1362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCIe risers ver 006 not working on: July 09, 2017, 12:32:10 PM
If youve got new powered risers then you must power them. I tried using new risers without power and they didnt work.
1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My Ethereum mining stats suck- what am I doing wrong? on: July 09, 2017, 09:23:54 AM
You will be very lucky if you get that rock solid at that mem clock. But it has been known to happen on here.
1364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI GEFORCE GTX 1060 VS ZOTAC GEFORCEŽ GTX 1050 on: July 09, 2017, 08:15:43 AM
Simply dont use any GPU to mine bitcoins. Bitcoin mining is done with ASICs and has been for a while now. The most recent and efficient at the moment is the Antminer S9 or T9. You can mine other coins with GPUs and if youtake the time to search the forum (search is at the top of the page) then you will find all the answers you need.

Thanks toptek but not sure if the first bit of info relates as its to do with the dag file which i have enough in my system to deal with.

The forum link i only see one bit simikar but dont know what the guy is on aboiut.
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: July 07, 2017, 09:29:45 PM
I keep getting " gpuminer cu_k1 failed 4" when running my two asus cards (micron) and it restarts. Huh
1367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Started using risers, now problems on: July 07, 2017, 09:21:50 PM
So ive started to use risers in anticipation of my order of two more Asus 1060 O6G cards getting back into stock and now ive run into more problems than i previoisly had. The setup is as follow:-

Asrock Z270 Pro4 Mobo
Corsair Vegeance DDR4 Ram (2x4Gb)
Intel i3 7300T
2x ASUS GTX1060-06G
1200w HP Server PSU running a 160w pico Psu.

4G decodin enabled and pcie settings are "auto".

Each riser has a 6pin connection direct to psu breakout board (sidehack/gekkoscience).
Each GPU has a 6pin connection direct to psu breakout board.

NO adaptors or Y cables have been used.

Basically i seem to be getting more of the error in Claymore that says "gpuminer cu_kd failed 4". Got it a few times when the two GPUS were direct to the mobo but mow on risers it seems to happen more and restarts. Has anyone had any experience with this?

P.S. when its working its obviously working as it should and getting the hashrate it should aswell.
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU Problem on: July 07, 2017, 09:13:08 PM
So turns out it was the PSU afterall. Managed to jerry rig my pico and server PSU together and get my mini rig up and running again.
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU Problem on: July 07, 2017, 06:48:57 PM
Thanks for the replies guys. But that wiuldnt expain why connecting the psu to an ATX breakout board only would produce the same results. Switch on, click, lack of power.

Most (or all?) cards that are shipped currently seem to have Hynix memory, really bad...

Zotac cards are running with Samsung memory.  If you want to find out what memory a GPU card is using, google image search the card name + "GPU-Z".  So for "Zotac 1060 GPU-Z", you'll get image search results that look like this:

This is how I determined which cards to avoid.  Plus Zotac cards seem to be in stock on Amazon more often, so double win.

-Fuse

That is one card, EVERY card has the chance to get any of the three memory types.
1371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU Problem on: July 07, 2017, 06:40:09 PM
It was what i had left over from a small btc rig of gekko sticks etc. It has worked fine until i switched it off and then reassembled the rig in its new orientation and tried to boot up. Ive got a pico psu and waiting on a custom cable to power it from a 6pin connector as ive got a 1200w hp server platinum psu with gekkoscience (sidehack) breakout board which will power everything.

Just need someone to confirm that it is the psu thats dead seeing as the old psu i found in a cupboard switched the mobo on.
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU Problem on: July 07, 2017, 06:05:32 PM
Nothing was connected to the mobo. Just tried the 24pin breakout board with a multimeter attached and got a brief 12v which sooned dropped to 0.

Just found a really old (10plus years) psu and connected the 24pin and the mobo fired up. Didnt get anything out the screen but it hasnt got an 8pin connector. Hopefully i havent done any damage but still it stayed on for a few seconds until i switched it off.

So looks like the XFX XTS 520w fanless psu is dead. I did have a fan ontop of it and it was only running 170w while it was mining.
1373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PSU Problem on: July 07, 2017, 05:49:15 PM
Its been running for days. Just unplugged everything to move it around so i can mount the gpus on risers and now it doesnt fire up.

Got a 24pin breakout board i just tried on its own and it wont switch on with that either. Does that mean the PSU is dead now?
1374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / PSU Problem on: July 07, 2017, 05:34:40 PM
So ive just got some risers and installing them, move my rig about and sort out cables and now it wont fire up.

The psu clicks on and the processor fan spins a couple of times and then it stops. Only thing i have plugged in is the mobi 24pin and the CPU 8pin. Nothing else is plugged in (no hdd or gpus. Riseds are even unplugged. Literally the 24pin and 8pin power is connected from the psu. Only other cables attached is the VGA to the screen.

Anyone have any ideas?
1375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: July 06, 2017, 07:55:23 PM
Hello,

I have just purchased MSI GTX 1060 6GB from amazon , does anyone have info which memories does MSI use ? Samsung or hynix or micron ? Can it be any 3 of them ?

If someone has MSI gtx1060 , can he please tell which memory his card has ?

Thanks

Its a lottery as they all use all three types even in the same model cards. Download GPUz and see what memory it has.
1376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CORSAIR RM1000i 4+ GPU Does not Power on on: July 06, 2017, 05:33:26 AM
Firstly welcome to the forum. Secondly this needs to be in the "Mining (Altcoins)" section of the forum. Thirdly are you hsing any kind of plug adaptors, like molex -> 6pin etc?
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1 on: July 05, 2017, 08:38:30 PM
I'd like to give it a go but it doesnt pick up my two 1060's only rhe intel onboard graphics (primary as the hdmi port is being used so using the vga on the mobo).
1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: July 05, 2017, 06:32:52 PM
Found i downloaded the weong thing. Got the right thing and it starts but inly finds the processor onboard gpu.

Same bat file info as before.

Just a guess but try...
Make sure in your bios you've got the graphics priority set to external (or whatever the verbage is that means "use my card not the internal motherboard graphics").

Well that explains it. Ive set it to onboard because ive got a vga port on my monitor and the hdmi is already being used. Oh well ill stick with claymores. Thanks for the info.

Can someone point me in the direction of the correct place to download Genoils Ethminer for Win10. Downloded something from github and created a bat file but ut flashes up and then disappears. Used the info from the homepage of ethermine.org to create the bat file.
