2481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might continue Bear market for another 1-2 months????? on: March 09, 2018, 06:41:21 AM
I was expecting a run up in March atleast but it doesn't looks like it's going 13k-15k levels. Also, April is start of new financial year, so I am expecting a drop in April too, many countries will/have announced their budget and new regulations near April.

This is classic panic selling and I don't think that we're going to go under $7k in this dump.

It could last for 1-2 months before a recovery. I think that most likely though, it will recover before the end of the month to above $10k once again. This was not a sign of a bubble bursting or whatever, it's because of panic sellers looking at the news and taking it for face value without thinking about whether there is any implications for bitcoin in the long term resulting from this.

So this 'doom and gloom' bear  arket where everyone is screaming bitcoin's bursted will last for at least a week more I think, before finding a floor at around $8k. And then there could be a bull market again taking us up to $11-12k, but not much beyond that.
2482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach $ 29,000 on: March 09, 2018, 06:29:15 AM
The forecast for the end of the year that Bitcoin will reach $ 29,000, and Ethereum's capitalization will triple. The Finder site conducted a study based on the growth of 12 digital currencies and the comparison of 9 participants in the industry's blockbuster. According to their forecast, the growth of ETH will be 212%, BTC - 194%, and the third place Bitcoin Cash with 123%.
Kevin Lou, co-founder and strategy director for the Hong Kong company CryptAM, said that Ethereum has very good growth prospects, but at the moment the network needs to solve the problem of scaling. CryptoKitties, a game with digital kittens that allows you to acquire and breed crypto pets - something that hinders the development of the ETH network. In the near future this issue will be resolved.
Well look. Forecasts will remain forecasts until proven.

Doesn't mean much because anyone can come out with different predictions on where the price will go by the end of the year, without any proof or analysis. Even if there is analysis, there is no way of guaranteeing that the trend will actually continue or reverse by the end of the year and reach a certain figure.

With this prediction i think that it's very bold.

I don't think that it's likely to come true however. $29k would mean an all time high and I don't see it happening this year. We'll be stuck in around $5k-$15k this year mostly, with little movement upwards or downwards from those two points.
2483  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Prices In India Is Higher on: March 09, 2018, 06:21:10 AM
Experts claim that demand outweighs supply in India, pushing the Bitcoin price in the country up to 20% higher than international prices.

Some Indian e-commerce platforms have started recognising the digital currency as well. FlipKart and Amazon are already giving customers the option to convert Bitcoin into regular currency and purchase goods with it.

So there is huge demand and this can cause some problems in future so caution is needed when investing as any moment govt or RBI may ban it.

There are capital controls in india. So its domestic market has more demand for bitcoin and other cryptos compared to international markets, especially those located in countries where their currency is more unregulated in terms of going across borders and transferring.

Historically India has always been ahead in terms of price, compared to the world.

No big surprises, and also it's not indicative of the future prices because it's a demand problem. It's not like India is leading the way on international markets with prices moving before the rest, it doesn't, because otherwise it would tank in the opposite direction too and it's not doing that.

So from an arbitrage point of view, there is potential to exploit this. But I'm assuming loopholes are close to none because the markets are showing this through the inflated prices.
2484  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin withdraw Suspended in Binance exchange on: March 08, 2018, 07:54:39 AM
If you have Binance Account with coins in it. Check it right now as there is a reported hack ongoing Check your accounts to be sure your coins have not been sold nor withdrawn.

BINANCE AANOUNCEMNT
We are investigating reports of some users having issues with their funds. Our team is aware and investigating the issue as we speak.
As of this moment, the only confirmed victims have registered API keys (to use with trading bots or otherwise). There is no evidence of the Binance platform being compromised.
Please remain patient and we will provide an update as quickly as possible.
Withdrawals are temporarily disabled at this time.

What are the steps to protect your Bitcoin from hack in an exchange platform?
What have you done to your account to protect it?

Your positive answers will be appreciated.

Well that's pretty much the only way to stop hackers from withdrawing funds, because apparently there were a ton of people who got their accounts stolen and trades executed randomly. They have already been reversing the irregular trades today.

When you deposit into an exchange, this should be expected.

This is because you DO NOT have any control over your bitcoins in an exchange. You can't secure it 100% because the exchange can mess up. You can't be guaranteed access to your coins 24/7 either, because ultimately it's up to the exchange.

The most you can do on an exchange is enable 2fa and have a strong password, as well as making sure that your account doesn't get hacked. But still, that doesn't mean much because it's not your money once you deposit it into an exchange. It's the exchange's and they owe you money. It's always best to store BTC in a wallet instead of an exchange.
2485  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange with lowest BTC withdrawal Fee? on: March 08, 2018, 07:38:17 AM
Thanks for opening and maintaining this list, because for small time traders this information is especially important for them. A 0.0005 BTC difference in fees can easily result in a loss in an otherwise winning trade if your trades are small.

Perhaps do this in a table form instead of an image though, since it is easier to update and maintain?

Also, 1. binance has lowered their fees to 0.0005 BTC due to the lower bitcoin transaction fee right now: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/81ck40/binance_btc_withdrawal_fees_reduced_50_to_00005/. Please update that in the OP.

2. Bittrex has a withdrawal fee for BTC of 0.001 BTC. Please add that in as well, cheers!
2486  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Any exchange/website to withdraw fiat? on: March 08, 2018, 07:18:12 AM
I didn't want to try kraken because I heard some bad things about them from a friend but it seems everyone is vouching for them here so I will give them a try as well. Yeah I have been checking bestchange in detail and you are right, in terms of fees is a ripoff basically.

I don't use Kraken myself but everyone else does seem to be giving mostly positive reviews about them.

Also just saw your post regarding why you thought that localbitcoins was bad.

If your only concern with localbitcoins is that you'll get charged back or get paid from a stolen account, then it's really nothing to worry about. These cases are outliers and usually does not happen, given that you deal with the right payment methods. For example, bank transfer is usually more risky than cash deposit which is pretty much impossible to reverse. Also dealing with buyers who has 5-10k feedbacks will usually be extremely safe. 100 feedback accounts are quite common, but nobody really sells 5+k feedback accounts.

You'll pretty much get better rates on LBC than on the best deal on bestchange even if you're the "taker" of the deal, if you're making the advertisement then you can even set additional verification rules such as holding up an ID in a selfie etc. And, you get the better end of the spread.
2487  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdrawal of USD Via Visa on Cex.io - Any Experience? on: March 08, 2018, 07:11:52 AM
Hi guys I'm thinking of making a withdrawal of USD from Cex.io via Visa card. Has anybody here had any tried that? Was it successfully and how long did it take?

It's supposed to take up to 3 days only.

However I've seen a ton of people who had problems withdrawing to a bank account or a card that they own. In the case of a debit card I haven't really seen any cases where Visa cards are involved. The new rules that cex.io put out mainly concern Mastercard holders and you don't need to worry about anything: https://blog.cex.io/news/mastercard-processing-17180.

As long as you are fully verified and your card is also verified with CEX.io, there should not be an issue. If you need the funds urgently it's probably better to get BTC withdrawn and sell on localbitcoins for a transfer/cash deposit. If you can wait for 3 days then go with cex.io.
2488  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC to Fiat to PayPal? on: March 08, 2018, 06:56:10 AM
What's everyone's favorite way to send fiat to PayPal?  I have BitPay and it seems that's not an option.  Gemini seems to be the one a lot of people like?

I don't think that Gemini actually does anything with paypal. There is only options for wire withdrawals.

You can either use coinbase, for small amounts, or get funds transferred to your bank before depositing to paypal. Otherwise you'll have to trade bitcoins for paypal with another person, which means that you're taking on a huge risk in terms of chargebacks.

Do you only have a paypal account, though? What's stopping you from just withdrawing to your bank account and then linking your bank account with your paypal? That's pretty much the only way you'll get good rates with high withdrawal limits and get your funds to paypal in the end.
2489  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How on earth did I incur such high transaction fees? on: March 08, 2018, 06:48:18 AM
Thanks for taking the time to provide a screenshot of the web page.

It's estimation is a bit more expensive then needed though, I find https://coinb.in/#fees much better.

If I use the lower fees recommended in https://coinb.in/#fees, will confirmations take longer to process?

Make sure to send all transactions as RBF in case the fee is too low.

What is RBF please? And how do I go about doing it using Electrum 3.0.1? (I am quite new to Bitcoin jargon.)

A related sub-topic and on which I hope you can provide me some feedback:

A few minutes ago, I launched Electrum 3.1.0, input some data and on clicking the "Preview" button, below is what I got:

Fee is 2 sat/byte for a total of 258 bytes. There is only one input and 2 outputs for an imaginary transaction. (There are 3 options for "Fee estimation": "Static", "ETA" and "Mempool". I chose "Mempool".)

What's your opinion on the transaction fee of 2 sat/byte and what is the estimated time of having just one confirmation?

I have sent transactions yesterday and today which both used around 2-4 sats per byte fees. Nothing wrong with it and I got confirmations as soon as the first block was mined. So even though the newest electrum update says that it will confirm in 25 blocks, that is realistically a very pessimistic prediction. You pretty much can drag the fee estimate slider to the very left at the moment.

There are always risks with paying with low fees, even with right now, it could take a few more blocks to get a confirmation than if you went with 20 sats/byte.

To enable RBF - Go to electrum preferences and select always proposing RBF. It lets you replace your transaction with a higher fee, in case your initial transaction was sent with too low of a fee. Something to fall back on basically.
2490  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Getcryptotab.com a scam on: March 08, 2018, 06:42:59 AM
Newbie here. I found this chrome extension circulating on Social Media Getcryptotab and many are using this to mine bitcoin. I already installed this extension and so far I already generate 0.000000165700 BTC in one night alone.

I wonder if any one here already withdraw from this website. Any reviews and feedback?

Take a look at their own recent payouts page: https://getcryptotab.com/en/journal/

All the payments are in the thousands of satoshi. If they are a legitimate service that is actually mining bitcoins with your computing power then it'll just mean that your computer is getting severely lagged and overheated for virtually no rewards.

Also, your electricity costs will pretty much not going to be covered.

You made a good decision to stop using it. There are no benefits whatsoever, especially as it could even be a hidden virus or not even pay you when you have just made enough for minimum withdrawal.
2491  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bit-miner.com MIA on: March 08, 2018, 06:33:27 AM
Yeah, there is a scam site called bitminer.io I think, this site is unrelated.

Your chances of getting back your funds are slim. However if you did do your research then you should have expected that in the first place. I do think that it's probably doing an exit scam right now, though I could be wrong.

So the problem actually seems to be from getting your confirmation email from them. Either way it's not a good sign because it shows that they're not maintaining their site actively, or they are doing this intentionally instead of completely closing down the site to attract new investors.

Hope you get your BTC back, though. That's the best thing that could happen obviously.
2492  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 good time to invest on Bitcoin and Crypto curreny ? on: March 07, 2018, 08:22:48 AM
I'm looking on coinmarketcap graph and its not look positive like few months ago when all the crpyo were on continius growth
what needs to be change to make Bitcoin and crypto currencies to go to the roof again ?
is it likely or unlikely to happen?
how much you predict Bitcoin and Ethereum till the end of 2018 ?

It should be sort of a stable year for bitcoin.

I believe that we're mostly going to stay above $10k, sometimes going under $10k. But there shouldn't be too many times where the prices go under or over the range of $7k-20k in my opinion. BTC is still recovering from the dump.

If you're accumulating long term, any time is a good time. And with prices around only 50% of what it was last December, it's a good idea to buy some right now in my opinion.

Bitcoin dominance should go up as well this year, meaning that BTC should outperform alts imo.
2493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earlier, Gates, was positive about Bitcoin, what changed? on: March 07, 2018, 07:49:11 AM
His main argument seems to be that people can buy drugs with bitcoin.

However, when he made comments about bitcoin before which were positive, bitcoin's uses were actually a lot more limited to the illicit drug markets on the deep web. Right now, there are all kinds of legitimate uses of bitcoin and clearly there are more legitimate uses than illegitimate uses. And the potential bitcoin has shown clearly have grown outside of dark webs and stereotypes like that.

Nothing has changed, indeed. But his opinion has.

I'm assuming that he may think that bitcoin is overpriced at the moment. Obviously commenting about bitcoin's positives at $300 would make more sense, but no so much when it's $10k(at least for him). Dunno what he's trying to achieve here, though?
2494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most updated Google trend of Bitcoin on: March 07, 2018, 07:18:33 AM
This is the most updated trend of Bitcoin from Google trend.

Google trend of Bitcoin

It keep decreasing dramatically from last year Xmas.
What do you think? What is happening?

If you like this post, you are welcome to Merit me, Thank you so much!

Usually there is a direct correlation between the price of each bitcoin and the google trends data. So it's not really surprising that at the height of the bubble where everyone went FOMO buying had the most amount of attention from searches, and right now that trend is cooling off.

To me, that doesn't mean much.

People are naturally attracted to things that they see as profit making, and when BTC isn't climbing up anymore it is easy to see why people gravitate to other things.

Doesn't mean much, just a short term trend. If anything it means that BTC is probably a better buy than it was just a few months ago. Once the next pump comes, watch the trend reverse.

I have been waiting for 5 days, please cancel them and add to my balance again.

Thanks in advance for any help

They should be able to cancel it. They are still having problems with their withdrawals to bank accounts. Their official explanation is that their banking partners have some problems, not entirely sure what's up though. Been at least a few months as well since the problem first arised.

You can definitely ask them to refund to your account, and after they do that you can trade it for BTC and then withdraw that BTC, or try the withdrawal a second time(may not actually be successful, though). Up to you.

You need to get their attention on the matter. If they haven't responded to your support ticket except with automated messages, that's no good. Try PM'ing them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=148073. They have been active on the forum before to resolve issues and hopefully they can help you too.
2496  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Any exchange/website to withdraw fiat? on: March 07, 2018, 06:27:18 AM
Which is the best exchange or any other site which allow withdraw to PayPal without some huge fees or too complicated verification process?I would like to convert some BTC from time to time in order to buy some things with PP online. It would be great if I can use BTC for that, but for now this is still not possible on most online stores.

Some people told me too look into bestchange.com you can find bitcoin to paypal USD and EUR there. There are a few that offer paypal and don't seem to require verification processes but I'm not sure how big the fees are. I will try one myself soon.

Exchanges on bestchange usually will be extremely poor in terms of the fees they charge. Even the best of the sites, especially anything involving fiat conversions will absolutely rip you off on the fees on the exchanges.

You'll have to pay the paypal fee yourself, which is like 2.9% + 0.3USD if I'm not mistaken. Then you have to use their exchange rate which at best will probably be 3-4% under spot. And even after that, they could always chargeback or turn out that they've used an illegitimate source to obtain these funds. You never know whats' going in these Russian exchangers.

Honestly if you're not that worried about ID then go with Kraken, best rates you're gonna get since you're not dealing with any intermediators.
2497  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CEX.IO SCAM? or Any help?? on: March 07, 2018, 06:11:14 AM
When I heard from a friend that cex.io is very simple for beginners to learn how to buy/sell coins.  I wanted to deposit 540euro from my Portuguese bank account to my CEX.IO balance. On November 29th 2017 I made the transfer to an account given by CEX website for transfer deposits. This account was in a bank called Sepaga based in Cyprus. After I made the transfer I waited 2 business days but my CEX balance was still 0. I called the Sepaga bank and they told me that there was a lack of information but they fixed it so it should be in my account by the next day. That night, I had to make an hard reset on my phone and 2FA Authentication never worked after a hard reset so I couldn't log in to my CEX account. I informed that CEX Support team had to do it manually and it took one month for them to remove 2FA Authentication from my account.
After a month, when I was able to login. I was shocked because, there was still 0 balance in my account. So money has never been deposited???
I made tickets for support team, left so many messages thru support service but always get automated messages like  "your patience is highly appreciated". Tried to reach them from Facebook, Twitter, even called the building where their office is located in London but no answer. It has been more than 3 months and still no helpful mail received from CEX. I am stucked and no idea what to do. I even thought about taking a flight and solve the problem in their office but there is no one in the office as building secretary said. Anybody had similar issue? what can I do? Huh Huh Huh

Their main issues that everyone's been getting is anything involving fiat banking. And your case is the same here. If there are no records then it probably means that they haven't credited your account to date.

You should include in your tickets some screenshots of your deposit. Make sure that you did deposit to the correct account, because the "lack of information" part of your case could be the problem here. You don't know what the bank modified to your transaction.

Send a PM to CEX.io on forum and refer them to this thread, if you want you can send some proof of your deposit as well as some correspondence info you had with the support.
2498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Watch | BTC/USD Fails To Hold $11,000 on: March 06, 2018, 07:03:21 AM
Bitcoin price briefly surpassed the critical $11,000 level today before dropping back down. Currently, the coin is trading around $10,900 as of 3 PM EST. On the bright side, it almost reached a high of $11,200 earlier today, and it’s been stabilized at around $11,000 throughout most of the week. Importantly, BTC has been trading above $10,000 since Tuesday.

Read more at : https://www.currencytimes.co.in/bitcoin-price-watch-btc-usd-fails-to-hold-11000/

Your article is quite outdated. It's 3 day old news now.

Anyhow, we are seeing a small dump today, probably profit takers that think we're not going to break $12k just yet. However I do think that past this current dip we'll be looking to push past $12k which would signal a full on bull market, since the highest point we reached from the last attempt to break it was around $11900 if I am not mistaken & remember correctly.

But for now, $11k is holding up nicely and I can only see it continue to hold up into the next 2 weeks. BTC dominance is growing as well, expect that to return to 50% if BTC moves past $12k.
2499  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcoin scam site on: March 06, 2018, 06:54:35 AM
It was a debit card.  BBT36030287 is my order ID.  They don't have any telephone contact info that I can see.  I just wish the would reply to any of the last 4 messages I've sent.

Debit card is a bit more tricky since it is indeed your money that you have spent. Doesn't hurt to try contacting your bank since there is always a possibility that you can reverse on any bank transactions, even bank transfers.

Of course, the best case scenario would be them replying to your messages.

Prepare for the worst though. The reviews on http://bittrust.org/coinmama isn't very good for the recent reviewers and they all seem to be 1 star or 2 star. Their support really took a turn to the worse it seems after the 2017 crypto rush.

You'll just have to wait for their response if you can't charge back the transaction, they're located in Slovakia I think, no idea how you would go through the legal process with an international company like that.

I'm assuming taht it's still the scammer posting the request. He's even asking the previous lender to lend to him again. So far nobody has but just putting a warning to all that the account is most likely still in the hands of the hacker.

Don't lend to him for the time being.
