2341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 21, 2022, 05:49:14 AM
Fury vs Usyk have been postponed for next year if I'm not mistaken as Usyk said that he wanted to take a break. And then we have heard that Fury vs Joshua was also in the horizon, unfortunately the fight is also in a dead end.
Usyk wants to rest so he can heal properly physically from the fights he has been in this year already, we will see him in the ring again next year. Fury who is hungry for a fight and has been turned down by Anthony Joshua for that audience, will now fight Chisora for the third time who he has beaten twice before. Fury is in a high spirited mode and is promising a good fight, but since he wanted the Anthony Joshua challenge before which he didn't get heading to the fight with Usyk next year, his team should not want to be quick to see Chisora as a walk over. Chisora has lost twice already to Fury and knows exactly who he is getting into the ring with, he will not like to make it three times, and he was the winner in his last fight, maybe that's an indication that he has developed from the last time he was in the ring with Fury.

But that is not the fans wanted for Fury to face isn't it? we demand a Joshua fight and it seems that they are in the negotiation table, unfortunately, it bogged down, we don't know who stall it or what is the problem because that is going to be huge in Britain. Chisora is not on the top 5 for the Heavyweight, maybe it was just a keep busy fight for Fury so that he can either wait for Usyk if he wanted to make it next year, or continue with the battle of Britain with Joshua. There is also a WBC title eliminator that is ordered by Sulaiman next week between Wilder and Ruiz Jr.

Tyson Fury keeps talking a lot of nonsense. He demanded an Usyk fight but wanted it to happen this December which doesn't make sense as Usyk wanted to properly heal himself from his 12-round fight with AJ.

The Fury-AJ talks were just talks. Fury wanted to lure AJ into a fight and we know AJ is a warrior and will accept it. But we also know that AJ has a team behind him that will advise him to stop it since he just lost his last fight. Another obstacle is Matchroom and DAZN just renewed its contract with AJ and pretty sure it is not cheap. They won't throw millions of dollars only for AJ to get destroyed by Fury after his defeat to Usyk. Eddie Hearn will stage tune-up fights for AJ until they feel his confidence is back.

What's funny is Fury trash-talking AJ and Usyk while he is also under negotiations with undeserving heavyweights like Manuel Charr and Derrick Chisora whom he already beat twice easily. There are many good heavyweights in the ranks but Fury prefers to unleash his loud mouth telling the public he wants Usyk and AJ but in reality, he's cherry-picking his next fight. Why not challenge the WBO interim Joe Joyce whom he shares with the same promoter and who's nearly his size with a perfect 15-0-14 KOs record? That would be easy to make and it would fill a stadium in the UK for sure as Joyce is a British silver medalist Olympian.

And of course Tundra won 2:0 against OG, to kill our tickets before they properly started. Did not watch this one cause it was in the middle of the night for me bit 2:0 is again quite unexpected for me.

Lower bracket is now full of top teams, will be interesting to see who survives.

Another wild day in SEA TI. Cheesy

All upsets were 2-0, with no mercy at all. Good thing I controlled myself from betting today because I felt like the trend continues. I just broke my curse after my Entity win over RNG yesterday. I hope Last Qualifier Liquid will make an upset too over Aster to complete a whole upper-bracket upset.

The only team I might bet on today is Liquid if it losses to Aster. I felt like RNG could've won if they were in a room together with better communication. Entity nearly lost it many times and it took them nearly 2 hours to finally break RNG's base. But maybe that victory raised their morale for their games today. But I'm happy I watched it live online the longest DOTA 2 game in TI.

2343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 21, 2022, 04:43:50 AM
Heck of a game for the Bulls to start off the season with such a big win over one of the NBA's best teams, the Miami Heat.  DeMar DeRozan had one hell of a game, and picked things up right where he left them off from last year...

I want Miami Heat to win but I didn't follow my earlier plan to bet on them. Chicago Bulls upgraded their line-up this season with Andre Drummond and Goran Dragic while Miami Heat lost P.J. Tucker. And I also expect Nikola Vucevic to bounce back strong this season after his numbers dropped down last season. It will be exciting how Chicago fares this season. Last season they were someone strong but they failed to win most of the time against the top teams. Now they have 2 new veterans and Dragic is very experienced in playoff games which is the most important of all games.
2344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will digital dollar be a threat to bitcoin? on: October 20, 2022, 02:04:06 PM
Well, many CBDCs are already expected to launch. They are coming and it is normal because the world is turning digital. The digital dollar of the United States will be successful of course. But is this a threat to bitcoin? It is simple, the digital dollar is the same fiat inflationary centralized money while bitcoin is secure and decentralized. Maybe the question should be made the opposite because bitcoin is the real threat to this old centralized fiat system.

You can say that again. Bitcoin is really the threat of the digital dollar. Not the other way around. Governments (including the US) are afraid Bitcoin will take over the global economy, urging them to launch CBDCs of their own before they're left behind in the dust. I'd say they will succeed with the launch of the new digital cash system, but they will be unable to "defeat" Bitcoin because of its decentralized and censorship-resistant design.

In fact, I think CBDCs will be beneficial towards Bitcoin because they will increase awareness of digital currencies all around the world. People who haven't heard of or used crypto before, will get into Bitcoin when they hear paper money will be phased out of existence for good. Now the question would be whenever the USD will be able to retain its place as the reserve currency of the world right after it becomes a CBDC or fall all the way down the drain. If the US quickly launches its own CBDC system, then it's likely the US Dollar's position will remain unchanged. But be aware that China has already been the pioneer in CBDCs, launching the "Digital Yuan" before anyone else. It's a highly-competitive world out there, but at least we can be sure Bitcoin won't be going anywhere soon. Just my thoughts Grin

Right mate. Visa, Mastercard, and there's Paypal and the online industry is becoming a norm with stores like Amazon and eBay becoming huge but we haven't heard of any governments creating CBDCs. CBDCs only came up serious when Bitcoin and some of the top altcoins like Ethereum became big from millions to billions and then they just continue to grow bigger reaching into a trillion-dollar industry. Governments and banks tried to stop the growth of Bitcoin before but to no avail. Big companies are starting to realize the value and potential and they are also starting to adopt. So someone tells us if Bitcoin is not a threat to this old inflationary centralized monetary system? Grin

Bitcoin leads to the creation of CBDCs. And you're right mate, CBDCs can remain as primary currencies in this growing digital world but they also exposed their citizens to Bitcoin and crypto. Sooner or later, more and more people realized the importance of privacy and most especially the limited supply of Bitcoin compared to the unlimited fiat supply. The weakening of the US dollar's influence on the world market due to Chinese competition and the current arms race and mobilizations lead people to just select a decentralized currency like Bitcoin since it is not directly affected by politics.

Today one of the biggest matches happen between the Boom vs the Team Spirit, the boom manage to remove the former TI Champion in this game and they got easily drafted with this lifestealer game the SEA crowd right now in the hype to make another history in this game I guess EG will have a good time here because they are already secured in the upper bracket and give the chance to Boom to make another fight and of course the Boom shows that they well deserve to be part of the game, also right now one of the saddest story is the LGD goes down in the lower bracket.

What a game! And just like that, the defending champion Team Spirit got knocked out by Boom ESports in a BO1 match-up. That was crazy. It seems like the confidence of Boom were too high with a live audience noisy and cheering. Their hunger and eagerness were there as they showed brilliant displays of aggressiveness against the very dangerous Team Spirit.

Today is just another wild day in TI as heavy favorites EG and LGD got dropped to the lower bracket by TA and Secret.

RNG's 4 seats are occupied by teddy bears with only 1 of them present. I am betting on Entity. I think RNG will have a hard time communicating here, especially at very crucial moments late game.

Bantamweight: Petr Yan vs. Sean O’Malley

That’s the only fight I really care about or will watch. I’m really curious how it’s going to go. Yan looks like the better and stronger fighter, but when you watch his fights he doesn’t seem to have real knock out power when he lands good shots. Sean is the opposite. He doesn’t look like he could punch his way out of a wet paper bag, but when you watch him fight he knocks people out clean regularly. This is probably why they say Yan has fought much better opponents. I’m very curious how this is going to go.

How this will go? I am quite certain that in this fight we will witness many leg kicks from Petr Yan on Sean O'Malley's chicken legs hehe! There will also be Petr Yan's takedowns. I am a fan of O'Malley similar to that I am also a fan of Paddy the Baddy, however, do not be hyped by the UFC's marketing team hehehehe.

LOL at those chicken legs. I don't know what's on Sean O'Malley's head. But maybe he knows that his legs are too skinny and his slim body too will fold to powerful strikes once he is facing top opposition. If he losses this one badly, he should move up to featherweight and work on his legs and gain some muscles.

I bet on Yan but I hope he starts strong because the fight is only scheduled for 3 rounds. O'Malley might stay away, work on his jab, throw some kicks and wins a decision.
2347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 20, 2022, 09:15:47 AM
@Yaunfitda. According to the article, the president of the WBC said that the winner of Wilder versus Ruiz will fight Tyson Fury. I reckon because Fury is WBC heavyweight champion and Usyk the WBA, WBO and IBF champion, he cannot speak for those other organizations because it is out of his control hehe.

It might be much better for the winner of Wilder vs. Ruiz to challenge Usyk before challenging Fury for the unification. This will certainly make the fans watch Fury-Wilder 4 if Wilder becomes a champion of the other organizations hehehehe.

This World Boxing Council is the craziest and most corrupt of all these organizations. Imagine Ruiz-Ortiz was a WBC eliminator. And then the supposed easy tune-up of Wilder against Helenius was also called by the WBC as an eliminator. And now, we're heading into another eliminator? Cheesy Before, it was clear as day that when an eliminator is staged, it means the winner gets a shot at the belt. Good thing they stopped issuing the garbage WBC Franchise belt because it's unnecessary.

I think Wilder always wins when an opponent can take his punch and punches back. Ruiz can be dropped but he always gets up and comes back. We'll see if he can take Wilder's power shots and unleash his own power shots. But I don't think the winner deserves a shot at Fury.
2348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 20, 2022, 08:47:52 AM
What a game between Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons and it's really good to see these rookies putting up huge numbers in their NBA debut.
Banchero puts up 27 pts. played some good defense. But Bogdanovic and the 2 rookies Ivey(19pts) and Duren (14pts & 11reb) and the whole Pistons squad are just too much for them.
I wanna see the Pistons in the playoffs picture again.

Orlando Magic started strong but Detroit Pistons came back stronger. I avoided betting for Detroit whom I thought of earlier as the New York Knicks. Maybe it was a good call then but I think Detroit lost the spreads here.

Anyways, I am starting this new season with a 0-2 start. Could've been 0-3 if I included Miami Heat. A good start for the new twin towers in the NBA although not that great. I lost my -10.5 because I thought it was going to become a blowout. KAT and Edwards seemed a bit lost while it was Gobert and D'Angelo running the offense. Another disaster was when the Denver Nuggets got clobbered by the supposed rebuilding team Utah Jazz. Utah Jazz seems to have a decent line-up with no superstar.
2349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: October 20, 2022, 07:40:33 AM
For those who are interested on the PPV numbers, as reported:

Quote
Nielsen Media Research revealed that their second 135-pound championship match drew an average audience of 935,000. Viewership peaked at 970,000 for a main event that ended approximately five minutes before Deontay Wilder’s first-round knockout of Robert Helenius began on FOX Sports Pay-Per-View.

However, it  is down as compared to their last fight:

Quote
The first bout between Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) and Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs) drew an average audience of 1,322,000 and a peak audience of 1,351,000 four months ago.

https://www.boxingscene.com/haney-kambosos-rematch-watched-by-an-average-935000-viewers-on-espn--169844

But still though, I think the numbers are good and for sure the promoters are very happy to see this big numbers assuming that the fight happened in Australia and probably most buys are coming from the Aussies themselves.

Thanks for the figures mate. But this also means the fight is not on PPV since Nielsen Media could track it. The figures aren't bad after all considering how one-sided and I even felt it was a boring fight. And most of us already knew the results before this fight happened.

That Wilder PPV presented by PBC on FOX was crap. It was entertaining after Wilder and Plant delivered devastating KOs but they were fighting low-ranked opponents unlike Haney-Kambosos and the Shields-Marshall+Baumgardner+Mayer show. There's a good reason why PBC waited for Haney and Kambosos to finish before it started because they simply cannot compete.

But the best event of that weekend was the women's double unification fights between Shields-Marshall and Baumgardner-Mayer. I'm glad more people watched the title fights rather than the cherry-picked PPV.

I heard that some countries already started infusing bitcoin and cryptocurrency into their education system. I read it also that Argentina and El Salvador are some of these countries. But I think there are already many new financial books that are used at school that included bitcoin and cryptocurrency in it. It may not be a course or a subject but it's becoming part of any financial books. In my country, our central bank ex-governor and our current secretary of Finance admitted how powerful cryptocurrencies are and that they will be the future.
2352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2022, 10:47:17 AM
As usual, it's still Curry who leads the team, tonight he made 33 points, and it looks effortless on his part.

The ball movement of the Warriors is very much remarkable, it's the same Warriors that are good at dominating their opponent, and even if Lebron is their opponent, it doesn't matter, they are always there to dominate whoever they are playing with. Wiseman already played, that would give them better defense as this guy can make defense and can also produce offense, so this season, expect a more improve Warriors team.

Great to see James Wiseman back and healthy. I expect the Warriors to win. I think the Lakers didn't perform badly at all, especially since this is their first game this season. It's just that GSW has the better overall line-up. This Lakers line-up can probably enter the playoffs but is far from championship level.

The game between the Celtics and 76ers was another exciting one. I'm happy James Harden is feeling good and he seems back to his old game. Embiid should limit his 3 points attempts. I believe they will improve more in their next games. Kudos to the Celtics, great win and a great start for Brogdon and their interim coach Joe Mazulla. This team is still tough to beat even without Oduka.
2353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 19, 2022, 09:18:28 AM
I have my bet already for Petr Yan to crucify this brave Pink Poodle. Unlike his previous fight where his cornermen were denied US visas and Yan was forced to look for new cornermen in the 11th minute. I expect Petr Yan to be back, fully pumped and loaded for this event.
The stat is less than Sean "sugar" O Malley which I think is difficult for to him win tomorrow, other than that, his posture is smaller when compared to Malley where quite hard to hit his fist. besides that, his opponent can easy to reach his head when far from him. So, I bet for Malley for bantamweight.

Good luck with your bet mate. I just believe that Sean O'Malley is not the hype people thought he is. But I really respect his bravery to take this fight with Yan, a huge step up from his previous level of opponents. And I also believe that Petr Yan is still the best bantamweight in the UFC right now and he deserves another title shot against the winner of TJ Dillashaw and Aljamain Sterling.

And by the way, this fight is not scheduled for tomorrow. Fight schedule is on Sun, Oct 23 / 2:00 AM CST. Don't miss it. And watch Yan smesh O'Malley. Grin
2354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 19, 2022, 07:21:57 AM

Crawford is really in an odd situation if he remains a free agent. He is not Canelo that can easily jump to any promoters and networks but still dictates everything in the deal. If he fights the WBO number 1 contender, the undefeated banger Vergil Ortiz Jr., it will be promoted by Golden Boy and DAZN will televise it. Highly risky for Bud with no legacy returns except money. Ortiz is a superstar in the making. Huge fanbase and is a very charismatic guy. I believe Crawford-Ortiz will beat all of Spence's previous PPV buys. But Crawford can also move up to 154 and hunt for his 4th division title but he seriously needs a promoter to depend on.

I'm also thinking the same way, I also thought that a unification fight between Crawford and Spence is the next thing to happen when Bud haven't re-sign with Bob Arum. We all know that Arum is not inclined in these situation but without him, Crawford's alone and nothing to lean on in these times, also his situation has gotten worse because Spence's camp is playing on him. He badly needed a promoter and Mayweather is there ready to accept Bud under his banner to help him in the business side. I hope he will seek help to make this happen because he is getting older.

Aside from that, I think it's much better for him to fight Charlo in 154 pounds rather than risking his career for getting nothing while fighting the #1 contender, Ortiz.

Yeah, Mayweather really wants to sign Bud. The problem with Mayweather Promotions nowadays is it is just becoming one of the dummy promotions for PBC who's hiding under a managerial license. Mayweather is not the same guy anymore that wanted his promotion to become big like De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. And we also do not know how much Bud trusts Mayweather knowing the guy is a very close friend to Spence's team like Ellerbe his former manager and Al Haymon the owner of PBC.

Jermell Charlo the undisputed champ of 154 is from PBC too and he already said that he won't give Bud a shot at his undisputed belts. Charlo a very close friend of Spence wants Bud to work his way up to the rankings and earn his shot. So Bud can either get a tune-up at 154 or request the WBO to give him a shot at the WBO 154 belt which Charlo can vacate if it's still reluctant. It seems like these boys of PBC are trying to stop Bud from becoming the first-ever undisputed champion in 2 (Spence at 147) or 3 (Charlo at 154) divisions in this 4 belt era.

Money-wise DAZN has the deepest pocket in boxing right now. They got the biggest money-makers in boxing Canelo, AJ, Usyk, and potential future superstars Vergil Ortiz and Ryan Garcia. Bud can sign with them but it might also mean no more Spence and Charlo.
2355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 19, 2022, 06:45:44 AM
There is no DOTA today, so RNG has a day to rest, heal up and regroup. I hope they can recover quickly so they can be back at their top form for the main stage.

I wonder what happens next to RNG. I believe they will remain quarantined for 2 weeks minimum. Are there sanctions for them in this tournament or there are future sanctions? People brought tickets already for these coming Playoffs and The Finals for these teams to play in person. We feel sorry for the players but the team did something wrong and needs to get penalized. The hotel they are staying at will probably close for a while, the airport staffs and the other places they went into like restaurants are pretty sure worried. Imagine if they reach the finals or even win the aegis and they're not present at the stadium.

Anyways, Team Spirit the defending champion is in a life and death bo1 situation. SEA teams play like there is no tomorrow when they are matched with top teams. Cheesy
2356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: October 19, 2022, 05:47:26 AM
I'm already assuming that after this Ramirez fight he will push his chance facing Beterviev who knows he might also upset another champ and add more in his belt.

I think there will be no mandatory fight for Bivol if he wins this fight against Ramirez. The unification fight involving him will surely follow next.

Either it is Artur Beterviev as his next opponent if won against Anthony Yarde next year or someone else.

I hope Beterview is now fully healed for his match next year as that was the reason why this month's face-off with Yarde was postponed.

A unification fight will definitely happen if Bivol successfully defends his title again, I mean what else is next, right? This might be twice as hard from his fight against Canelo but if he can win this, his name will be hyped so much that people will call for an undisputed fight next. And just like what you've said, I hope so too that Artur Beterbiev will be healthy again because watching a fight where the other side have some problems is not that interesting to see.

If Canelo is not exercising his rematch clause or is not interested in another Mexican in Ramirez, I really hope the winner of this fight faces Beterbiev or Yarde for the undisputed belts. Bob Arum already mentioned that the fight needs to happen under his promotion with ESPN televising it. Top Rank may sound selfish but unless we hear about Eddie Hearn's counter offer then Bob has a point, especially since Beterbiev is considered the lineal champ in this division aside from his 3 belts compared to Bivol's 1 belt. It would be interesting to hear Matchroom's take on this one. Both Beterbiev and Bivol clearly wanted to fight each other already, hopefully, their promoters and networks agree to a deal.
2357  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save as food inflation jumps more than 11% in a year on: October 18, 2022, 10:40:33 AM
Great tips. And I am actually doing them all. Another thing we did at home is we plant some manageable kinds of stuff like vegetables and fruits in front and at the back of our house. And I live in a small lot only with like 15 to 20 square meters of space. It first started when I stopped my plan to make a terrace in front of our house due to these hard times. One time while eating a sweet watermelon, I threw its seeds in front of our house. I didn't expect for it to grow up so we take care of it. To make it short, we harvested 9 big sweet watermelons before the plant died. Because of that incident, we already planted pumpkins, bitter gourds, chili plants, and many more that are not demanding of space.

Yes, I like the tips in this thread too. They can be very useful in times like these.

From my own experience I can add that we can catch fishes if living close to a river, sea or pond. We can pick berries and nuts if there's a forest nearby. We, humans, were hunter-gatherers for most of our existence, so, we are wired for this activity, and that's why we like it so much.

Well said, mate. We, humans, have great survival instincts indeed.

I really missed fishing in the sea. To be honest, I am seriously thinking about selling my house in the city. But my mother is living with me. My dream is to live in a rural area near the sea with enough space to start my own small farm. Probably not that far from a city and with a stable internet connection. It's perfect, living with nature while having fresh air, seafood, vegetables, fruits, and meat.
2358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: October 18, 2022, 09:54:56 AM
I also won't agree with you. Yes El Salvador made a good investment, but with current market conditions, I belive it will take some time for those investments to mature. One thing I am sure the crypto friendly environment will going to greatly boost the economy.

Exactly. El Salvador's venture into Bitcoin is already branded as a failure by many financial institutions because of the ongoing market situation. But we are optimistic that in 8 years, El Salvador's investments will be worth a lot. Its capital will grow to more or less 50 folds by then. And considering El Salvador is a crypto-friendly nation, there will be huge investments and opportunities coming for them. If their government can offer a high level of security, crypto investors will flock. I am seeing a bright future for El Salvador and its citizens. But pretty sure 8 years is not enough for a poor country like El Salvador to become the richest.

Few more days before the much-awaited UFC 280. This is probably the most stacked event in UFC history. Great matches that are equal or nearly equal to each other. Makhachev is on a 10-fight win streak but it is not on the same level as Oliveira's opponents.
