it depends. how valuable is that organism... to you? is the organism your mother? would you beat a man into submission to bring her water if she were thirsty? is the organism your brother? a cousin that you don't particularly care for? a soldier of your country during war-time? a fellow citizen during war-time? either... during peace-time? some human from anywhere who has sustained or defended you? do you posit a relationship between debt and altruism? is there one? are we moochers in need, but bankrupt in debt? i dunno. do you? If it is valuable to you why would you need to be enslaved to help it?! He didn't ask if you would or should, just if enslavement is appropriate. Will BTC work as a currency, to buy goods and services?
I hope people will start to accept bitcoins. This is curcial because otherwise, people will just loose any interest in bitcoins and sell them, leaving with a negative opinion. Which will lead to decrease in value. Yeah, the more you can do with them the less they'll be worth. That's been the general trend. |

The fee will go down. It's left over from when .01 was trivial to block spam. For some reason the drop needed to be phased in.
Remember that there is no Bitcoin company and you are free to get software that communicates with others any way you can. Eventually people will be commissioning custom clients I'm sure.

If you trade $100,000, your referrer gets $50. Is it really that big of a deal? Affiliate programs can be useful, but not how this one was executed at all. This results in a bunch of doofuses advertising the same thing in the same place to people who 100% would hear about it anyway. They add zero value. On top of that it's essentially free for anyone who cares to get their own referral money. I stopped making market a while back, but $100k doesn't take that long when you constantly take both sides. |

Just to make an interesting point: if Bitcoins did not have some initial value, no one would have spent the resources to mine them. So everyone who says Bitcoins are worthless are clearly wrong.
Maybe bitcoins are worthless to them, but I'll gladly give you a $10 bill for one. They have value to me. |

In my opinion, only offering a new forum software won't be enough to attract people. Its personality has to be very different from this forum. For example, quite a few people have been complaining about the high noise of this forum so you might get a good market share if you strongly discourage newbies across the whole board, or even go as far as only letting known faces in.
I wouldn't be interested in it, in that case. How did all the known faces arrive on the scene without ever being a newbie? A section full of only new ideas would be awesome. You can't get that if you let newbies in because they haven't been caught up on all the ideas. 'All' is an exaggeration, but you get the point. |

As a side note, I'm seeing some asks in the $50 US range. This doesn't make sense; one contract = 1 BTC. You might as well just buy the BTC if the ask is over market.

They naively followed MtGox terrible BTC deposit method and even made it worse. Click to get an address and click a few more times to actually see it?
It's easy to do it right:
User asks for an address to pay to.
You give it to them with a message about how long it will be good for.
Listen for payments to that address.
Credit any payments until it expires.
