401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 12, 2017, 02:30:16 PM
Does anybody know how to uninstall byte ball completely from my Mac? Not only the ~250MB, the whole "blockchain" I downloaded.

The directory that contains all the data in macOS is ~/Library/Application Support/byteball, removing it will remove everything, it's not just uninstalling though, I mean if you have funds they will also become unrecoverable.

But if i have the wallet-seed, everything is fine, right?
with the wallet seed i can delete everything anytime, i can always recreate my wallet with the seed, right?

With wallet seed you can restore bytes and public assets. For private assets like Blackbytes, you need the backup of the directory.

+ you can recover from seed only from a full wallet, meaning that you'll have to download the whole DAG all-over again. Can you tell us what is your intention by wanting to delete the whole DAG so we can maybe suggest other solutions?
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Xaurum [XAUR] on: June 12, 2017, 02:04:48 PM
Could someone explain to me why the transaction from Bittrex can't be seen on Etherscan Xaurum Token Tracker? Example: There was a transaction on Bittrex at 11:12:50 when somebody bought 40985.37 Xaurums. That transaction can't be find on Etherscan Xaurum Token Tracker. Why is that so?

When one buys or sells on an exchange, no (blockchain) transaction is actually performed, these are just numbers ... As nmrcngrb pointed out, withdraw and deposit operations are the one who generate transactions that are visible on explorers.

so there's also no transaction fees? and no burning (0.5 xaur atm) when transaction happens on the exchanges?

The exchange takes its fees on any financial (buy or sell) transaction. It also takes fees when you withdraw, that is a blockchain transaction which implies a standard fee. For Xaurum there's the gas (ETH) + the burning fee, the exchange surely takes this into account when setting a withdraw fee.

When you buy or sell Xaurum (or any asset on an exchange), the only fees are the ones taken by the exchange (taker/maker type of fees), the bockchain is not affected by these operations so there is no blockchain transaction (and in case of Xaurum no burning fee). The transaction fee (+ the burning fee) only concerns blockchain transfers, in case of an exchange, these are deposits and withdrawals.

How many Bytes equal to one Byteball I'm so confused as to how to count this coin. And blackbytes? how do they work and are they the same currency as byteball? Thanks, guys!

There is no such thing as one Byteball ...
Byteball refers to the whole technologie/DAG/app/software. Byteball comes with two built-in assets/currencies, bytes and blackbytes. What you can find traded on exchanges is GBYTE which is GigaByte which is 1 000 000 000 byte.
Blackbyte is a private untraceable asset.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 11, 2017, 01:12:25 PM
Please note that the distribution of Blackbytes is different, in that the richest BTC-adresses will get them first.

Ah is this why I haven't yet received the Blackbytes because they are distributed differently in the snapshot? Will I eventually receive them or am I just going to be content with the Bytes? I am happy I got some airdrop but as the chatbox said I was going to get blackbytes also I was kinda expecting them also.  Grin

Blackbytes distribution takes more time. If you did everything well, then you are supposed to receive them. As long as Tony doesn't say the distribution of blackbytes is over, it means it's still ongoing Smiley. If you don't receive them once it's over, then we'll have to figure out why Wink.

Can I move my bytes to a new wallet now and still get my blackbyte bonus ?

Yes you can. Actually you could have moved your bytes right after the snapshot was taken.

I have some issues with a certain wallet and hope that someone could help me.

1) What is the meaning of this error:

2) When I attempt to import the seed of this wallet, it says no active addresses found and refuses to import it.

3) I do have a full backup of the wallet, but it results in the error as described in point 1.

Is your wallet up-to-date (version 1.9.0) and synced (and is it light or full)?
It seems the error happens when you are trying to send, is it bytes or blackbytes?
So both your attempts to recover from the seed and from a full backup on a fully synced up-to-date full wallet have failed?
Do you remember doing anything special before the error started appearing?
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Financial_Privacy/SuperNET_Core/InstantDEX/PAX/Divs on: June 11, 2017, 12:43:54 PM
I have BTCD on an exchange, can I still swap for KMD if I withdraw now? Or have my coins already been claimed by the exchange?

Yes you can still swap (last swap month is January 2018), and for sure the exchange has no right to claim KMD for your BTCD.

... and now wonder if I should bother.

On one hand, BTCD price generally follows KMD price relatively to the conversion rate, with some exceptional spikes in BTCD. On the other hand, BTCD development is supposed to halt once the swap period is over and a decision is still to be made concerning what to do with the swapped BTCD.

Have the ratios for next round been announced? Same, 20% for bytes hodlers as in this round?

Any news about the next round?

Kind Regards Christian

Same rules like the last round!

For the record, check the first post from time to time, it is updated frequently with the latest news, including the next round's rules once a previous round has passed.

This is the reason why I don't get the blackbyte until now?

Tony usually posts a message once blackbytes distribution is finished. Until then you can only wait.

Can I move out my blackbyte to another wallet? I try several time but still can't

Yes but you have to pair devices before that.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: June 11, 2017, 10:01:05 AM
Ok...thanks...weird....I've not heard more talk on this....I assume when I get around to it I can link more then one wallet in some manner?

You can link as many Bitcoin addresses as you want to the same or to different Byteball addresses (but obviously you can not link the same Bitcoin address to multiple Byteball addresses).

ALSO I assume you this 'snapshot' can be done any time before the next airdrop?

The DAG snapshot happens at a precise time that is announced a bit after the previous round. For the 7th round it will be July 9, 2017 at 04:07 UTC. The BTC blockchain snapshot happens at the first block mined after that.

Guess I'll have to research this more...we are talking real $$$ here Smiley

Yep Wink.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 10, 2017, 04:02:32 PM
I thought the dump after airdrop would be deeper.

Only a fool who doesn't understand the concept of compound  interest would dump now...

Those dumpers will be fool for sure because they don't realize what they will lose in future. Byteball is very big project with amazing features and so many on the plan which will be release in future.

People have different circumstances in life Smiley. Some would sell for the extra income and use the money directly for whatever reason, some would sell in hope to buy cheaper and may or may not succeed to do so, some will simply hold, others will do other stuff. Anyway, if you have the spare funds, just grab more when it dumps and everyone will be happy, the sellers will have their bucks and you'll have your bytes Wink.

Why not read instead of being one of those people that ask the same question over and over again.
...
Like all the questions being repeated over and over again; why not simply read a few posts back or check your calendar?
...
^--- That.

LOL snap....That's a good one.

I guess I am getting a little short with people.   Sad
Thanks for pointing that out.    Wink

It doesnt really matter to me what the price of ASAFE2 ends up being. The real benefit here is to have a clean wallet, and coin that can be transferred between exchanges unlike the current status with ASAFE. Ive traded for months and all the ASAFE I moved to Livecoin are coins that I made from trades that are profit. Ive already gotten my inital investment out long ago. Lets see what shakes out in the coming days before we all express opinions about what might or might not happen.

Good for you that you could recover your initial investment. An opinion is just an opinion Smiley, it is backed by whatever data I have at the moment Wink, I wanted to share it with the thread's readers as a perspective that seems to be forgotten in this thread's posts, and that is, in my opinion, the most likely outcome, it serves as a warning to whoever wants to take it. It doesn't really make sense, as far as I'm concerned, to wait until ASAFE2 sees 1 *oshi, then come here once it happens and say I knew it Smiley.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ████【AllSafe2】█████【 Livecoin.net 】██【Full PoS】██【SWAP END JUNE 14TH】█████ on: June 10, 2017, 11:14:07 AM
Maybe some people don't realize what is actually going to happen (or are just doing it on purpose) ... Some seemed to think that the price couldn't go under 1 sat and that given the fact that ASAFE was only available on one exchange it could only go up (despite the incoherences I've posted a while ago about total supply, lack of everything, etc.), so now you see that the price can actually go way under 1 sat, first cuz there are sell orders starting from 1 litoshi ... second, the swap will simply divide ASAFE's value by 100 000, if the swap happens, ASAFE2 will instantly plummet to 1 satoshi/litoshi cuz seriously nobody in their right mind would buy it, and if they do, well, they will only delay the inevitable 1 *oshi price and be left holding worthless bags (as those who bought ASAFE are now).
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: June 10, 2017, 09:57:25 AM
hmm...confused as hell how this works....lurking

I have 100 btc.....assuming I dig out the paper wallets to do this .jump thru the hoops and prove such..what is the current price.....my figures can't be right it is like 5,200 usd or some such Huh is what I get?

I suppose dragging out the paper wallets...risking them on a machine..firing up bitcoin QT...doing a private message with public key ..then leaving them on same address to get

byteballs makes sense....but again my price can't be right? and/or is there a limit on how much you can cash out? or something?

flabergasted if my numbers are correct ..in that there is not more HYPE on this if that is the result on bitcointalk or elsewhere

anyway any threads I should go to please lead the way ...befuddled on how this works

later

brad

(be nice if $$$ would fall from the air on this..but not quite buying it yet ...anyone?)

Yep that's it, your numbers are right if we consider the price of 1 GB to be 0.3 BTC. There's no limit on the balance you can link, and since round 2, 1 BTC will give you 0.0625 GB so your 100 BTC will give you 6.25 GB (and blackbytes), and by the way the BTC only has to be on the linked address at snapshot time (and for a few hours after that, just in case). The main thread is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Byteballs ::: Buying & Selling & Trading on: June 09, 2017, 10:00:02 AM
Hi guys new to Byteballs so WTB as a learning process.

Is GB for Giga byteball and GBB for Giga black byteball? And giga is the volume denominator i presume?

1XBT will get ~3.22 GB i presume?

Byteball's built-in assets are bytes and blackbytes (you can create your own). GB is GigaByte and GBB is GigaBlackByte. 1 GB = 1 000 000 000 byte, that's the unit used on exchanges. Yes, at current rates 1 BTC would buy around what you said.

If you buy now you'll get 0.2 byte for each byte you hold (on your private wallet) after the distribution of the 6th round, for which the snapshots will take pace in a bit more than 3 hours. However, you should consider the probability of the price dropping after that (it may or may not happen ...).

What is a current size of byteball.sqlite file of a full synced wallet?

My current one is 3,559,501,824 bytes and I'm still syncing. The program shows about 85-90% progress of "new units". However, that may be not accurate since I've restarted the program twice and every time it started from 0. I hope that upon restart it didn't remove previously synced data. So, I suspect the real syncing pgrogress should be at 90-95%. Syncronizing lasts for 5 days.

Is it also possible to copy this database (byteball.sqlite) to another machine, so that machine will not spend days for syncing? If yes, should the other machine have the same wallet(s) to be able to use the database?

Don't have access to the database right now, but the numbers seem coherent. As you said the progress concerns new units, so each time you'll start it, it will start from 0 but that just means it started downloading new units, old units are still there.

Yes you can use the backup option within the wallet and export the backup on another machine (it's supposed to be cross-platform) and yes full wallets backup works with full wallets only and light backup with light wallets only.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 07, 2017, 01:12:11 PM
Is there also exchange for the blackbytes or are they secret coins? What will the blackbytes be used for?

For the time being, blackbytes are exchanged only OTC on Slack channels. For them to be listed on an exchange, some development needs to be done (developing a bot for deposits/withdrawals for instance), nobody until now bothered to do it. Blackbytes are private untraceable assets, you are the only one who knows your balance, and the one you exchange them with only knows the details of that transaction (and your pairing code), they are meant to be used as a private peer-to-peer currency.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 07, 2017, 12:45:52 PM
edit : how can i sync my wallet fast ...please need help.

Full wallet sync is way too slow.
Can I download byteball.sqlite somewhere by http or as torrent?
is it possible to use it this file taken from another wallet?

Syncing depends on your bandwidth and on the load of the hub you are using, you may have to try a hub other than the default one to see if it speeds up things. There's ByteFan's hub, (check out https://byteball.fr for the nearest location). Having said that, syncing still remains slow, so maybe use the light wallet instead.
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 07, 2017, 10:50:39 AM
So i withdrew my bytes to my Byteball wallet but when I put the address in the link it says:

"Warning! This address is NOT linked! You will receive 199,600,000 bytes and NO Blackbytes"

Is that in reference to my bitcoin? I'm still receiving the bytes for my Gbyte holding right?  Are no Blackbytes being given this round?

This means that it detects that the Byteball address you entered is not linked (to any Bitcoin address), so you will receive bytes but blackbytes are distributed only to linked addresses. If you want blackbytes, you should link that Byteball address (or if you have one that's already linked, move your funds there).
