The reason I use Bitcoin is that I recently learned that murderers and thieves (hundreds or more!) use dollars. My conscience requires I stop using dollars and use only Bitcoin.

What does it mean "work"?
If having slaves water your garden makes it grow does that work?
If the slaves feel fulfilled and by all means happy, sure. So it only works if it is voluntary? If the majority of sentient organisms must experience the illusion/or actually the freedom of association and freedom as individuals in order to be happy, so be it. So you'll let me be free if you think I need to be free to be happy or if I think I need to be free?

Bitcoin is already illegal in most places. even in the US.
do a little research into the legalities of cryptography.
it pretty much depends on how various governments choose to interpret and use the laws they already have on the books. there's probably a good reason why the chinese haven't taken much to Bitcoin - my understanding is that a license is required there, to use any kind of crypto.
Yeah, I heard they put everyone in jail who used a password at any site. That's why the jails are overflowing.

Wouldn't you want to relieve yourself of the longer dated first if you were leaving altogether? Maybe they just have something better to use the money on than getting virtually 0% interest?

I'm in about 10% of my total investments (admittedly small, but I'm poor).
I'd drop it in a heartbeat if I see a possible loss or other problem or if returns slow too much.
I don't believe in it as a currency. There are so many glaring issues that need to be addressed that people just seem to ignore when brought up. Also, the market is so volatile right now, I would never spend a single coin for fear it would rally again.
I treat it like I do my gold reserves. Stockpile and dump if I see problems coming. [/quote
Why aren't people buying coins until their marginal coin is worth the exchange price to them?
So you have 20 coins, and would not dare risk only having 19, but don't care enough to get 21?

with improvements built into the system, from all the bad experiences of bitcoin. no one is doing such a thing? We were waiting because we thought it was your turn to build a decentralized open source crypto currency. You gunna? i thought it was you. whatever happened to evolution and the competitive free market innovation? Free market means people can act on their ideas without violent restriction, it doesn't spawn competitors by magic. I'd love to see something better, I'm not holding my breath.

Don't forget to update instructions on how to convert it to cash as some people may prefer hard cash especially if you die within the next $10 years. The messages of people asking how to get in will be nothing compared to people asking how to get out.

I think it would be best to pay dollars for the right to buy (or sell) BTC at some dollar price at some future date.

lol, you are talking about 1000 coins, that much moves every hour on mtgox.

if they can't deliver gpus then people will rationally buy coins instead of mine since they can't mine. the cost of mining includes the task of getting a gpu, if that is hard the price will show it.

Parent to gov: Why can't I be free?! gov: you might to drugs.
Child: Why can't I be free?! everyone: you might do drugs.
Pass on the tyranny I guess.

Freemoney and bitcool:
Will do 50 btc with each of you.
On silver spot price trading below 30 at least intraday before may 31, 2011.
Consider it booked. I just want to know what source you consider valid for this. I watch Kitco, don't know if that's lame or rigged or whatever. Wow, when silver was at 49 I thought I had a lock. Not so sure at all now! I am happy to pay you the 50btc each if it does not fall another 4.9$ :-) I made a very good trade as I shortened massively between 45-49 $ and now it is 34.9$. Too bad it didn't reach $30 as my "all-in" target was around $29 area. Who knows, I may still have a chance before this summer doldrums is over. 16jfs75JeVTn6y6WKHy4BkCmyFsykhBqYr Yeah, my plan was to make up my loss by buying a ton below $30.

Wow, talk about screwing the poor. You have to work and pay Bitcoins and all you get is govBucks.
No, the secret agreement would be to pay back a percentage of the wage. Basically you receive say 100$ each week. You convert them into bitcoin on the current exchange rate, and you get, say 10 bitcoins. The agreement is to give back 10%, so you give one bitcoin back to your employer and you keep nine bitcoins. Also, part of the agreement can be of some fixed wage amount expressed in bitcoins. This should protect the employee against too a strong devaluation of the dollar. So the wage would be made of this: - the minimum wage in USD, paid only in order to comply to labour legislation ; - a secret percentage paid back to the employer. Could be from 0 to 100% ; - a secret wage in bitcoins. Could be 100% of the real wage. Yeah, I was just being clever or sarcastic or something. I think it is one way that we'll be able to interact more freely thanks to Bitcoin.
