401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: January 17, 2024, 12:33:44 PM
Looks like its getting more impossible for this fight to takes place any time soon but we wanted to see this match takes place anytime it is available .

I for now will accumulate money to use as betting here if goes possible in the future.

Maybe it will not happen anytime soon but I don't think it's impossible to happen. As long as Casimero will not retire and he will continue to follow Inoue then I believe the time will come that they will eventually meet. Casimero is a quality fighter but it's just unfortunate he doesn't have a good ranking, but his ranking will grow as long as he remains active and of course will continue winning.

As for the amount you will bet, just don't save for it or accumulate, just bet small and have fun.  Smiley
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 17, 2024, 12:03:26 PM

@Hypnosis00, great handicapping due, 2/3 is not bad all.

Thanks, though I lose on the Nuggets but I still feel good with my handicapping, LOL. Let's see if I would still be able to finish profitable on the next one.

So on the upcoming games, I'm still making 3 picks, and I just need 2 to be profitable.

1- Jazz -4.5 - Not much explanation needed on this one, Jazz has been hot now, so I'm just riding the train.

2-Lakers -3 - I'm hoping that they already found their rthym after a big win against OKC. It doesn't matter if Doncic will play, Lakers can still match them because they are complete and Roy has played already.

3- Toronto ML - They are in a losing streak right now with 4, so they need to get back in the game. I think this is the game where they can win, although Miami is also good on the road but I feel they Raptors can compete and can beat them.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 16, 2024, 12:30:50 PM
We have 3 games only tomorrow, and here's my picks.

1) Nuggets +4

Sure Embiid is back, he scored 41 points on their win against the Rockets, but they are against the defending champion now. Sixers coming from a back to back game, I believe there's still a little fatigue factor compared to the well rested Nuggets.

Sixers doesn't really have an impressive home record, only 15-6 (spreads all covered), so If this will be a close game and they will still win, I believe Nuggets will cover.

2) Kings +5

Coming from a disappointing lose against Bucks, this time they'll play more mature basketball, and might likely win against an inconsistent Suns.

3)Clippers-5.5

Clippers loss to Wolves on their road games, now playing at home and will try to bounce back. So I think it will be a big win by the Clippers against OKC who suffered a loss against the Lakers, also OKC is on a b2b game.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 16, 2024, 11:41:02 AM
Indeed, and thtat's the reason why I keep saying that Magnolia needs to finished it in their first game to avoid that pressure and secure their position in the next round. But, not going to be easy and for sure there are different views regarding to who's going to win the first game.. Good luck mga kabayan!

So this will be tomorrow, right?

Let me check the betting odds. What we have here is the Hotshots at -8.5 against TNT? Is there something wrong with the odds? I just can't believe that TNT was underestimated like this, I mean Hotspots are good but TNT aren't that bad, plus they came from a huge win.

I think I should take TNT at 2.98 this early.

405  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I become a professional trader? on: January 15, 2024, 01:27:39 PM
We all have the chance to become a professional trader but you will be wondering why only a few reach that level.
Yes, by chance we all have equal, but people are impatient, people are always rushing to become successful traders in just a few days and so they fail.

If you want to become a professional trader, then must work on it and acquire all the knowledge needed. Don't expect it achieved so easily but expect more on hard work, and patience, and one must learn from their mistakes. It is simply to say "I have to do this and this" but you will find it hard in actual trade.
406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is the only currency that has grown the most!! on: January 13, 2024, 04:01:05 PM
Yeah, we have many altcoins that were about to show some little interest in growing like bitcoin, but at the end they failed to do that. Although we still have some altcoins that have been existing for a long time now, they still can’t be compared to bitcoin. However, if you look at how bitcoin has been growing, you will see that nobody has complained about it bitterly like other cryptocurrencies, so that is why anytime people get into the cryptocurrency market, they prefer bitcoin instead of other coins, so I think that is why bitcoin doesn’t go down.

Other things are how profitable it is and how low the risk is when it comes to investment. Bitcoin has shown much interest and has been giving positive results so far since its existence. Bitcoin still has less risk when it comes to investment, not like other cryptocurrencies that have higher risk and don’t generate profit. At the end of the day, they may even crash because that is what some altcoins do. A bitcoin investment is a coin that, after your investment, you will surely get your money back with a profit and have peace of mind.
Bitcoin is the main investment and is the king of all coins, so it is not surprising that Bitcoin is an investment that will not result in losses until the coin is worthless. Bitcoin will never even die. look at how bitcoin has developed since its inception, it already indicates that interest in bitcoin is growing rapidly. having a portfolio with 50% bitcoin held would be very good, the rest is just potential altcoins and a few hype coins that could provide huge profits or that rug pull.
That is what we have seen which also encourages investors to just hold for many years rather than sell them in a few pumps.
Of course, not all but most of us trust Bitcoin among other cryptocurrencies a reason why accumulation continues as well as crypto adoption. We can see that some altcoins are increasing sometimes even higher compared to Bitcoin but people have chosen BTC because of the strong potential it has and the role it plays in the crypto market which is our assurance if not forever at least for many years. Unlike most of the altcoins, after the hype, it drastically dump and never recovered.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 13, 2024, 03:25:42 PM
Let's discuss long-term profitable gambling strategies, as well as the elements of such strategies. It is not even necessary to back it up with winning statistics (although no one will mind). It is enough to write that “I think that this strategy is profitable in such and such a game or in such and such a form of gambling.”

I'm not sure if there is a strategy that exists as I think there is none and we got into winning because we have luck. The fact that we can't manipulate the game, strategies seem to be useless and no matter how skilled we are and have a long gambling experience still can't change how gambling works. Maybe if we are talking about trading or investing, we could find it but since we are talking about gambling, then would say nothing.

Gambling is not a source of income, so we don't expect such a thing "profitable" unless we are the owner of the casino.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We dont own enough bitcoin on: January 13, 2024, 02:19:26 PM

If we have this mindset then we will always be trying to get as much of it as we can. Lets face it, getting BTC is at this point more rewarding for the average person than buying Real Estate, Gold, Silver, Oil stock, etc. Lets keep stacking! I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH, WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH!!! STACK SATS!!
Real investors don't stop buying and investing in stocks, they keep multiplying their investment until they die. Saying enough is not the mindset of a true investor as they will grab the opportunity if still there is one. That is why rich people become richer because they won't stop making money.

But being in the crypto space, even if we have a lot of money to invest, we must also consider the high risk which we have to be cautious when investing. And something we put some limitations on. Unlike other forms of investment, Bitcoin is somewhat special as it is hard to predict and assume that it will stay long and safe.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Single or accumulation, which one do you prefer when it comes to sport betting on: January 13, 2024, 12:31:16 PM
Single bet if I bet on underdog, parlay if I bet on favorite.
I have done that in the past with number of bets as experiment but it doesn't work.

I do that because when you bet on underdog, the odds is already big if you win. While favorite has low odds and I'm not satisfied when I only earn small profit. Personally I'm more excited to see an underdog pull an upset since if the favorite is win, it's nothing surprising.
IMO, this is not all about the betting odds, it's about our chances of winning. When you bet on the underdog and you are confident they'll win, then your expectation is high that they will win, unlike with parlay, (at least 2 legged), where even if you are confident you'll win, but you need to win 2 bets for your ticket to be graded as win. We maybe thought that because the odds is low it will win easily, but there's no guarantee on that, otherwise we will be just betting based on odds solely and will not anymore do some analyzing of game.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 13, 2024, 11:31:06 AM
. Anyway, this is still related to PBA and with some updates from the SBP about our national team Gilas, there is going to be a new official coach. Who's your guess, will it be Tim Cone, CTB, Norman Black, Ayo, who else?

New coach? Why? This is insane, Tim Cone coach our national team and brought us gold, why can't they make him as our regular coach? I say, there's no other coach that could deliver success to our country with our national team, it's only Tim Cone and not on the choices of coaches you mentioned. This is an international game, we saw how Tim Cone did beating China and RHJ's team in the Finals.

If they were able to retain coach Reyes that is full of criticism, why would they replace a coach (Tim Cone) that is full of praise for the success he brought?

I don't understand anymore if this news you brought up is true.

This is the news that is related to that. SBP to name permanent Gilas coach, new pool of players 'very soon'

Quote
Whether it’s Tim Cone, Norman Black, Tab Baldwin or somebody else, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) bared that it will make the announcement on the appointment of a permanent Gilas coach 'very soon.'

They didn't say it's a new coach, but they will be naming the permanent coach of the team, which obviously we already know it's Tim Cone. They just want to make it formal I guess, but if in case Tim Cone is not selected, that closest one that is deserving to coach our national team IMO is Tab Baldwin.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a means to an end, Do it for fun and don't take it as a job on: January 13, 2024, 05:57:22 AM
The sad thing is that most gamblers assume to win...even if they lose today, they also think there is tomorrow hoping for their luck to come.
Such thinking has a negative impact on our lives as it leads us to gamble more hoping one day we get lucky. Instead, we want to enjoy gambling, we are now in the chase of making money because that is on our mind.

As we can see, only a few gamblers think that gambling is a sort of entertainment while most of us consider this as an opportunity to earn money.
412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just HODL on: January 12, 2024, 10:12:52 PM
Trading is not a good choice for beginners but sadly, many do this believing that they can make it right but the results are disappointing.
Just hope that the next generation will have the time to analyze their position and be able to see their capabilities because it is hard to assume that we can make a good profit if we lack of knowledge and surely it ends up losing.

In fact, many old traders quit trading and are now becoming investors and holders because they know and based on their experience it was the best option to take.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A brief advice for the newbie gamblers. on: January 12, 2024, 09:33:01 PM
Don't gamble your hard-earned money as you will only just lose.
-Why? There is pressure and that will bother you in thinking the right thing.

Don't listen to the influencers because they are liar. You must understand that you can't win in gambling without luck and what these influencers have shown us are fake and manipulated games where we could think it is real and get tempted.

Don't fall into addiction. Manage yourself to determine when to start and when to stop.
414  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 12, 2024, 03:57:34 PM
It was easy to stay poor - have to keep the mindset of poor.

 - bad spending habit
 - changing a lifestyle like living a millionaire one day after getting a salary
 - don't think about investing instead, give your money to others
 - never think of the better future

Even if you have $ 1 million today, for just a few months you will become poor already if did all of these things.
But people don't like to live poor forever and so they want a change in life and start a new beginning.
415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 12, 2024, 02:54:38 PM
This may be a short bull run, as bitcoin investors fear the approv of bitcoin ETF. But this hope has been fulfilled so the Bitcoin price has shown an upward trend, but I think the Bitcoin price will increase after the Bitcoin halving. A look at the history of each Bitcoin halving shows that the year following the Bitcoin halving saw the highest bullish market in the Bitcoin price. Since the 2024 bitcoin halving is cyclical, I expect to see peak bitcoin prices next year.
There could be another ATH next year for Bitcoin due to the effect of this year's halving, but this is not the only effect for Bitcoin because ETF approval also plays an important role in Bitcoin, especially on the price side in the market. Because what has been seen today is an indication that the impact of this agreement on Bitcoin is indeed there, so that a much bigger increase than before could occur in Bitcoin this year and next year if the correction is still too small.
Whatever drives the current market price increase whether it is due to ETF approval or halving, people are happy to see it and think this could be the day that we wait for many years. And it was very clear to us that the situation is turning bullish again (no doubts about it). We can't say when the next ATH comes but it happen any of these days either this year or by 2025.

Patient holders got their reward while those who sold their coins early probably in regrets and blamed themselves. Well, that is quite normal knowing that not all individuals are willing to wait, many get tired and quit.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 12, 2024, 12:55:51 PM
^^ A lot of good fights indeed for this year. But it's hard to argue though for Inoue winning that coveted Boxer of the year nod against Crawford. Even Haney had a good year as well but they give the award to the Japanese.

Inoue deserves to win that award as he make his opponents look amateur, he simply just dominate unlike Haney and Crawford whom their opponent are really fighting with confidence. Inoue's opponent doesn't fight like that, they are only after for the money (most probably) because when they are in the ring, all they can do is not to be careless so the fight will not end early, but eventually they still get KO in the end.

I think it's more about the opponent and how Inoue destroy them that got him the award for the Boxer of the year. And if I'm not mistaken, the Ring magazine is under the control of Oscar dela Hoya?
yes it was owned by him. Well, regarding the opponents of Inoue, it's very clear that he destroyed them all. Although his opponents aren't engaging anymore but he is still finding ways to win, and that later in the fight they will knock him out, so it's really impressive on how he showed his ring IQ, quickness, and power.

Not sure about the money though, I mean in those lower division is not that big, and maybe Inoue got the lion share on his fight against Fulton and Marlon Tapales as he is the A-side in that fight. But deserving though, him and Crawford could win that award and they are also the #1 and #2 p4p fighter right now.

Obviously there's no much money in lower division  compared to the higher division. And also, Inoue keep fighting in Japan, so we can't expect he'll beat the numbers that the greatest boxers had achieve during their pro, like Pacman and Mayweather.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 12, 2024, 12:06:51 PM

This is not good for the Pacers, missing him for 2 weeks might cost them games because Hali is their leader, he manage the plays well as evidence by his high assists on the last few games. There was even a time that his assists was 23, that's how good he is, his first priority to make a play by making his teammates ready.
418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safety first before accumulation, a lesson I learnt the hard way on: January 11, 2024, 01:18:08 PM
Losing money is always painful experience but we can not ask scammers to refund us so we have lessons to learn, for improvement practically and avoid loss in future. Sorry for your loss but it is good to see you learn from it, imrpove your practice and also share this stoylry with newbies.

Wallets are where we store our private keys and our bitcoins. Choosing a good wallet is first step that is important but is not enough.

A good wallet can be compromised if you have bad practice and it is your fault, not from the wallet developers.

And no matter if we use hardware wallets if we are still careless, that is useless.
In fact, many crypto holders are not using hardware wallets but have never been hacked because they keep their keys safe and have been cautious about any links. Yeah, it is all about bad practices and carelessness and it was not a surprise to anyone who is doing this.

And so newbies must understand first the risk of investing and saving crypto as it was not the assurance to have a highly secure wallet our funds are 100% safe because hackers will find a hole in our security and get in.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey has started again on: January 11, 2024, 12:29:35 PM
This has been my biggest motivation. I wish to be like you in no distance time, but due to financial instability and other factors beyond my major control, it has always seem impossible to start now. Kudos to this great move, I believe you must be so proud of yourself for taking this bold step. I can't wait to join the moving train. Bitcoin is the future.
It won't as you already think that you can't that is the reason. But try to be optimistic and try to become really motivated, it will help you find ways how to start because there are a lot of ways, the problem is that we already have in mind that it is hard and we are incapable. In fact, many poor and jobless people still, they make it because that was their desire, and wanted to change their lives. Don't have a mindset of poor people but rather have a mindset of rich people then you will see the big difference.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 11, 2024, 06:53:50 AM
Second game is important for NLEX as they had a chance to be in the quarters so that -4.5 spread @1.99 is attractive AFAIC because this is a must win game for them against the already eliminated Converge.

Tough luck mate. NLEX won but short by 1 point to give you that win.  They did play well though but converge are just not giving up although it's already a non bearing game for them AFAIK. Sometime, there are games like this that you get thrilled watching but in the end will break your heart.
