As per Forum Policy....

Why hasn't Rexcoin received the SCAMMER Tag yet ?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61782.0

He has defaulted on more than 1 loan, yet nothing has been done.

He SHOULD HAVE been labelled a scammer while he was still an active forum member....now I doubt he will ever return.

I just wanted to report in and say, performance today is awesome.....

Not sure what changed, but it worked and all my miners are sending work in at full speeds and not slowing down.

Thanks for your hard work Pirate.
1763  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 18, 2012, 12:53:40 AM
No, our failover support coming will handle these type of issues.

The only reason I am asking is, I am having a difficult time seeing the benefit of introducing another point of failure into the equation.

I use the same Pool for my GPUMAX Public Pool, as I do for my locally set backup pool in CGMiner and I see this quite a bit:

Even when GPUMAX is sending work via the single proxy account (worker#6) connection issues etc still send work to my (workers #1-5) locally setup backup worker accounts.

I figured it was worth mentioning.....
1764  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 18, 2012, 12:29:35 AM
We have had a few issues moving our database around and getting things working properly.  One of the big issues/bug is when your offline pool is pointed to a dead pool it puts a huge load on the system.  We are working to fix this but its been slow going with all the other work.  The system should be working as it should now but like I've said before, this is our beta and want to thank everyone for reporting issues like this so we can get them all worked out now.

Is there any way we can simply REMOVE our Pool info, so that when there is no Leased Work to be done, our miners are free to connect directly to our backup pool rather than via proxy ?
I just find that my speeds suffer when doing so as well as an overall increase in Stales/Rejects etc.

Could this be a possibility ?
1765  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 17, 2012, 10:01:42 PM
I've had to re-start a few of my miners multiple times today. What is happening with GPUMAX that is kicking the crap out of me today ?

The work que seems to empty out, communication lost, then BAM! sick card(s) in CGMiner.

I've had this happen a couple of times in the past (once every couple of days or so) but today is once an hour or more.

What's happening ?

How many USB ports does the Asus EEE PC 900A Netbook have ?
ALSO...what model# of Atom CPU & Motherboard chipset ?
1767  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Power Savings from MEM Underclock, BIOS Flash 6xxx series on: February 17, 2012, 06:09:28 PM
You will start getting less MHash if you go below 300. I found that 400 was the best for me.

Is that just for the 6xxx Cards ?
I actually increase MH/s on my 5xxx cards going under 300Mhz MEM, depending on the overclock.
I run my 5830's all @ 975/175 on stock voltage and get 5-8MH/s MORE than if running @ 300Mhz Mem.
1768  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Power Savings from MEM Underclock, BIOS Flash 6xxx series on: February 17, 2012, 06:01:21 PM
18-25watts per card would be my educated guess.
I was hoping to hear around 20W/card.....so if that's correct, that would definitely suffice.

Do you think there is much improvement in power savings going further under the 300Mhz MEM mark ?
...say, the difference between 300Mhz and 180Mhz-ish ? could THAT potentially gain a few extra watts as well ?
1769  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Power Savings from MEM Underclock, BIOS Flash 6xxx series on: February 17, 2012, 05:44:16 PM
I currently have (6) 6xxx series cards in my farm running quite well and considering neither of the 2 models I own are worth jack shit for resale, I figure I would simply run them into the ground and mine them till they die.
They all run extremely stable and cool (under 69c with 50% fan speeds on average or less), so heat is not an issue. I would just like to 'Free Up' a few extra watts from each wall socket that they are plugged into for further expansion.

I have:
- 2x Reference 1GB HD 6870's (limited to 100Mhz mem/gpu clock spread)....currently running 975Mhz GPU/875Mhz MEM on stock Voltage using CGMiner/Win7x64.
- 2x Asus DCUII 1GB HD 6950's  (limited to 125Mhz mem/gpu clock spread)...currently running 900Mhz GPU/775Mhz MEM on stock voltage using CGMiner/Win7x64.
- 2x XFX ZNFC 1GB HD 6950's  (limited to 125Mhz mem/gpu clock spread)....currently running 900Mhz GPU/775Mhz MEM on stock voltage using CGMiner/Win7x64.

(None of the 6950's support Shader unlocking unfortunately)

What I am wondering is...
What kind of power savings could I potentially gain by flashing the above 6 card's BIOS's, underclocking the memory to 300Mhz from their current values ?
....an average 'guess' is fine. I am not expecting dead-nuts numbers.

Anyone care to make an estimate PER CARD ?

Thanks in advance,
bitlane.

This is why you have backup pools.....

Thanks Captain Obvious, although I also would have accepted:

"That is why we have a forum to report problems to the service host to help with Beta testing" Wink

Rest assured that if gpumax is not accepting shares, pirate is on it.

You can always get on freenode in the #gpumax channel to talk about your issues there.

Hope this helps.

IRC scares me.... too many strangers on the interweb with the promise of pre-paid plane tickets waiting at the airport and such. I just don't feel safe....but then again, my IRC handle is Brittny_15 ...... I wonder if THAT has anything to do with it ?

Oh Ohh.....

It just got really quiet around here for a minute or so and now no communication with GPUMAX....

If it was automatic, I'd have to find a tin-foil hat and be worried about who knew what Smiley

I was ready to start reaching for my tin-foil hat for a second...LOL

Yes, received.  Even has your name next to it in the client.  Smiley
Automatically ? or because you pre-labelled it ?

1777  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Free Bitcoins! Change your avatar to Freddie Prinze Jr! on: February 16, 2012, 11:35:56 PM
LOL. It seems my hard approach to scammers has struck a chord with some of the members that had to go through the same procedure with these useless lying scammers on this forum.

I think taking the hard on approach is much more productive in the end with these repetitive scammers.

They see us as easy prey and they come and bite time and time again for easy $$$.

If they find out that we CAN be bothered and we WILL investigate and punish them then maybe they will consider stopping their scamming.

I think it could be a case of the same bunch of scammers coming again and again for the easy bite. If we can teach them otherwise then that is another win for BTC not to be seen as the currency of scammers and for bitcointalk.org as the forum of scams.

Thank you for the support bitlane ! Hope you like my new line alongside the FPJ avatar Cheesy

Hey, I'm with YOU on this one. My only concern was how quickly you posted his personal data. You could have used it as a 'Playing Card' and kept it 'in the hole' rather than playing it so quickly Wink

You and I have had great arguments in the past, here and on BTC-E Exchange, but I still know you are a decent guy (if not a bit of a hot head like me) and I can appreciate that. What's right is what's right.
I just think you 'jumped' too quickly and played out a great bargaining chip too soon Wink
1778  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Free Bitcoins! Change your avatar to Freddie Prinze Jr! on: February 16, 2012, 11:17:52 PM
Therefore, to compensate you for your emotional distress, I can offer you 0.05 BTC when you change your avatar back to Freddie Jr.

Could the amount, instead, be donated to the bulanula 'Get my $4 back' Fund ?
1779  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 20 BTC Short-Term Loan on: February 16, 2012, 11:12:08 PM
That's why his post is a black flag -- he's generally optimistic.

I get it now....sorry for the confusion Wink
1780  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BEWARE OF BULA NULA on: February 16, 2012, 11:10:23 PM
You guys have to admit.....this quote is awesome....LOL

.....and mark my words Mr. Sam scammer : I will NOT stop until you give me my $4 back !

I do agree with you. There are definitely users who get away with alot of crap, then simply B-line it for the exits from here when the heat gets turned up.

A prime example of this is when I went after Rexcoin, questioning him after I had enough of his loan requests and sad stories.
I am almost certain that there are people on this forum that he owes BTC to for unpaid debts, that hold ME responsible for him running away and I would be more than happy to help compensate them if that's the case.

I hope this gets resolved amicably because if memory serves me, didn't ex-user Mu50tang (or whatever his name was) also have problems on his first attempt at a pool....?  something about difficulty, payouts and long rounds. DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT, I'm just 'shootin from the hip' with what I remember in the POOLS forum a while back....AND I COULD BE COMPLETELY OFF THE MARK AND 100% WRONG (feel free to comment and correct me if so)....

Good luck with the $4. I'm here for ya Wink
