Are Windows users able to specify Voltage settings in CGMiner using 7970's ? (and have them work correctly ?)
1402  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 7970, CGMiner 2.4.0, Win7x64 - 100% CPU, Dummy Plugs, MemDiff on: May 11, 2012, 10:50:33 PM
Is it worth going back to CAT 12.2 ?

Scratch that idea..... I'll stick with dummy plugs for now.
1403  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 7970, CGMiner 2.4.0, Win7x64 - 100% CPU, Dummy Plugs, MemDiff on: May 11, 2012, 10:34:12 PM
You can only run intensity over 9 on linux without the CPU usage shooting up.

Thanks.

How about the need for dummy plugs again in Windows ?
1404  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 7970, CGMiner 2.4.0, Win7x64 - 100% CPU, Dummy Plugs, MemDiff on: May 11, 2012, 10:08:34 PM
Using 'Dynamic Intensity' (rather than I 11 as suggested for 7970's) seems to have solved the CPU being pegg'd @ 100%....although I have taken a performance hit.

Any Windows 7xxx miners care to chime in ?

<EDIT>
-I 9 seems to let the CPU Idle nicely (and the performance hit isn't as bad as using Dynamic Intensity). -I 10 and above peggs the CPU to 100% (for me in Windows anyways).
1405  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / 7970, CGMiner 2.4.0, Win7x64 - 100% CPU, Dummy Plugs, MemDiff on: May 11, 2012, 09:43:57 PM
I think I just wet myself.....

7970's are the 'Tits'.

I just realized that my test rig running 2 cards is also running a simple little Corsair 600W 80+ Power Supply and running 1.3GH/s, not skipping a beat.
(for how long, I can only guess, but I will get proper power to the permanent rigs.....LOL)

I am pleased....

I just got my first batch of 7970's and I am struggling a bit.....
I have been a miner for a year now and have a complete handle on it, but this jump to 7xxx cards has turned me back into a newb.

Test Setup:
- MSI 770-G45 Motherboard, Sempron 145 CPU
- 2x 7970 Reference Models
- CAT 12.3 (using included SDK) *NO CCC Installed*
- Win7 x64
- CGMiner 2.4.0 (-I 11 --gpu-powertune 5 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memdiff -150)

THE GOOD:
- Insane Performance.
- Good Card Temps.

THE BAD:
- CPU Usage @ 100% Using -I 9 without any problems now.
- No Secondary Card MEM control unless I use a DUMMY PLUG (tried with CCC installed, then removed, same result) I'll just use dummy plugs for now.

Could anyone who is currently running Windows, using multiple cards, please share your experiences ?
Going back to 100% CPU usage and dummy plugs SUCKS...
Please help.[/size]

Cheers,
bitlane.

......shipped with 3 fans total and a declocked bitstream....

The above statement along with a 6 month warranty make me happy that BFL took 2 days to answer my email in regards to a near $10,000 USD order that I was informed may be available in 6-8 weeks.

I will keep a candle burning for you all and pray that your 6 month warrantied miners don't end up being 7 month old paperweights.

1409  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 10, 2012, 10:19:44 AM
I don't think there has to be anybody on the losing end. Say someone has a unique opportunity to turn $100 into $150 (say by buying something wholesale and selling it retail). So they borrow some Bitcoins, sell them for $100, turn the $100 into $150, buy $110 in Bitcoins, give those Bitcoins to the lender and pocket $40 in profit. Who is the loser here?

The borrower lost $10 of his profits on the bitcoin deal, and you could argue whoever bought or sold the wholesale something lost $50. At least they missed a $50 opportunity. This becomes semantics quickly because you may just as well say reselling those products created $50 of value to the customers, but the question regarding Pirate then remains roughly the same.
The deal wouldn't have happened if he hadn't borrowed, since he wouldn't have had the funds to purchase the widget. Without borrowing he would have stayed at 0, with borrowing he gained $40. He profited $40 from the borrowing.

Same for the retail customers - without the borrowing they wouldn't have a widget, with the borrowing they have a widget, they paid $150 but it's worth more than that to them.

Again, the whole concept of commerce relies on the possibility of two parties to enter a mutually beneficial agreement where none of them loses. In our example both the lending and the retail sale are such agreements.

What if the borrowed/invested BTC were actually the widgets in question ?

Profit Breakdown of XY:
x% - buy more BTC to replace member-invested BTC & pay interest.
y% - LIVE OFF THE REST OF THE PROFITS LIKE A NORMAL PERSON WOULD DO ASSUMING BITCOIN IS THEIR PRIMARY SOURCE OF INCOME OR JOB.

Fuck, is it REALLY that difficult for everyone to understand ?

PEOPLE HAVE TO EAT....and NONE of you so-called GENIUSES EVER MENTIONED OR CONSIDERED THAT.....HENCE KEEPING 3RD PARTY BTC 'INVESTED'.

Ponzi, Sky is falling, tin-foil hats....FUCK ME.
Get a life.

It's too bad that my account was never activated, when I signed up the other day.

Someone lost out on a SHITLOAD of BTC.....
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=80255.0

Thanks anyways.

Since you paid with your $ at NCIX, don't you still have >1500 BTC left?  Simply buy 15 more 7970s!  Then you'd be styling!  Think of us for your next purchase anyway!

I already am thinking about you guys for my next Media Server Build.
I got a woody for that 10-bay hot-swap 4U and I think it will fit the bill.

As far as my account activation, the email I received said this:

Quote
bitlane,

Thank you for registering at WTCR - Winnipeg Technology and Computer Renewal.
Your application for an account is currently pending approval. Once it has been approved, you will receive another e-mail containing information about how to log in, set your password, and other details.

If you could email me a password, that would be cool.

I simply waited for a second email that never came...LOL

Next time.

BTC + Canada = Win Win for me.

Wait... we banned him? Huh. I'll have to ask theymos about that...

Oh, I also laughed when he said he got booted out of #bitcoin. Honestly, this is his own fault.

He might have blamed you for your moderating, but I got named in the video for harassment....LOL

Do I owe him 100 BTC now ?

I should also add.....

There are people crying on this forum almost DAILY in regards to 'Boycott DeepBit....stop the chance of a 51% attack....blah...cry...whine...'

How about BOYCOTT MT.GOX - SAY NO TO A 99% MONOPOLY AND SHIT SERVICE.

It's time for people to see the BIG picture.
1415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox Collapsing (and taking bitcoin down with them?) on: May 10, 2012, 02:51:58 AM
2) Wire transfers take an avergage of three or four weeks. MtGox is finding ways to stall wires citing AML reasons left and right. Wires seem to get magically processed as soon as the recipient posts on this forum. Goat had some ficticious situation manufactured in order to delay a rather big wire:

Do the math.
Do you have any idea how much Interest they are able to make from your money if they delay a wire transfer ?
It's not like MtGox deal in small amounts of fiat.

Users MUST demand more from them.

Competition for them is also a MUST, or they will simply continue to keep the Bitcoin Community in their back pocket.

Operating virtually unopposed is a recipe for clusterfuckery at best and YOU SUFFER, not them.

Ha ha ha ha!

Canadians...

You don't know the half of it !

I still have nearly a grand left over in my Paypal account and at this point, I have to 'make-shit-up' to buy before she gets her hands on my Paypal Debit Card.......

Somehow BTC is safe, but once converted to 'real money' it seems fair game for her...and I gotta get this shit spent...LOL

I see you have a subtitle saying "Internet Detective"...

I openly busted BitScalper's ORIGINAL owner trying to re-sell his Bot under a new username (after officially receiving a SCAMMER TAG under his original profile/username) in the Newbie Forum....all thanks to his kind grammar and my experiences with him Wink
1418  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] ATI Radeon 5850 reference card - FAST SHIPPING on: May 10, 2012, 01:22:44 AM
This is my first sell with BTC over 1 so lol please be nice.

I will ship for free to USA.  I SHIP SUPER FAST.  I DO EBAY FOR A LIVING!

Escrow accepted if you want but you must ask DeathAndTaxes - no offense to anyone but I just saw him before do this and he was professional.

I am asking 29 BTC [or best offer] for the card!  Guaranteed working, I am mining with it right now at 399 mhash.

Card is great.  I just want bigger stuff and kinda just want to do a BTC deal on this forum.

Silly boy.

Properly setup 5850 is:
1) Best Power Cunsumption per $
2) Best MH per $
3) Best $ value overall

I say, keep it and sell something else.

Fuck them... Have you seen the color of my ignore button? lol
I don't see those colors, I use the black theme Tongue

2.2x as dark as mine with 2.2x the posts. I AM RIGHT ON TRACK Wink

We 'outcasts' need to stick together....LOL

I am afraid that eventually, there may only be 5-8 people able to SEE my posts, rather than simply ignoring me....hehe
