2321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 28, 2022, 04:06:51 AM
Lakers on a 25 to 30 win this season doesn't look like a bold prediction. It's actually closer to reality hehe. Maybe they need some pep talk from guys like Tony Robbins so they stop doubting themselves and lift whatever curse they have. I heard the Warriors hired him during their first championship run.

If their line-up remains like this the whole season then that win numbers prediction is realistic. The Lakers have too many PGs now in Westbrook, Nunn, Schroeder, and Beverly while they are short of the other positions. But I cannot really say that the Lakers won't improve later this season seeing their losses aren't really that bad. Teams like the Nets, Heat, and 76ers are struggling this early season too but I expect them to gain their momentum soon and start winning again. Although I am less confident about the Lakers compared to the teams I mentioned.
2322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Countries that are Legal and Illegal in gambling on: October 27, 2022, 01:30:26 PM
My first reaction was about Greenland as part of North America. Over the years I was thinking it was a part of Europe just like Iceland and it is also a part of Denmark a European nation. Now I know.

Now back to the topic, I think OP's list of 10 countries where gambling is illegal means online gambling? Singapore is one of my favorite places to visit and I saw many gambling casinos there. The last time I visited there were just a few months before the start of the COVID pandemic and the casinos are still there. I heard it is strictly regulated especially to its locals but it is legal. The Marina Bay Sands a very popular landmark of Singapore has a casino too.
2323  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education seems to have failed in some developing country on: October 27, 2022, 12:45:51 PM

back in the days where big businesses in town subsidized the kids of their employees to go to school but when big businesses are compromised by unions, it shuts down. kids suffer to listen to apathetic teachers.

government has got a lot of things to intervene including education as a priority in building a nation. not just in Nigeria but in many different countries, education has failed especially when teachers are not paid well.

You can't blame education for unemployment. Lack of opportunities is also an essential factor for unemployment. If there aren't sufficient opportunities for educated people, it will result in unemployment. So, yes, you are correct that education does not guarantee jobs and can never secure employment. Still, it supports finding a good opportunity that fits your skillset and education.

Somehow teachers getting paid well also matters when it comes to the quality of education. There was also a moment when in my country government teachers were bypassed and their salaries remained low compared to other professions. What happened is our graduates are not that standard anymore compared to the graduates of the previous years. And I also noticed that smart people won't choose a teaching career because it is becoming cheap. Although we do have teachers' board exams, I felt like they are really not that hard to pass. Teachers are the backbones of the future so this profession should be taken care of.

With regard to unemployment, most of the time the educated ones have the advantages over the non-educated ones. In business, the educated ones are also at an advantage most of the time.
2324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question to players: what does really drive you crazy in an online casino? on: October 27, 2022, 12:25:29 PM
Pretty sure I do not want to wait long when I want to withdraw my own money. I expect my withdrawals to be just as fast as when I deposited my funds in a casino to make it fair. Second is the very slow response from customer support. Nobody wants to wait for hours for our questions, concerns, and issues to get answered and resolved. I applied for a fast internet connection because I am also annoyed to see pages and websites I am browsing load for 30 seconds to a minute. So this is also the same when I am in an online casino, I want it to be fast too. The last one is probably a bad interface, I like staying in a sleek and cool-looking casino because it also sets my mood.
2325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: October 27, 2022, 11:55:44 AM
Seeing the poll in this thread really surprised me that there's a lot here who believes that Bivol will win by a way of knockout or TKO rather than by decision and totally Bivol garnered 20 votes, 8 for that is by a decision over Ramirez's total of 10 votes. This is going to be interesting to see 10 days from now, two heavy names in the LHW contesting to fight the 3-belt holder Artur Betierbeiev if he can win his title defense fight too.

Right, maybe fans here wanted to see a Bivol vs Beterviev match in the future, unification fight in LHW. And although Ramirez is a good fighter, Bivol has the complete set of tools amongst the LHW, very quick, volume puncher and good defense and IQ too. And that's why he is a fan favorite here in our community, and his personality as well, he is not that brandish and has a sense of rumor. Remember after beating Canelo to look at Eddie Hearn and says "sorry for defeating Canelo", hehehe.

People really like Dmitry Bivol's personality. He is humble and honest, and unlike many boxing stars, Bivol is a no bs guy and straight to the point.

I don't know if Gilberto Ramirez is yet to taste the canvas but I really believe that Bivol is capable of hurting him. Bivol is not a KO artist but he was a KO artist before he fell in love with utilizing his boxing skills which is safer than just trading bombs with his opponents. In this fight, I see Bivol as the faster and more intelligent guy than Zurdo. Although we cannot just count out Zurdo too, Bivol was already hurt before and who knows the Mexican can also do that.

Also, some of the players that got eliminated from TI are starting to leave their teams the roster changes are looking spicy and i've heard some rumors about Nightfall leaving EG as he's planning to form a team with Torontotokyo.
This is just a rumor and not yet official but it seems that it's very possible and usually, we already get to see those roster shuffles every after TI when a team isn't successful with their run.

It is Torontotokyo wants to play with Nightfall and that's possible since both teams of these two, EG and Team Spirit didn't ended up with a good run with this TI.

There's a likely that this might be true. A lot of good potential teams to come out like, there's Topson who would like to go back on EU while ana, we usually know that this guy only becomes active every near TI season.

Kuku and Xepher has already expressed their interest in looking for a new team.

A disappointing performance would likely change some of its line-ups. Team Spirit as a defending TI champion and exited in the first round of the lower bracket is unacceptable. I honestly think Torontotokyo is the weakest of the line-up.

EG's run in the group stage was unexpected and would've saved their team to remain intact after a bad season. But after getting zeroed in their 2 bracket games, a change will obviously come. I'd been wanting to see Bulba getting out of EG for years now.

Kuku and Xepher's contracts aren't renewed. Although this is also expected. Kuku before the official announcement already posted about the possible end of his stunt with T1 and his willingness to test the other markets.

For around 2 years, PSG LGD line-up remained intact. Now, I expect another change after their weakest TI finish in years.

...So are there any active testnets currently that seem promising?
...Is there any website that collects all the upcoming blockchain project and offer testnet with rewards? ..

I bring to your attention a blog that I myself use to perform tasks in the test network https://airdropclaimers.medium.com/ which publishes current tasks for the testnet and contains a guide for their implementation. I think that following the guide, you will be able to complete the tasks yourself, even if you have not done this before.

Thank you for sharing this mate. I thought it is yours. If only I have plenty of extra time I will be hunting for these kinds of tasks. Nonetheless, I will be following this page for future use and I will also share this with my friends that are not that busy with their lives. I'm really amazed at how many ways to earn here in crypto as long as someone is hard-working and most of these are free anyways. The Aptos rewards got me really curious about testnets which I just ignored before.
2328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 26, 2022, 10:58:06 AM
Jake Paul and his brother are influencers and they have huge followers on Youtube and other social media apps. I think they are one of the most popular social media celebrities. And when you're popular and do something, your fans will follow and support you in any activities and sports you do. It's not like Jake Paul is a special kind of fighter, he is just a celebrity and most of his fans aren't fight fans. I don't even know a real fight fan interested in Jake Paul unless they get something in return like the boxing media, promoters, and networks.

It's like Justin Bieber and BTS doing an exhibition match. Of course, they will collect millions from PPV buys from their huge fan base. And this is the same reason why networks are willing to cater to them. This is business anyways.
2329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: October 26, 2022, 10:12:47 AM
Dmitry Bivol shuts down Canelo Alvarez rematch talk as he prepares to face Gilberto Ramirez

That is the right thing to do. Dmitry Bivol needs to focus on Zurdo alone because he cannot underestimate a former champion who is also undefeated and very hungry to win his second-division belt. And Zurdo also wants his big money shot against Canelo Alvarez. Winning the WBA belt is big here as the other 3 belts are already held by Artur Beterbiev so a single unification fight can already reap an undisputed championship, unlike Beterbiev who collected his 3 belts in 2 unification fights.

I may take a bet here but probably on Bivol. I wanna see them weigh-in first and see if Bivol is in a good condition.
2330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 26, 2022, 08:48:00 AM
Somnus has a lot of achievement even though he didn't won a TI. He is still one of the greatest midlaner in Dota2 history.

Means nothing if he doesnt win any TI. His name will go down in history if he win TI and will be left forgotten like few years after he retire if he doesnt, thats pretty much how it is with the community

Yes, he might be forgotten especially on the world stage. In China, Somnus is already a legend. E-sports is not that established, unlike other sports. In the near future, I want to see a Hall of Fame for e-sports too.

3 more days to go before the TI start again and its abit too early but Im digging Tundra to win against Secret. Odds are exactly 1.85 for both sides and its 1.85 for over 2.5 maps as well in Rollbit, not sure on another sites though

Here Tundra is a slight favorite at 1.81 to Team Secret's 1.87 which makes sense after the former made a 2-0 victory over the latter. But this is a whole different level though, both teams are capable of winning and they are both with great momentum. I bet on Team Secret because they are the team that is more experienced at the highest level despite qualifying late. I also took a bet on underdog Liquid to avenge their 0-2 defeat from Aster in the first round of the upper bracket.
2331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 26, 2022, 06:15:53 AM
We have 10 games tomorrow.
Just out of curiosity, I don't see anyone betting for the San Antonio Spurs. They don't have a popular star in their roster and yet they are 3 wins and 1 loss.
It's kind of intriguing and we are missing it.  Cheesy

And San Antonio Spurs won over top-tier teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves. But people including me are still doubtful if their victories were just a fluke. We will see if they can still win against the T'wolves in a rematch tomorrow.

I'm trying to calm down for a while since I keep losing with my bets either at DOTA 2, or MMA and I'm currently 1-4 with my NBA bets (1.90 to 2.10 odds). Maybe I need to copy or based my next bets on some of the analysis here.  Cheesy

2332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn aside from bounty campaign and airdrop on: October 25, 2022, 12:20:51 PM
Nice thread. I haven't really participated in any bounties and airdrops except for my signature. I tried Evmos before at least but I haven't received anything, maybe I was a little late. I have many friends spending their time on testnets but I thought it was like a lottery before earning decent amounts while spending gas on tests. Now it is trending once again because of the Aptos who just airdropped over a thousand dollars per testnet participant.

So are there any active testnets currently that seem promising?
2333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 25, 2022, 11:36:18 AM
Wow! I didn't know Ryo Akaho is now promoted by a Korean. Ryo Akaho is already 36 years old but he is not to be taken for granted by the inactive and moving up in weight Johnreil Casimero. And the venue might be neutral but it is still Akaho's promoter staging the event. Akaho is also on a 13 fight win streak. I think Casimero is undersized at 122. He may be able to beat Akaho but he will be an underdog to the WBA/IBF champion Morudjon Akhmadaliev and WBO/WBC champion Stephen Fulton. But it is good that Casimero is back, I hope he stays focus and win in an impressive fashion in order to generate a good ranking in his new division.
2334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 25, 2022, 10:26:20 AM
If I doubled my money in just a couple of bets I would absolutely continue to play. I usually play because I want to entertain myself. I will follow at least half of the planned time for me to play in order to at least protect my gains. And nowadays I don't gamble big amounts unlike before the COVID pandemic, so doubling my money is not much for me. Maybe a few hundred dollars of profit would make me think of stopping or at least making a limit on my next bets so I can still take home some profits.

So for me, what matters is my playing time and the amount of the gain.
2335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Early Is It Now, For Those Who Missed Bitcoin In Its Early Days? on: October 25, 2022, 09:28:40 AM
Most people want to become rich as quickly as possible. And most of these people can easily get scammed especially if they have limited knowledge. There is no easy money and there are no shortcuts. People that became millionaires from Bitcoin earned it. It may look easy but it is not really easy. Those people are equipped with knowledge, iron hearts, strong beliefs, and luck. I also dreamed of becoming a millionaire. But how many of us here continue to hold when your half a million dollars turned $60k? It's easy to say but when you're in that situation it is hard as hell. I learned the hard way. So for me, there is no such thing as late because it always depends on us if we are ready for it.

As for altcoins, it's always the bigger the risks, the bigger the rewards. Maybe OP's brother can diversify his money. And only invest money you can afford to lose.

Fasten Your Seat Belt Bitcoin Roller Coaster Ride is Going To Start for 2022

I am looking the charts of bitcoin to make some trade on it and found a historical turning point on it what you guys are thinking about it check and leave your opinions.

https://youtube.com/shorts/tycNLzRi44o?feature=share

Thanks  Smiley Smiley

Your short video should've been better if you also showed us the prices or the price range on the right side of the chart. I remember these are the same exact months last 2018 when I was so worried and it destroyed my normal sleep. It's because I just had a contract to construct my house. So I ended up selling nearly all of my crypto holdings just to secure it. I would've been a dollar millionaire by now if I canceled the construction of the house I am living in right now.

Anyways, you are clearly referring to the cycle of Bitcoin. Not guaranteed but yes, Bitcoin will climb up again next year as most investors are expecting another all-time high in 2024 and 2025. Now is the perfect time to grind hard while Bitcoin is still down so we have the money to invest.
2337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 25, 2022, 05:09:33 AM
Probably should have thrown a few dollars down on the Chicago Bulls versus the Boston Celtics. The Bulls are coming off a pretty embarrassing loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers and while I certainly don’t think this team is destined to win any championships, they’re still a pretty good ball club. (Spread was +5.5 for them).

But it would've been easier if we were to bet on the Boston Celtics since they started strong early beating Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers. This is unexpected as many thought this is free money for the Celtics bettors. What an odd result, the unbeaten and favored by the odds as the strongest team in the NBA just lost to a team embarrassed in their last game.

Cleveland Cavaliers has a decent line-up now with Donovan Mitchell running their offense. Pretty good starting line-up from 1 to 5 and they have decent bench players too. It all depends now on chemistry and see if they can match against last season's top teams.
2338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Education on: October 24, 2022, 10:18:24 AM
Yes, it is time for all schools to impart crypto knowledge to all schools like they are teaching finance and technology. In a fast-changing world, it is super necessary for students to learn what's new and what's old so they won't get stuck behind. Children are the future so they need to be exposed according to their gifts, skills, and interests. But somehow, basic finance and technology are also being taught in all courses and even at secondary levels. Bitcoin is part of finance and blockchain is part of technology and they will play important roles in the coming years. And who knows, the next biggest inventions are the mere enhancements of Bitcoin and its blockchain.
2339  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unpopular opinion about crypto gambling on: October 24, 2022, 09:56:24 AM
I always prefer non-KYC gambling sites, not because I want to stay away from taxation but it's because I always want to live a private life. But when it is necessary, I will submit myself to KYC. I understand that sometimes it is really needed and I am not scared of it since I am not doing something illegal.

Sometimes, we always think about our own privacies. But we also want to live in perfect harmony. But we do know that sometimes authorities need the information to deliver the peace we want and of course, they want to collect their taxes. Money laundering is rampant coming from different illegal activities like drugs, sex trades, kidnappings, robberies, and many more. So I can understand that these crypto gambling sites sometimes need our KYC, especially on big amounts.
2340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important are exchanges? on: October 24, 2022, 09:34:14 AM
Bitcoin can exist and survive without exchanges, no question about it. But I don't think the price of Bitcoin and its adoption will be at this current pace if not for the exchanges. These exchanges further advertised around the world the presence of a decentralized currency that is non-inflationary. Bitcoin and its blockchain is a revolutionary technology but its huge trading volume further convinced more people, companies, and governments that it's not just the technology they could copy but it proves that Bitcoin has value. The existence of local exchanges helped Bitcoin to become more accessible to many parts of the world.

I'm not saying that Bitcoin should be thankful for these exchanges because these exchanges should be the ones thankful for the creation of Bitcoin, as it provides them with opportunities.
