1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 24, 2020, 05:32:30 PM
As per the statements made by the selectors in the past they simply don't consider IPL performances to consider while picking team India squad but they actually consider IPL performances as the only criteria to get selected. So they are basically contrary to their action so we can't expect them to do such things because BCCI is interested in money-making than winning international trophies in the recent years.
In the shorter format these kind of selection procedure will work and hence they are performing well but we are not seeing the same kind of performance in Test matches. The selection procedure for Test matches should be first class performance and the Indian middle order of Rahane and Pujara is holding the spot for a long time but the rest of the batsman keeps changing every series and until they sort that out they will always struggle while touring.

It's not like rivalry. Both Dhoni and Kohli had different preferences for the national team selection. Dhoni would prefer players such as Kedar Jadhav and Dinesh Karthik, who play for CSK or India Cements. On the other hand, Kohli is said to have a preference for RCB/Delhi players, such as Rishabh Pant and Yuzvendra Chahal. Also, both of them support opposing camps in the BCCI. Dhoni is considered as a N Srinivasan loyalist, while Kohli supports the other side.
Dinesh Karthik was in the team for a long time and he is in and out of the team because of Dhoni cementing his place and Rishabh Pant came into the team recently on back of some good innings in the junior tournaments. Yuzvendra Chahal also debuted in recent times as they replaced Ashwin and Jadeja combination with another left arm spinner.

I had a bet on Pakistan and they gave me a scare when they lost 4 quick wicket at the final phase, was worried about another choke up moment but Iftikhar Ahmed finished the job.
I always avoid betting in a match when Pakistan is involved as you never know when they will play as a top team and in the past whenever i placed a bet against them i lost my bet Grin.

This is true and one of the reasons for the poor performance of the sub-continental teams is the nepotism and bias in selection. Even Indian team is not free from this. Earlier, there were two camps within the national team - each led by Dhoni and Kohli respectively. Now the divisions are not that visible, but there are accusations that some of the players are being favored for selection.
Hearing for the first time that Dhoni and Kohli had a rivalry within the team.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 23, 2020, 11:27:34 PM
If Mayweather wanted a real fight, then he could have agreed to the proposal by Manny Pacquiao for a rematch. But he refused the proposal, and said that he is no longer interested in professional boxing. So for him, he is in this fight only for the money. I don't think that there is anything wrong here. He will get a few tens of millions of USD, for spending a few hours on the boxing ring. Not bad for a retired boxer who is almost 44 years old.
We the fans were not lucky enough to watch Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight in their prime and that is mainly because Mayweather was avoiding him for a long time and the fans were tired about the situation and when that fight happened Manny Pacquiao was injured before the fight and the commission did not allow to have painkiller shots before the fight and there is no way Mayweather wants that rematch.

Mayweather knows how to make millions without much sweat and he is doing his business Grin.
1325  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to trigger central bank collapse on: December 22, 2020, 11:59:36 PM
Pre-Bitcoin, individuals were all trapped in a system where the Federal Reserve and other central banks around the world could create money at will and force people to purchase assets and consumer items so they would avoid inflation.  When fiat is saved, the velocity of money slows and economic activity grinds lower - for this reason the planners wished to encourage spending, and not saving, through quantitative easing.
What is the big difference now, cryptocurrency market is yet to make any major changes as they are viewed as a speculative market and if you are talking about the price then i could agree with it but you are talking about getting trapped in a system  Grin.

If you like it or not you are living in a centralized system and the government will look after the monetary structure and everything revolves around it, if you are telling that all the shops in your locality started accepted bitcoin then you can get rid of your federal reserve currency.

Another factor is that bitcoin is not created to get rid of the central banks nor it is created to replace fiat currency, we are seeing similar topics for a very long time and till now there is no instance where in which we could very well tell that bitcoin will replace fiat simply because of the volatility and the transaction delays.

They have history of punching above their weight in the limited overs and like every other team they also enjoy stronghold in tests at home turf. Unfortunately media never gave kiwis players much footage, one example is Ross taylor. Taylor average above 45ish in test and ODI but we never hear much about him.
It is true that Ross Taylor always flies under the radar, just now i checked his profile and his ODI average is 48.44 which was surprising and i thought his biggest issue was his inconsistency and lack of performance in big matches.

Pakistan was lucky to win the toss and after loosing two matches and the series defending the team total and failed miserably and now they was able to somehow win the match chasing the score and when i was watching the match i thought Pakistan would loose the close match as they were loosing wickets but somehow chased down the target.

One bad session and the match turned upside down for India, i was disappointed with the Aussie first innings but then they surprised me with their bowling and the high profile batting line up was humiliated and their first game with the pink ball turned out to be a disaster.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 18, 2020, 09:35:19 AM
Pheww...

Edit
Marnus's ran out of his luck, Umesh finished the job for India. Aussie are now 6 down.
Phewwwwwww, Australia lost their 7th wicket, the worst performance by them in their home soil. They need to change how they play cricket, from aggressive world class players who dominated every team they are play a different brand of cricket which is not exciting and a run rate of just 2 and even though India is missing the catches and giving them opportunities Australia failed to make any impact.

Today there was confirmation from Tim Paine regarding Cameron Green. He said that Green has passed his fitness test and will be included in the playing XI against India for the pink ball test. He is just 21 years old, and I have a feeling that he has the capability to become a regular in the national squad.
Good to hear that Cameron Green is cleared to make his debut and i am expecting him to make an impact in the match with either the bat or the ball and he will be a regular in the squad because of his all rounding capability. I am expecting Australia to win the match and it depends whether the pitch will be flat as India have some good fast bowlers and any help from the pitch will be a nightmare for both the teams.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 15, 2020, 11:32:53 PM
If I am correct KSI and Logan Paul are both amateur boxer but their match was attracted a lot viewers as they were both youtubers and especially Logan Paul having a controversial past videos. Also how the fight started was one of the reasons it was hyped.
Logan Paul and KSI are amateur boxers but they know how to attract a crowd and make millions of dollars by putting a fight together and is what basically every sportsman wants and many fail to attract a crowd and even for Mayweather he was able to make millions of dollars after boxing for a decade and there are fighters that are making less throughout their whole career and if Logan Paul and other similar fighters could change the concept altogether then it is great for everyone.
Mayweather is spending money and whenever he feels he wants to make a few millions he knows to attract a crowd and picking Logan Paul is a smart move.

The latest news is that Cameron Green will make his test debut if he passes the fitness test. Regarding Shaw vs Gill, I don't have a preference. I am not impressed by both the players so far in this tour.
The injury Cameron Green sustained was scary on the spot and hopefully he will pass the concussion test and make his debut as he is a promising allrounder for Australia.

That said, I would pick Pant over Saha. The latter is 36 years old and I think picking him over a promising player such as Pant will affect the morale of the younger players. And as far as the bowling attack is concerned, would rather prefer 4 pacers. Indications are that the track at Adelaide will be more supportive towards the pace bowlers.
I would prefer Saha over Pant because of his wicket keeping skills and i have seen Pant dropping catches behind the stumps and it will only boost his morale to work on his skills.

So 1st day of 2nd warm up game between Ind vs Aus A was very eventful, 20 wickets fell on single day and only 302 runs on scoreboard. Guess what who is the top scorer? Jasprit Bumrah  Grin Grin he scored 55 runs (57 balls) not out. Its his maiden first class half century.

India : 194 all out
Aus A: 108 all out

Its Pink ball test match...
A great match. 4 Australian players have been dismissed for zero runs. And 2 Indian players were out for zero runs. Basically, no team player could play well. Overall, today was the day for the bowlers. Grin Grin
I hope they will play Test matches in the same wicket they played the warm up match because it is really boring to see a player score runs without any challenge and it will be interesting if a batsman could score runs in conditions like this.

I watched the highlights and they were playing with pink ball.
Are they playing the entire series in pink ball or just the day night match.
1334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 07, 2020, 11:59:14 PM
Lol, it's the money indeed and because of money, Floyd Mayweather is becoming more of a clown  Smiley.

I would not be surprised that he will be a part of another comic act after this one because it's the way of Pretty Boy to sustain his lavish lifestyle.
If Floyd Mayweather can make millions of dollars with these acts, why not. After all to be a sportsman there is a limited time period and if he can extend that and still earn hundreds of millions of dollars fighting nobody, then it is his marketing skills and we should appreciate his skills to sell the tickets so that he could still make millions .
1335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal blocked a member's account due to cryptocurrency trading on: November 30, 2020, 02:03:46 PM
A trader with the nickname Thecooldoc reported on Reddit that his account in the PayPal account was permanently blocked. "PayPal permanently banned my account due to CryptoCurrency buy/sells being treated as "item SALES":
I wonder what is the real purpose of paypal to allow their users to trade bitcoin and then ban users because they are trading with them. If they can introduce new investors it is well and good but if they are dealing with the investors like this, then there is no point in trading with them.

I think the reason for banning the account should be the source of the amount and we will only know about the broader picture when we hear from both teams.
1336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 30, 2020, 11:43:48 AM
Your point is correct. The Indian team can give the youngsters a chance. But I think they will be desperate to win the next match. It is a shame for the Indian team to be a whitewash and the Indian cricket fans are very fierce. They could be more aggressive if the India team whitewash.
Australia is playing with a mission, to wish wash India and there is nothing that can be done to avoid that, may be rain might help them as there was rain in New Zealand and the T20 match against West Indies was abandoned and it can happen it the third ODI and save the embarrassment for India Grin.
1337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 26, 2020, 05:35:35 AM
Right now the limitation of 4 overseas players is only benefiting these oldies and not any younger player. Also, there are plans to increase the number of teams from the current 8 to either 9 or 10, and that should give room for fringe players.
There are some young talents that were in display and if not for the IPL we would not hear from them and there was one player from MI who was consistent throughout the tournament and did not get a place in the Australian tour and there was legit heat from everyone for not including that player, if not for the IPL no one would know about him or his performance, it is helping the young players as well as the retired players  Cheesy.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Site Buys $100 Million of Bitcoin Every Month to Pay Players in BTC on: November 26, 2020, 01:05:01 AM
This means a lot for bitcoin as a transaction processor but not really much for BTC as an investment.

I suspect that a lot of these people who are looking to cash out to BTC are simply doing so for anonymity and privacy later. They could and probably are going to cash it out on the OTC/P2P markets as soon as they get the funds. Even the investors are probably only in the market for the short term to "gamble" on market movements.
Even if we assume that what you said is true there is a lot of coins that are purchased on a monthly basis and that is not a small volume, not sure whether the said site is having mandatory verification as most of the fiat based sites are really strict on that aspect.

So don't expect for the poker industry to be a huge long term source of demand for BTC. If people are not using cashouts for long term investment or actual adoption, it doesn't really matter.
Since the amount here is $100 million it matters, the volume is a huge factor and this is another form of adoption and you cannot expect everyone to invest in bitcoin and say HODL for the next decade:D.
1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP Could Hit $1 This Year on: November 24, 2020, 05:35:55 PM
Looking at the market in the past few weeks and looking at the market today we could very well tell that the price could rise over a dollar, like many i did not expected this rally from XRP but when that happens i am just amazed by the way in which the market is rallying. My thought process is that the price of bitcoin are ETH were rising and the only coin with a lower valuation in the top five list and may be it attracted some big investors to pump the coin Grin.
1340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin after making new ATH? on: November 24, 2020, 03:59:26 PM
Bitcoin is Just 500 Dollars away from creating a new All-Time-High 😍🚀🚀

What will happen after making new ATH? What do you think? Express your view.
There is nothing much to say, the price is rallying well before what i expected and i am not that happy because i was not able to execute my plans because of the circumstance i was under due to my health situation and before that the pandemic and scared me because i was not sure what will happen to my job and it was a shitty experience but in totality i am happy to see that big investment are pouring into bitcoin.
