at all, some gamblers don't mind gambling on the street or watching those gambling because they care less about being reserved and take privacy with low priority, while come gamblers cannot make such mistakes to downgrade themselves because of their reputation and whom they were, so at the end of it all, our choice is what determines either way we take when dealing with gambling at anytime.
What ever way we choose to do whether we care less about street gambling because of our reputation or we don't mind gambling on the street because we want to make more money or we see it as an opportunity to showcase our potential as a gambler, we need to go for what suit our interest not minding the other way round. Fro me I would not want to engage in street gambling because of my reputation and how secretive i am when I want to gamble publicly.
I haven't really thought about the secretive aspect when it comes to gamble on the streets. This probably depends on where you live and how many people you know there. I got so used to live in a big city where you rarely walk into somebody you know that I wouldn't worry about people finding out that I gamble publicly. Usually I am quite open about my hobby and so far I didn't have any negative consequences for it. In my country street gambling is not really common that's why I would be a bit sceptical at first when it would appear regularly. It would illegal as they don't have a gambling licence and probably not paying any taxes. There is no security for the gambler also that would help us to get our money in case the people don't want to pay our winnings.
1289  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 04, 2023, 02:29:11 PM

Statistically, 95% of entrepreneurs have a bachelor's degree or higher and I wonder, for those of you who are involved in entrepreneurship, how useful was higher education for you?

A bachelor degree became kind of the norm in my country, all my friends have one. Even the colleagues who went straight to start working after high school got a bachelor degree eventually. There are all kind of different courses, normal universities, evening schools or in corporation with your work. That's why it's normal to see entrepreneurs with a bachelor degree. At this point I wouldn't even count it as higher education, for me that's a masters degree or a PhD. Both of them are not required to run a successful business. It's more important to have a good business idea and to make sure it's competitive enough to survive the early stages of a startup. Both my friends who run their own business work in a completely different field of what they studied. If there is important knowledge you are missing for your business you can always higher a specialist for it.
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Experience on Bulk Bankroll vs Partial Bankroll on: March 04, 2023, 08:34:24 AM

I’ve been doing this for months and I usually get 80$ to 100$ in profit. But of course this profit is just for recovering loss from my previous game when I use bulk bankroll. This happened to multiple times and I’m finally getting my phase on making good profit.

That is a pretty nice return, hope you can keep it up this year. Like you I am also using a fixed gambling balance each month, but mine is a bit lower, I usually only use only 100 USD per month for gambling. Whenever I make a profit I take half of the profit for saving, and the rest I allow myself to increase my bankroll for the next week. Your partial bankroll approach seems much better in my opinion, you are betting on higher winning chances and manage to get a higher profit as well. I think it's best to try and reduce your risk of going bankrupt as much as possible. For me poker is the best game to make a consistent profit overtime, I am also using a partial bankroll approach and keep sticking to the smaller blind tables. Its better to   stick to a winning strategy and making small gains to our bankroll than risk losing everything in one bad streak.
1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 04, 2023, 08:05:43 AM
I explained this formula to my wife at night and she was not willing to give me her jewelery at first but today she told me by herself that you can sell my jewelery and invest in Bitcoin. At present I am forced to sell my wife's jewelery as I have no fiat money.
I seek advice from expert investors/holders/users of this forum,,,,
whether selling my wife's jewelery and investing on bitcoins makes sense?
Is it reasonable to invest in gold rather than bitcoin?

First time I am hearing about such a strategy, are you sure your marriage is going to survive that? We have some jewelry in our family from my great great parents that nobody is wearing. I would never consider selling it though. Its not only the material that is valuable, but also the sentimental value behind. Investing in bitcoins is not a guarantee to make quick short-term profits. It could take another year for the next halving to happen before prices really start to rise again. Just make sure that your wife knows that, it's her jewels and she might feel that she should get the profit you make. Why not try and save every month some money and invest that in bitcoins? Also keeping at least some gold in form of jewelry at home is fine in my opinion. If you don't need the money right now then better to hold some. In case things get really bad you could always exchange gold for some cash rather quickly.
1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: March 04, 2023, 07:56:23 AM
With most depositors no longer have access to their money through to the high centralization of the financial institutions leaving all the power over their finances in the hand of the central banks.

This crisis has forced many to start looking for an alternative way to save the money, and bitcoin is the best store of value at this point, with Bitcoin, you have total control over your finances and Bitcoin help to reduce the bank to becoming just a Junction or bus stops were our money can just pass through to carry out a transaction or exchange aside from that.

Bitcoin is the best alternative way to save money, with Bitcoin you have control over your savings because it's your wallet and your key and you are your banks!

I agree with you, everybody should hold at least some of their wealth in crypto currencies. It doesn't necessary have to bitcoin, other well established crypto coins are a good alternative too. The problem with our centralised financial system is that the blow up of one institute could lead to the collapse of the whole system. Just think back to 2008 when Bear Stearns and Legman Brothers went bankrupt, all the major banks needed capital infusions and if the government wouldn't have stepped in many more banks would have went under. That is why even when you spread out your saving across multiple banks, it's not a guarantee your money is save. The two best ways to make sure our money is really save is buying crypto currencies and owning a piece of land. If we own our own house or apartment then we don't have to worry about rent during the next major crisis.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: March 02, 2023, 08:13:34 AM
If someone is saying to you that they're winning constantly, it probably means that they are not disclosing their losses.

That's a very common thing among gamblers, they forget how much they've lost, and only remember how much they've "won".

In most cases, specially in the long run, every gambler will have paid more to the casino than what the casino paid to them.

That's true, I don't think people are necessarily lying, it's more about genuinely not being able to keep proper track of the results. Or maybe it's just the wins are more strongly engraved in memory than losses.

I believe that most of gamblers are deluded into thinking they're somehow in a break-even position. I was like that years ago, but luckily the site I was playing provided profit/loss stats, which got me disillusioned.

I agree, people are overstating their winnings and forgetting their losses faster not because they want to lie about it, but rather it's our brain that tries to hold on to happy memories over bad memories. It's just in human nature to focus more on the good things than the bad ones. That is why I think it's important to keep some form of summary on how much money we win and lose in gambling. This doesn't mean that we should record every bet, in my case I try to write down my weekly balances and every time I deposit or withdraw money. It's getting a bit complicated when using multiple casinos, but it will help us in the long run to stay on top of our finances. Also when talking with friends about gambling profits and losses I am always a bit cautious to blindly trust them everything they tell me. In a conversation when drinking some alcohol you always want to look a bit cooler than in reality. It's like when telling people about our weight, we will always take a few kilos off to make the world seem a bit better. The same is when it comes to profit in gambling, that is why don't trust other people blindly when they want to share their winning strategy in gambling.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 02, 2023, 08:02:20 AM

what lessons can be learned by this event?

It's not new that Drake enjoys posting his betting slips online. I think for the last few Super Bowl matches he used to bet really big. Just this year he bet almost 1 million USD on the big NFL game and won. His profit on the big bet was around 500,000 USD, so he is totally fine to cover his loss on the Jake Paul fight. These big bets are really flashy for the average gambler and makes me a bit jealous. But we shouldn't look at the bet alone, we should take it into relation against the net worth of Drake. He is worth more than 250 millions USD, so a 400k USD bet is not really big for him. I don't think there is much to learn from this bet, he wins some and he losses some. The big loss would bankrupt any normal gambler, but for Drake it's only pocket change. He can always release a new song and make more millions.
1295  Economy / Gambling / Re: Researching for Upcoming Game on: March 01, 2023, 02:59:03 PM
Recently, I'd thought about casinos creating a general overview of the list of crypto casinos both from the past and existing and the new ones coming onboard for gamblers to see and develop interest on them, this will help in having a collection of various games and when they have being added to the casino or the general information needed about a particular game, but most importantly gamblers prefers the new coming games having a different dimension of approach in gambling.

That sounds like a great idea, there have been so many different casinos over the years with a large variety of games. We all know the most popular casino games, but maybe there have been some casinos in the past with quite innovative games that everybody has forgotten about. Before the crypto gambling boom in 2020-21 which came with the covid lockdowns, it was quite hard for online casinos to attract a lot of new gamblers. Having a summary of all the type of games that were around already, would give a good indication for casinos if they really are developing something or just bring old games back. It would also help to do some research about popularity of some games. It sounds like a lot of work to create a database for it and I would expect casinos to pay money for such kind of information.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: March 01, 2023, 02:30:45 PM
This is why I cringe whenever I hear or read stories of people who blame gambling for the loss of their entire life's saving or some negative consequence. The act of Gambling in itself is neutral. It is not to be blame for the harm that has befallen the individual but rather the individual's inability to control their emotions, finances, and time. I strongly encourage every newbie gambler as well as experienced gamblers to take responsibility for their actions and not using gambling as a scapegoat for their lack of discipline. If you approach gambling with discipline and self-control you will find that that it can be a fun and relaxing activity. Who else thinks so too?

I fully agree with you, gambling is neutral as nobody forces us to visit a casino and place bets with our personal money. Every person can decide for themselves if we wants to take the risk of losing money to get the chance of winning money. Someone who made a lot of money with gambling will say it's good, and someone who lost will say its bad. These are all personal experiences and don't hold true for the general population. All the people who lost money with gambling where hoping first to make a profit with it. And if they had won at the casino they would not publicly say that gambling is wrong. I can understand people who are against casinos and don't like gambling, but playing yourself and then talking bad about casinos after losing is wrong. The winning chances of all the casino games are publicly available.
1297  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: February 28, 2023, 07:42:11 AM
As a bitcoin supporter, would you consider adding bitcoin to your retirement savings, or do you prefer the traditional 401(K) or IRA? If yes, to what degree? 100%, 75 %, 50%? Also, do you think that accepting bitcoin into your retirement savings account is a form of the DCA method?

Adding bitcoin to your retirement account is an interesting idea, but at this point in time I would probably not do it. As far as I know in my country there is not yet an option to add bitcoin to your retirement savings. There might some specialised insurance company focusing on it. The government retirement money in my country is not invested though, it's being paid out directly each year. When it comes to retirement money I think that we need to focus on very safe investment that have no real chance to lose money, that is why I would stay away from stocks and other risky assets. Once we look at our retirement fund as a very safe investment, we can use our own savings account to start trading more aggressive. Everybody can buy bitcoins for themselves, we don't need an insurance company to do it for us. The benefit of us buying cryptos directly is that we are in charge and we can sell and buy more when we feel the market is in our favour. Assuming that the longterm trend of bitcoins is upwards, then any retirement savings account is a DCA method on bitcoins. The only problem is that there is no option to sell any coins over a long period of time.
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bold step to invest my fiat in Bitcoin on: February 28, 2023, 07:31:15 AM
But I really had to take my Time to understand the whole volatility of Bitcoin before taking this bold step.

So everyone should join me and celebrate this purchase as it went through without any stress and please help me show my image for other viewers as my rank prohibits me to

Congratulations for making your first crypto purchases. You made the right decision and in a few years you will look back at this moment and see that should have not worry so much about it. It's always good to first fully understand something before your invest your money into it. Volatility is back deal in the bitcoin market which worries some investors, but it's also that high volatility which lets the bitcoin price jump upwards 50% in a few months. Without volatility we wouldn't make a lot of money of it. Two things I recommend you to focus on, first of all make sure you have a secure wallet so that you don't face the risk of losing your coins. The second thing I would focus on is longterm growth of your crypto portfolio, keep buying new coins when you have some money to save and don't worry so much about shortterm price movements. When prices drop it's usually a good time to add to our holdings.
1299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: February 27, 2023, 12:21:01 PM
If you were told the outcome of a soccer match, hours before the match was scheduled, and you were assured that it would 100% win, how much would you be willing to bet on it? Assuming it was a 100% can’t lose situation.

Assuming you had millions of dollars that you could put on the match, where would you place the bets? Bookies often limit players. How could one successfully place millions of dollars in bets without drawing up suspicions or having their money frozen? Just curious.

If I would ever come into such a situation we should use all the money we can get our hands on to bet on the match. Step one, sell all stocks and crypto assets I own, Step 2 take out loans if that can be done in a few hours, otherwise just use all credit cards and go into maximum overdraft. Step 3 call friends and family to ask for money. If its really a 100% sure game than we should be betting the maximum. But I would not bet everything at one bookmaker, better to spread it out across all the major platforms.
1300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: February 27, 2023, 12:04:06 PM
Same thing also applies to the elderly as I've also read news of people trying to get some retirees investing their pensions into crypto rather than advising them to relax and enjoy their pension and I really wanted to know if it's wise to get kids and elderly into the crypto industry.

I don't think it's a good idea to get retirees to invest large sums of their savings into crypto currencies. Bitcoins are still volatile and when you are old it's very hard to plan ahead. You could become sick suddenly and need money for your care. When all your savings are in bitcoins you could before forced at very unfavourable prices. Better to have only short term savins accounts. Something else would be if you plan to leave money for your children and grand children. Then we could leave them bitcoins and other crypto currencies, we only need to make sure that they know how to access the wallet and will not lose it.
