2541  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best books for crypto trading on: December 09, 2017, 08:30:32 PM
I recommend the books on poloniex, gdax, bittrex, tuxexchange.com, the exchange of your choice.. The buy/sell books that is..

You can read all the books you want about riding a bike but you are still going to crash learning just as much..
The info you can read will only help you learn how to do tricks or advanced practices, that are useless unless you already have the basic fundamentals down..

Take a little coin and go make a few hundred trades, learn to do, then you will understand what the heck they are even talking about in the books you want to read..

The best imo is to get on an exchange with a good trollbox and ask a thousand questions while you make your first thousand little trades..

Take like $20, lose 75% in your first couple hundred trades..
After that if you can't start gaining your money back, make your $20 back, and then double that, GIVE UP because you don't have what it takes..

I wouldn't put any more money into it until you do that and prove that you can be profitable..

Also..
Forget all about reading anything about this coin or that coin.. What their promises are or if it's pow or pos..
You don't need to care about any of that, it matters not..

Get to where you can read the books on exchanges, feel the momentum, and you won't have to read anything else..

The only info about the coin that is of any value is the current hype/fud sentiment..

Come flip the spread on this https://tuxexchange.com/trade?coin=PEPECASH&market=BTC and chat..

It's almost always a great spread to flip with a smaller amount of coin and ask anything you want about trading in the trollbox..

That's how I learned.. Cryptsy..

I made a thousand trades on crypts before I knew bitcointalk existed..
I made thousands of trades before and while learning the very basics of how blockchain crypto even works..

My first use of a blockchain period was arbing NET to bittrex..
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PSA: If gold were illegal... (Gold WAS illegal!) on: December 09, 2017, 09:16:44 AM
I was just reading your posts, phenomenal..
It is hard finding good reads like that around here..
Been into crypto since digicash and privacy long before..

On this topic I do not doubt it could happen at all, and I read that some senate bill just made it illegal to hide the fact that you own bitcoin in the USA..
Scary stuff.. I just got done reading your post on bitcoin privacy and this all really is a lot to think about..

For myself I have never hid my involvement with bitcoin, my friends and family know about Bitcoin because of me, and I can be doxed 100 ways from Sunday..

I think it is to late for me to go private, my case is a lost cause..

But I would be fascinated to read more intelligent conversation about the risks we are subjected to such as the subject of this thread and what a person can do to start implementing privacy in their lives, and how to really learn the practice, to mitigate it to a reasonable extent..

What you said about google being the best mind reading technology yet invented, it is so true, and just feels like the problem is so far above my head I may as well submit..

I use TOR for experimenting on it and maybe reading some interesting things, but I wouldn't really have the first idea if I was actually anonymous because of all the gotchas I read can get you.. I don't trust running it to keep me safe from anything because I just don't know..

I just trade crypto, I'm good on an exchange, love the numbers and thrill.. I'm not much of a computers and code, understanding how everything really works kind of guy..
I look into it and know much more than your average joe, but it gets over my head fast..
I feel I've used my abilities of that sort up on actual machines.. I can wrap my head around very complex systems of the physical nature, but when it comes to software, it's a lot harder for me.. I haven't been doing this complex computer stuff all my life like I have other things..
2543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will UnitedBitcoin Replace Bitcoin? on: December 09, 2017, 05:08:11 AM
No..
Because I think if one of these forks or altcoins really gets it right and proves secure and the most useful that the real bitcoin will move in that direction..
Eventually the real bitcoin will have the best set of tech on its blockchain..

All these things are cool sideprojects and I think could bring a groundbreaking advancement but THE Bitcoin will always be THE Bitcoin..

Even if THE Bitcoin goes to shit it will still always be THE Bitcoin and their will never be another..

Maybe I'll have to figure out how to claim these some day too..
2544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Attention all Bitcoin owners! You are entitled to free Bitcore (BTX)! on: December 09, 2017, 04:49:49 AM
Hmmm ok..

So I have a wallet seed with BTC on that snapshot. I figure Ill gust create a new seed/wallet to put my BTC back on and keep that old seed with the BTX on it..

Do I have to move the BTX to get the rest of these airdrops to come or will my addresses just keep getting airdrops if I don't touch those keys at all until I want to play with the BTX?
2545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mysterious tx appeared 6:02 am EST on: December 09, 2017, 01:56:54 AM
Answered my own question... its an old tx that never confirmed, and whem mycelium client updated it must have rebroadcast and moved it to thw top of my history list.

Is it possible though, miners could agree to go back and drop all super low fee tx's forcing people to up the fees to get it confirmed?

Once it's had a confirm it cannot be dropped..

If I was a billionaire banker I would try to buy a shit ton of BTC before CME, create FOMO. Then Dumb it all on you for the BIG SHORT & then LONG the HELLLLLL out of it for the profit!

Triple Kill

Right now it's really the Korean buying - the west is dumping. I would have immediately agreed with you if I see the west being a net buyer.

Then why is coindesk $1000 higher than finex?
2548  Economy / Economics / Re: What's your vision of cryptocurrencies ? on: December 08, 2017, 03:03:46 AM
"What's your vision of cryptocurrencies ?" title..

"So i'm searching for a 40year investment" OP

Damn, I was hoping that this thread would be all philosophical about the liberty and freedom that crypto gives to humanity and..

Another thread about profits..

profits profits profits..

Satoshi Nakamoto was the prophet..

2550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found WIF key of 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE on: December 08, 2017, 02:52:31 AM
Wow, I'm surprised so many people use that address..

My TX is back there quite a ways now..

I think the average time to grab funds when an addressed is cracked is 5 seconds, that was back in 2015, I think now its about 1 second for most algo's that crack addresses to transfer funds to a new account.

These days its not really profitable to crack BITCOIN, the low hanging fruit has been long ago found, more likely these days is other ALT currency that has more newbies who don't know about creating strong WIF's

IMHO most high value accounts these days are held by people who KNOW how to create a secure WIF ( private address )

I think they kindof intentionally created a series of less secure addresses steadily gaining in difficulty to accurately gauge how close computers are getting to cracking a 100% secure priv key..
Their is a thread on it here somewhere. like its a game who can crack the highest one with decent BTC on the addresses..

2552  Economy / Goods / Re: [Looking For] USA Collectible Car Dealer/ Car Mechanic on: December 08, 2017, 01:26:26 AM
I'm still around but I don't have the time to gather so much data, do all the calculations, and make spreadsheets and presentations for you on a longshot chance of actually undertaking a project..

I mean I could do it, but your talking a few hundred dollars worth of work just to put this request together for you..
Also, I'm not a physicist..
How much would a more well equipped physicist charge for such a task?

Your looking at like 5 hours a piece to research and decide on each individual component, and their are many..

you would have to get the best quality, performance, and scale for fitment of each individual project for the money, and then you could calculate it for each individual project.. But I have no idea how much of or how big of each component will fit into a project.. You can fit a heck of a lot more in the back of a suburban than an rx7 and it can hold more weight but will have more drag..
Drag coeficient? I don't even know what vehicle I would be calculating the CD for, though in my experience they are listed for most vehicles..

Suggestion..
Low drag coefficient..
Light weight..
Easily stiffened rear suspension..
Lot of room in the back..
Proper drive train layout..
Chassis reliability..
Cheapness to maintain/restore chassis..
Initial cost to buy..

Porsche 924-944 maybe even 928..

Sounds fun but I don't have the time for such a presentation without a decent commitment..

2554  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rally will eventually end with a dip to at least $3K on: December 05, 2017, 07:24:51 AM
$3k is really a low amount to speculate for a dip, as there are no signs that market could fall to such an extent

No signs like the entire price history of bitcoin doesn't show it happening over and over and over the same way since it's very first pump?
2555  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rally will eventually end with a dip to at least $3K on: December 05, 2017, 07:21:32 AM
It went from 1200 to under 200
It can go from 12000 to under 2000

And if it does, NO, bitcoin isn't dead..
2556  Economy / Speculation / Re: 12K, great, another silly....... on: December 05, 2017, 06:13:00 AM
I think you haven't gone through the predictions in the market and also the news about the CME investments coming into play .. you should go through them some day because on 18 December when the CME will launch their so called big plan then the value of bitcoins will genuinely sky rocket and will reach a value that one cannot think it...in this phase you can say that bitcoins are in a  latent period of time where they are just Waiting for the big picture..
When the CME's plan will be launched they will get a generous hike of about 2-3k $ and that will for sure change the course of everything.. and as fas as I know everyone out there knows that bitcoins are going to attain a value higher than before thus there is no physiological barrier really!

Buy on hype
Sell on news...

I love crypto but my spidie senses are tingling..
2557  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rally will eventually end with a dip to at least $3K on: December 05, 2017, 02:08:27 AM
You are a newbie, why we should trust you? You are just a scumbag who has been posting trash in the forum to join a signature campaign.

The '2' is a clue of a hacked account returned in a different form.

This poster has been here for years and correctly called the post 2013 crash. I have no idea whether 3 grand is at all realistic but they'll have more clue than most of us.

Good call..

I also agree with the OP but I hope it's more like 5-7k area though if the lowest it will ever go from here is 3k then I'm happy with that..
