Thank you for all your quick replies.  Grin

Does anyone have a close estimate of the Break even time?

Unless you have a very cheap electricity, you can hardly break even with those miners now with the rapid increasing difficulty. Sad

Even with free electricity most miners will never yield a positive ROI ever again.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Black Tuesday for altcoins! on: August 12, 2014, 04:37:24 PM
Whales are cashing out because BTC is going down  Grin

You mean they have prior info about a btc drop?

so they cash out everything to btc and then from btc to their nation's currency tomorow

Yeah that sounds highly unlikely!
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 12, 2014, 04:36:46 PM
I think that after the initial dumping the value could hit 5000 satoshi per stellar as a first bubble peak.

But why? As soon as people get their free stellar from the ripple and BTC airdrop. Don't U think?
405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Final capitulation crash incoming, drop your bags & hope now! on: August 12, 2014, 04:36:05 PM
Well it does seem like there's finally some action. Unfortunately the price is going the wrong way and I don't see any news about why. Alt coin holders are saying their coins are dropping more though.

Alts are flat out getting pummeled.  Of course, there isn't any kind of agreed-upon index, but based on some concepts I've been messing around with, if you subtract out BTC and LTC, the rest of the alt market is down 20-30% over the last week.

Right now, TOTAL crypto market cap is 7.905 billion.  BTC and LTC make up more than $7.6 billion. EVERYTHING else combined...hundreds of alts, don't combine to make $300mm in cap.

That is partly due to 3 big IPOs running atm. Ethereum, StorJ and Syscoin.

There are some people claiming it's because of those IPOs, but wouldn't that just dry out the supply? It would only crash the market if those coins got sold by the people behind those IPOs, and the Ethereum coins haven't moved so far, have they?

Many people have all their BTC locked up in alts, so to participate in an IPO they sell their coins to get BTC. Thus creating downward pressure.

I guess I'm almost to the next level (Legendary) except I was randomly chosen to wait a little bit longer.

As was I.
I feel robbed.

Haha, that is some pretty bad luck there Wink
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you spending or hodling? (a poll to summarize previous threads) on: August 12, 2014, 04:33:39 PM
I was spending on equipment for more mining (what a foolish thing) but now i am holding and any equipment i buy is from fiat or immediately replenished.

Don't feel too bad. I bet every single BTC holder has at one time spent BTC for a foolish thing like mining gear.
.9 for an erupter stick.... oh well you live and learn.

I ordered an BFL back in the days when BTC was double digits...
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: August 12, 2014, 04:32:32 PM
Also my poloniex address is still the old format. Can I withdraw to my wallet with the new address format?
The old numbers format are interchangeable with the new rs format

I can use the numbers forever, or they will eventually abolished?

They are still being recognized in the core, but it will not be supported for ever.

I'm pretty sure the dev's said the API will always support the numeric IDs. however, all the wallets and UI will only support RS going forward to minimize user data entry errors.

You are right. I worded that wrong.

Nice strawman tactic sunny1!
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: August 12, 2014, 04:30:40 PM
Even with unlimited money, you can't kill a casino that uses the kelly criterion. You can simulate that with computers. (Casinos without limits is a different story)

With unlimited money you can buy the casino and then still kill it! Grin

Haha. Thinking outside of the box.

Still martingale never works. Not even in theory.

It may not work in theory, but could work out in practice... Wink

What is that supposed to mean? Fact is that your expected value is negative, if you get lucky and make money with it in the short(or medium) term, that doesn't mean it worked..

Banned for telling other persons what they should be while being an anarchist.

Bitcoin is on one step from long dramatic selloff imho.

Global stocks are about to crash. This monopoly game is almost over and all money and property will be returned back to the box.

And what do you suggest? Holding fiat can not be the solution Wink

419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No, Bitcoin Wasn't Created By The CIA on: August 12, 2014, 07:17:12 AM
People are truly retarded. What difference does the identity of the creators make?

It's an opensource project.

the old SHA were also opensource, still they had a backdoor in it .

Maybe it wasn't purpose!

Maybe. I read on reddit that asphicsiation was a possibility.
