Really sad to see this thread... There are still quite a bit of people who use Bitcoin to do wrong, and many more that are unlucky and mistreated and misjudged by justice and courts, simply because someone wants a cut of their services and/or profit...

I'm not sure I understand the first post, how would filling the 20mb blocks make it different from filling the 1mb blocks?

Obviously voting XT, as they are the ones interested in forking for bigger blocks. Will change my vote to Core if they announce bigger blocks too.

Satoshi will never have anyone succeeding him. Any core dev was never supposed to succeed him, just help him review code and publish it... And that's what they still do, they just do it without Satoshi now

Don't leave anything anywhere you can't fully control what leaves from that place. That's the way to go...

As it is obvious, they can be a threat to Bitcoin, but up only until a certain point. They could in theory push bad code... Although it would be detected before it hit a major release, I think. But we have very good and valid reasons to believe they will never botch Bitcoin code. As for forking, well, we shouldn't be afraid of forking. Forking means Bitcoin is changing, and change can be good. We, as users, miners, merchants, etc just have to vote on which fork we want to be in, by running the matching client... Bitcoin and the blockchain make it all easy

I think this is a good move. People had their heads underneath the sand for too much time and some are now realising that the limit needs to be raised, as we are very quickly approaching the limit for our blocks. This move puts miners and users on the "voting seats"... We will now choose what we want: big or small blocks. Let's see who wins

I can't really see why this is an advantage. It's another incentive to address reuse, and it makes an email huge as hell and non-memorizeable...

Obviously they aren't winning this, but how on earth is it possible that they're nominated? I can't even conceive how it's possible for someone to put a company with KnC's track record on the road for a "Best Crypto Startup" prize...
Isn't there any scam prize?

Looks like we are up, finally Everyone, update your passwords!

Private keys can be dumped via Bitcoin Core without syncing, and also via pywallet. Remember to do it in an offline computer

This seems like a nice study with pretty conclusive results. I've used most wallet they analysed and I agree with their results. I also didn't know OBPP. About time we have such an organisation. Let's just hope they don't crash and burn...

Since the funds don't seem to be separated, depositing/gambling/withdrawing there or in any other spinoff of this site is exactly the same as playing on MoneyPot?
Users have their own balance for your site, it's completely separated from their normal moneypot balances and their balances at other "powered by moneypot.com" sites OP says one does not need to add funds... What if a user wins big time? How will he be getting paid?

Hello,
I have an old wallet file backup of Bitcoin client. I believe it was Bitcoin Core V 0.7. What is the recommended/best way to restore the private key in order to: 1) View my balance 2) Use the those bitcoins
Thank you
Just add it to a Bitcoin Core install, or dump the keys via pywallet

I've been interested in it for 2/2,5 years, and using it for more or less 1,5 years. I'm planning on staying for the long run. I will get my first coins tomorrow. I am pretty excited about it. My wife thinks I am a big nerd.
I wish I had a counter argument for you to use. If you come up with one let me know, my wife thinks the same. I want some arguments too The difference is, in my case, everyone around me thinks I'm a nerd, haha

Waiting for a pizza restaurant near me that accepts Bitcoin. I think we've already been further away from that happening

No link for the source code? I'd like to run this on Ubuntu
