question: I am not one of you super-coder brainiacs, so this might seem a dumb question  Roll Eyes but is there not a way to detect plagerism using some kind of script to automate the search for plagerists? I would think an automated google search could also be integrated for the outside-of-forum plagerism. That would also help with identifying fake projects that copy paste their ann from text that they found elsewere.
2742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you spread BTC to people within you on: May 23, 2022, 10:28:17 PM
Hello all,

As a lover of Bitcoin how do you spread Bitcoin, i mean how do you tell people about Bitcoin and it's adoptions?
To me i have held many discussions with friends in college with me, sometimes teaching them blockchain, the future of Bitcoin and why we should buy and hold Bitcoin, how the world will be in 5 years to 10 years to come. With this little meetings i have been able to share with my friends and also spread bitcoin to mates in college and i know they will do the same and if everyone does the same tell me what will be of Bitcoin today. So let us support Bitcoin max Adoption by telling people arounds us, bitcoin remains the future of money.

How do you spread Bitcoin to people within you? Thats an interesting question. I really did not know there were people "within me". Tongue

But I am guessing you meant How do you spread Bitcoin to people around you.

In which case, the best way to get them hooked on a good thing like Bitcoin is to let them see your success with Bitcoin and then they might get interested in that as well. Us humans really do enjoy feeling like a priviledged race but the truth is we are just really smart monkeys.

And monkey see monkey do is very true for us as well. Just show them the awesomeness you get with Bitcoin and just wait.

Assuming you hodl BTC. Daytrading and losing money will have the opposite effect.
2743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any changes experienced within body - Gambling??? on: May 23, 2022, 02:21:24 PM
Gambling have brought me big wins as well as drastic losses. If my entire statistics is calculated this used to be in loss. I've tried different plans to keep me away from Gambling, however I wasn't able to do it. In the beginning I never mind when I experience loss, because I was single and now I have a family. I used to gamble without fear.

In recent days whenever I get into gambling I used to experience some changes in my body. Particularly stomach pain and I myself found the difference while gambling and not gambling. When I wasn't gambling I never have such issues and I myself checked Google and diagnosed the below. Does anyone have similar experience. Atleast for my health I need to give up gambling.

Irritable bowel syndrome
Also called: IBS, spastic colon

People may experience:
Pain areas: in the abdomen
Pain types: can be recurrent in the abdomen
Gastrointestinal: change in bowel habits, constipation, diarrhoea, inability to empty bowels, indigestion, nausea, passing excessive amounts of gas, or urgent need to defecate
Abdominal: cramping or discomfort
Also common: anxiety, depression, discomfort, loss of appetite, or symptoms alleviated by defecation

Google

Gambling can cause mental health issues which in turn can easily cause physical health issues. The mind is a very powerful thing.

Instead of googling your symptoms perhaps you should talk with a real doctor? It could be unrelated to gambling and it could be something else. I do not want to spook you but its better to be safe than sorry.

IBS and spastic colon can be caused by more serious things. But if you do feel the symptoms going away when you do not gamble then perhaps you should take breaks or just quit from gambling all together.

Or perhaps take on a lighter form of gambling where you limit yourself to small amounts?

This feels like a great and really feels like a nice day to see a dump! Cheesy Cheesy

I see you too want 8th 9th weekly red candle Smiley

Looking at the monthly, myself. If there is a dump it will be at the end of this month at earliest. Too much consolidation on the daily currently, I would say.

I would take a nibble out of a monkey sandwich. You know, just to try.
2745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no future as a payments network, says FTX chief on: May 23, 2022, 03:38:21 AM

Bitcoin has no future as a payments network because of its inefficiency and high environmental costs, according to one of crypto’s most influential chief executives.

I read the headline as : Sam Bankman-Fried has no future as an influencial chief executive according to Bitcoin.

I mean seriously, anyone who is supposedly an influencial figure in crypto should at least understand what Bitcoin is becoming and that there is nothing standing in its way? Does he even take into consideration all the neverending upgrades that Bitcoin keeps going through or that Bitcoin can be scaled in two ways: the blockchain can be upgraded to enable greater throughput
and additional networks, called layers, can be created to allow bitcoin to be transferred without directly using the blockchain.

Which part of this is not scalable?

And the high environmental costs is the argument I hate most. The problem is not the fact that it uses electricity but rather that our current way of generating electricity is extremely dirty and would be just as environmentally damaging even if Bitcoin was never invented. The solution? Green resources and new energy technology.

This is why you can never trust a Bankman.

He is just spreading FUD so he can fill his own pockets like the other fudders with too much fiat.
2746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you knew the founder of Bitcoin, would you still use it? on: May 22, 2022, 11:38:12 PM
Honestly, I am very obsessed with this question. We don't know who is behind the bitcoin, at the moment Satoshi Nakamoto is just a made-up thing in our head. At the moment we think that he is a savior and helps us to gain financial freedom and protect our privacy but let's imagine some bad case scenarios for interesting discussion. At the moment, Satoshi has around 1 million bitcoin.

What if it was created by one of the worst person ever? What if he wants to make us dependent on bitcoin as much as possible and one day he comes, sells all his coins and causes financial catastrophe.
What if it was created by persons like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, etc. These are the people who don't respect their customers' privacy.

What if there is one specific, concrete country behind the scenes? Bitcoin is a mixture of the cyber and financial worlds, this is the greatest power stack to own.

The inspiration for me to create this thread was this video.
P.S. I don't agree with Dan Pena, I would even say that if he knew who was behind the bitcoin, as he says, he couldn't sleep at night or could sleep forever.

Well, I would still believe in Bitcoin as I do now, however I would become extremely wary of the founder's wallets and the up until now untouched Bitcoin. You never know when they might decide to crash the price by cashing out. Assuming that the Bitcoin founder is someone I would not trust to believe in Bitcoin in the first place...

If the identity does get out one day, I will probably do a quick sell because I suspect there will be a panic selling. I would however buy back at the bottom or at what I consider to be a good buying price level.

Unless we find out that Bitcoin was made by the CIA or Chinese government or something. I would be EXTREMELY wary of the unsold massive amount of Bitcoins under their wallets. In such a case I would not feel safe buying until they sell all their coins, as they undoubtably would favor their own countries fiat currency over Bitcoin.
2747  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: stay away from bitsler on: May 22, 2022, 04:07:19 PM
Casinos usually start lowering rewards that they offer due to many reasons. Price of coins drop significantly, players aren't gambling as much, or they were just bleeding too much free money and they feel like they needed to change things up.

There's nothing that says they aren't allowed to change things up. If you think you can run a casino better, then open 1 and see if you can sustain giving away thousands in free money daily/weekly.

Just because you don't get a ton of free shit, doesn't mean a casino is a scam. Yes another casino may be able to offer more in free stuff, but they have changed terms in their free stuff too i'm sure.

Get over it and play where you think you get the most, no need to cry and make a thread trying to damage a casino because you don't agree with their policies.

Yeah, I agree with this. It does seem that OP just wants to cry about this whole ordeal while slandering the mentioned online gambling casino.

Unfortunately a lot of people seem too comfortable doing this whenever they feel the need to let off some steam because they feel frustrated at the gambling world turning out not to be as profitable as they expected.

I think they should be a bit more careful though, making slanderous scam accusations against registered companies without having proof to back up their claim can be seen as libel, which is not only illegal but can cost them a lot of money, should the company decide to grab them by the neck, legally.

Not really a smart move. Childish, even.
2748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The average joe would never accept bitcoin as means of payment due to tx fees on: May 22, 2022, 03:57:46 PM
For the love of all that is holy, if you use the lightning network and compare that to your regular joe's bank fees, you will realize that its the bank thats demanding the higher fees not Bitcoin. Furthermore, Joe has absolutely no control over his bank account and he is at the mercy of the government and the bank. Freezing accounts, forcefully withholding money, demanding arbitrary fees for the simple act of holding on to his fiat, which is becoming more and more worthless over time as the government just prints more and more as much as they want.

You really do not see how average Joe might prefer Bitcoin? Because everyone here on this forum definitely does.
2749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goodbye, privacy, goodbye, it was nice while it lasted. on: May 21, 2022, 09:17:43 PM
I see this as a good thing. Not only will this put centralisation into the meat grinder but it will also force us to find better ways to decentralise. The government has been trying as hard as they can to put Bitcoin and other crypto into a corner and has never succeeded. Centralised exchanges are and always have been a bad idea which goes against what crypto, especially Bitcoin, stands for.

Now is the time for more innovation in the area of decentralisation and DeFi especially.

Our governments have absolutely no control over our coins unless we give them control. Do not let them spook you into giving up control.

Never give up, never surrender.
2750  Economy / Gambling / Re: I want to make a telegram live betting group… on: May 21, 2022, 07:31:33 PM
Telegram is a scammers paradise and its probably the worst place you can make any kind of group which requires some kind of trust as far as your money is concerned. I don't think you will have an easy time finding people to trust your live betting group. You might have a better chance if you had some trustworthy people backing you. But even then scammers would see your group and its members as an easy target. Basically I would not use Telegram if I were you.

What was your motivation for using Telegram anyway? To stay anonymous and if something happens you would have a easy way to hide your tracks?
2751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a new sportsbook gain trust? on: May 21, 2022, 07:09:39 PM
The only true way to make sure something is not a scam is to dive into it headfirst. So you are risking your money anytime you do this, regardless of whether you are trusting a sportsbook which is new or one that is older. You never know when something can turn out badly.

But that being said, as far as trust goes, I would not trust anything new and wait until enough other people have risked their money first before I risk my own money. The chances of a new sportsbook being scammy is far higher than an old sportsbook.

The only way for them to gain trust is by waiting. I usually wait at least a year until I can give them ANY of my trust. Minimum.
2752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 40 high schools in Argentina to launch bitcoin in their curriculum. on: May 21, 2022, 03:33:18 AM
It feels like to me that Argentina is planning something big if 40 high schools are planning to launch bitcoin in their curriculum. I mean education is official government level stuff, you cannot really start making up curriculums based on how school principles/school boards want them to be. As I understand it, if the government of Argentina had a hand in this then there is obviously a future market incoming and they are preparing their citizens for a glorious bitcoin future.

I am quite excited.

This one is best.

But in all seriousness, I do not think the logo should be anything more or less than the original Bitcoin symbol. I think we should preserve the originality.

Everything else seems like an "altcoin version" of the forum.

2755  Economy / Economics / Re: A decision to make on: May 20, 2022, 08:32:08 PM
Would you rather buy a house to live in or rent an apartment to invest in bitcoin  Since bitcoin is experiencing bear what decision will you take make use of the season or let it pass.

For me personally, the better investment is obviously Bitcoin. But thats just my thought on the matter. I am not giving anyone investment advice.

A house is also an investment. Less risky during good times and very risky during bad times. But it is a long term investment and obviously better than renting a house or apartment and throwing money down the drain.

Bitcoin is a shorter term investment but if I had the money it will definitely go towards Bitcoin. The house just isn't as safe, since it is a physical thing that needs to be kept clean and always needs fixing. The returns will be smaller as well, depending on where you live.
2756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Great Bitcoin Secret Revealed on: May 20, 2022, 12:27:16 PM
It's adorable when someone completely misunderstands something and then tries to convince others that their flawed comprehension is some sort of revelatory truth.  Particularly when they're on their umpteenth username and their spiel still doesn't sound convincing.

Possession of a private key which allows you to spend a sum of BTC is very much a manifestation of ownership rights.  BTC cannot be duplicated like the types of message you have described.  I look forward to your next moniker and subsequent failed attempt to insinuate that there is no value in what Bitcoin offers.  People immeasurably smarter than you see the value in it.

THIS.

This is where the thread should have ended.

I absolutely agree with this poster because obviously anyone who does not understand something and cannot even explain it in a simple fashion has absolutely no business telling people the pros or cons of said subject.

I think 90+ % of people here really do not fully understand how blockchain works at the technical level and they obviously do not understand the algorithms and code behind it, as they are non coders.

I wish we had some "test" of knowledge before people were allowed to make an account on this forum.
2757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst odds of winning... on: May 20, 2022, 12:13:32 PM
I think that what happened in the Master of Augusta (2019) excited us all to believe a possible return... an accident "again" changed everything, age and old injuries are taking their toll on one of the greatest athletes of all time, you may not know anything about Golf but you surely know who Tiger Woods is.

The news this time isn't his big chance to win but that for the first time he's up against the odds, even the worst for a first-time Major winner.

Quote
Tiger Woods’ 2022 PGA Championship Betting Odds are Career-Long for a Major
Source: https://www.actionnetwork.com/golf/tiger-woods-betting-odds-pga-championship-major-event

There is a possible return of what is considered the most dominant player in the history of golf and even of any sport in its comparison, at the level of stars like Michael Jordan.

I think a withdrawal is seen in the short term at least in the PGA.

WyT?

People always like to make a big fuss about age when I think in golf, this matters much less than for example, in football or any other intensive sport which demands full body health and every little ounce of strength.

But again, this is golf we are talking about? I cannot imagine a 20 year old would have much of an advantage over a 30 year old in swinging his golf club. Its not really that intense of a sport, if it can even be called a sport...

I do not know much about Tiger Woods but unless he has gathered some debilitating injuries over the years which put him at a large disadvantage or he is nearing 70, then I doubt his skill will have dropped all that much.
2758  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game - Lucky Spin is fake? on: May 19, 2022, 08:59:34 PM
about this site
https://hash.game
https://bc.game

it has a daily Lucky Spin - win up to 1 Bitcoin...

I was spinning for over 8 month already, made 255 spins - and the result is total nothing... I didn't get even a 0.002$ reward...

as a result, I have 3.7 Million of JB coins (empty coins which can't be exchanged to real money) and a 10.6$ locked BCDs (nothing, unlocking requires:  Unlock amount = wager amount * 1% * 25%, and this means that to unlock that amount, you need to wager 400 times of that amount, and fee(house edge 1%) would eat 4 times of that amount)

so this Lucky Spin is completely fake giveaway...

site gives you nothing, it just expects to get investments from user that he will play on, with vip0 you can't get anything there, that will allow you to increase level (JB coins doesn't have any weight)...

and also, withdrawal representation looks pretty uncomfortable, it deletes zeroes, (BTC Min: 0.0009, Fee 0.0002 BTC, so you need to count the numbers to know that it's 90k and 20k satoshis)...

so this Lucky Spin is a daily free spin? Obviously if its a free spin then the only real purpose it serves is as a marketing tactic to keep you on their online gambling casino website and to lure in new customers or better said, gamblers.

Why would they make a free spin where you can win up to 1 btc a high probability game? They would only make huge losses that way.

Personally, I have never used that particular online gambling casino so I cannot really make an informed decision on whether or not it has any virtue or whether it is a fake scam site. But the fee seems a bit high so I would avoid it probably. It seems designed to keep people on their site. Just like the "lucky spin"
2759  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-05-02]Wikipedia has stopped accepting cryptocurrency donation on: May 19, 2022, 08:48:27 PM
Here’s why Wikipedia has stopped accepting cryptocurrency donation
The decision to stop accepting crypto as the donation was made based on a community request, which came out of a three-month-long discussion that wrapped up earlier this month.
Wikimedia Foundation–the non-profit organisation that runs Wikipedia– has decided to stop accepting donations in cryptocurrency, citing the impact cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum have on the environment. “The Wikimedia Foundation has decided to discontinue direct acceptance of cryptocurrency as a means of donating … we are making this decision based on recent feedback from [volunteers and donor] communities,” the foundation said in a statement.

“Cryptocurrencies are extremely risky investments that have only been gaining popularity among retail investors particularly in recent times, and I do not think we should be endorsing their use in this way. In accepting them, I believe we are mainstreaming the usage of “investments” and technology that are inherently predatory,” the proposal read.

https://indianexpress.com/article/technology/crypto/heres-why-wikipedia-has-stopped-accepting-cryptocurrency-donation-7897358/

Well, too bad for them. As the crypto community we should not donate to Wikipedia anymore until they decide that crypto is a good idea. They do not want our money? Thats fine. But they should not pretend to understand the nature of crypto. They really have no idea.

I assume what this is likely about is that Bitcoin and other crypto started dumping and they could not handle it. So just like a newbie coiner they ragequit and are now pretending like its cryptos fault that they panicked about the price.

Oh well. Their loss. Cool
2760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 44 countries will meet in El Salvador to discuss Bitcoin on: May 19, 2022, 08:13:10 PM
This is a really good piece of news for Bitcoin and all Bitcoin hodlers. However, as optimistic as I want to be about this news, I doubt that a single meeting will convince any leader of an entire country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender just yet. El Salvador has yet to show everyone their own specific use cases and adoption cases for Bitcoin. Simple hype is not going to be enough. Except perhaps for the marketing aspect of Bitcoin adoption.

I do think that El Salvador has benefitted a lot from making Bitcoin legal tender, however they could boast about their achievements a bit more. At this point it almost feels like their adoption of Bitcoin was nothing more than a short-lived hype (even though we know thats not true).
