2361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: January 21, 2021, 05:22:10 AM
Crypto is ruled soon by sec and goverment its not goodw

Make your cash and get out of crypto
Pepple dont like regulated things fuck rules and regulations crypto is freedom if the goverment start fuck woth our bitcoins and crypto then its not good

We stay for using cash

I don't expect Biden administration to be friendly towards cryptocurrency. Already Janet Yellen has made some controversial comments on the subject of crypto. SEC will be under a lot of pressure to crack down on cryptocurrency. All they need is the slightest excuse. And the most worrying thing is that whatever happening in the US will be having a domino effect on the markets.
2362  Other / Politics & Society / Re: FREE SPEECH - Bitcointalk vs Twitter et al? Better? The same? Worse? on: January 21, 2021, 05:12:40 AM
Although I am a supporter of the free speech, the last thing I want is people supporting radical political views to land here and post about mad conspiracy theories and threats. This forum has survived for 11 years, and it will be a great tragedy if the authorities would shut us down for some crazy posts by a few lunatics. So let's stick to cryptocurrency discussions and leave the fight for free speech to someone else.
2363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election | Biden+Harris Vs ?? ?? on: January 21, 2021, 04:51:19 AM
Its look like now we have to wait for some time who is strong enough for next USA Presidnetial candidate because as looking Biden Bernie very old Trump already done bad enough for this all so hopefully Republican's will bring some good and stronge candidate for Kamala because this could be not easy for them as they already faced in shape of Trump.

If GOP wants to win the presidential race in 2024, then they need to win at least some of the crucial swing states such as Wisconson, Maine and Arizona. If they select someone like Ted Cruz, Mike Pence or Nikki Haley, then it will be difficult to attract the moderate vote. I won't be surprised if they go for a completely unorthodox choice, such as Madison Cawthorn or John James.

2364  Economy / Economics / Re: The recent rise in prices, temporary or more long term? on: January 21, 2021, 04:38:03 AM
That is the worst case scenario, but remember that this institutions are in for the long haul. Maybe their target price is like $100k to really make some liquidations, and of course to make profit. But there could really be buyers as well, if they decided to sell then someone in the wing are waiting. Also bitcoin supply is dwindling, it's running out so getting it is going to be hard and these institutions knows that's why I doubt that they are going to sell in the next couple of years.

Institutions usually don't offload their assets that quickly. Although I would say that some of the institutional investors may not be looking to hold the coins for the long term, the vast majority would be willing to hold them for at least a few years. They do their investments in a systematic way. At the time of investment, they will be having a target. If that target is achieved within 6 months, then we can expect them to dump their coins within that period. On the other hand, if it takes more than 5 years, then they will hold the coins for that much time. But the most worrying aspect here is that they will be having a stop loss target as well. If the BTC exchange rates go below a certain limit, then we can expect a massive selloff.
2365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attention: Biden has officially won, make sure your sportsbook pay you. on: January 21, 2021, 04:18:50 AM
I know about the lines when the results were announced. I tried to explain somehow why they couldn't pay the money. It's very strange. They must realize that it would have a very big impact on their reputation. And it will cause them reputational damage

Perhaps they don't care much about their reputation. For online gambling sites, it is not very difficult to make an exit scam and then open a new website with completely different design and URL after a few months. Many of them are based in various island nations and that makes it very difficult for users from the US or the European Union to pursue legal measures.
2366  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-01-13 BI - Man offers city $70M to dig up lost 7500 btc hard drive on: January 20, 2021, 01:30:39 PM
The real damage to the area cannot be evaluated, but most likely "$240 a person" is far less than what would be needed for compensation. Besides, what are the chances of finding the hard drive in such a place

It has been 8 years. If the hard drive wasn't shredded to pieces, it would have rusted away and the metal components would have disintegrated. It would be impossible to recover any information contained in the hard drive under such circumstances. IMO, James Howells should stick to his usual modus operandi, i.e charging £250 per interview from the journalists and bloggers to whine about the lost treasure.
2367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction price Bitcoin on: January 20, 2021, 01:19:09 PM
When this topic was created in 2018, Bitcoin was being dumped at $ 8000. So it's only natural to have low transaction costs, and the transaction
speed was also very fast at that time. But things are very different now, the price of Bitcoin has managed to rise above $ 40k. Although it is
currently undergoing a correction to the price of $ 34k. With the already high Bitcoin price, transaction fees are much more expensive, and
transaction speeds are also getting longer, taking several hours for the transaction to be successful. This happens because Bitcoin users have
increased dramatically, hopefully in the future a solution can be found. So that Bitcoin transaction fees are cheap and fast again.

Transaction speed also depends on the blocks being mined. If a new block is mined within 30 seconds of your transaction, then your transaction may get confirmed within that much time. But a few days back, I had to wait for more than 1 hour (despite putting a very high transaction fee), because no block were being mined during this period. And those who put lower transaction fee had to wait for a long time, because a lot of transactions were in queue by the time the next block was mined.
2368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election | Biden+Harris Vs ?? ?? on: January 20, 2021, 01:09:15 PM
LoL, Biden's ability to stay alive in the next four years is already questionable, let alone become the 2024 President. I think:
- Biden: RIP;
- Bernie: RIP;
- Trump: alive but in decline.

None of them will become a candidate.

Completely agreed. And for Trump, if he had any scant chances for 2024, all of that evaporated with the capitol riots. It was the last straw and now I don't even consider Trump or any of his children (including Ivanka) as potential candidates for the 2024 elections. Biden/Bernie will be 80 plus, and even if they are alive they won't be in a condition to contest the elections.
2369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 20, 2021, 12:59:13 PM
It is impossible, there are many other people who are trying presidency for ICC, already BCCI supported Sourav Ganguly as president for BCCI. Now he is Cardiac arrest, he needs to take some rest, he needs to give the opportunity to fellow friends like Sachin and Rahul Dravid in order to focus on the future of Indian Cricket.

If Sachin or Dravid is interested, then it will be good. But among these three, only Sourav Ganguly has shown any interest in cricket administration. Dravid seems to be happy with his coaching responsibilities and he may not jump in to administration anytime soon. And yes.. Ganguly recently underwent hospitalization. But he was discharged after a few days and now he is doing fine.
2370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH high gas fee on: January 20, 2021, 04:25:00 AM
The gas fee was totally so high and it was crazy dude, that's why for the meantime, I'm not doing any transaction under ERC20.
I'm just waiting a little bit to lessen its charge in it. Unless, if you withdraw a large amount of Ethereum I think that would be fine
anyhow, isn't that right?

I am also stuck with $50 worth of tokens for sometime. I want to convert it to ETH, before these tokens become worthless. But that process involves sending the ERC-20 tokens to an exchange, and then withdrawing the ETH back to my wallet. Two transactions need to be done, and in the end I will be left with only $35-$40 instead of $50. So for now, I have decided to keep the tokens as such.
2371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long will this scam go on? on: January 20, 2021, 03:44:45 AM
In just 11 years of cryptocurrencies existence we've seen a series of shitcoins coming up, making a choice on which coin to hold aside $BTC & $ETH $BET $DOT $ADA & LINK is becoming difficult, how best can I get to know more viable  projects like the ones I already have? When will the proliferation of shitcoins in crypto space stop? Who will check mate the proliferation of shitcoins?

It doesn't take much time and effort to create a shitcoin. You can spend $20 or $30 to build a website with fake credentials and for a similar amount you can plagiarize a white paper from one of the better known projects with help from freelancers. And then you can go for the creation of a bounty campaign thread here. In total, it may take less than $100 in funds and a few days of your time to plan and implement everything.
2372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 07:15:20 PM
Before the match started, a lot of the analysts were pointing out about the huge gap in experience between the Indian pace bowlers and their Australian counterparts. Indian bowlers including Saini, Siraj, Sundar, Shardul and Natarajan were either making their test debut or just playing their 2nd or 3rd test. On the other hand, the Australian bowlers were vastly experienced, and all of them had more than 50 test matches each to their name.
2373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 10:00:23 AM
Was just curious about this- There was lot of questions asked about Pujara's slow batting style. What do you think about it? I've seen people praising such styles a bit when it is a tight situation and that playing style comes in handy if we are trying to get out of losing situation, but do you think the reaction could go opposite if it goes other way if a target seems pretty much achievable but somehow it goes towards draw? What do you guys feel as a cricket fan.

Pujara is essentially a test batsman and that is one of the reasons why he never plays in IPL. One thing that almost everyone ignored is the fact that Pujara had hardly played any cricket before landing in Australia. Ranji season for 2020 was called off, and his last competitive game before the series was the 4-day match between Saurashtra and Bengal, which was played on 9th March 2020.
2374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 08:15:19 AM
World Test Championship points table looks really tight. Right now, four teams are in contention for the final at Lord's - India, Australia, England and New Zealand. For India, the next series is at home and that gives them an advantage. I guess all the other teams are having away series. BTW, I would love a final between India and New Zealand. That looks probable as well, looking at the points table.
2375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 07:41:37 AM
And finally.. India wins the match and the series. Such a historic win. A lot of people had written them off even before the series started. Michael Vaughan predicted 0-4 sweep in favor of Australia. I am sure that he will be having egg on his face right now. Now this series will present a lot of challenges to the Indian selectors. Are they going to stick with Rahane as the captain? What about Saini/Siraj/Natarajan. Who are going to be dropped for the next series when the regular players are available?
2376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 07:31:55 AM
Just 10 more runs needed and Washington Sundar gets out. Australians may think that they still have a chance in this match. History is in the making at Brisbane. India still has 4 wickets and 4 overs remaining to reach the target. What they need to do is to make sure that no rash shot is being played. And most importantly, Rishabh Pant needs to keep the lion's share of the strike.
2377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum going up? on: January 19, 2021, 07:03:06 AM
It will must break it's ATH,if you have it already then you should must hold..

Just remember what happened to BTC when it hit the ATH level in December. It took quite a lot of time to breach the resistance level at $20,000. The prices touched $19,500, but was unable to move past $20K for almost a month. But eventually that occurred and after that, it was a smooth ride to $42,000. I am expecting the same to happen with ETH, if the ATH level of 2018 could be breached.
2378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OMG !!!!! You BitCoin people were right. I wish I had bought back in March :( on: January 19, 2021, 06:53:16 AM
buying at pump or buying at dump can be right and wrong , i say right and wrong because every possibility can happen . the price can dump or pump and we dont have the ability to know it but what matters the most is if we can hold our asset strongly because hodling can save us if ever the oppositte thing that we didnt expected happens . what i only dont like to what he say is storing coins on the exchange , even if that is a safe exchange but if your an avod hodler much better to store coins on the wallet that you own your keys

All sort of possibilities are there. I would just say one thing. If you have the necessary funds and you have the capability to stay invested for the long-term, then just purchase the coins irrespective of the market condition. Unlike the case with stocks and bonds, with cryptocurrency we can't accurately predict the market movements. So the best thing to do would be to accumulate coins when you have enough funds and then wait for a few years to get a good ROI.
2379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 19, 2021, 06:43:07 AM
Another 69 runs needed, with a minimum of 15 overs remaining. I can see the Australian bowlers getting more defensive. The target is perfectly achievable for India, but they should be careful not to lose any wickets. Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins are bowling very economically, so the Indian batsmen may be looking to target the other two bowlers (Hazlewood and Starc). I have a feeling that Rishabh Pant may be able to give India a win here.
2380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pornhub and PayPal - What are supporting the higer Bitcoin price the most? on: January 19, 2021, 06:33:14 AM
It is laughable to compare the two. PayPal adoption resulted in a massive bull run in the market, and the daily trading volumes went up by quite a lot as a result. PayPal is a mainstream business firm, unlike the case with Pornhub. I am not underestimating the impact from Pornhub, but the adoption by PayPal was like the breakthrough that Bitcoin was searching for so long.
