Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think I0Coins should retain value, if not increase...

Their launch was notably "clean" when compared to either IXCoins or Bitcoins. That's one advantage. If both were valued equal, people would prefer i0coins over actual Bitcoins.
Bitcoin wasn't really "launched" so much as it was rolled out. There wasn't much fanfare when the first blocks started being mined out, and this was entirely due to lack of awareness of the project. Both IXCoins and I0Coins suffered from their own set of issues which are discussed in other threads. And however much I'd like for I0Coins to be valued at 1:1 to Bitcoins, I don't think anybody would want them more than Bitcoins since you can't really do anything with them except trade them in for Bitcoins. Does anybody else find it weird that the term "Bitcoin" gets a red underline on this board? The board doesn't give the redline, it is from your browser (is it?). Right click, add to dictionary.

It sounds like your data directory may have a corrupted blockchain or other files. The data directory is %APPDATA%\bitcoin, which typically resolves to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin. Before we get started, copy your wallet.dat file in that directory to a USB stick and store it away, and copy the entire data directory to a new location, name the folder bitcoin-backup or such, so you can always put things back as they were before you attempted repair. The easiest way to rectify this situation is to remove all files from the data directory except the wallet.dat, download a nightly version of the the blockchain from http://bitcoin.bluematt.me/bitcoin-nightly/blockchain-nightly/ , unzip these files into the bitcoin data directory, and launch bitcoin again and let it update to the latest block. Owe you some coin. Post or PM address.

I'm looking for a seal (the animal) showing it's belly. On the belly is a tattoo of three clubs (like a caveman's club) arranged to look like a club (playing card symbol). The seal is wearing sunglasses. The seal is grey.
I'm looking for good work and probably a few drafts. If you can do it let me know and offer a price.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 0.3.24 crashing on open in Win 7 [.5BTC bounty now]

It says:
Exception: NSt8ios_base7failureE CAutoFile::read : end of file C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\bitcoin.exe in AppInit()
Then when I press OK I get the same thing again and then it tells me that runtime has terminated the program in an unusual way.
I'm guessing something important on my machine is corrupt?
Bounty added.

I don't see why people don't just save normally and leave enough left for retirement.
Um, what is saving normally?
