342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk calls cryptocurrency 'brilliant' while predicting end of paper money.. on: March 18, 2019, 02:48:45 PM
This is a huge compliment, coming from the co-founder of PayPal. Elon Musk is not unfamiliar with alternative payment systems and the Banking industry < he also founded X.com, an online bank >, so his opinion comes with a lot of weight and experience.  Wink

Musk has a good eye for emerging technologies and also technologies that might have potential for disruption of traditional systems and technology. <After all, he took on Oil companies with his electric cars and governments (NASA) with space exploration.>  Cool

Not only that, He plans to dominate the internet itself. Heard about the Project Starlink? It will be going up in the next 3 years and will provide high-speed internet access to the masses within a decade. Lots of exciting stuff is coming up. Recently Musk got the clearance to launch some 6000 satellites to launch within the period of next 3 years, expect some live streams from SpaceX Cheesy

So basically Damned if they do, Damned if they not.

How are they leechers? They are trying to gain more exposure by accepting a hot new internet currency thingy.

How is it exposure if they are just using a plugin to do all the work for them? They are still getting that cash at the end of the day without interacting with the "hot new internet currency". Obviously, things like BTCPayServer are the real deal, no instant conversion to fiat and actually forces them to interact with the "internet currency".

Quote
because it's too volatile, and they can't use it to restock because that still requires fiat money.

Agreed! they do but they are here to make a quick profit remember. Instant dumping shouldn't be a thing. Its a backstab to the people who are actually using the "hot new internet currency". User X holds BTC for a year, Makes a purchase with his new gained profit. The merchant dumps the BTC instantly causing the market to go down. Backstabbing the user who hodled for a year. Does that make sense?

Quote
5% is huge, especially when it comes to things like domains, giftcards, electronics, foods, etc.

I dunno, if you have worked on a dropshipping gig or not but the profit margin is almost about 100% on each sale. 5% isn't huge in any way.

Quote
Businesses need constant cash flow, they aren't here to speculate.

Agreed but remember we are here to make everyone accept BTCs eventually. So maybe these merchants can start convinces their suppliers to accept the hot new internet currency which they are accepting no?  Roll Eyes

@JSRAW who is talking about soldiers? Lol. Tripping already? I was just talking about the trolling(Banter) which happen between the Pakis and you guys. Retaliation was more of a punch line for the crashed mig 21 Tongue

The terrorist attack on the Indian army was condemned by everyone. No one celebrated. I wouldn't be surprised if you got that from your media tho Tongue Indian media is making rounds in the international arena. Also, did you assume I was from your neighboring country? Cheesy

Quote
Its double edge sword for those who cry out loud "We are the biggest victim of terrorism"

The stats speak for themselves I won't argue with you on this. Let get back to cricket. you took things out of context.
346  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-13] Accepting bitcoin without a payment gateway on: March 14, 2019, 11:29:17 AM
Merchants who want to instantly convert BTC to fiat are leechers and they shouldn't be catered. I like how the article says "No! Please Skip this Step !" but then follows up that to remain safe from fluctuations one should convert BTC to Fiat. Unless it is a 100% BTC only business I don't see where the risk is? How much % of these sales come from BTC? I doubt its a larger figure than 5%. I mean if you are that desperate for that 5% I would say it's about time you re-evaluate your business. One could argue a corporation like Microsoft might take that 5% seriously and it could affect their profit margins but these hundreds of merchants aren't Microsoft they are small businesses and holding BTC would benefit them in the bigger picture.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 14, 2019, 11:07:22 AM
@Raja_MBZ You may have tripped a snowflake there. @JSRAW all the trolling is just retaliation, stop visiting EspnCricInfo Wink But I have to say that Cap change did wonders for the Aussies Cheesy

As for the upcoming series between Pakistan and Australia, I expect Australia to win the series quite comfortably. Pakistan still is lacking those 300+ targets and I didn't see a player except Babar Azam in the PSL who could bat out the middle innings with a 100+ strike rate.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miner One BTC Mining ICO CEO Pranas Slusnys arrested for 6+ million dollar fraud on: March 12, 2019, 12:46:52 PM
@hacker1001101001 Exactly! People see some flashy graphics and some SSL certificates and think that the project is *legit*. The old golden rule still applies today, All That Glitters is Not Gold. What I find interesting here is how did somebody not expose the company from inside, were they all in the scam? If they were why those guys haven't been arrested? The minerone website is still up. The police need to shut it down asap.
349  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-10]Android Devices Now Support Full Bitcoin Node Running on: March 12, 2019, 10:46:05 AM
Crypto journalism at its best. Sensational headlines as usual. What is the real world use of something like this? All I can think of is power usage but then again something on a raspberry pi shouldn't consume more than a couple of watts. I can't just imagine the purpose behind an app like this, to whom is this targetted? The average joe doesn't have a 512 gigs device nor do low-end smartphones support 1tb sd cards. This is a useless app period, I don't know why it is making headlines.

@BitHodler Exactly in the bigger picture Bitcoin is winning. With Bitcoin's reward having next year, Things are really setting up for a big bull market.

@Pali So you don't have a bankroll for your "gambling game"? why do you want to gain the trust of your investors from DT testimonials? Don't your investors personally know you /trust you?
352  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-3-8]Jack Dorsey: Twitter CEO Buys $10,000 in Bitcoin Weekly on: March 11, 2019, 12:11:50 PM
@rdbase whether he is virtue signaling or not. It does help bitcoin's price, it doesn't changes the fact that those 10K worth of BTC will be off the market, this may be considered a minuscule amount to affect the Bitcoin's price in the current market but it does in the bigger picture iyam. We are in a bear market and we need news like these to make headlines to make something happen in this rigid market.
