361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay with Bitcoin on: August 29, 2021, 11:04:20 PM
I am so glad someone is opting for the Lightning Network and not the original Bitcoin (BTC) payment option. I personally feel people are put off from the concept of paying with Bitcoin, when they have to wait for transactions on the Blockchain to confirm. (Some of these transactions during congested periods, can take a few hours)  Roll Eyes
Let the transaction take hours to confirm if there is network congestion, why not take your national identity card copy
for the transaction by the customer and that will be helpful if he makes a double spend at a later time. For the past month the transaction fees are really low and the confirmation time is low as well.

The Lightning Network is fast and perfect for use, when you want to use Bitcoin as a payment option. OP, thank you for doing this.... I hope you are going to implement some kind of incentive to encourage people to use this. (Example : 10% discount for people paying with the Lightning Network)  Wink
I am yet not sure whether the current development in lightning network is more than enough to consider them as a solution. If anyone wants to attract audience, giving discount is more than enough.

^^^ One loss and now everyone wants a change in the team Cheesy . England lost the second Test and there was a huge cry about changing the team and they changed the openers and it showed in their performance and then Root is in good form and that is the strength of England. When it comes to India the bowlers were its strength as the batsman was struggling for a long time and one time they were not able to pick wickets and the team lost and that is mainly because of the utter batting failure. If they need to change the team, they need to change the batsman than the bowlers.

that's really huge amount of money surpassing most of professional boxing bouts. no wonder, these promoters keep on arranging these exhibition fights. and i guess, this will continue for now. even oscar de la hoya joined this hype, he will be fighting with vitor belfort this coming sept 12. seems that we will be seeing retired boxers trying their luck inside the ring again, but am certain, it is more on the paycheck they can get after.
There are more fans willing to purchase these PPV and for most of the old fighters they never saw these huge pay days as the promoters were handling all the money and the fighters never used to get involved in their financials unless they understand they do not have much bank balance at the end of their careers but now the fighters are smart and they know how to handle money even though they have managers negotiating the deals and if they think they can make money they will grab that opportunity and it is a win situation for them financially and for the fans a fight they might not see again.

Imagine that if Bitcoin forum members (consensus) can form a community organization, will they be able to run for the president of the United States? If you want to be more exaggerated, a virtual sovereign state appears on the Internet. Just like in online games, you can even find a girlfriend, which feels amazing.
Is there any idea about the demographic of this forum, no idea about how many users are active in this forum from the United States, even if you want someone from the cryptocurrency space to run for the president, how many votes do you think he will be able to get  Grin. There are more people that comes to vote during an election than the entire cryptocurrency universe. In the future we might see but not anytime soon.

Silva is supposed to fight Logan Paul but good thing it didn't happen. Can't believe Silva is interested to go down his level to fight Paul.
If Anderson Silva is getting the opportunity to make money at this age, why could not he be interested in fighting Jake Paul who could help him make more money than fighting anyone else and hence you cannot blame him as he could easily make millions of dollars fighting Jake Paul.
There is no pressure for Anderson Silva to sell out the card because he is not the main event and i wonder how Tito Ortiz came to the picture.

Very true. The running technique is really frowned upon by boxing fans. Now, Jake Paul is getting more popularity than real boxers here.  Grin
Can you explain what you mean by running technique, i did not understand that. Jake Paul is popular than any other fighters and it is a fact and whenever he fights they are able to promote them really well unlike other fighters who always cry about low pay but they cannot attract a crowd.

And to think that he is earning more than them. Can boxing really continue to support these exhibition fights? Because the younger generation of boxers seem to be left behind if this will continue to attract interest from the audience.
The Paul brothers are more money than professional boxers and it is simply because they can sell the tickets than real boxers. In hindsight the boxing community should be happy as more fighters are doing exhibition bouts and making money and it will attract crowd and new audience for boxing.

When India started the second innings it was trail by 354 runs which is a big score and I came across news sources stating India is on hard fight to avoid innings loss to England. End of the session has showed the potential of India's top order making a big innings and now trail by 139 runs. This itself a big thing, and this time I believe the top order will make miracle same as the one did by the bottom order in the previous match.
India will loose by an innings, scoring 78 runs in the first innings and then failing to restrict England means we need to see some sort of miracle if England comes out to bat for their second innings which is highly unlikely. Even if they bat throughout the day tomorrow how many runs they are going to get and their game plan is to extend the England win as long as possible to save face.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest more than you can afford to lose? on: August 27, 2021, 09:06:44 PM
What is there to agree with this, you can only invest what you can afford and there are some who takes the extreme step to invest everything in Bitcoin and when you had this idea a few years back then you would have made a fortune. I have not heard about anyone taking risk to invest in any alts but only in Bitcoin you can afford to take some risk and if you invested when the market was down, then you could reap your benefit.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Big sad on: August 27, 2021, 08:03:24 PM
I havnt been paying attention to the price of my crypto due to school, and other stuff going on. A month ago I turned 2/3 of my cardano into bitcoin. I looked today to check my gains/losses. I would have doubled my investment if I kept my cardano. I am not gonna let it get to me, but it could have been pretty cool if I held it. hats off to the people that have the patience to hold coins going nowhere for a while.
You are still in school and you are talking about investment, that is a big deal. It is good to see that people so young are here and investing in the market but make sure you focus on your education when it matters. I am holding cardano and i invested when i heard about their plans about the upgrade and it looks like you are not following their development.

Here we go, Zimbabwe beat Ireland!

You should not be concerned if you watch the match until the end. Richard Ngarava's heroics helped Zimbabwe beat Ireland in a thrilling match. Zimbabweans bowlers were effective despite the low scoring match. A phenomenal performance, but hard luck to Ireland.
I missed the match but it looks like it was a pathetic end for Ireland as they lost by just 3 runs. I have to watch the highlights of the match and it sure was an entertaining end and i would have placed a bet on Ireland to win the match if i was watching the match live and hence i am glad i missed the match  Grin. It is hard to predict these matches and i wonder what the odds were before the match and during the closing stages of the match.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador rolls out 200 Bitcoin ATMs in a bid to speed-up nationwide adoption on: August 26, 2021, 11:04:05 PM
Great news  Smiley Just a small concern with the the ‘State backed crypto wallet’ - but I suppose they have to do this to increase mass adoption.
Compromise on privacy for mass adoption it not exactly what we really want. But that is the state of the situation here as some are celebrating these sort of adoption but i want everyone to enjoy the privacy  Bitcoin offers and i doubt El Salvador is running a master program along with other countries to learn how to control people in this market .
372  Economy / Speculation / Re: No BTC Holding is risky on: August 26, 2021, 09:48:57 PM
You should never sell bitcoin and always think to accumulate them. The future is of bitcoins and i believe that those who do not have bitcoin will be left behind.
You can trade or sell your altcoins but always keep on holding bitcoins.
What is your target price for Bitcoin, i bet you wont be holding the coins for decades, but there should be a target for you and i would like to hear that valuation.Bitcoin is all about making transaction and that is what it is intended by Satoshi and not to hoard them, if so it will defeat the purpose of the creation.

When we talk about the risk factor, it all depends upon the entry, you cannot enter when the coin is rallying and expect to make a huge profit in a short period of time.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 61 year old plays the same numbers since 1991 and wins 18 millions on: August 25, 2021, 11:59:12 PM
For 18 million dollars? Yeah, I’d have the patience  Cheesy
Besides, it is easier when you realize that by playing the same number over and over you somewhat increase your chances of winning, as there’s a probability that a certain number will hit someday, but if you do different numbers, you risk missing that event. By doing the same all the time, on the other hand, you’ll never miss it. So if you follow this rule, breaking it and choosing another number would simply be irrational.
I would have given him the consolation prize for using the same number for the past 30 years and make him happy  Cheesy. Not sure whether anyone could pick the same number for 30 years and finally winning a jackpot is simply awesome. Majority will not spend your time taking tickets let alone taking the same digit for your lifetime expecting them to win.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: August 25, 2021, 11:51:02 PM
I don't think that past injury will bother at all, on his fight against Chavez Jr he proves himself to be a high-level competitor by the way he boxes Chavez JR. he is so good that he should have done boxing halfway through his career as a fighter, Silva has a lot to offer in the boxing world,  I don't know about Ortiz he is good in MMA but I don't know about his boxing skill.
The level of injury Anderson Silva sustained when checking a kick was nasty but in the boxing world you just use your hands and Anderson Silva should have retired from MMA after that injury but he kept on going  and he is trying out boxing but Tito ortiz is not even a worthy opponent because he is not known for his striking but his wrestling and i am expecting early works and a win for Anderson Silva.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoins Be Cashed? on: August 24, 2021, 11:45:12 PM
Bitcoin is a digital currency that circulates freely, without any control or supervision from banks, governments, or anyone else. In contrast, bitcoin relies solely on cryptography and software between computers.

what if the government closes or does not allow the exchange of Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies with the official currency in each country?  Huh
As long as there are people willing to trade and there is internet, you can cashout your coins if you want. I am expecting a situation where all the countries are going against a big market like us, there might countries that are not smart enough to understand what they are dealing with and can come up with regulations to ban them but they are only a few and in the broader aspect there is always options even for users to trade that are living in a country that banned them.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: August 24, 2021, 12:02:46 AM
the corresponding amount of cryptos is then calculated and used as stake of the bet. For example you can bet 100$ but your balance in BTC will be used instead of any fiat currency.
Like they have in stake, where you can wage in multiple fiat currencies but the coins you deposit are cryptocurrencies and you can wage according to the user experience as some prefer to see the valuation in their local currency.

I am a small time gambler compared to some of the heavy users, but still for me the price of cryptocurrency has a major role in my gambling habits and my selection of the coin also depends upon the market valuation and the ease of moving around.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 23, 2021, 11:18:28 PM
The fake money streamers will not be able to directly "force" the new users to register under their referral code, Romania has banned Twitch due to the gambling section(AFAIK).
I am not a Twitch user, but i am trying to understand things here, what do you mean by fake money stream. From what i understand Twitch is a streaming platform for gaming fans to have an interaction and the other interaction i know is the Stake used to conduct giveaway in Twitch.

Spinning thousands on slots with fake money is the easiest part, I have never seen Roshtein has withdrawn a cent during the stream. The sponsored money can mislead the innocent new gamblers and they will keep chasing their loss until the bust. I support this decision of Twitch, even suggest age verification for the gambling/slots section for viewers.
I have no idea what you are talking about here, are you talking about specific streamers ?
If anyone is gambling and if they are well above 18 then you are not misleading, it is the individual conviction to risk money to win more. I understand that some are just dumb enough not to understand what they are doing and want to blame others for their faults. I do not like restrictions in any form in any platform unless and until there is a massive spam attack.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 23, 2021, 09:16:57 PM
To be honest, I don't understand why you guys bet on Pacquiao. The odds are not attractive.

If I'm not mistaken around @1.2, @1.3? Too low for putting up a risk.
Or maybe you choose the winning method or other betting options instead? What are the odds for these? No idea here.
Anyone who placed a bet on Manny Pacquiao thought it was an easier bet to win and everyone thought Yordenis Ugas was a much easier opponent than Spence Jr and i am sure many burned their balance placing a bet with low wages. I should have placed a parlay on the fight but then i was not confident about the conditioning of Manny as he was coming back after a long gap.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 23, 2021, 08:24:41 PM
What's happening to Pakistani Batting ? Someone tell them its not a T20 but a Test Match. They are scoring at the rate of 7 runs per over. Make 50-60 more runs and declare n go for a kill.

They mean business here. If rain does not interrupt, i can smell Pakistan Victory  Wink
Pakistan is looking for victory here, they are scoring the runs quickly so that they will get plenty of time to bowl West Indies out a second time and win the match. They should get the inspiration from India and learn how they won from an impossible situation to dominating the match in the final two sessions and if Pakistan can get the entire day tomorrow they could bowl out West Indies.
380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bullish At The Moment on: August 23, 2021, 05:29:13 PM
Well, as you can see, it was pretty obvious that we are in the bullish status even at $30k still consider as bullish level. maybe we have to think it now that we are not dropping anymore below $10k as we have before. It was time to forget those prices as if the current momentum keeps ongoing, there is only a slim chance to have in the bear market again. Or, we have to consider $30k, and below is the new bear price.
I hope we will not see the $10k valuation ever again even during the major correction. Thinking now there will be many that wished they could invest a ton when the price was well below $10k and the funny aspect is even if the price comes down to those valuations you will be afraid to take chances  Grin. This market is all about anyone willing to take chances and the fortune favors the brave Grin.
