We know for sure it holds a halving. We know too that block size discussion will be back when we hit the date on those time-triggered BIP's. We also know almost for certain that the difficulty will increase The rest is just hypothesis/probable things.

I'm new to this...
What is that 50% in xx time for when generating an address??
It means you have 50% chance of finding an address in those hours.

thats cool , i wonder if she got paid to advertise bitcoin or just did it cuz maybe she likes bitcoin? or she has no idea what that logo is and thinks it looks nice I wonder if they paid Ravenbit for the guest appearance Speaking more seriously, I wonder if the coin maker is aware of this Lmao this is the funniest thing i have seen today! I guess the movie DOPE 2015 has influenced them to do this .Wow they're actually to dumb to understand that bitcoin is a real currency .
How are they dumb to understand Bitcoin? They've put it on their video... I guess they're knowledgeable enough of what's it about at this time.

Blockchain isn't very known for being good or precise... Their nodes might have simply not seen the transaction or there's simply some kind of delay on their database.
|
|
|
Also don't know the artist, but it's pretty interesting! People might watch this and be curious about what that coin is about... Also a good publicity for Ravenbit coins

I don't see the need to change something that works and is already widely known and that doesn't really change the way people interact with Bitcoin.. Unless someone has an amazing logo to submit, which I am yet to see

I'm currently on an Android phone and make use of MyCelium as a hot wallet.
With MyCelium I'm able to 'import/link' the wallets I have on my Trezor by using a USB On-The-Go cable. So I'm able to send funds from my Trezor through MyCelium.
I will however be switching to an iPhone towards the end of the month and was wondering whether the iOS version of MyCelium can also do this, if not, is there any other iOS wallet with similar functionality?
If not is there one that will allow me to import the xpub keys of the Trezor wallets as watch-only wallets?
iOS has no USB OTG functionality. As for the xpub importing, I cannot answer, but so far I haven't come across a wallet that allowed such a thing.

Very often we receive feedback of people being practically saved by Bitcoin when abroad or when in need... So define emergency in your thread title There are emergencies where Bitcoin is in fact valuable...

|

You'd probably be better off announcing this on Meetups

I guess this is a pretty legitimate use for Bitcoin and there's nothing wrong with it, assuming that what's on the website is true. Nobody needs to know what people do, and lonely, rich people that use the service probably say thanks for these companies that accept Bitcoin and end up using their services more... Kinf of a win-win situation.

bread might be a scam to hack us all
Why scam when you have a reliable product that people use? Besides... bread might be a scam to hack us all
Code is open source, and anyone can compare app store binaries against one they build themselves and then examine any differences. We continue to work to remove sources of non-determinism from the build process so that binaries will be identical, as is done with bitcoin-core. That "scam" wouldn't go too far

Soon. Pretty curious to know what comes out of this... And what prices will those bids reach

-- I have read a couple of news items about BTC being used to buy houses (or as an option to pay). Would this be possible or reasonably feasible in amounts up to, say, $1,000,000 or even more?
Didn't see this point discussed... This would definitely be feasible and I'd do it if I could It would be definitely be possible and probably easier than with fiat, provided you have all the funds.

Seems pretty interesting A bit like paid lobbies on chopcoin. Let's see if this wins some traction. I think it would have to improve on visuals to be more appealing...

Just wanted to post saying I got the SD's and the case today! Case seems to be good and SD's have been briefly tested and are working. Shipping said it would take anything between 7 and 21 days. It took about 8 days to arrive, so pretty good! Thank you minerjones Here are some pics. One of the SD's isn't there because it's already in use.

Thank you for all the fast info and good wishes Hardware specs, a few years old laptop with an SSD, so I am chalking things up to hardware specs. So I will either wait for a few more nights to get this up and running or try the wallet.dat tip and see if that will work. Which wallet do you guys suggest as being the safest and cost effective solution? I plan on investing a small chunk of my income into bitcoin so I hope to accumulate quite a few of them in the long run I don't have an SSD, but your syncing speed seems quite slow if you have one. Bottleneck can be on RAM and/or CPU then... A wallet is as safe as you make it. most known wallets let you do many things regarding security, such as Bitcoin Core, Electrum and Armory. You have to see whatever suits you the best. You can have daily spending coins on a wallet like Electrum, Bitcoin Wallet for Android, Mycelium, breadwallet or even a web wallet (although this isn't very recommendable). Side by side with this you should have a Cold Storage with something like Armory, Bitcoin Core or Electrum. Download wallets, try them and see what system suits you best

Quite a fancy case Will some of the new products fit this case too?

breadwallet source code is public and it's an amazing app. I've tried several wallets for iOS and none struck my eye as breadwallet did. It's simply amazing. Has enough functionality for a mobile wallet, it's simple, secure, very nicely developed and the developer is pretty much always around to help and answer questions. It's a very solid and nice project. There are quite a few wallets. I don't see a need for more, unless some groundbreaking client is coded... A new client would bring the same functionality as another client already has. There's enough competition, a new product would most likely add to the confusion.
