401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: February 08, 2017, 08:58:40 AM
I have a suggestion for helping supernet to really get business adaption.
I am not much into details, so excuse if it is nonsense, but as is is possible now to have that basilisk connection to bitcoin.
Can you make a connection to the bitcoin network, that makes it possible to safely transfer BTCs as a token into another newly created BTC-transfer-chain?
Of course not directly but with some kind of burning on one side and creating on the other side.

The reason is, that BTC has the problem, that it can't scale at the moment. All those segwit-btc unlimited-fork things probably don't get enough support.
If you manage to create a fast channel, where you transfer the btc (and ensure that the amount stays the same), some payment companys may support the idea.

I think for example also on a XEM chain or something, where they tested already a high transaction rate of 100k/sec...
I could make a BTC assetchain, it would have 20x the current capacity due to faster blocks and 2MB blocksize.

The problem is there is no provision in bitcoin to unburn, so the bitcoin deposited would need to be held by trusted nodes

MGW is essentially what you talk about from 3 years ago.
If bitcoin would add an unburn code, then sure this can be done securely without any trust needed.

But bitcoin cant even do
#define MAXBLOCKSIZE 1000000 2000000

without taking years...

Ok, I thought you maybe found a solution for those things but anyway.
Trusted parties are already given with your notary notes, right? ;-)

I just think, BTC chain technology is too old and forks lead to the same problems ETH (ETC) had. That is a good reason, to not do the blocksize raise.
I guess the fud would throw the crypto sector into stone age...
Moving BTC to another chain will not affect ALL users and if it works fine, we can maybe somewhen move all and destroy the old chain completely...
BTCs biggest value is, that it was first. And the token can survive very good somewhere else.

I give another good example for the value of being first:

Jungs was ist denn digicube? Seit heute auf Rank zwei bei coinmarketcap 😄

schon weg. war wohl wieder so ein witzbold, der meinte, er müsste seine coin, die nur er hält mit 500$ volumen pumpen...
404  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: February 06, 2017, 03:43:12 PM
...

right now the market is very hot.

it only goes up because no dumper can send coins in and out.

very nice

If you were forced to hold your coins and the price doubled, shouldn't you say "thank you"?
406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Logarithmic (non-linear) regression - Bitcoin estimated value on: February 06, 2017, 08:41:38 AM
@Trolololo
I have another suggestion. Can you try to do this for the market cap instead? This should be a little more precise as its flattening out the early parts a little
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 05, 2017, 04:11:07 PM
I think it's a good idea to distribute the silver/gold funds to the original stake holders we've waited long enough for them. we could use it to start up supernodes. I definately would start one. We were here from the beginning testing and trying out the kinks on the early versions. We're not goin nowhere
I along with other true believers want to see XEM (our NEM) succeed. So Let start a conversation about silver/gold funds be distributed to the original stake holders at least to those who can still pvovide their tokens. Thanks DEVS for the great work. Keep strong nembers Grin

I really don't see why original stakeholders should be pandered to in any way whatsoever. They've either blown it or reaped the rewards already. It would make NEM look like a closed shop to benefit a small inner circle. It would be like Satoshi handing out his stash to the handful of cpu miners while everyone else looks on in disgust.

If there is a gesture to be made with those funds then it should be an inclusive one.

Its a hard one, the funds were put aside for all the original stakeholders.
Thats what the silver coins were intended  for.

As others mention, its a waste of funds to share it around all those accounts, when many are dead.
Perhaps a more fair way would be to lower the amount of XEM needed to run a supernode to the original amount of 1 stake of XEM and then put that fund into the pool of funds for supernode rewards?
I am not running a supernode.
But I am against the heavy lowering the amount of XEM needed to run a supernode, it will cause the dumping (3 million minus newly adjusted) XEM and lowering the price of XEM.
Even if the amount of XEM needed to run a supernode shoule be lowered, it should be done little by little slowly/gradually reflecting tho rising of XEM price.

P.S.) At any rate, i believe the amount of XEM needed to run a supernode will be lowered gradually according to the rising of XEM price.
Because supernode program is not an everlasting program, if it stops abruptly at a certain time, it will cause a big dumping XEM.
So, the best way is gradual lowering the amount of XEM needed to run a supernode.

I agree yshin, whats important is to make sure that enough supernodes are still active even with higher XEM prices, its possible that some current supernode supporter will leave if they could make a million with one click. So, making sure that the System will stay strong and maybe stronger  when time pass is to lower barriers, and wasnt that the original tought of NEM? A Fair distributed System for all partipicants, and not another one for very few persons.

@nzminer your suggestion is rewarding existing supernodes more than other user/  ,  i dont see any barrier how to distribute silvercoins,  1 method could be sending a persmission asset to all original Stakeholders adresses, if the stakholder sends back the permission asset he or she will recieve a silvercoin asset, this could be also an automatic progress,  dont see any barriers for that.  OR just splitt the community Fund and send another amound of NEM instead of silvercoin, could be voted.

Right now the community Fund holds a total percentage of 31% of NEM which means approx. 3Billion XEM! Splitted in following..

NIS NODE REWARDS 9%
SILVERCOIN DISTRIBUTION 9%
COMMUNITY FUND 13%

That means a total of approx 900million of XEM had been safed as Silvercoin Asset Distribution, and that was a consens from Beginning! And should be distributed to all Stakeholders! How and when had to be discussed instead to try changing the rules.

EDIT: Unclaimed approx. 200m XEM/silvercoins could be used for supernode programm or splitted to claimed accounts.

The coins could be delivered to the current stakeholders instead. And everyone gets silver coins for each 2250000 xem (one original stake).
But I don't know if its fair because it was promised to original stakeholders only...

Iguana Desktop Application 0.1.4 released!

It is a better version than previous betas, but as always still be cautious, as this still might have unknown bugs. The SuperNET Team is YET testing this beta. Once we get the signal, this may go as the main release. But, until then, please be cautious using your funds with this pre-beta wallet.

Always make sure to backup your wallet seed and privkeys.

................

@KomodoPlatform

Having had my payout request processed, all I've got so far is my wallet seed- i.e. the 12 word passphrase that was generated on the ICO site (https://ico.komodoplatform.com/)

presumably I get my privkeys when I install/run the wallet

also I assume that having installed the wallet (Basilisk or full mode) there's a facility for importing your seed so that your kmd balance shows up on your wallet.

correct?

Apologies for the basic questions and if they've been answered elsewhere

Thanks in advance Smiley

Yes, just login with the seed and you are in the wallet. Nothing to import.

You will see when you launch the app Smiley

Has the revs asset been assigned to people who deposited BTCD to the ICO site after the ICO? I dont see it in my account

Yes, REVS have been distributed. However, there is no GUI for REVS blockchain yet.

We do have an explorer: http://revs.supernet.org/

I have some critic about the asset generation in general.

Ok, now as Komodo is live, we have a bunch of new assets:
KMD itself
BTCD, this one will disappear, but its still there
REVS for old BTCD-holders
Supernet
KV the new Key-Value Chain
- There were already a lot of other supernet assets like Atomic and so on...

But creating a new asset for each Supernet functionality is dilluting the supernet value, also if supernet holders get 20% of it. Thats why Supernet couldn't really raise much since it was created.
I suggest to be a little concerned, before creating next time...

@denk0815

Hauptsache Pump, was? Grin

Genau aber bischen halbwissen streuen hilf auch:
ach ja, apple hat ja jetzt den btc in die font reingepackt. ich hab da so was läuten hören, dass sie ihn auch auf die keyboards der neuen macbooks machen wollen.

415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PASC] PascalCoin, deletable blockchain & bank account system [PASA] on: January 29, 2017, 04:30:38 PM
I have a question. As far as I understood its like that:
If a pascal account is transferred it is free.
And the account transfer is stored in the blockchain forever.
So if someone is flooding the system with account transfers, won't it blow up the blockchain?

edit: the transfers are stored in the same chain, that can be delete later, right?
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tau-Chain and Agoras Official Thread: Generalized P2P Network on: January 29, 2017, 03:49:58 PM
What is your current task?

writing presentation and the new whitepaper with the new design and advancements

The whitepaper is going to be amazing Cheesy

Ohad has been hard at work on this for ages.

Just to counter the excitement:
I doubt it can compensate the treatment of early investors. I bought 2 years ago for nearly the same price in dollars and the ico is still not over. The promised weekly 2% raise in price of his selling (wich means a 7fold increase in 2 years) is bypassed by using bittrex only and not caring about the price there. There stood somewhere, that the not sold token would be burned, ... but with an ico forever, this will never gonna happen probably.
Speaking in BTC its a loss of about 75%. Thankfully I didn't buy much...
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: January 29, 2017, 03:36:29 PM
If that is not enough, here are more seditious words: "blackbyte", "bad distribution", "better than iota", "very similar to iota", "actually the same" Grin.

This post reminded me to ask: Was there a peer review of "private untraceable payments"* claim?

There will be no buyer here. You can always buy BTCD without escrow easier. So the sence of this thread is quite questionable...
If everyone puts sell offer without any buyer you just kill yourself...
