Well, since "Searching is temporarily disabled", I should ask here. Sorry if it has been already asked, but can we somehow set/modify voltage for further S5 overclocking?
We all know that at frequency 400 hashrate stop to grow, so may be rising the voltage we can achieve higher hashrate?
You can't from the unit's side as there is no adjustable voltage [or any true DC/DC], you'd have to modify the PSU's 12V input higher which isn't going to happen with a normal PSU.

I have installed the latest firmware 01.09.2015, really do not be problems, but there are always errors HW Can you post a screenshot of your status please? It is well documented in these threads that starting with the Dec firmware, all updates result in increased HW errors and / or occurance of X's on chips (if not both) to a large extent. That you have not picked up on this and keep advising people to update is a truly astounding feat of stupidity. I'd err on the side of advising to only update firmware if there is some catastrophic event that's occured. That's not true. Just ignore him. it is true, i tested it.. the 2015 firmware has way more errors then the 12/19 one.. it went from .0008% to .03% in just 24 hours running, then i got 1 x which i never had before. i would use the 12/19 FW.. it seems stable. perhaps its from the turning off the auto voltage? That 0.0292% increase is so insignificant that its the equivalent of going from 460GH to 459.9GH. There are other useful improvements over the 12/19 included. As to pekatete saying 12/19 has hardware errors is insane as there was no change. And as bitsolutions says, fixing that reset button functionality is imperative and recommended for all. tldr if you are worried about 0.1GH, use 12/19, if not use the latest.

Doesn't matter if you're a non profit... I believe the rule is that you shouldn't use other people's copyrights for any commercial gain?
consider the following: If I was running a http proxy, would it be okay to insert a banner at the top of each page ( like this) to fund the server? I'm not a lawyer, but common sense tells me the answer is 'no' - it would not be okay to earn money off of someone else's work without their permission. It doesn't apply to your example, because there's no commercial intent. But if there was a banner ad there... The law goes further than that [not a layer]. Every post is the copyright of the poster if reproduced in its entirety. So if the rights holder (or by proxy, the forum owner) requests that they do not reproduce their content then they would have to abide (ignoring they're in CN and would ignore it). Commercial use / monetisation doesn't matter in this case, if there is no permission or license then they cant reproduce content in its entirety. [As an aside, it gets more interesting in a dispute between the poster and the forum operator.]

I noticed that 2 long-term and decent users are missing. 1) DeathAndTaxes is inactive since 7 October while his last post is from 29 August; 2) BurtW is inactive since 14 October while his last post is from 11 October.
Both users were pretty active and being offline for 1 month seems to me a bit strange. Anyone knows anything?
Not sure about the first user , Never seen him my self . for BurtW , theymos announced that the user got arrested , more informations can be found here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=934268.0His daughter and wife made this website to get donations : http://www.burtw.com/ Theymos also said : " though I'm a little suspicious that the site might be fake." ~ Madness. We need to find out if the website is real, I'm sure that if it is real, members from the community would donate to him. Could someone reverse search those pictures on google to see if they were posted on social media? Because if they weren't, the website could be real. I don't get it. Why would we contribute to someone who a) did illegal things, b) made money from those illegal things, c) is now being punished for those illegal things, am I missing something?

Bubbleman is back!
I bought 6 total C1's and I have just one that constantly gives me problems. I haven't cleared the bubble situation completely yet, because soon as I move my radiator around all the air pockets that accumulated over time spits out into the pump, creating more bubbles. The highest temperature I've seen on it was 41C, so I won't worry about it much. And it is hashing over 1000Gh/s but have to keep the voltages at 755 on all of them to get that speed, which uses more electricity. I have to check out my electric bill soon to see what I'm paying, I could be wasting money here not even realizing yet.
And yet, another question. On ALL my C1's I have all the tubes are still clear. You can see right through them. No residue or anything on the inside, EXCEPT that one damn C1 I'm always having trouble with. While I was troubleshooting my bubble issue I noticed the hose going from the miner to the radiator was a weird color. So I emptied out some of the coolant and replaced that host with a fresh new one. Now the new hose is starting to form this algae or whatever it is inside the hose. This is just a matter of days to a week here. Should not happen. I have used nothing else in the loop except the coolant recommended by Dogie in the first post. All my other C1's are running this same coolant and all 5 of them still have clear hoses. All except this one C1. It's like a cursed C1. What could be causing this green crap to stick on the inside of the hose? Any sugggestions? All the other hoses in the loop are fine. Just the one hose. It seems every weekend I have a weird baffling issue with this C1. I guess it doesn't like me. Here is a picture so you know what I'm talking about.
Hmm. The presence of algae suggests you've got open air access somewhere. Has your fluid level been dropping over time?

Your guides are amazing. Briefly, I'm a guy that just wants computers to work. Bitcoin mining sounded amazing and for sure out of my reach. By looking at machines, then your reviews and setup guides, I learned. Enough to get bold and order some S1's. I actually unboxed machines, paperclipped PSUs, bought extra cables, booted and configured and mined. In addition to losing some money, it was honestly a big confidence booster. Without your guides - clear and concise - I would likely have never tried. So... guides are awesome.... thank you.... you owe me about $2k for getting me into mining. BTC is fine on that. What I'd love to see in guides is what I'm asking here... which PSU is best for the application. Not blowing the miner up, not causing a fire, using plenty of power, and doing it efficiently as reasonably possible. That would require you not only testing miners, but testing them with 101 different PSU's and PSU configs. Likely not possible. I will take the survey and the BTC you owe me, thanks! Back to my question, again Single power over 750 sounds reasonable and doable. Would it make sense to DOUBLE 750s so they aren't overworked/ready for overclocking? If so, wouldn't double 600w PSUs do the same job as the 750s? Thanks so much! I actually do do that with the PSUs, but they're in the "what you need" links. I used to almost always recommend the CX750M, but as power per unit has crept up then I usually recommend the RM1000. Both of these are the stablest, safest PSUs with a strong warranty behind them. There would be no reason to run 2x 600s / 750s for 1x S5. PSUs are more efficient between roughly 50% and 80% of their max capacity, so running 2 at 250W each would be quite an under utilisation.

I bought some S3's a few weeks ago from someone and I accidentally configured a static IP address on the LAN interface instead of the WAN. Since my Fing app didn't discover the new static address, I rebooted the device, but after that, I couldn't connect to the S3 anymore. The web GUI isn't available, ssh doesn't work and even a ping is not working. However, the device is hashing and I can see in Fing that it still has the same ip address that was given by my router the first time it connected.
I've tried to reset the device in every way I could find on the internet, but the device just won't reset to factory defaults. Every time I reboot, it starts hashing again and gets the same IP address. I gave my laptop that ip address and rebooted the S3, but it doesn't get another address, it just doesn't hash, until I change the settings on my laptop and reboot again.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Easiest to solve this one via teamviewer. PM me details when you're on and I'll fix it. Please consider filling out a quick survey about my guides to help improve them! You'll be entered into a raffle to win 2x $20 vouchers as a thank you.

are the slots that power the back chips ?
What do you mean by that bit?

What about noise level measurements? How can we more or less objectively compare it with other mining hardware before buying?
Spent about 30m looking for my proper decibelometer but couldn't find it. Lets put it this way, its the quietest thing in my farm by FAR. Its quieter than the PSU its running on :s I've slightly underclocked my unit to 900GH, and in a 33C ambient the fan was running @ 1600rpm with unit temps of 44C. The heatsinks on this are excellent, and combined with being only 50% power consumption of a stock SP20 its always going to be very quiet. So you should use PCIE 8pin? Or you can use 6pin? Whats the manufacturers reccomendation?
It does make a difference as you need to be sure when people buy their PSU's for these.
8 pin if you've got them, although 6 is perfectly fine. Avalon units always have power connections with a large safety margin.

Going further than others: Don't bother, you're more likely to end up with 4 fried PSUs and potentially a damaged S3. Even if you could underclock sufficiently you'd still be cross loading 2 PSUs. And even if that wasn't a problem (which it is), you're running PSUs at 24/7 load which they're likely not designed to do. tldr, don't.
Powering each blade with a different PSU is NOT an issue - that has been sufficiently answered. The rest of your assertions @dogie, are your usual waffle .... thin on facts, un-necessarily verbose! I was suggesting 2 PSUs per board, because you're going to struggle to do ANYTHING with 60W per PCB. If you've got something to contribute, keep it civil please.

Nice to see things back up and running. I run an 8 disk Raid 0 SSD Array as well. Certainly safer than spinning drives and knock on wood no failures yet. But backups are a must.
Thanks for your hard work getting it back and running so quickly.
Cheers!
Strato
Doesn't raid 0 provide no recovery if 1 of the ssd's fails? At least you can salvage some data from a HDD. The idea is never have to do that, so at some point you don't care. As long as you have an image of the array and a few hours of changes being lost are acceptable then you don't have to go salvaging. Or, raid 1'ing that raid 0 array.

Is there any way to tell which S3's have the variable voltage?
my one and only S3 is a batch 8 everything else i have is S3+
I would have thought the PCBs look physically different in the DC/DC area, but I've personally only seen one variant. I do know that there are many, many, many variants though.

A heads up to anyone in the US having these shipped via the new FedEx option to save a few bucks. I have been called/emailed multiple times today from FedEx asking what a 'Bitcoin miner' is. The latest is an attempt to have me fill out some FCC form (which I have refused to do.) I don't know if I will be receiving my shipment next week via FedEx. I will update the thread with results.
If you want hassle free delivery in the US, I recommend sticking with UPS for the time being.
UPDATE: I was able to state to them in an email that the unit is FCC/CE certified for emissions (which it is by Bitmain) and they accepted that.
FedEx called me today on my S5 shipment. I told them it was a specialized computer. He said he needed to know if it was FCC compliant. When I told him it was not a wireless device, he quickly was happy.
Passed on the feedback, thanks.

Keep in mind if you are using them for home mining, they are EXTREMELY LOUD compared to other miners out there.
I would have said the S2 is one of the quieter out of the latest units. Louder than an S3 (which were excellent), but definitely quieter than S4/S5's fans.

Hi, I have 6 Antminer s4. One of them have a problem. after 5 to 7 hours mining, stop mining without any error and i have to restart it manually. I try several times to flash firmware but i got error during check the firmware with Antminer( connection reset) and i have to restore the miner. sorry for english. thanks
What firmware are you on now and what firmware are you trying to flash to? If it really doesn't work then we can get it sorted with the below method. If your other units have upgraded correctly it might be easier to clone one of those SD cards. Make sure the good unit is set to DHCP first otherwise you'll get an IP conflict. Download SD card imager and use to make a copy of a good SD card. Then use it again to flash the created image to the bad card. My asic has the latest version and i tried to flash the same version. Yes, I have other unites. thanks i try that. Yeah that would be best, let me know how you get on.
