There's also Seals With Clubs.

3323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm done on: September 16, 2011, 04:47:40 AM
The problem isn't BitCard or my way of running it or my way of marketing it, it's these folks on here that think their BTC is going to go up so they'l hoard it and not do anything with it. It's bad for business'.

This is ridiculous. If people like your product better than coins they'll give you coins for it. Is your theory that every bitcoin business has failed and every one in the future will?
3324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mooncoin taken over by the feds? on: September 16, 2011, 04:18:06 AM
You can't have a "free market" and then cry when the free market kicks you in the crotch and takes your lunch money.

Um, part of the free market involves figuring out what happened and who is good and bad to deal with. It isn't magic paste.

3326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hoarding Vs Spending Effect on Price on: September 15, 2011, 10:06:40 PM
Seriously someone point out a difference between saving and hoarding please. I'm at a loss.
3327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mooncoin taken over by the feds? on: September 15, 2011, 10:04:30 PM
Doesn't this belong in "Alternate Cryptocurrencies"

No? He took my bitcoins it seems. I thought I withdrew, but I can't find the tx, maybe I didn't or maybe he didn't pay it.
3328  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitcoin Apocalypse 1BTC trading under $5 USD on: September 15, 2011, 09:32:57 PM
15 months ago I sure wasn't worried about bitcoin crashing back to $5, pretty strange year.
3329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10% Rebate in Bitcoins on every order! on: September 15, 2011, 09:04:05 AM
So this one time I thought about selling people some crap they didn't need and including bitcoins to entice them to buy it. Needless to say, this is the good version of that crappy idea. Should be very greatly appreciated by many.
3330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hoarding Vs Spending Effect on Price on: September 15, 2011, 08:26:24 AM
Can we discuss saving vs hoarding here?
3331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mtgox reverse trades again on: September 15, 2011, 08:23:45 AM
Someone I trust told me they had part of a trade reversed two days ago on MtGox. Coins were in account, then not, trade was at a reasonable price, like $6, only part of it was rolled back, said something like "error in trade matching".

3333  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BitcoinExchange.cc - BTC/SLC - Western Union, MoneyGram, MoneyPak, ACH/Wire, on: September 13, 2011, 09:31:56 PM
Well for what it's worth, I dealt with BE.cc about a month ago (I'm sure I posted in this thread a few pages ago) and I can say that BE.cc is not (or was not) a scammer and I did get my coins, but BE.cc is slow to respond and ship out your coins once you place you order. Plus I felt cheated because after placing my order, he didn't send the coins til like 2-3 days later when the coins went up like 25%. All in all it took like 4 days to get my coins. Undecided

However, with the amount of bad complaints, the long time it takes for him to even check back on this forum and the time it takes to process his orders, I would say just go with someone else now.

I think he waited to sell my coins and is not going to pay me unless the value goes back up.
3334  Other / Meta / Re: Proposition: Forum Entry Should Cost 1 Bitcoin (about $10) on: September 13, 2011, 09:13:51 PM
Who is stopping you from creating your own forum with such a feature?
But that's beside the point. The traffic to this board decreases every day, and the trolls will eventually move on.
That's a moot point. Forums and social communities are natural monopolies. There is little reason to move from an established forum over a single feature addition.

What the hell are you talking about? I'm in like 5 forums at this minute. Would you call power provision a natural monopoly if my computer, heater, and washing machine were all powered by different companies?
3335  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hear all this technical analysis and all I can think is... on: September 13, 2011, 07:07:22 PM
The remaining questions are 1) what does the endgame look like, and 2) does anybody care?

In the venture capital community, there are successful startups that achieve over a 10x gain, and failures that go bankrupt. But those aren't the most common case. The most likely outcome is a "zombie", a company that generates just enough revenue to pay their operating expenses but has no hope of paying back their investment.  VCs usually have a stable of zombies, which they view as annoying; they need attention, but don't make money. The founders often continue to dream of a big win, and keep trying to get more investment capital.

The endgame for Bitcoin will probably look like that.

Bitcoin has been dropping about $4 per month for three months now. With the price at $5.80 today, the end is in sight.

Just a month and a half until I can buy all the coinzzz!

Cut out the middle man. Hey mom, I encrypted this bitcoin private key with your PGP. Decrypt it and use the import key utility built into bitcoin v1.2.04.

I would absolutely not do business with this man. I'm currently hoping he is incompetent. I think a Mod should flag the title or something. I would not recommend a scammer tag yet.

Who?
BitcoinExchange?
I'm pretty sure that's who he is referring too.

Uh yeah. Is there reason to think that it takes several people to receive bitcoins and not pay?
3339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tulip industry now worth over $1 billion dollars per annum on: September 13, 2011, 04:27:32 PM
VERY MISLEADING.

You can use tulips to get a girlfriend. Nobody is wooing anyone with bitcoins.

My wife makes me sleep on the sofa when I talk about bitcoins

I'm sure there is some amount you could have that would fix this problem.
