Where did you get those 2 to 1 usb boards philip?
1522  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 29, 2017, 09:25:36 PM
VCore of zero could be the ASIC is shorted and killing power, or the buck chip has a problem. If it starts up with almost no initial current it's more likely the buck chip, but if it pulls a spike of high current when first plugged in and then drops to near zero points to the ASIC.

As Sidehack says, either ASIC shorted or buck not starting up. Somewhat surprised that would cause the cp2102 to not come up, though. If you can, with it disconnected, check if the pot is okay and if the fet is showing a dead-short.

PM sent, but if you don't manage to fix it, very interested in paying you what it cost you Smiley

Cheers,

Allan.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. When i get some time ill get the multimeter out and take a look if i cant then i may well take allan up on his offer.
Hi gt_addict,
short question, what do you think, should I keep your Gekko at Gekkorun, will you join soon the race?
Or should I remove your racer from the DB?

Thanks & Cheers,
andY

Hi Andy,

Remove it for now please. Thanks  Smiley
1523  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who likes pod miners? on: March 28, 2017, 09:01:25 PM
For anyone wondering, this is a half-scale pod kept intentionally simple. The fancy stuff like fan throttling and software voltage and six-pin jacks and screwholes for legs or cases or whatever are all gonna be there on the big one. So don't ask if such-and-such feature is gonna be on this, because it isn't.

Gotcha! I only remember you saying about the pods having 6pin jacks and possibly being able to be daisy-chained, that's all.

Going to be nice to finally see a decent pod miner
1524  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who likes pod miners? on: March 28, 2017, 05:29:48 PM
Looking good. Is there any plans for 6pin power connection? Only because ive got lots of 6pin leads left over from various antminers that inwas hoping to use for the futures pods Smiley

Cheeky little green block popped over over the past few days  Grin nice to see we can still get them on occasion. Very pleased we have been in the black for so long.

Hello,

Can you give me an exemple of what you need? Because I have all the tools and connectors to craft almost any type of cables.

Have a good day sir!

Its not a cable. Please see jabberwocks thread here. The boards are near the top of the fiest page.

That makes sense. Thanks Biodom. Its running my single green compac now so i am hoping once vh updates it (and hopefully provides lamens terms to update the current version ive got  Wink ) then ill be ready to go for when my 2pacs get here  Grin

Here's how to grab the update:
Code:
cd ~/git/vthoang/cgminer/
git pull
make -j 2

./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr -p x --suggest-diff 32

Adjust that last line as needed.

Superb!! Thanks vh. I'll do the update after work.

Edit: just did the update as i had five minutes. Works a treat    Grin

So ive done the following and it will run the Green compac I have but does not recognise the bitshopper compacs. Just comes up with "usb init failed"  Sad

did you do the following...

Code:
cd ~/git/vthoang/cgminer/
sudo usermod -G plugdev -a `whoami` #whoami=pi if you did not change it
sudo cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/
sudo reboot

it is right there in my prior post.
I don't see you quoting this.
When I did not do this, I also got "usb init failed".
EDIT: this is only so if you are actually talking about 2pacs. Original black Compac (not 2pac) is a whole another situation that vh is fixing, apparently.

I havent done that part yet as the fiest time i did it didnt seem to do anything just moved down a line woth the same root(?) ~/git/vthoang/cgminer/ without loading anything, so third time round i didnt do it.

But yes i am talking about the single chip bitshopper compacs.

Speaking of keeping the lights on.... sidehack have you got a paypal donations address? I sold my non working green compac to Dibblah to try and fix/tinker with and im happy to donate the amount to whatever fund is in most need. Its not much but its something. Please PM me if you have a paypal address for donations.
1534  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 23, 2017, 09:19:40 PM
It's possible VH's driver doesn't recognize the bitshopper product string. Reckon we'll need to get that fixed here directly since I'm working on bitshopper 2Pacs right now.

Phew! Theres me thinking ive gone a f**ked it up for the third time  Roll Eyes I even tried the "--enable-icarus" alongside "--enable-gekko" but it didn't like that.
1535  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 23, 2017, 08:58:42 PM
OK so ive cloned the old sd card and managed to get cgminer 4.10.0 running. My current stats line has the format:-

 "1:GSC 10000081  231mhs  12.89G / 12.72 Gh/s WU:   A:   HW:  "
 "2:BSC 10000566  231mhs  13.24G / 12.71 Gh/s WU:   A:   HW:  "  etc etc

So do I now run the flowing in the order its been written by Biodom?

it looks like you did not run the correct code for pi.
Look closer: you need to run the one that says Debian (a longer list of dependencies) and mentions pi few lines down:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade -y

sudo apt-get install -y build-essential git libusb-1.0-0-dev libusb-1.0-0 libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev screen libtool automake pkg-config libjansson-dev

mkdir -p git/vthoang; cd git/vthoang
git clone https://github.com/vthoang/cgminer.git
cd cgminer

CFLAGS="-O2" ./autogen.sh --enable-gekko
make -j 2

yes you can make an image of the SD card, with for example Win32DiskImager.

read to save the image, write to put it on the SD (self explanatory actually)

Nice one thanks irritant.
1538  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 22, 2017, 02:53:27 PM
Thanks for the replies guys. Vh no i dont have that layout of stats so i assume im running what i already had working.

Ill give what Biodom has said a go when i get home and can download the latest version of cgminer. At least then i can start fresh.

On a side note, can i put the SD card into my laptop and copy all the files over to a new card and create a backup that would work if i were to muck up the new install? Or do you have to start from a fresh install of raspbian?
1539  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 22, 2017, 12:16:40 PM
Please excuse my lack of knowledge. Im not the best with programming and things like the raspi. I currently have a running pi with three gekkos using raspbian(pixel) and running cgminer-gekko (4.9.2).

I ran the first part of this thread:-

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade -y

sudo apt-get install -y build-essential git autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl4-openssl-dev libudev-dev

mkdir -p git/vthoang; cd git/vthoang
git clone https://github.com/vthoang/cgminer.git
cd cgminer

CFLAGS="-O2 -march=native" ./autogen.sh --enable-gekko
make -j 2

then tried to run a test using the example with sidehacks 1burger address but it said cgminer wasnt found. Would the bit i ran update the cgminer-gekko version ive got or not?

p.s. I rebooted and it runs the gekkos fine but unsure if it updated ready for when i get my 2pacs.

This is meant to be a for sale thread yet people are getting hot headed way too fast.

It is odd that you have an 8-9month gap in your posting history before listing these miners.
