I've got $30 PayPal (gift, f&f) and would like $28 worth of BTC. Trusted members only.
Before anyone says about PayPal being reversible I know and if you look at my feedback you can see I've done lots of trades before.
Thanks.

Well that post seems highly suspicious ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Sidehack wanted to do an upgrade board for the S1/S3/S5 but he couldn't get any chips from any manufacturer ... (new gen chip).
I remember the community miner project thread. It's a shame nothing has come of it really.

Im not after another miner (but thanks for the offer). Already got a "sidehacked" S7LN now ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Just wondering if no one wants it if it could be of use for something else mining related or raspberry pi related etc etc.

Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it in a few times while cgminer is running? The gekko version of cgminer allows for hotplugging of devices.
Tried this a number of times. Cgminer hotplugs the miner; it detects it in all different USB ports, but the miner itself is not reset and does not restart ("fails to respond to restart"). White led continues to be on all the time. In that case I would refer back to the place you bought it (if new). If not then Sidehack or Novak MIGHT be able to help if you ask nicely ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) But it is totally at their discretion.

I'd change the hub to be honest. I use a d-link h7 hub which works fine for my two gekkos (yes I know you have an issue with more than three at a time). Get a cheap powered one and see how you get on.

I think all versions of cgminer support hot plugging devices, it was one of the things I used to have to do to get my U3 to hash. My mistake. Ive always run everything on the gekko version ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Woohoo!! A black block, hopefully we will see black and greens on the board soon and get enough of them so I can break even this month ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Hi guys, Ive got an old S3+ that's got a dead board. Ive posted in the for sale section but no replies even for spares (I know its an outdated piece of hardware). So I'm curious to see if anyone has managed to repurpose the chassis for anything else? Pictures are always good if you have them ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

As said above a powered hub is best. Alternatively you can get a "Y" type USB splitter cable and use two ports to power one gekko. To check what the core voltage is set at there are terminals on the back. Get a multimeter and put positive on "vccore" and negative on "gnd" that should show you what the core voltage is. I run mine on a powered hub with Ycables going to USB ports on an Atx breakout board aswell so they've got plenty of juice. Currently running at 230m and core voltage is about 0.65-0.68v.

Welcome. First things first we need to know how you are running it. powered hub or non-powered hub? Where abouts is the voltage dial set? What freq have you got it set at? Pictures would be useful ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

hi everyone,
I have a half working S3+. One hashing board does not work for some unknown reason. Its just sitting under my desk gathering dust. Im open to offers for it as a whole or prices for parts.
Shipping is to the UK only for now as it works out very expensive to send abroad (probably more than the parts are worth).
Comment here or PM
Thanks.

Of course, I fully understand the hashrate has fallen and the difficulty has increased. Just wishful thinking I guess ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

I hope things pick up soon. I looked through my previous transactions to see how many blocks per month we are getting. We used to get 10 blocks per month (well since ive been mining here). I'm hoping last month was just a bad month with only 6 as I need minimum 10 blocks a month to break even with the small share I earn ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

Well looks like the watercooled gekkos are on hold. Mountain bike needs sorting first, new bearings, cables and brakes ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) If anyone would like to donate for the watercooled gekko project (all the parts cost around £125) I will gladly accept as mining is only a hobby for me as electricity is £0.13 per kwh here.

Do you guys think a 15mm waterblock would be sufficient surface area?
I think it's sufficient. Make sure you use a good thermal adhesive tape. The EU versions used the insulating 3M 8810 with a ceramic core. I PMed you a drawing with the screw positions. MacEntyre bitshopper.de Yeah, the chip is 8mm per side. Somewhere in this thread I posted the mechanical specs for the heatsink if you want to know screw positions or anything.
Thank you guys. I'll take a look at the details and see what I come up with. This is all subject to cost at the moment though ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

I'm seriously looking into doing a little water cooling setup for my two gekkos. I've seen a couple of videos of people water cooling raspberry pis so it's definitely do-able although still not found a USB pump yet.
What I need to know is the size of the chip. I've looked at the data sheet and it said 8 bsc. Is that 8mm? I can get a small water block that's 15mm square but the heatsink on the bitshopper gekko is 24mm square. Do you guys think a 15mm waterblock would be sufficient surface area?
