301  Other / Meta / Re: JollyGood: an amazing journey becoming Hero member rank on 1st January 2020 on: January 08, 2020, 11:45:05 AM
Congratulations JG! It's nice to see the work you've put in has paid off.
302  Economy / Reputation / Re: Top 1000 merit receivers who were not active the past 30 days. on: December 20, 2019, 09:19:51 AM
I wonder what one could do with such information? Don't see how that will be used in any informative way. I personally think if I was inactive for whatever reasons, I should be left alone. But again unless you convince me otherwise.
303  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] bmy.guide's Postcard Campaign $15,000 Overall Prize and $500 Bonus Today! on: December 18, 2019, 02:00:05 PM
Do we have to follow the participation process just to submit the answer to the ultimate question? There is a google-form for doing that. Are we allowed to post multiple answers to that question from one account by resubmitting the form?
304  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Bitcoin Generator on: December 18, 2019, 01:33:38 PM
The loading messages you see after putting your bitcoin addresses are so damn cringy. Seems like the dude behind that site is a "HackerMan". "Securing Tunnel Packets", "Writing to Blockchain Head" lol.

Anyway, the scam is this.

They ask you to confirm the transaction by sending a small transaction fee.
305  Other / Meta / Re: Feature Suggestion - Relax newbie's PM restrictions. on: December 18, 2019, 01:23:49 PM
The solution will work-out for cases when you are actually expecting a message from a newbie that you want to get in contact with. It could be used to spam after your first response. Imagine a newbie account messaging something like "Hey Joel, are you online I need some help or need your service", such messages will want you to reply and after that, the newbie account can spam you with a number of messages which might not be relevant to you. This behaviour could also be easily replicated by any bots.
306  Other / Meta / Feature Request: [Site Status Page] on: December 18, 2019, 01:19:07 PM
Sometimes bitcointalk.org takes too much time to load and conditionally times out. After checking the internet connection and other local issues, I assume it could be a DDoS or other server issue given the previous cases. It will be good to have like a status page like https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/ which shows if the site is working and it could be connection problems on the user end. The current solution is someone opening a thread in Meta to inform others. A status page could be really handy.
307  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any legit websites to earn bitcoin fast without a withdrawal fee? on: December 17, 2019, 11:56:17 PM
tbh I'm not sure why I'm expecting a legit website that can magic bitcoin from thin air this is probably a stupid question. If anyone has any recommendations let me know thanks
You already have the answer to your question. There are a number of freelancing sites that pay in Crypto should you wish to offer any skills. Apart from that, I don't think you could do much for your rank on the forum to earn fast bitcoins. Just buy them from an exchange maybe?
308  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ponzi.wtf, a self admitted ponzi scheme. on: December 17, 2019, 11:51:00 PM
This is actually good that they're being honest about the operations unlike tokens claiming to be all legit by showing shitty whitepapers and are covered with underlying ponzis.

scammers are now getting bold! shoving their scheme right in front of your face. at least you know what youre getting into if in case you still think of joining the pack!
Imagine how stupid one has to be to still fall for it? Scams are by no means one-way traffic. There has to be an uninformed victim associated with it.
309  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you play on a new dice? What features would it need for you to switch? on: December 17, 2019, 10:29:57 PM
What features would you like to see that have not been done already?
- VR Dice. So I can actually enjoy the damn gaming experience with 3D sound effects.
 - Command-Line Access - Sometimes I just want to spend days only on my multiple terminal windows, would be nice to have a dice SDK that I can use to place betts from a CLI.
 - It should come with an editor to write my auto-betting scripts with a nice UI to run my tests.
 - If I'm not anonymous enough while signing up, it should cancel my registration.
310  Other / Meta / Re: To the attention of the Mods and Admins, account farms abusing bounty. on: December 17, 2019, 10:15:31 PM
Just creating all the accounts should rack up evil fees.. I wonder how this bot is able to create all these accounts, as he must be jumping to fresh and clean IPs, paying the evil fees, or something..
I don't think they will be paying any evil fees. Jumping to clean IP's is relatively simple and so is bypassing the captcha.

Email verification when creating new accounts would go a long way to preventing so many bot accounts... just saying
Could slow the process a bit but definitely wouldn't stop it. Like I said above it is relatively easy to spin up a fake email verification service using any of the SMTP server providers.
311  Other / Meta / Re: Reducing (removing) airdropped merits for those who didn't earn 1 single merit on: December 17, 2019, 10:11:05 PM
Just curious about the numbers you mentioned there - How many of those 800 legendaries and 3500 Heros are actually active on the forum? If you find that out, the numbers will drop down drastically.

If the main goal is to stop signature campaign spammer, then i have another idea such as :
1. Signature limitation based on your merit amount, not your rank
2. Signature only enabled for those who earned x amount of merit within y last month
I doubt signature campaign spam is that big of a problem these days. Very less bitcoin signature campaigns and strict moderation including merits have cut it down. Extreme amounts of spam come from the altcoin bounty campaigns including massive account farming. Some merit law should definitely be implemented in those sections.
312  Other / Meta / Re: [BAN APPEAL] Recently Recovered Hacked Account Re-Banned because of Hackers Post on: December 17, 2019, 10:04:43 PM
I'm lost at sea here, frankly I'd rather have to pay $10 bucks a year and have a dedicated customer service that I could reach to when stuff like that happens.
$10 that's very cheap for requesting dedicated customer service. Where do you think the mods live?

I really like that idea though. I wouldn't mind paying a good amount of money for a dedicated service that helps me recovering account if it's hacked, or gives me instant support on my queries related to my deleted posts, unhandled reports and such. It will be a very good way to incentivize the forum.
313  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Telegram Bitcoin Escrow Bot on: December 17, 2019, 09:55:19 PM
P.S. Since this was on Project Development, do you just share your concern or you are considering building a specific bot program or service for this?

I'm looking to build the product and trying to identify a product market fit.
You definitely have a very good idea and might have a demand for it as well but, it is not going to satisfy all the cases. An escrow is not just about the transactions but the authenticity of the transactions. Your bot may escrow a deal of PayPal to BTC and execute it securely but wouldn't guarantee that the other party will not reverse the payments. Same applies for a deal involving a project, your bot will not be able to verify if the developer delivered all that was asked for.
314  Economy / Services / Re: CONTEST: design loyce.club home page on: December 17, 2019, 04:43:29 PM
Any other specific requirements? Like color preferences, theme or you want something that just looks good and serves the purpose of the site? I haven't done HTML/CSS in a while but wouldn't mind spending a couple of hours over the weekend. - I'm in Cheesy
315  Economy / Reputation / Re: P2PB2B SCAMMERS - resolving "scam alerts" and misunderstandings on: December 16, 2019, 11:48:35 PM
CMC will report whatever figures these scam exchanges give them & have no shame - it is literally a platform for promoting scams if the bribe is right.
Couldn't have said better! I see CMC as the root cause of all these scummy exchanges and throwaway coins. They will literally put a potato on the market if the price is right. @JollyGood - Good stuff dude. Always been a fan of your investigations.
316  Other / Meta / Re: To the attention of the Mods and Admins, account farms abusing bounty. on: December 16, 2019, 11:33:23 PM
Good point, but as a BM of this campaign, the signup sheet is what i have to show to the ILcoin team, not the forum thread. From what i can see, these bots didn't sign up in the forms, so i don't know what the purpose of these posts are, as thread bumping has been a thing of the past for few months now
You mean the team doesn't care about their reputation on the forum? Have you asked the team if they have hired any thread bumping services? I'm glad you responded to the thread here but as their BM, you should educate them about the rules on the forum as well.

And if mods need permission to check my ip (which i highly doubt they do), it's given
Not mods *Admins have access to your IP addresses without your permission anyway.
317  Economy / Reputation / Re: 0.212 bitcoin Youtube/FanArt contest 🔥 Bitsler.com Birthday! on: December 16, 2019, 11:26:05 PM
I don't think any of this is relevant to this accusation.
True. It's just frustrating to see people posting accusations from throwaway accounts. If they're certain their accusation is valid, why they need to hide behind new accounts? That's the reason I requested their participation video.

I'm with OP on this one. A contest is meant to get good publicity, and especially if it's held by a reputable site, I would expect them to follow their own rules to the letter (or at least as much as possible).
Does that mean they should award prizes to a video that is terrible in quality but had followed all the rules or a video that is of extremely high quality but has missed out on couple of points? Doesn't the final decision remain to the contest creators despite of the rules stated?
318  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for web developer(s) for a few ecommerce websites of mine on: December 16, 2019, 09:35:18 AM
Hi there, would there be a lot of customization over top of Spotify? Regardless, inbox me your telegram handle here and we should talk. Smiley
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What matters most to online casinos? on: December 09, 2019, 11:59:02 PM
I've been running a topic for the last few days, what attracts most people to online casino and what keeps them?
In my opinion, the most important indicator is the financial situation, as much as you got lost.
If it's not a tense background, it's very important to me that the background is calm and relaxes me.
Your opinion.
Those things least matter according to the logical survey I conduced inside of my head. A casino's reputation, customer service, speed, chat, matters more than any of the factors you mentioned in your thread. You can relax in a calm background while a scam casino fucks you over.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the main purpose in gambling, always to make more money? on: December 09, 2019, 11:56:00 PM
Does gambling have a main purpose, to start with?

Do you believe we are here for a reason?

If you had no time to waste in your life, would you still gamble anyway?

some interesting questions
will love to read your answers.(and more questions)
- Gambling itself is a purpose to something bigger. No one just gambles for nothing. Even playing friendly poker during family gatherings has a purpose lol

- You went from Gambling to Philosophy real quick. Not the type of question I'd answer in this section.

- Who is gambling is wasting time? People have legit become millionaires with gambling. You sir, need help. I can't afford to lose another brain cell on this thread.
