2801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 21, 2022, 12:38:20 PM
It's no question that GGG won the first fight. The second fight could go either way. And hardcore boxing fans always remember that Canelo only fought 35 and 36-year-old versions of GGG. Those were not even prime GGG. If Canelo wins this trilogy, then he won against a 40-year-old GGG moving up in super-middleweight. It doesn't affect the first fight where GGG clearly won and that 50/50 second fight. Those punch stats are possibly not 100% accurate but it's close and it won't lie. GGG is always the better middleweight than Canelo. The great Joe Calzaghe won against an old version of Roy Jones at light-heavyweight. But that doesn't mean Joe is better than Roy at 175.

I don't know if something's changing with Dana White's mind. However, it is clear that he is not on good terms with Nate Diaz. But I think feeding Nate to ranked 3 Chimaev is way too much. Although financially this works well for UFC. Chimaev already said that he will finance Nate's burial. This is gonna be brutal and then Dana will release Nate from UFC.

Another match that is surprising is between Petr Yan and the Pink Poodle. Is the UFC ready to let go its investments on Sean O'Malley after years of babysitting? Or this is just a drama and marketing strategy for O'Malley? Because I think O'Malley will back out from this fight in the next weeks to come. But I hope this will really happen.

Day 18 Matches

Sobrang malas lately pati irl stuffs. Kaya sana mawala na ang malas ang makapag-isko nang muli. I think it is obvious na mananalo ang Meralco at Ginebra dito. And malaking question mark lang talaga is kung kaya ba makuha ang spreads dahil medyo mataas talaga.

Game1: 5:15 PM PH Time
Terrafirma Dyip +14.5
Meralco Bolts -14.5

Game2: 7:15 PM PH Time
Barangay Ginebra Kings -9.5
Phoenix Fuel Masters +9.5

Update on Adrien Broner's fight with Omar Figueroa. There was an online press conference for their August 20 fight. But AB talked for just a few minutes and then left. Here is what About Billions said before disconnecting himself.
Quote
“I ain’t with none of this shit they got going on,” proclaimed Broner. “I feel like Al Haymon and Steven Espinoza is bullshitting because why is we doing a press conference on a computer? They don’t do Floyd’s shit on no fucking computer when he fights a YouTuber. They don’t do nobody else’s shit on the computer, but they want to do my shit on the computer – so that’s telling me they don’t give a fuck about me. So when you say fuck me, it’s fuck y’all. And at the end of the day, that’s what I really just came here to let y’all know. Anybody can see it. At this point, y’all just bullshitting. Y’all’s been supposed to make this fight. Y’all giving us dates. Y’all keep pushing our dates back. C’mon man. Who the fuck do a six-month camp? Y’all trippin. So what I’m gonna do is tell Omar keep training your ass off. I’m training my ass off too. Let’s go in there and put on the greatest performance.”

Broner was obviously not happy with Showtime and Al Haymon for setting that conference online instead of a face-to-face with a live audience and press. He felt disrespected. Come on PBC and Showtime! The Problem is ready with his costume and then you told him that the press conference will happen online? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hello Sportsbet. Where are the DOTA 2: Riyadh Master's odds? Or is Mia Khalifa banned in Saudi Arabia? No pun intended. Grin I hope there are odds available soon today since the games will start in 8 hours. I need to bounce back from the questionable Chinese LGD performance in their regional qualifiers. But maybe no odds because this is not a major event in DOTA 2. Sad But the top and most popular teams are all invited though.

Center Deandre Ayton just re-signed with the Phoenix Suns for a $133 million 4-year contract. I can't believe the Suns earlier planned to let go of Ayton. They could've not played in the western finals this season and the finals itself last season without Ayton.

In Philly. I really like James Harden sacrificing his contract in order to sign more players the 76ers badly needed. They got P.J. Tucker and Daniel House now, all of them former Rockets teammates and chemistry should not be hard to re-establish especially on Tucker.

I took a parlay on Aspinall, Paddy, Ciryl Gane, and Usyk (boxing). I hope Aspinall passes this tough test with flying colors.

I didn't see people talking about this, but Alexander Gustafsson is coming back in octagon, and this is big news!
Not long ago I think he said that he wants to quit MMA carrier.
I thought he is retired. He's been inactive since losing his heavyweight debut to Werdum. Now he is back to light-heavyweight, and I'm not sure what he can bring to the current division. Maybe he is planning this return ever since, inspired by Texeira and Jan whom he had already beaten but continued with their careers and are still at the top. We'll see if he did find a second wind to turn his career.

10 more hours before games will start in Riyadh Masters. Still no odds in my bookie. Planning to take my bets on Tundra, Spirit, and OG.

So in the Chinese regional qualifier, powerhouse LGD went with my so-called plan B, join the tiebreakers and remove the no-hoper Aster.Aries. My bad. I lost that Aster bet as LGD just blitzkrieg their way to 2-0, both maps ended in less than 30 minutes. That's how good LGD is. And then they threw, I mean they lost to Aster in the tiebreakers. Cheesy Too bad there aren't 1 map odds in my bookie. And it's annoying when they just forfeited to Extreme. I hope Valve will remove the right to forfeit.
I remember someone mentioned that LGD decided to forfeit that tiebreaker game because they still have to participate in the Riyadh Masters.

The Riyadh Masters starts today and LGD's first game is scheduled for the second day. That's like 4 or 5 days. And the game they just forfeited to Extreme happens in only an hour or two after they removed Aster.Aries. But I get it, it's a nonsense game to them and it's probably the plan.

Most non-Chinese casinos around the world observed and respected Chinese beliefs for marketing purposes. China is the most populated country in the world. China is the second biggest economy in the world. And there are also hundreds of millions of people that shared Chinese blood and beliefs in other countries like Vietnam, Singapore, and many others. It's too big of a market to ignore especially if you're an international casino or a casino located in a tourist country where many Chinese flocks.

So akala ko kayo lang hinihingan ng new updates since ka-update ko lang last year. Kasi pagkaka-alam ko sa mga bangko ay 2 years dapat ang updates ng info sa kanilang mga clients. So kasali pala talaga ako sa new updates. May nareceive akong email telling me na meron deadline July 23 ata, after that I cannot use their services. Angry Cheesy
2812  Economy / Economics / Re: Wheat War I is going to be World War III on: July 19, 2022, 07:42:21 AM
I think the war is coming to an end within the next few months. Germany and other European countries are fearing shortages of gas supply this winter. I really think they are trying hard to persuade Zelensky and top Ukrainian officials to just give up Crimea and the rebel regions of Donbas and Luhansk in exchange for something like membership in the EU right away and committing billions of euros to rebuild its country. Russia needs to play its cards very well in the next few months if it wants to secure its primary objectives in Ukraine (e.g., Crimea, Donbas, Luhansk, and NATO ban on Ukraine). Russia needs to end this quickly before western Europe can find alternatives for their food, gas, and oil supplies. Food especially wheat maybe difficult to find and expensive nowadays but there will be some countries that can take advantage of this like Australia boosting its wheat supply. Oil and gas are everywhere, it only needs time to construct more ports and tunnels into Europe.
2813  Economy / Speculation / Re: “When” Will Bitcoin Price Break $69k All Time High? on: July 19, 2022, 07:17:09 AM
The biggest possibility IMO would be 2024 and then another all-time high happens in the following year. I'm still rooting for the 4-year cycle as seen in the previous years. But I am hoping it will happen early. A lot mentioned $100k as its next highest destination. Apple, Saudi Aramco, and Microsoft are valued at $2 billion each. So I think $100k per bitcoin is very possible in the next few years. $420k per bitcoin is too high but still possible.
2814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 18, 2022, 01:10:55 PM
Westbrook is 33 years old already and near to past his prime. He is athletic I agree with that and yes he is one of the most athletic and most explosive guards in the NBA. The problem is that, he doesn't fit with the system.
I agree with this one. Westbrook does not have the same explosiveness that he have before. He is still very athletic compare to others but the explosiveness that he needs to drive into the basket is simply lacking now. He cannot run as fast or jump as high as before.

A common issue to some basketball players that relied only on their speed and strength. That is why more and more players really want to practice their shooting, big man or not, it helps to prolong their careers. Imagine Giannis 10 years from now if he cannot develop his shooting. Although the guy is developing and is somehow smart. Maybe he can play basic simple basketball like Tim Duncan when his body is past its prime. I think Westbrook's ego is also a problem. That would be hard to teach. Even during his younger years with KD and Harden, I think most of the time he's got more attempts than KD and others.
2815  Economy / Economics / Re: The interest in Bitcoin in Turkey on: July 18, 2022, 09:50:44 AM
I think it is the same exchange that sponsored a soccer team in Turkey some years ago. They indeed grew bigger and bigger.

I read yesterday that Turkey is number one or second with the highest inflation. I am surprised, to be honest. I knew Lira continues to slide down since the 2016 failed coup but 78.6% is very very high. Is the Turkish government printing a lot of money too? I think Turkey is one of few countries that is benefitting from the current war in Ukraine. They are exporting a lot of weapons for that war. West Europe's winter is coming and they will be needing more supplies of gas from Azerbaijan where Turkey gets passage fees. More Russian businesses are also in Turkey and who knows maybe laundering money too.

The news from last year was that Turkey banned payments with cryptocurrencies, has anything changed regarding that law?

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey ("Central Bank") recently issued a new regulation which prohibits the use of crypto assets as payments for transactions. The Regulation Prohibiting the Use of Crypto Assets for Payments was published on the Official Gazette dated April 16, 2021 and becomes effective as of April 30, 2021.
I am not from Turkey but I read a lot of news articles this year and the Turkish government seemed positive about cryptocurrencies. I believe it wanted to attract many exchanges to do business in their country where the government can impose taxes. And if crypto is illegal then BtcTurk cannot sponsor its country's national team? Maybe it is illegal to use it as a form of payment only.
2816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 18, 2022, 08:43:05 AM
I agree with that, it's not a problem to sell this fight, the big problem is if these two will agree on the sharing of the revenue and purse. If one will demand a 50/50 share while the other boxer will not agree because he wants more, then this fight will just remain a speculation.

That 50/50 is never gonna happen as Spence would never accept that, the final call now is from Crawford, if he will agree to lower his share then most likely this fight will be realized. We have been anticipating this fight, it's a big disappointment if it will not happen this year after all the hype that is happening.

Crawford will accept a lower share and it's nothing new. It's on Spence if he really wants to force that ridiculous 60/40 or even 70/30. I say 55/45 in favor of Spence should be fair enough. It's not like Spence is a huge PPV draw either so his previous demands were unreasonable. The event will most likely draw 500k to 1 million PPV buys. It's like Spence 250k and Crawford 150k and the huge chunk of the draw is because they are fighting each other.

The latest in the grapevine is this will happen in November this year. So from early this year, then to October and now November. Does it look like Spence is still not confident to face his fears? So he is continuing to buy some time to make Crawford older and more inactive. Years of ducking and avoiding the boogeyman.

2820  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka Economic Crisis is Getting Worse on: July 16, 2022, 08:37:11 AM
The thing is this.....

Political instability are even worst than corrupt governments, because this triggers a power struggle in government and possibly civil war. Yes, they can over throw their government, but they will have to rid their previous government from all rotten apples.... and then replace them with good politicians and civil servants.  Roll Eyes

Let's hope Sri Lanka will not follow the same path as other 3rd world countries like Zimbabwe, where they removed the Robert Mugabe government and replaced them with more corrupt politicians and civil servants.  Roll Eyes

This is common too. Someone removed a bad and corrupt leader or a dynasty but will end up establishing its own dynasty. A promising politician might become corrupt once positioned at the top. Earlier, the Rajapaksas were Sri Lanka's heroes. They played a huge role in ending its country's decades of civil war against the Tamil Tigers. The elder Rajapaksa also developed Sri Lanka's economy during its early reign. And all of a sudden, things went spiraling down fast. Probably due to many incompetent government officials especially in departments that played a huge role in its economy. It is known that nepotism was rampant within the Rajapaksa family.
