401  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: December 02, 2023, 11:09:51 AM
I am consistently reassessing and reevaluating my investment strategy as the halving could have a significant impact on the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins. The halving could also lead to a surge in interest in altcoins. As such, I am on the lookout for alternative investment opportunities. And, of course, dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is a consistent investment I make. That's my plan, at least. What are your plans for the upcoming halving?
I already reached the maximum limit of investment capital, I have nothing to do for now but just wait for the bull season.
For those who have not yet filled their limits, this is the time to do it now. Though we can expect some corrections before halving but for me, we don't need to wait for it before deciding to buy instead, make a decision now rather than losing the chance. The market price is still way far for the ATH which is why buying at the current will still give us a profit when selling them at its peak price.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 01, 2023, 09:48:55 PM
It depends on when I can avail them but if I invest, I'd do it before the halving happens. Just as bitcoin does, most of the altcoins are also going to move anyway after Bitcoin's reaction after the halving. If you have a better choice and you're able to buy at the same season then that's much better.
Everyone is expecting bullish after halving and we believe that the best time to accumulate coins is before the said event. Several times we have been given the chance, yet many people still ignore it. If we still miss this chance before halving, I don't think we still dare to invest when the price of altcoins is already xxx high than today, of course, we don't. Therefore, we should have to invest wisely and think about the future bullish rather than thinking about the possible dumps that will happen before halving. Because as long as we hold them, nothing will be lost on our side.
403  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: December 01, 2023, 09:33:30 PM
There are people who have learnt how to trade, practiced on demo accounts for long but have not had the money to try trading on the market, and so they have abandoned trading to try search for money first. While there are others who have too little income, that they cannot profit from the market trading, they are always worried about loosing and because of that they make mistakes with their technical analysis and end up loosing the little money they have. Should trading be exclusive to financially comfortable and rich because of how risky it is?
It is just to note that some of us have some limitations as well. I don't say that trading is for rich people only but it was just for those who were capable enough to spend and lose their money. It is important to understand that trading is not for everyone, why force ourselves into something that we are fit for it? For poor people, the only way to get in and start trading is to have some savings as well before we start at least we have some backup money. It is not impossible on their part as long as they will find a way but not in the way of taking loans.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 01, 2023, 05:05:22 AM
We bet on the Lakers though? They make a good comeback win against a low team in Pistons. But at least they will have to get this W to bring back their confidence. D'Lo broke for 35 points and almost got a double double with 9 assists.

We haven't seen D'Lo scored big points for awhile now, he stick with his average production which is 17PPG, so it's quite surprising as he is no longer a good contributor for the team. Maybe he would get his confidence back, scoring at least 20 points per game would already be a big help for the Lakers to improve this season. As we all know, it's always AD and Lebron who's been carrying this team, so they could be tired also, time for players like him to step up to lessen the burden of the two.
Lakers will play tomorrow against the Thunder and it looks like this will be an interesting match because the two teams, if we look at their performance, are almost equal.
But previously, in the last two matches, Thunder experienced different defeats from the Lakers, who in the last two matches still had yesterday victory when they met the Pistons and their defeat when they met the 76ers and this was defeat by very large difference.

There is still hope for the Lakers to win the game against the Thunder tomorrow and we will see if D'Lo is able to have more points and make big contribution to the Lakers.

On paper it was interesting but the result isn't.

Thunder just demolished the Lakers with a 133-110 win, Lakers is good defensively but it was the Thunders offense that cannot be stop. Although they are a young team but it's very evident how good their chemistry is, so it's not suprising that they beat the LA with the huge margin.

I hope you ddin't pull the trigger on that game, I mean betting on the Lakers is a mistake.
405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A lesson from other people's mistake can go a long way on: November 30, 2023, 09:49:41 PM
Well, I believe that all of us have committed mistakes and regret them but at the same time, we make this a reason to stay and become more hesitant for the incoming. We are also thankful that old traders shared their mistakes which helped us to prepare and even avoided it.
However, getting afraid to commit mistakes never helps us to grow instead, it will increase fear and uncertainty which is not good. Mistakes are very common but at least we do something not do that again otherwise, we are not learning.

407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: November 30, 2023, 11:55:16 AM
Maybe some people feel it's okay to use 1% of their income, but not for those who have started gambling frequently. The percentage amount is very small for gambling, but if they feel that's all they can afford, that's okay because we gamble within the limits we can afford. We also cannot exceed the amount of money we can afford. I don't use percentages in gambling but it's probably around $10 every week but it's not spent in one week but that amount of money could probably last up to two weeks if I didn't visit the casino to gamble.

The important thing is that you know how much money you can use in gambling and not exceed the limit. If you can comply with the limits you set, you don't need to worry about existing problems. You will definitely be fine playing gambling and enjoy every gambling game you play.
Yes, because there's nothing wrong if you have a certain amount to spend on gambling each week/month. Especially if you think that 1% is too small to start gambling as it won't last longer. Using 1% of your income is just another strategy to at least provide a reminder for most gamblers that was not able to manage their money in gambling.

Exactly. Knowing the amount of money to spend on gambling only shows that you are a responsible gambler. Aside from this kind of strategy, as I have also said in the past, if you make enough profit using your small capital, go on and withdraw the capital, and continue playing using your earned money if you want to stay playing.

They key here is we should gamble what we can afford to lose. No percentage or a specific amount as it's us who should evaluate how much we can afford to lose only and it could change overtime depending on our income. 10 usd per week, personally I find it very small and it doesn't excite me at all but I respect there are gambler who stick with conservative approach in gambling, and if that would make them safe and enjoy at the same time, so be it.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: November 27, 2023, 12:03:03 PM
~snip~
Gambling places are not for steady income, if you want steady income with gambling, online or offline, you have to be an owner, you need to build your own casino, and watch yourself growing up into a filthy rich billionaire in the world.

Online casinos are places where it's certain that you will lose your money, it's a places where you need to be mentality sane to at least have a good ride and experience as you progress, it's not always about making money with gambling, it's always about not ending up running insane because of gambling.

So, I think gambling is not a short cut to be rich overnight. Nobody should so much addict with gambling as much as playing game physically.

Yeah, it's the logical conclusion.

But, there is the fact that gambling provides the hope for some people that they will be able to win a lot of money.

This is why it's so popular, even when it doesn't make sense rationally. It's the hope that these people are buying.
Gambling is an interesting game that's why people plan to gamble again after losing money by gambling and hoping for something better.  Very few people get good from gambling Most of the people have negative comments about gambling but even those people have enough interest to gamble. Such thinking should not make us think that we will earn a lot of money by gambling or that gambling is our career and we plan our future by gambling. If we keep gambling with these thoughts in our mind, then the result of this gambling will go against us. First of all, you must think about your career. If your career is in a good place, gambling can be done as a hobby or for fun.
I saw an interview with a gambler to keep their lottery tickets in the box and it already cost more than 1 million in our local currency and yet, they never win the jackpot prize. However, they remain optimistic that one day they could win the jackpot prize and become a millionaire. I'm not sure where they get that optimism but yes, we can stop people from gambling if they want to as long as they don't bother other's lives and make debts. Who knows that luck will come someday and that will change their lives.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 27, 2023, 11:24:16 AM
It is reasonable to claim that we are good enough when we already consistently win more than we lose.
But to achieve that level is not really easy and I know that it takes several months or even years to prove that we are good at gambling.
Well, doing this is more than a gambling study of yourself. You need data, results, and the number of bets - it was not an easy task as per see. That is why nobody claims that they are good based on the winning bets but the claim is based on their experience and spending time in gambling.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: November 27, 2023, 10:58:02 AM
There are some old people in my family which are paying cricket fantasy games. They usually talk about the games and their performance is matches almost daily. It is obvious that if any younger guy in family will listen about this, he will also be eager to know more about this. How can I stop the younger generation in my family being carried away by this and focus on other important things like studies only ?
That will possibly influence them because the moment a person listens, it also creates interest in them. And yes, they will do some research in order to widen their understanding and how the games are played. But it doesn't mean that those people (the younger generation) will fall into it as they also have their minds to decide if they want. Your take on this is to warn them and help them understand what could be possible outcomes if they were gambling. Gambling is a choice, not the thing that we force others to gamble.
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Often Do You Check Your Seed Phrase. on: November 27, 2023, 05:43:51 AM
Honestly, I couldn't remember how often I check my seeds phrase in a year and even changing my passwords haven't done yet. Maybe there is no problem with that if we know that was totally kept safe and of course, when we know that nobody knows where we save and keep them. It was necessary only if we used 3rd party wallets as they are prone to hacking incidents. Checking twice a year is good enough because as long as we never save our keys/seeds which are accessible online, I was sure that it was safe.

412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 27, 2023, 04:50:03 AM
covering that -2.5 everything went smoothly and really gave fans an entertainment that bettors may enjoy while watching what's happening during the live game.

I'm sure many bettors are disappointed with the result, as they expected Ginebra to win by more than 3 points. The wise bettors who saw the opportunity might be content, but Ginebra barely covered the spread. It's hard to believe the way they are playing now; they are so unpredictable. I can't help but miss the old Ginebra Kings who could easily dominate their opponents. It seems like their current import doesn't bring the same energy that Brownlee brought to the team.

Same here, just can't imagine how Bossing managed to keep that distance knowing Gin kings dominance, though they outscored Bossing during the 3rd quarter I think those who bet early think that it will possibly cover the handicap but surprisingly see the Gin Kings stop that rally and just maintain whatever the lead to secure the win.

Personally, I also think that Bossing will let it go and will lose with huge margins, but we will see what just happened and nothing can be done about it but to move forward and try to check the next games to bet on.

I find it hard to trust the Gin Kings to cover the spread, given their consistent status as heavy favorites in most of their games. Their reputation and the immense fan support make them a popular choice for many bettors, leading to blind bets on Ginebra without proper consideration of statistics against the spread (ATS). This trend makes it quite easy for bookies to set up lines that trap the public into betting on them.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: November 26, 2023, 09:45:35 PM
If you say this will be risky, of course investing in altcoins will be very risky. But we as traders or investors must first do research on the altcoin we will choose. But for Altcoins such as ETH, BNB, SOL etc. there is no need to do too detailed analysis because they are altcoins that are quite popular. I even have some ETH and BNB to hold for the long term. Don't choose an altcoin whose project is still unclear, its goals and development are unclear.
It was risky and we can't deny that but because we don't invest blindly, that will change the direction and the risk chances of losing. As long as we are choosing known altcoins, the risk doesn't matter as we are certain as well that we buy only the projects that are worth holding. Because no matter what we do risk remains and the only thing we can do is be wise in choosing these altcoins.
We never lose OP from investing altcoins if we know what we are doing.
 - choose the right coins, hold, and wait for the price to move high. Because if altcoins are worthless, nobody will take it but as you can see, there are a lot of people holding them.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: November 26, 2023, 01:24:47 PM
I was listening to a news that one of the relatives of a person kidnapped him and asked him for bitcoin in ransom. This happened because that person showed his bitcoin holdings to many of his relatives and news spread among them that he has lot of money invested in crypto. Though, finally funds were recovered from that guy but he could have even lost his life in the whole scenario. Thus, you should be careful with disclosing about your bitcoin holdings to everyone.

I think this should only apply to crypto hodlings. Generally, it is a very risky thing to flaunt your wealth. Not everyone is happy with you and some will be looking for ways to sell you out to people who could harm you and try to take your wealth.

What is the point showing his entire family his portfolio? Was he trying to convince them to invest, or just for show off. Whatever his reasons are, my take from his experience is that one should be careful who you show sensitive things about you to.
It is because some people will get jealous of your great achievement in life and they start to think of making you down.
Indeed, we should be careful about whose and whom to tell our holding but much better to just tell no one aside from our husband/wife. In fact, we don't need to involve our life with others, and actually, no reason for them to know that we have XXX of Bitcoin because they really hate it. Sometime, they will tell us a scammer and some say that we are involved in illegal activities.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 26, 2023, 11:55:47 AM
Alternatively, for those seeking more action, considering Ginebra -6.5 in the 3rd quarter alone could be an interesting option.

Do you think this paid off, right?

Ginebra won the 3rd quarter with a score of 30-19, so the -6.5 spread bet was successful. Congratulations to the bettors who had the confidence to take it, despite it being a high spread.

Now, we are in the 4th quarter. Let's see if Ginebra can sustain their momentum. Covering the -2.5 shouldn't be difficult now, unless they get tired due to their significant run in the 3rd.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 26, 2023, 11:22:43 AM

Looking back at the initial odds, Wemby was the heavy favorite, as if bookies were already certain he would win.

https://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/rookie-of-the-year/

Is there a sportsbook that still provides the betting odds for the Rookie of the Year? I'm considering betting on Chet on this one, as I believe his game has shown significant improvement. While Wemby may currently have more shooting opportunities as the primary player in the team, adjustments will likely be necessary, considering their lack of success in this approach, so that would result to his PPG to drop since the focus is to win as a team, not by individual player.
417  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weak or wise? on: November 25, 2023, 01:03:40 PM

Do you accept to be a weak trader or a wise trader when you exit a trade taking some profit, but not the entirety of what you want on your TP?
No, I don't accept it was a wrong decision nor I call myself weak if that is the best option to do. And besides, we don't have to call ourselves weak because this will be a manipulating factor to think negatively and have no courage to take risks. Instead, make this a wise choice for a trader who wants to save their profit.

One reason why a trader succeeds is because of making decisions. We have to decide what is best for us not because we think that somebody will say we are weak at least we do the thing that favors us.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We should start looking into Altcoins on: November 25, 2023, 11:27:58 AM
The Liquidity pouring into BTC will eventually start pouring into top altcoins and we can already see it happening with likes of $SOL , LINK , $INJ etc making massive moves !

The obvious play here is to learn and leverage on top altcoins to buy
Actually, that is a good idea rather than looking for gems (shitcoins) thinking that this could give us more as it is only just a broken promise.
But we should still limit our altcoins, it was advisable to invest more in Bitcoin. It was not just a chance of earning more but at least we have some assurance that we're safe and we believe that it will stay in the market for many years which gives us confidence that our money will never be gone like dust.

-BTC, ETH, BNB, well, at least having the three is good enough to hold ready for the next bull run and ATH.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you foresee crypto payments going mainstream soon? Why or why not? on: November 25, 2023, 10:58:34 AM
Should we hope for that to happen? I don't think the government will support the idea that crypto will dominate as payment options as they are preferred for fiat. Until there is such low support of the government, there is also low support of the merchants and business owners to take risks and consider this option. In fact, with the recent increase in fees, I don't think you would spend your Bitcoin but for sure, you use fiat.

This is my take, crypto will be considered as a payment option but if we think about going to the mainstream, that is somewhat difficult. Unless the government never prints fiat money anymore.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 25, 2023, 04:57:12 AM
But Duarte is not short so it will be a different strategy and different fight for Ryan Garcia. And as I have said, what new techniques did he learn from James? We can only find out the answers during the fight and see if Ryan can still fight and still a good boxer.

This is a good match for Garcia, as he isn't the type of fighter who loves to throw jabs and use his height advantage; he prefers to attack. Given Duarte's record, which includes many KO wins, I find it easy to predict the boxing technique Duarte will be using in this fight. If Duarte goes all out to KO Garcia (which, by the way, would make him popular if he succeeds), then I guess Garcia's counterpunch has to be accurate to score a knockdown, or, better yet, a knockout to end the fight early.
