Good morning all. We seemed to have turned a corner and are now fighting to get back above a support line. I think chances are good we breach this level and march towards 9k as the weekend draws closer. #dyor

Make it on Las Vegas during summer and I'm sold. Probably the only place in the world that could stand the assorted and extravagant bunch of us celebrating that awesome milestone in the most extreme and extravagant ways Smiley

Maybe we could even hire the Vodoo Lounge at the Rio (51st floor) just for our party.

Does anyone here have any experience of internet meets? I have a sneaking feeling they'd be fucking horrifying. And for some of the longstanding members there must be people with grudges against them out there, let alone blown opsec with wallet balances being linkable.

I'll send an actor. Or a cat.

Maybe rent one of these perhaps..the Howard Hughes seems apropos.

Bitcoin?  That is still a thing?

Why yes it is. The situation is normal, all....   I am posting 2 charts..one is a slightly bullish take on things and one is more bearish. I am sure many feel as I do, that the market is just waiting to dump more. However looking closely at the price action today is telling me that might not be the case any longer. Volume is increasing slightly and the price is hanging fairly steady at 8k+ for now. We could retest lower lows but I would think a slight run upwards seems more likely at this point as Friday approaches. #dyor #btfd

Actually I overlooked this one too..., and I am soooooo soooooooo sooooo happy (not) that you can find some kind of value in my posts, from time to time.   Lips sealed

It was not meant as a insult even if poorly worded. Your commentary is always valued my friend.
Hey no way, scammer man!  Angry
The WOsM brochure boasted about 100x leverage...

Quite sure you misread the white paper. We offer up to 25x   Tongue

I am not selling, I normally don't care about its $ Price, When i need to pay bills i don't check price and when i don't need Fiat i don't sell so i am good, I will be selling some @ $28K just to cover my 2019 Expenses

+1 undead WOsMerit

I'm worried about the mayor

he always takes these things so hard
Yeah.  I have been thinking the same thing.

Let's see if we can lure him back with some porn!

-snip-

+1 WOsMerit  Should we be showing that many pockets out in public like this? Is that even decent?

And on to Bitcoin..with what prices are doing..might not be everyones favorite topic at the moment.    Cheesy Huh Undecided Roll Eyes

I will keep it brief as the chart pretty much tells the story. A downward move has taken us below 8k for the first time since early February. Hodl mode active.

By the way, there does seem to be decent evidence for the argument that this whole ongoing BTC downtrend remains an opportunity to continue to purge alts, rather than any reflection on any actual problem with BTC fundamentals.

+1 WOsMerit  It's why I always read all of your posts JJG...usually there is a diamond down in the rough.

Anyway.. like Mr Loblaw, my coins are NOT FOR SALE right now.

+1 WOsMerit for the right attitude.

the WO thread is the one and only. every idiot can open a new thread these days. all other threads are altcoins/ICO´s. I just hope they will not fork it (with bigger letters) and insist that the forked WO is the "real WO" thread.

Thanks to infofront for taking it over - including responsibilities and having a moderation vision that seems to have allowed for it's continued quasi-wild, wild west style, and thanks to theymos in allowing a kind of democratic transfer of ownership that seems to have been a very fucking BIG success to the forum and for the bitcoin community.

Out of the real thing, sorry. I was keeping the last few precious like Ebenezer.

I've got a cool new alt, though.

+1 WoSMerit to JJG, wordy man in nonwordy disguise. You're much more effective and - I'll dare unusual adjectives - enjoyable to read when you dress up this way. Try it more often, if you manage. Please.  Tongue

+1 WoSMerit to infofront, for the thanklessest job there is. And done brilliantly, as if from far away.

+10 WOsMerits for putting merits where they are deserved.

@jojo69    +1 WOsMerit     Congrats on Legendary dude.  well earned as well.

By the way..all WOsM's are strictly one to one. So you get one..you can give one.

Bitcoin.

Slumping towards 7800 it looks like. The market is extremely oversold though imo so it could rebound quickly once stabilized. Other than that I dont have much...MM's are forcing the price down to get a cheaper entry point and it seems to be working. There is no fundamental reason for the price drop. The Senate hearings today where fairly neutral..the fact the Google is banning ads is irrelevant to bitcoin..it doesnt market anyway..  *shrugs*   Hodl.

One more good shake ought to convince everyone the sky is falling no?

Still holding on by a thread. Have to see what happens today...next 24...bleh...what ever.  Bitcoin is eight thousand six hundred and forty two dollars right now..pretty sure its dead.

I vote Elon as first President of Mars...just saying.  As far as the threat of AI, it is very serious as he speaks of in that video. Narrow AI..game bots if you will, are now learning without being taught..and beating the best of the previous gens already. I think a key to getting through this doorway could be through philosophy merging more with hard sciences. If the machines can be taught to care about us as we do for children..

On to Bitcoin.

The battle is fierce today as the Bulls and Bears face off. I think we are forming a bullish wedge though, and could see rising prices coming as the bull push forward. Shorts are dropping and longs rising as well. I expect resistance at the same areas we have tested before but this looks strong as support holds at 9k.

From last night. noisy.

4028  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 13, 2018, 05:38:30 AM
I agree its not the magic bean you are looking for.. I thought it interesting because its a power company and its going to integrate the new LN protocol into its payment system so you will be able to charge electric vehicles..which I think is brilliant. Having worked in and around heavy industry for decades I can tell you that for a company this size to be signing up to test and use LN is incredible. The behemoths in the USA do not change direction easily so to see this happening in Japan is positive news for me. Meaning other companies are more likely to jump aboard already proven tech.

Will the price of bitcoin go up or down...yes..it will. I also think its a good time to buy the dips when you can and to hodl bitcoin..thats what I think.

@anon136  My senses were telling me the same things so dont feel bad..I think those moves caught many by surprise.

@LastoftheV8s  Thanks for your interest. What little writing I do about bitcoin are mostly right here at the wall.

What is happening in this thread now, I'm confused.

Same 'ol same 'ol in this thread. Bitcoin however is looking like some market movers want your cheap coins again. As was said..looks to be heading south.

This was what was going on until this morning..pattern look familiar?

There appeared to be some observer affect though as now it has gone another way. I am not feeling very confident about the price right now and I am sure that is exactly what is wanted...with that in mind I will wait until friday to see which way the market is going. #dyor #btfd  See ya.

Gox dumping resumes

This is not a trustee dump..this could just be whales doing price discovery.

Pretty normal volume on this shakeout, what do the professional watchers say?

DING!   You rang?

It appears support is building in the $9200-9500ish range. I expect this trend to continue toward what could be a epic Friday the 13th. There was a chance for more chart shenanigans but apparently sentiment changed early this morning.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

HILARIOUS...  I've spent the last 15 minutes sharing it.

Thanks for sharing...

Yw..I appreciate your charting as well. A lot of good insight I feel. +1 WOsMerit

It's a good thing I'm dollars cost averaging my capitulations. Today is a much better day to die.

That will be enough of that. Everyday is a good day.

21 if the most populated cities on the globe. What do all of these cities have in common? They all have over 17 million inhabitants.

Anyway..out of those 21 cities if you average the population, it is in the neighborhood of 500 million people(cant..data is either old or out dated)so I just rounded it there. That is 15.26563865% of the 7,632,819,325 billion people that call the planet Earth home. If we go with the low metric of 1% adoption at this point...thats 5 million people who use bitcoin in those 21 cities. That gives us 238,095.238 users per city..a quite modest number in my mind. Getting to the next order of magnitude is going to happen remarkably fast imho.

Some kind of slow polyneuropathy like what happens when you have diabetes. According to ILADS doctors and their alternative testing its lyme and/or bartonella but it might be something else. I also had vitamin B6 toxicity and I have a list of other things I wont share. 2 years ago I was the epitome of health and was running 10Ks
I wish the best for you TERA. I will miss your concise unfailing perspective in these discussions. I hope you can find relief from what you are suffering from. My father had type 2 diabetes and had horrible pains from peripheral neuropathy for many years..its no joke. My prayers are with you.

I was writing this last night but was exhausted after spending the day with my kids. The market has taken a 180 degree turn. Is this just exiting or have the tides changed? Here is my take on it.
Quote
Now on to something that has become equally depressing for many..bitcoin. The market has definitely had a bearish Saturday. Sentiment has fallen and so has the price as I am sure you have all notice. I would like to point out the large block in the charts below. It is where money came back into the market in February..a large amount of it. I say this because it lines up with support before the December run up as well. Now if MM's decide to push through the current support at 8700-8900 then we will just deal with it I guess. We had strong support in the 8500-8200 range also so I hope we catch a recovery line start before then. That is mid point of the largest buy in since September..previously it was November of 2015. If the price breaks downward much more past where the top of the box is that money will have to start defending itself. Those that are worried about the MtGox trustee..I say dump the coins now while the price is still low..and on exchanges too, it gives everyone a better shot at equal distribution. The hedge fund Bridgewater has around 160 billion AUM I hear and it is 1 of 10,000+ funds like it globally. I wonder how many are still scrambling at this point to enter the market while coins are still cheap. The clouds are already parting on the horizon.

Someone already mentioned this but..

It announced that the Chinese Bank Governor has indicated that cryptocurrencies will be regulated. That seems like bullish news to me but will have to wait and see how it develops.

It's VERY POSSIBLE we hang out to the side for a while BEFORE actually fulfilling the EVENTS shown with WHITE text bubbles. If it did this (which I've seen before) it would be a mixture of Accumulation Schematic #1 and #2.

As I've said in a previous post:   I've found - When comparing Wyckoff Accumulation Schematics to crypto currency pairs AFTER a major consolidation event - the highs of the Automatic Rallies in Phase A are hardly ever near the same level as the highs of automatic rallies in phase B. So, do NOT assume Phase A "highs" on crypto currency charts MUST look the same or similar to that which is seen in a Wyckoff Accumulation Schematic. That schematic is ONLY an example and by no means implies the price action MUST play out EXACTLY as depicted in the Schematic.

+1 WOsMerit

Nice info in your post. I agree with what you are saying for the most part. The data I am looking at agrees. Here is the most recent look.
Resistance is still in the 9.3k range but if that is breached it looks like clear sailing to 9.5k. Volume has decreased as Bulls appear undecided.

not the point

nobody wants fucking fiat ffs

I feel you..I would have done done things differently but whats done is done and I do not believe it was done with ill intent. Everything that I have seen tells me that it might have been a good thing in the long run.

Here's the thing, where I come from it was Blindman's Bluff. We would never have played Buff. It makes no sense in my language unless I'm holding a shine rag to one of V8's personal automobiles, or his shoes.

Or Russian roulette..I agree. I think there were reasons..but will we ever know? Doubt it.

I browsed like the 1st few pages of this thread just for shits and giggles.
holy crap!! all these heros and legends I've never seen before.
small wonder.
they are all long since millionaires by now and don't waste their time here anymore... lol

This forum has more interesting topics about bitcoin and every other subject really that you can imagine. Its what drew me here in the first place. Digging back through the pages where legends walked is inspiring for me.

It’s just the little people left now.

Cheer up Hairy..its not all that bad is it?

What could have motivated such a decision? Carnage?

I'm guessing Hanlon's razor in a big way. Or possibly Heinlein's Razor if you want to get conspiratorial.

The constant flights of fancy that you guys come up with to speculate on never ceases to amaze me. Have you considered the fact that perhaps the objective was to do exactly what was done. To stress test the open market so as to gauge the response of trade algorithms or even the exchanges themselves? Instead of bitching and moaning oh noes, bitcoins only 9.3k..its dead. Maybe you should be thanking Kobayashi san for showing restraint and wisdom for not putting us all on the floor. Regardless of what it was, Bitcoin seems to be handling it well enough. It doesnt really matter anyway because the HoneyBadger dgaf.
