2301  Economy / Gambling / Re: KUDOS to StrikeSapphire on: August 04, 2011, 05:33:39 PM
Hey, this just made my day! As it happens, we processed this morning's withdrawals about an hour ago. Congratulations on the win, and thanks for the stellar review!!!
Hey, thanks for such a great site ...... unfortunately I just had to make another withdrawl Wink

I do have a question though:

Will a player's or Game's Odds be affected by Player luck/skill/past performance/stats etc ?

I guess what I am asking is, is the system 'Getting to know me' ?
2302  Economy / Gambling / KUDOS to StrikeSapphire on: August 04, 2011, 07:43:39 AM
So, being a bit hesitant trying an online Casino for the first time, I decided to sign up for a 'Play Money' account @ StrikeSapphire - www.StrikeSapphire.com

I figure I gave it a good 3 day run with my Casino-provided 'Play Money' to test the waters out and get a good idea of Payouts, as well as luck on my part.

My biggest concern was that the FREE PLAY would have had definate odds in favor of the User, just to suck you in, then BOOM, the minute you deposite and begin playing with Real Money/BitCoin, it would bleed you dry.

Well, I can say for certain that the FREE ODDS ARE THE SAME AS THE 'REAL MONEY' ODDS and I couldn't be happier.....or more impressed.

I am neither employed by, affiliated with, nor compensated in any way, shape or form by StrikeSapphire. I just really enjoy the service and was pleasantly surprised to find FAIR ONLINE GAMING.

Good Job to StrikeSapphire !

Top Notch Interface, High Quality Gaming Experience.....
I will definately be back....providing my withdrawl goes smoothly tonight that is Wink

This was about the most fun 60-odd minutes I experienced today.

Cheers,
Allan (Bitlane)
2303  Economy / Goods / Re: FS - 3 Shambhala Music Festival Tickets on: August 03, 2011, 09:00:24 PM
To sweeten the seller's deal, I am also offering to pay BTC to anyone willing to go there as a Suicide Bomber and end this travesty once and for all.
I grew up in that area of BC and I find this Festival rediculous. I will pay upon your return Wink

Does this mean I don't get to buy the Xbox ?
2305  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling MINECRAFT PREMIUM account! [1BTC] on: July 31, 2011, 06:34:49 PM
I'm selling 1 Minecraft PREMIUM account for only 1BTC.

insideofkidage@hotmail.com

Kind regards

I will take it if I can pay upon confirmation that it works.
2306  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling XBOX 360 - arcade 256mb - GTA IV, Army Of Two&Saints Row 1 - 1controller on: July 31, 2011, 06:32:45 PM
He offered me 50BTC for my Macbook I have listed and he said "I will pay upon delivery."

I believe he's up to no good.

Well that's great. That means that he would be MORE THAN WILLING to ship the Xbox360 and allow me to make payment upon delivery, considering teh small amount next to your MacBook Wink

...Still waiting for Shipper's Info. Still Interested.
2307  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling XBOX 360 - arcade 256mb - GTA IV, Army Of Two&Saints Row 1 - 1controller on: July 31, 2011, 06:22:53 PM
I am interested.

Where are you shipping from ?

I have a RROD'd Xbox and a full HDD, so this would be perfect for me.
2308  Economy / Goods / Re: WANTED: Mining Cards shipped to Canada for BTC on: July 31, 2011, 06:04:42 AM

Unfortunately, I can already purchase that card in Canada for less than your opening bid, but I appreciate the offer just the same.
Thanks,

2311  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: RPC Miners (CPU/4way/CUDA/OpenCL) on: July 29, 2011, 06:58:45 AM
When using the CUDA miner in Guiminer, I am quite happy with the performance, although, when attempting to STOP the miner, it locks up my machine(s) SOLID......requiring the use of the RESET button.

Is this something unique to my situation ?

I have experienced this on a few machines, all running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 using the Guiminer front end.

Ufasofft i was wondering if you could make an build that uses only half of the power that computer has, like if it has 2 CPS to use just 1 or so?
I would like this low build because it will allow you're computer to do other things when you are using the miner whitout any lag or so.
You can already do this using CPU AFFINITY if you are using Guiminer as a front end.
Looks like I was wrong, although not entirely.

On my Core2Duo/Quad systems, I need to use the -t flag.

On my Core i7 systems, I can use the Guiminer CPU affinity to set the number of threads in real time, without the need for a stop/start.

On my Dual Xeon X5500 (i7 platform/LGA1366 Dual), I can watch each of it's 16 threads come to life or die when switched either on or off using Guiminer's affinity checkboxes.....same with my i7 920 8 thread systems.

I have nothing AMD-CPU-based to test......
2313  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: To the owner of http://www.flexcoin.com/, A Scamming site on: July 25, 2011, 01:33:15 PM
Let's face it. EVERYTHING in the Bitcoin realm can be considered or suspected of being a SCAM due to the fact that there is ZERO recourse for unhappy patrons of bitcoin-purchased goods and services, due to the lack of a higher authority to complain to in case of wrong doing. Everything will be built on TRUST and REPUTATION so let people build on that, wether it be positive or negative before pasing judgement.

Long story short - those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

And to the other people who see this post, please never, ever trust such site who's running by a private person.
You are absolutely correct. If this financial world in general has taught us one thing, it is that it's better to spread the accountability and trust a nameless/faceless corporation with your money/investments  Roll Eyes

To the other people reading this post, please never, ever trust such a person who's only contribution to a community is criticism of other's attemps with no other contributions to speak of, or to call their own.
2316  Bitcoin / Project Development / [FREE HOSTING] Bitcoin 'Community' Development on: July 20, 2011, 05:20:13 PM
I currently have a bunch of spare storage space and bandwidth on a WHM/Cpanel Linux Hosting Server that I contract, that serves as a secondary backup of sorts for other Client services that I currently offer professionally as part of my business. The server is located in Dallas Texas in the Planet Datacenter.

Long story short:

I would like to offer FREE Website Hosting/Email etc to those who currently are in some way, a part of the Bitcoin Community, more specifically, Developers, Promoters, along with anyone that works towards making the Bitcoin Community more mainstream and widely acceptable.

Again, I am offering this as a FREE SERVICE, although I will definately accept Bitcoin Donations from those who find this somewhat valuable.

** Keeping with the spirit of the offer, the only people or organizations that I would say, would not qualify the free/donation offer, would be those who only offer PAY-PER SERVICES or PRODUCTS.

** Those currently working on a FREE or DONATION basis as their form of compensation for what it is that they do, are more than welcome to contact me, as these are the organizations or individuals I initially had in mind when considering this proposal to the community.

What I can offer:
1) Free Fully Featured Linux/Cpanel Hosting Account (user supplied Domain name, point it to my server account, located in Planet#6 Dallas TX).
2) Free sub-domain hosting account (YOU.btcdev.com or YOU.btcdev.ca) with private Root/FTP access only (no control panel).

With Option#1, you will have full control over every aspect of your hosting account.
With Option#2, I will have to work with you, to setup email addresses/databases etc (if required).

I am just interested in adding what I can to the Community and this is an easy one for me to put on the table....

Post here or PM me if you are interested in anything from a 'test drive' to simply more information.....or if you have any suggestions at all.

Cheers,
Allan

2317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MultiPSU setup: Who is running them? on: July 20, 2011, 02:21:17 PM
Back to the twin PSU question.....

I am going to setup 2 systems using dual PSU's, as I just had a couple dozen PCIe x1/x2/x4/x8/x16 cables show up....so time to LOAD UP the 6+PCIe motherboards with video cards.

To make it work as easilly (and safely as I can think)....
PSU#1 as normal. A spare 12v output from a 4pin Molex connector on PSU#1 to 12v DC Relay, to ground out 'Green' and a Ground on 24pin of PSU#2 to activate.

Easy, peasy, Japanesey....

Just throw a relay fed from PSU#1 to/and split this connection on PSU#2 to activate....(fuse connection if concerned)
2318  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [NR 1] Triplemining.com <> BIG jackpot every week <> on: July 20, 2011, 06:22:13 AM
How about something as simple as a 60min CONNECTION REFUSAL based on worker login/pass at the beginning of a new round for those who were not part of the previous round for atleast 90% of it ?

It's usually after the 1 hour mark into a round that the Pool hoppers tend to begin leaving again anyways......
2319  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Ufasoft Miner Thread - SSE2-optimized for Intel CPUs, version 0.18 (2011-July) on: July 20, 2011, 05:37:56 AM
.......you need to do thus:....... -g <yes or no for using the gpu)
Thank you very much for this info. This helps a great deal and was exactly what I needed to put my CPUs to work without negatively affecting GPU performance.

" -g no " is a life saver Wink

For reference: Ufasoft bitcoin.miner.exe v0.13
- Intel Xeon X3220 Quad (stock speed, 2.40GHz) 11.4 MH/s (all 4 threads).
- Intel Q6600 Quad Core (stock speed, 2.40GHz) 11.6 MH/s (all 4 threads).
- Intel Core i7 920 Quad (stock speed, 2.67GHz) 13.2 MH/s (4 threads, 2 cores + hyperthreading)

**Xeon X3220 & Q6600 are essentially the same CPU/clock/bus speed/LGA775 Platform.

Cheers,
Allan

<EDIT>
Running the latest version of Guiminer (guiminer-20110701), the Ufasoft version was v0.13. Upgrading the 'bitcoin-miner.exe' with the latest v0.18 Windows Binary resulted in a 0.2 - 0.4 MH/s increase on each CPU I use it on, with nothing else changed (above results are from v0.13).

#137140   ORPHAN   50.069   July 20, 2011   10 hours   913309    YES

Block invalid?

I would like to know as well.

Block link is active/valid....but we lost the payout ?

Does anyone know if ORPHAN = INVALID ?

<EDIT>

Looks like I got my answer..... https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Block_chain

Quote
Blocks in shorter chains (or invalid chains) are called "orphan blocks", and while they are stored, they are not used for anything. When a block becomes an orphan block, all of its valid transactions are re-added to the pool of queued transactions and will be included in another block. The 50 BTC reward for the orphan block will be lost, which is why a network-enforced 100-block maturation time for generations exists.
