3501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Services of betting on your behalf on: March 09, 2021, 02:10:20 PM
Hi everyone, I read some rumours of companies or groups offering services of betting on your behalf on matches in which the betting house got, for whatever reason, their odds wrong. A friend told me that he was successful in doubling his money, although the houses obviously close any account that looks suspicious. Do you guys know any of these services?

As what most have mentioned, your friend might be engaged into a betting broker in which he hired someone to bet the odds for him. Of course, with hiring comes with fees. The betting broker may convince you with the odds he presents but do remember that the overall industry of gambling revolves in luck as there is always the possibility of losing money on the other end.

It is also noteworthy to mention that the phrase 'doubling his money' may be a dangerous precedent. This might entice you into engaging into the services as well with this assurance in mind. I highly suggest that instead of engaging into a betting broker, just bet with yourself. Anyways, good luck!
3502  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Polkasocial-AI generated founder photo+fake ratings on Google Play on: March 09, 2021, 08:57:51 AM
Good catch, Rikaflip!

To be honest, I am having trouble sometimes in determining whether the picture either computer-generated or not. But when you observe their facial features, usually, those computer-generated images have blurred backgrounds and some of their features (i.e. eyes, nose, teeth, ears, and hair) are not proportional to each other. In this case, you can clearly see the disparity on the eyes, eyebrows, and nose.

I also agree that people should exercise extreme caution in dealing with this project. There is a high chance that the project may be a scam in the near future.

3504  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Go $100K Within End Of This Year(2021)? on: March 08, 2021, 05:38:17 PM
It is relatively difficult to tell given that the value of bitcoin varies from several factors including both external and internal influences.

As an example, Elon Musk tweeted about something in bitcoin and its price decreased. In addition, Elon Musk also tweeted something about DogeCoin and its price significantly increased. Lastly, there are also influences coming from the government that may affect its price, so it is relatively difficult to say accurately about the ending price of bitcoin by the end of this year.

My advise- HODL and keep them for the next 5 years!
3505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best gambling site for esport? on: March 08, 2021, 03:59:27 PM
Hello, which crypto betting site is the best for betting esport?
I have played esport on ggbet (limited now), vulkan (the same) and 1xbit (scammed me).
I'm looking for website with such markets like 1xbet/bit has but with crypto.
I play leagues like ESEA Advanced, mostly lower tier tournaments.

Sportsbet and Nitrogensports are one of the few well-known gambling websites that accept cryptocurrencies as payment. In addition, the former is also considered one of the biggest gambling website for e-sports in general also.

While some esports gambling website do not accept crypto, if you are a CSGO fan, I highly suggest using bitskins as they also cater bitcoins for payment. Dota/csgolounge.com websites have live games that you can also watch and you may gamble there as well if you have existing skins!
3506  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bilyonaryo dahil kay BTC on: March 07, 2021, 07:07:31 PM

I learned it the hard way na ang pag-HODL talaga ay makakatulong lalo na for long-term. Kung hindi ko sana nagastos yung mga campaign signature earnings ko simula noon nag start ako dito sa forum, may 1 million php sana ako na investment for stocks.
3507  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: March 07, 2021, 06:34:33 PM
In world, there is hierarchy, that is why some people are rich, some are average, some are not that rich but still having good living some are poor, while the poor still look at some and still appreciate life because they are poorer. I am beginning to thinking laziness can be the result of some people not having good living, while some is purely due to ignorant an lack of knowledge and exposure, some even only lack information.

I am thinking with how people is, is there a way possible for everyone to live without being poor, though their can be hierarchy but in a way no one is poor? But I am thinking it is not possible. If anything happens today that the poor are richer and got richer than the rich people, the rich people will become poor too because life is not just balance.

Economically, can there be a way people can live and no one will be poor?

I do not think so as it also depends on your definition of being 'poor.'

Technically speaking, assuming that everyone in the world has money, there will always be poverty. Even if everyone has like a million dollars on their account right now, the hierarchy will always exist as the rich will become extremely rich and the person who has the lowest amount of cash will become 'poor' even if he has a million dollars in his bank account.

3508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice games on: March 07, 2021, 04:31:16 PM
So it's not even 30 bets of losing streak. Only a fool will bet more than 1BTC to receive a reward of 1 Satoshi in profit.
This is where martingale strategy sucks but yeah there are other ways to use martingale as well.
Such as changing the seeds or continuing the other day or may be changing the strategy in some other way.

Ehmmmmm....

The only way to use martingale strategy, is the abstract condition of "unlimited resources". Meaning you're already have unlimited amount of btc, that even if you'll lose 1000 in a row you still have btc to bet (and one important moment - you still need to have X * 2^1000 amount of btc to potentially cover all your previous loses, where X is initial amount of btc) and win.

If you have living in real world, you have a limited resources to gamble. So in any way you will lose your money thanks to such "strategy"

I would agree.

The martingale strategy would be possible assuming that the person has unlimited resources in order to cover for the next bet. Again, we are talking here about the probability and the luck of losing- that is why the possibility of experiencing a losing streak may sound impossible but it is possible.

I personally tried this technique but I failed to recuperate after a 5-losing streak last year when I visited a physical casino. The amount exponentially increases as you lose but you tend to recover back your losings after one win.
3509  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: March 06, 2021, 10:43:33 PM
How would you define what is to be "rich"? Is it about having enough for living or is there something else that you would be looking to accomplish to be rich?
Is it 1 million USD? Is it 1000 bitcoin? what are your thoughts?

The term "rich" is a subjective word as it depends upon the individual's perception of being rich.

In a third-world country, "rich" may be perceived as someone who earns at least above the minimum wage, who has their own house and land, and has resources which enables them to live a comfortable life; while "rich" in a first-world country may mean to be owning luxury vehicles, mega mansions, yachts, etc.

Again, the question really depends upon the individual. Personally, I think being "rich" means having a roof behind your head where you do not have to worry about anything financially. You can visit a mall and not worry about buying anything as you have such means.

In the crypto-sphere, however, I see "rich" as to someone who at least owns more than 10 BTCs in their wallets given the value of them in the market.
3510  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why P2P exchange is good and better on: March 06, 2021, 10:34:58 PM
You can still fall in trouble with p2p exchanges though. The money you could be receiving from your trading partner could have been laundered or stolen. If the bank has been following the transaction trail, you can easily become a suspect of money laundering.
Much as the platforms my protect you from the banks knowing what you exchanged the money for, they can still track the fiat money trail from account to account.

Oh, this is the first time I have encountered this situation. I never thought that once the transaction has been sent, the money that ones receive will be guaranteed no matter what.

Nevertheless, a P2P exchange is definitely better as this eliminates the need for a third-party exchange in holding your money due to a fiduciary relationship created between you and the bank. As long as they have your money, there is always that lingering fear of "what if they run away, etc."

3511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua on: March 06, 2021, 12:54:25 PM
Anyone can go into depression at any given moment. The pressure of an athlete or any celebrity is high as every move is scrutinized and talked about and when you are in the spotlight all the time you might start feeling the pressure and to overcome that they will start using drugs to ease up their nerves and then it will end up as an addiction which will destroy them. Tyson Fury came out and told his issues so that if anyone is going through the same issues his experience could help them recover from these depressions.

I remember I watched a video in YouTube about Tyson Fury and his story about depression. He gained significant amount of weight and he fell into depression after falling positive in cocaine.

Quoting Tyson Fury's own words back in 2016:
Quote
I just don't want to live anymore, if you know what I’m saying. I've had total enough of it. Never mind cocaine. I just didn't care. I don't want to live anymore. So cocaine is a little minor thing compared to not wanting to live anymore. I am seeing help, but they can't do nothing for me. What I've got is incurable. I don't want to live. All the money in the world, fame and glory, means nothing if you're not happy.

What people mostly take for granted is that depression is not a choice. It is a sickness that people should be medically and psychologically treated. Depression is not also equated for being sad, it is just you feel like you are alone and worthless in the world. I really commend Tyson for fighting what he went through. I hope that people who has depression seek medical treatment and enjoy your family life!
3512  Other / Meta / Re: Should the Scam Accusations & Reputation sections be more restricted/moderated? on: March 05, 2021, 10:43:47 PM
I actually urge members to post in the scam accusation board websites that may be ponzi-schemes even if they are not listed on the forum. There is high-traffic in this forum from people who are non-members and stumbling upon a post may warn them before they invest.

However, I do actually agree that there are some newbies that do not follow the prescribe format of reporting. In addition, there are also some posts which contain an accusation but without substantiating it with proof. I guess those are the kinds of posts that should be moderated.
3513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed as Money? on: March 05, 2021, 10:28:01 PM
Avoid spending your bitcoins into small transactions. Convert them to cash only if you have a hefty amount in order to save big amounts of btc due to the high transaction fees, which also significantly increased due to the value of bitcoin in the market.

With regard with the contention of "failed money", I doubt it. The blockchain technology is bigger than the transaction fees- it actually removes a third-party consensus with your transactions. The fact that the price of bitcoin steadily increases in the market in the recent years is a good indication that it may be the future of money and of transactions.
3514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 05, 2021, 10:01:53 PM
I don't gamble much anymore... It was once more!
But most of the time you lose anyway! Cheesy
In many cases you get your loss back after some time...

Believe me, you wouldn't be saying that if you actually won your gambling game!

The problem with gambling is with the uncertainty it brings with it- the adrenaline of not knowing the results and the hype afterward. It is highly addictive which can be very burdensome and expensive especially if you fail to match it with discipline and self-control.

Spending your signature campaigns in gambling may also be considered expensive especially on the growing price of bitcoin in the market. I personally recommend to HODL them while fees are high.
3515  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Title: Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas at ang Cryptocurrency on: March 04, 2021, 09:37:45 PM
They support cryptocurrency since then, and since marame na ang nagtitiwa sa Bitcoin mas lalo pa nila pinagbubuti ang pagreregulate dito. We’re so lucky kase kahit na maliit na bansa lang tayo ay supportado naman tayo ng gobyerno in terms of using Bitcoin, kaya dapat lang naten na pagingatan ito at sana yung mga exchanges na registered sa BSP ay gawing maayos ang kanilang serbisyo.

This is true.

Kaya I always advise my family to HODL at hintayin lang ang presyo nito tumaas.
3516  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The minimum liability for the forum. on: March 04, 2021, 08:56:45 PM
I mean, I understand that people are trying their best to meet their weekly post quota but they should focus more on contributing/posting on topics that make sense. Replying in a spam post that contains referral links (which is prohibited) should be reported immediately. It is kinda sad to see that most high ranking members take this for granted just for the sake of completing their quota.

Thank you, coolcrypto for raising such concern. I also do think that the campaign managers should not tolerate this kind of behavior.
3517  Other / Off-topic / Re: Corruption and Sports on: March 04, 2021, 08:08:45 PM
In my country every government during the election campaign have the statement we'll abolish corruption on the sports in the manifesto. Is this is common or I'm seeing this on my country. In each and every game, during the selection process bribe is being given. This has made several able sportsmen discontinue their passion on sports and do some routine job for their living.

Same as this is the gambling, more key players are involved with match fixing even after getting huge sum of money after every match winning/losing. Why certain sportsmen have such greed towards money when people are starving to have a single meal on a day.

This reminded me of an incident which happened several years ago in e-sports where in CSGO, the teams involved resulted into a match fixing.

Thousands of players loss their bets on the stronger team as most players expected them to win. When the underdog won the match, the game was investigated due to a poor concealment done by the stronger team. It was then decided that the game involved match fixing and the players involved were ban in competitive gaming in the CSGO scene.

Match fixing can be brutal to the bettors. Your only remedy against such is when the officials themselves discover the fixing but it can be definitely difficult to prove.

Hi, upon checking your downloadable wallets from the website, I noticed that your windows wallet contained a virus on its contents. However, this also might be a false-positive detected by virustotal. Whichever the case may be, I highly invite your attention to update your wallets in order to avoid any confusion and conflict in the future. Kindly check the reference below, thanks.

3519  Economy / Economics / Re: 'Cryptocurrency is not legitimate money,' says Nigeria's central bank governor on: March 03, 2021, 06:57:02 PM
As usual, too many people are just missing the point out there. It is only for the community to decide if Bitcoin is legitimate.

I highly agree.

Banking institutions will always defend their system as being a third-party consensus in which people would store cash due to a fiduciary relationship being formed. Cryptocurrencies eliminate for the need of such third-party and the banking institutions see this as a threat to the business.

While we are still at it, I speculate that cryptocurrencies would be one of the main currencies used in the future. The blockchain technology, also, will remain as the future generation of transactions in which the people are the ones who decided which are legitimate or not.
3520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The History Of Crypto Gambling on: March 03, 2021, 04:04:59 PM
This is very interesting to see about the history of crypto gambling and on how it started.

The moment that bitcoin was already starting, some businessmen ventured into creating gambling websites because they foreshadowed its popularity beforehand. It is, however, very unfortunate that lots of fraud involving loss of BTC happened during the timeline. This is kind to be expected due to the nature of existing on the realm of the internet, where hackings are very prominent.

Personally, I get excited about playing different games with what little I have. It's such an exciting time for cryptocurrency, and I hope that everyone will continue to enjoy gambling with it as I do. It's really awesome to see where it's all come from and where it's going.

I guess your excitement stems from your gambling habits, I suppose? Though gambling in general makes you feel the adrenaline of either winning/losing. Personally, I would avoid gambling my btcs for the moment especially that the prices are high on the market currently.
