Pretty weird of them that they're doing this. Do they have any incentive to block communications on this port? Or am I just being too paranoid? Anyways, send them threats like "open the port, or else...". I doubt it would work on America, unfortunately, but it works in Europe. Then either change ISP or port.

Source code?
Can you make this for sub-forum notifications on new topic?

Not in favor of dos'ing these guys (although they do deserve it...). The reason is, they might be mad and retaliate and we really should't be giving them much attention...

I used to differentiate my portfolio quite a bit with Bitcoin and alts. There was no fixed percentage, I just bought some coins whenever I could and I'd try and trade them. I have a day job, so making quick trade moves wasn't all that easy and I also ended up either getting eaten up or simply trading without a profit. Meanwhile I got tired of all this and sold pretty much everything to Bitcoin, ignored price moves and just buy up and stock it up or spend it shopping

If Bitcoin was over hyped, media all over the world would open their TV/radio shows, magazines and newspapers with the next big thing on Bitcoin, some kind of new client release, or anything similar, and there would be price statistics and historic charts right next to the weather reports No, there isn't any over hype. There is simply a relatively small group of people developing and raising awareness of cryptocurrencies.

Maybe people flocking away because of the recent scamming on gift cards for Bitcoin? Can't really see other reason (although this isn't a very good one)

I don't mind trusting miners so far... I trust they'll mine my transactions and not simply ignore/blacklist them for whatever reason. I trust them this far, as I don't have powerful mining equipment neither do I have ways to control a big percentage of hashpower.
That being said, nobody needs to trust miners... Let's just make blocks scale according to the current network status.

It was apparently handled already. Can't seem to see more spamming on the recent posts. As for the notification system, I am aware that I'm not trusted, but I wouldn't mind being part of it as I've been reporting quite a few of these spam guys.

So september 2015 SPAM bitcoin from a society have already a thread ? I was in hopes these guys would forget about "tests". But someone posted on their thread. This is why we can't have nice things Anyways, the OP seems to have forgotten about his account here. They won't probably stress test anything after what happened.

yeah? then why are you just leaving those posts alone like that? shouldn't you be deleting it?
also there's probably nothing you can do to prove that your account was really hacked. I dare say it's impossible.
I've requested the user to delete the posts. It's going indeed to be really hard to prove ownership. However the MO of the malware link spammer is simply trash the accounts. Why would the hacker want to keep this one? If the OP is still the hacker, something a bit odd is going on here And because of this I don't remove the threads: You cannot delete your own topics in this board. This is unfortunate... Wasn't aware of this impossibility

The user has been in contact with me via PM's as I gave him negative trust after I saw the spam posts. I have reasons to believe this is now the original user speaking from this account, however he has no publicly known Bitcoin address on the forums and he doesn't have a way to sign a message from the altcoin addresses he has on his post history. Internet Wayback Machine has a snapshot of his profile, with a blog linked. As you can see the user has now posted there indicating that he probably has control of his account again. Also, on his Trust page, he has untrusted positive feedback for discovering and accusing hackers. Therefore, I think I will remove my negative feedback from this user when all spam posts are deleted.

Here we go again . Wonder if he purposely chose to start on a Saturday because the Globals have their spa days on the weekends . I bet he is doing exactly that, If I remember correctly these attacks have been happening only on weekends. Reported everything I could (think I reported pretty much all his posts). Seems like he stopped now.

Talks about BIP's are finally converging, and scaling is also a nice option... I voted no preference anyways. I think BIP 100 and 101 have a bit to learn about each other The virtue is in the middle. And maybe for the future we can think of scaling solutions. Or even now! Who knows... But scaling has some visible flaws as seen on this thread Also, BIP100 allows enough scalability...

A visionary, and the first recipient of a Bitcoin transaction. That makes for a great man in my books. RIP. We might see him around again one day...

Buying altcoins was a pretty bad mistake here...

The Bitcoin Foundation is useless as of now and will probably be forever. They have been involved in scandals and "bankruptcy", as you may see in the last few months of history in the Press sub-forum.
They're here for nothing, they fund their pockets and nothing else, they do nothing and they don't really exist anymore.

This looks amazing. I wish there were more operators like this. They're even selling their phones with Bitcoin! The only thing that's a bit odd are the prices and that "Bandwidth speed" and "Data speed" what do they mean by this?

This was pretty interesting All those arcades were amazing!. But I won't say anything else to spoil That way of distributing content through microtransactions is pretty neat. The trailer before makes you really curious... And then you just point your phone to the QR Have you been having many users?

I was recently trying out a bunch of Android wallets... I noticed HiveWallet had something of the sort. They call it "Waggle" and it detects other Hive users that are nearby. Mycelium has a option to look nearby for buyers/sellers I think - but that's a little different. I haven't actually used either one, and I suspect other wallets may do something similar too. This could be very interesting for merchants. There could be something on a wallet that rang a notification when you were nearby some store accepting Bitcoin... Adding to the OP's question... is there something similar to what I mentioned?
