1901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I invest in cryptocurrency or start my business? on: January 11, 2023, 08:39:26 AM
Investing in business is time consuming as after investing in it you have to sit and watch it  closely. You also have the stress of waking up in the morning go to the shop so you try to run the day to day activities of the shop, but Investing in crypto currency won't stress you that much as all you have do is buy coins and stay on your bed or anywhere and monitor the exchange value of the coin either on your phone or laptop or better still just buy and leave it for long term profits.

For busy people, investing is the easy way rather than starting a business that consumes a lot of energy and resources. It will be hard to start a business and just let other people run it, most of it fails because they might not give their 100% effort and they won't lose anything. If a business becomes successful though, it earns more than a long-term investment. So it is always the higher risk with the higher effort that profits more which is fair enough. I am also torn between these two. But it seems I will give up most of my time if ever I pick to start a business.
1902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 11, 2023, 07:02:17 AM
Canelo though is wise now not to tie up or sign a longer contract after he severe his relationship with Oscar Dela Hoya. Now him and Eddie Hearn is just like 2-3 fights and after that whether Canelo will renew his contract or not.

This strategy has its own risks associated with it. If he loses 2-3 fights consecutively, then his market value may decline. Having a lengthy contract with someone like Eddie Hearn protects him from that. Also, injury is a big concern. If he is forced out for an extended duration as a result of injury, it may not be easy for him to get a big fight once he is back. And this is where a long-term contract maybe useful. In the end, it is up to Canelo to decide what is best for him. But he is no longer considered as invincible, after his loss to Dmitry Bivol.

And it is only Canelo that has the power to do his per-fight deal. 99% of these fighters are not powerful and influential enough to be at the level of Canelo. I heard Tank Davis is now a free agent, we'll see if he signs a new promotional contract or if he tries to copy Canelo's style. Luckily for Tank, the PBC has a solid cult of casual and blind followers. Otherwise, Tank and his team would've tried hard to negotiate with Bob Arum who has contracts with nearly all the big names and champions from lightweight to light-welterweight.

Meanwhile, as per boxing journalist Mike Coppinger. Spence and Thurman are now finalizing a date in April but they seemed to be fighting in the 154 division. If this is true then hopefully the WBA, WBC, and IBF will strip Spence of his belts as he has passed due mandatories that he never entertained. Crawford should move up too and forget about his dream of becoming the first 2-division unified champion in the 4-belt era because it would take forever to collect these 3 belts 1 by 1. It'll be better for Crawford to spend his remaining years of boxing attempting to become a 4 division world champion.
1903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: January 11, 2023, 06:35:21 AM
Usyk tweeted something to Fury earlier. It seems like he remained fit during the long holidays. I bet Belly gained a lot of weight after the long holidays. Weird it's the side of Fury that wanted a March date. Fury will be burning some of his fats in order to be a little quicker in order to catch Usyk.

Meanwhile, the IBF already canceled its mandatory order for Filip Hrgovic's title shot which means Usyk is now free to fight Fury without losing his IBF belt. I haven't heard yet from the WBA, WBC, and WBO but most likely they will do the same. AFAIK the WBO also has its interim champ Joe Joyce who's supposed to be next too but apparently, Joyce is also promoted by Frank Warren the same promoter of Fury, it should not be a problem I believe.
1904  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: JollyGood Free Lottery #1: FURY vs USYK (winning prize $50) on: January 11, 2023, 05:51:19 AM
Okay, I'll go for the underdog. Hopefully, the fight happens in a neutral venue to lessen the bias of officiating. It will be a tough fight but I think Usyk can outmaneuver Fury. Someone already took the split decision so I'll settle with a majority decision.

My pick: #54 - Usyk wins points decision W2 D1 L0

1905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 11, 2023, 05:19:30 AM
If it will take only a month for a quad strain then they might be lucky. All that's left of the Chicago Bulls is to survive these next games then the All-Star break will come, who knows if DeRozan is okay by that time? They still have halfway to winning most of their game.
The only question is "if" it will be that fast to heal. From the looks of his sudden drop on the floor, it's bad, I wish not.

Well, what I heard before is that 1 month is the minimum amount of time to completely heal it. We do not know yet the full report on how serious it was but the way I see it, it seems bad. DeRozan might be out for the whole season, who knows but hopefully it'll heal fast.

Here's the latest update on our KIA MVP Ladder.
1. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets
2. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
3. Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets
4. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
5. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
https://www.nba.com/news/kia-mvp-ladder-jan-6-2023-edition
Jokic added another triple-double to his record last night. He won't get out of that top spot and so is JT.
KD on the hand might not be on the list anymore for next week's update because of the injury.
Who will rank up? Those who are present.
Donovan Mitchell or Jaylen Brown.
Too bad KD is injured but at least he is expected to return after weeks of rest. I am cheering for the Joker to get his 3 straight MVP award and hopefully, his team will go deep or even win the championship this year. Luka Doncic if Dallas continues to win games has a big chance of winning the MVP, especially he is doing it all alone and the stats his stats are getting crazy.
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is The level of impact of FTX crash on Your portfolio? on: January 10, 2023, 12:25:57 PM
FTX fucked up my portfolio really badly. But then again, my eyes are focused on the 2024 and 2025 markets. So I managed to take advantage of the situation. I bought some altcoins and bitcoin at $16k and I am still planning to add more before it goes back to $19k and $20k levels which were the price ratio before the FTX crash. The same with altcoins although I think I have too many altcoins on my list and it makes me confused as to what coins will I buy next. Hopefully, there are no more big exchanges to crash again as regulations are stepping up to avoid these types of problems in the future.
1907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 10, 2023, 12:04:13 PM
However, Naoya Inoue's mission is to be the first male boxer to unify all championships in 2 different divisions.
I was going to say Canelo is already unify all belts in 2 different divisions, but after I check his record, he missed the WBO middleweight title while he already get WBA, WBC, IBF and The Ring belts, not sure why Canelo jump to super middleweight at that time.

It is a very very difficult task since you will be fighting the other champions which is very challenging already but there's also boxing politics. Champions are not obliged to fight the other champions. Negotiating with the other champions is already a tough one and it will be more difficult if the promoter is different the most difficult to deal with are the top networks namely DAZN, Showtime/Fox, and ESPN. That is why most fighters just prioritized getting the Ring belt and the lineal recognition in order to be considered the best of the division and then move up in weight for another challenge.

I am very excited as to who will be the first fighter to take that record. Before, my favorite to win it is Terrence Crawford as he only needs to fight Errol Spence to become a 2-division undisputed and then impose a mandatory on undisputed champion Jermell Charlo for a chance to become the first 3-division unified champion in this 4-belt era. But then Spence and his friend Charlo together with their handler PBC are not allowing it to happen. Now Crawford is getting older and he might not be able to get it. The next in line is unified heavyweight champion Oleksandyr Usyk although the task to take the last remaining belt which is the WBC might be very tough as Tyson Fury is the one holding it. But I am optimistic Usyk can beat Fury especially if the fight is held in a neutral location.

Canelo is a unified champion in 3 divisions but he failed to complete the task to collect all the belts except at super middleweight. I think the WBO champion at middleweight at that time was Billy Joe Saunders. I became a BJS fan when he took the fight against the arrogant Eubank Jr. But later on, I hated BJS a lot when he became the WBO champion and hostage the undisputed recognition. GGG already held 3 belts at that time but BJS was a dick. And then came Canelo who controversially robbed GGG's 3 belts, still unable to reach a deal with BJS too. Canelo and BJS fought later at super middleweight to unify the WBA, WBC, and WBO belts which the Mexican superstar won in a close fight.
1908  Economy / Economics / Re: The Taste of an Economic Downturn on: January 10, 2023, 11:24:03 AM
What do we expect from a corrupt system? I am not bashing the president, I know the guy won by a landslide and he might want to improve the nation. But the whole system run by politicians and government officials, in general, is rigged and corruption is too rampant from the top down to the lowest position. Laws are not for the masses but for the rich and giant corporations who's been paying and sponsoring these government officials.

Regarding the basic commodities in the country, hoarding is rampant. Exploitations of farmers are rampant. Many times the government noticed these over the years yet I never heard of people being arrested.
1909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: January 10, 2023, 10:58:07 AM
Beterbiev is a Monster in this division , though Yarde is also a good boxer but this not complement him of anything if the fight is against Artur so Maybe this is just a one good match for him at least to try His best defeating this dominant boxer , have seen this knocking  Down all his opponent for years so I think there is no best interest for Anthony to win this match.
my bet is obviously for Artur Beterbiev and good luck to those who will oppose betting to Yarde.
Earlier all the votes were uniform since we predicted Beterbiev to win by KO/TKO and then later we have 1 vote for a draw. All I can say is Yarde has the balls to challenge the beast from the east. Beterbiev though is getting old so he is not the same beast that seemed vulnerable in the past. But what is left of Beterbiev right now is enough to demolish anyone, so we will see if Yarde can take advantage of probably a slower and less strong version of the champion. And Yarde is fighting in his backyard too so hopefully the officiating will be fair.

95% of votes favoring Artur Beterbeiv and the only other vote is for DRAW meaning the whole community treat him as already a champ , well who can disagree as taking a look at their stats and their recent fights? we can see how Beterbeiv beating His opponent with high power of punches and perfect timing .
I am not a fan of betting in Boxing (only doing that if my countrymen is in the ring)  but for this maybe I will add some small bets assuring artur will win on this fight .
Odds are one-sided since Beterbiev remained unbeaten over the years. The champion is holding 3 belts and is only 1 fight away from becoming an undisputed champion. Here are the odds look like from BK8.

I would rather bet small on a Yarde KO/TKO and Yarde by decision since the fight is happening in England and who knows the referee might allow Yarde to hold a lot and the judges might give the close rounds to the home fighter.

Bad news. Another star was injured.
Quote
DeMar DeRozan injury update: Bulls star leaves game vs. Celtics with right quadricep strain
Quote
The Chicago Bulls had to finish out their game against the Celtics in Boston on Monday night without a key contributor. All-Star forward DeMar DeRozan left the game during the third quarter after tweaking his leg, and he was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the contest due to a right quadricep strain.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/demar-derozan-injury-update-bulls-star-leaves-game-vs-celtics-with-right-quadricep-strain/
We are not even done talking about the Chicago Bulls roster, how good LaVine had become, Lonzo Ball's injury, trade rumors, and this happened.
I wish it was not that bad.
The expectation of having an intense game against the Boston Celtics was gone after I read the news that will not return for the remainder of the game.
It was supposed to be a back-and-forth answer of offense against the Celtics duo.
Anyway, if that injury will need long rest for DeRozan, I doubt the Bulls can survive some of their games.

That's big bad news for Chicago Bulls. Just as they are starting to heat up and are on a 3-game winning streak with wins over top of the teams Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. DeRozan mentioned that the injury was already there but he continued to play for 8 games and then it deteriorated. I wonder what is next, especially since LaVine earlier was hinting at a move to another team. Quad injuries will most likely be healed after a month but the Bulls do not have enough time since they are at the bottom of the rankings.

To those big fans of ONE Championship. 18-year-old prospect Victoria Lee 3-0, the sister of reigning champions Angela Lee and Christian Lee last December 26. I cannot see any news about the cause of her death but a source mentioned she shot herself in the head. And that there was a heated argument with her dad as Victoria wanted to go to college and which means taking a pause on her blossoming MMA career. Rest in peace Victoria. Sad

1912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 09, 2023, 01:16:24 PM
You don't need two motorbikes anyways, so just sell the other one and use the proceeds to earn more money. Not a guarantee but I am very optimistic that bitcoin will return to its previous ATH. If someone will offer a fair price for my house, I will sell it and use some of the proceeds to buy bitcoin.

OP mentioned its inexperienced in bitcoin investment. So be careful because there are a lot of scammers lurking online. Avoid entertaining direct messages as some of them might have bad intentions. There is no need to DM on your case anyways since we can post here as much as we want.

1914  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: January 09, 2023, 12:48:16 PM
I find it very hard to manage funds , especially as I still reside with family  , and I have a generousity problem  , I can't see someone in lack and withhold my last dime even if it might be my capital  ,I don't mind giving it out to solve that problem  , I think when I eventually start staying alone,  I will seat up.

Same here. I am planning to live alone this year. I want to focus on myself and stop thinking about others that are actually not my responsibility. I want to take advantage of the opportunities that are up for grabs, especially since next year is already the halving of bitcoin. I need to save more funds because bitcoin halvings only happen once every 4 years. This might be the only chance that bitcoin can grow to a minimum of 500% since growth will slow down and there might be price stability once the bitcoin market reaches trillions of dollars.
1915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best altcoin to look out for on: January 09, 2023, 12:27:45 PM
I already have many altcoins on my list but I am starting to doubt more. I already have a long list of altcoins since last year but so far I only have ETH, BNB, and very tiny amounts of other altcoins. Syscoin is one of my main priorities to buy in the first quarter of this year. If you ask me why just look at their historical price. Cheesy Another thing that comes to my mind are projects for decentralized social media, metaverse, and then the play-to-earn games. There are always room for improvements and this year we will be getting some innovations of projects that failed to work in the last years like play-to-earn games.
1916  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie - need your advice after first trades (image joined) thnk you in advance on: January 09, 2023, 12:07:58 PM
That's cool mate. But you are not quitting your job in order to become a trader right? You should only do trades in your free time. If you are getting confident after a week of trading then maybe try to increase your capital to $100. Always start small and only increase it little by little depending on your confidence. You can feel it anyways but do not get too overexcited because the crypto market can swing big time. A single losing trade can erase your whole month of hard-earned profit. Take your time because there is no such thing as late when it comes to trading. There are always opportunities when you become a good trader.
1917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on the future of Decentralised exchanges on: January 09, 2023, 11:47:06 AM
The future of decentralized exchanges will grow but centralized exchanges will continue to grow too. The features offered by centralized exchanges are just way too good that it is hard to stop using them. People learning from the previous tragedies of FTX and others will continue to use centralized exchanges but they will not store big amounts as before. Active traders will be the only ones that will leave their funds in centralized exchanges. I am sorry but active trading on decentralized exchanges isn't as convenient as centralized exchanges.
1918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How profitable it is possible to invest in bitcoins in the new year 2023. on: January 09, 2023, 11:26:18 AM
Welcome to the world of bitcoin mate. 2023 is a good start in investing in bitcoin. Make a DCA or dollar-cost-averaging, I am buying bitcoin monthly. Take note that next year is already the halving year. There are no bad years in the halving history of bitcoin. And it is always the following year after the halving that the price of bitcoin reaches higher than its halving year. My plan is to buy bitcoin monthly until the halving year only.

But before investing. Of course, you need to learn and understand what is bitcoin. It is also a must that you understand how to secure your bitcoins as there are a lot of scammers online. Avoid entertaining direct messages from strangers since everything you need to ask is available in this forum.
1919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If Luck Was Measured In Percentage, Rate Your Luck In 2022 From 0-100 on: January 08, 2023, 06:28:55 PM
I had about just a little above 30% luck in gambling in 2022, though my own money management is to withdraw immediately I made some profits leaving some little fund in my betting site, thereafter continue betting with the remaining fund at times I do blew up the balance and deposit some fund to start betting all over again, however in the long I made some little profits, though I took a little break after rekting my account in the last quarter of last year, I am planning to resume betting any moment from now and coming back better after some thorough research and hoping to get better luck this year.

We are in the same situation as last year. I have nearly the same win rate ratio. Luck was not on our side last year, so I guess our luck will be this year. Continues losing on bets can lead to personal problems but luckily for some of us who's been here for many years, we became responsible gamblers and learned a lot about the nature of gambling and we survived the struggles in the past. The golden rule is to always gamble money we can afford to lose and that gambling is a form of entertainment and not earning for living purposes.
1920  Economy / Economics / Re: Effect of the FIFA world cup on Qatar's economy on: January 08, 2023, 05:43:13 PM
I would not call Qatar's ambitious hosting of the World Cup a losing one. The moment they bid and commit to spending hundreds of billions of dollars means they do not care about financial profit in the specific event. Qatar has the vision to modernize and tries to balance its economy from oil and gas dependence. It wanted to become a tourist attraction like Dubai and a financial hub like Singapore. Tiny Qatar also wanted to play a role in the world, be it in politics, sports, or anything under the sun. Government-owned Qatar Airways is always at the top as the best airline in the world. The new Qatar railway is also one of the best in the world. Al Jazeera is becoming a mainstream channel in many parts of the world.
