421  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 3commas bot system on: June 19, 2019, 10:46:29 PM
In addition to what BitmaxZ said, read this thread too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5105213.0;all

Also read this very elaborated post if you want to try it out: https://medium.com/@macropus/3commas-trading-bot-how-to-use-it-77c3d9d6edb4

Found this too but it kinda seems a fake play: https://www.reddit.com/r/BinanceExchange/comments/8vy3qh/3commas_scam/

Overall, the bot seems kinda legit, its on you whether or not you want to try it out.

423  Other / Meta / Re: How to properly report ban evasion ? on: June 19, 2019, 11:15:47 AM
Since more and more people are getting banned due to plagiarism currently and quite a few of them just create a new account to further participate / spam this forum... what is the correct way to report ban evasion ?

Simply report a post of them with 'ban evasion' in the comment field ?
Post into a 'Ban Evasion' thread (e.g. [Report] Ban Evasion [Requesting Admin/mod to check those and ban]) ?

What is the consensus here? What is the most efficient way which creates the least workload for the mods ?
You can't reduce the workload of mods, mods will have to do their check before taking any actions so if someone tries to reduce the steps involved in reporting accounts that evade their bans, the mods will only have more work to check and if they don't find enough proof, of course then the report is gonna be marked bad or unhandled which many people find hard to swallow.
Just elaborate however you can so the mods can understand what you're reporting, with suffice proof in the form of accessible links.
424  Other / Meta / Re: [Ban explanation appeal] for user Branko on: June 18, 2019, 10:11:13 PM
People shouldn't be banned because of memes :/

At least give the dude a sig ban, if not an unban? A small price to pay for salvation. Smiley

Plz don't ban me, I quote the almighty thanos.
425  Other / Meta / Re: Can We have bitcointalk user interface changed to something like Facebook UI? on: June 17, 2019, 11:29:33 PM
Epochtalk is in the process of getting released and seriously, I'd like to stick more to this current UI than upgrade it to something else knowing that it gets me the vibe of the retro webpages and mailing lists. Also, I doubt you'll get any support into changing the theme of this forum into something new, as most of the users in here currently are in it for the content and not actually the design of the webpages. Perhaps once epochtalk is released, theymos would allow customizing the forum personally (like what Friendster and Myspace did) though I doubt that it'll get that funky and flexible than what we currently have.

We can do it here, it's just not fitting.
Friendster and Myspace are both dead :/ . While btt doesn't look bad in general, it wouldn't hurt to have a much neater UI, and have a few short cuts here and there(for example having a section with a few of your favourite threads or important pages fixed on one side of a page , like reddit[1]), or when you use the search, suggestions could pop up, et al.

While I get that having a retro look to websites is quite rare nowadays, the user experience quota of the site could be improved in many many ways, keeping in mind the old school theme.

UI is great, UX on the other hand, not so much :/

426  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can a DT member (or any member) oppose their own flag? on: June 14, 2019, 09:48:21 PM
I mean I'd say it is fine for someone to oppose their own flag if they end up changing their mind or any other reason, there should be some benefit of the doubt for the users in the system, so for now its fine for the system to be fine as is, for now at least, unless people start abusing, but i dont see that happening.
427  Other / Meta / Re: [INFOGRAPHIC] Experiences of a Bitcointalk Member on: June 14, 2019, 12:46:50 PM
You pretty much missed all the main aspects of being a btt member.

Its basically you knowing and experiencing that:
  • Craig Wright is the real Satoshi and Roger Ver his right hand.
  • BCH and BSV is obviously better than bitcoin.
  • DT members are prostitutes.
  • QS is the most rightest person, and the proof he provides for accusations goes above and beyond the court of law. QS for 2020 people!
  • Signature campaign is a secret word for third world people doing manual labour to earn pennies.
  • Also, theymos runs a free yet exclusive brothel only for bitcointalk members.
428  Other / Meta / Re: please notice me on: June 14, 2019, 12:36:48 PM
There’s nothing worse on a forum than users feeling the need to announce to the entire place that they’re leaving Cheesy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGcHNnI2mh4

I will miss you pal. We didn't interact much and I could never tell if you were kidding in all of your posts.

He's a self-admitted troll. A desperately unfunny one at that.
At least he's probably better than CH and his fuckall rants with his alt/s.

You can never really quit this place.
Its much easier than you think it is, especially when you're not on DT(less responsibilities)Cheesy

Unless you're a money addicted whore....or an Asian.
429  Other / Meta / Re: Let me be the first to start a bitching thread about the flags on: June 12, 2019, 05:23:21 PM
I kinda feel like this whole new change might make the newbie understanding situation of scams over here potentially more worse. Like instead of the crying red mark that scammers and deceiving people had, now its just going to be a series of numbers which most of the new member wouldn't bother understanding with. I hope I am wrong but it doesn't really seem like it.

Is it going to be any useful, for I only see more threads about new flags being created, and not so much support/opposal for it yet.

Someone enlighten me how this could actually be useful.
430  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Need me some advice on: May 20, 2019, 10:30:42 AM
I also have a frozen account on Bittrex with a few NEO stuck because they want me to send them my documents. It's been 2 years already. Smiley
I bought them at ~$6 each and they reached $160 at some point, so it kinda hurts. But I prefer to keep it this way.

I don't think there is anything you can do (other than verifying your acc). So, that's up for you to decide.

I'm in the same situation except with Poloniex and 1.6k XLM (~$200 USD). I don't think there's anything that can be done unfortunately  Sad
Gosh that sucks, feelsbadman.

Did Bittrex happen to send any warning emails regarding this? I don't recall receiving any such emails, I could be wrong tho.

Once a company asks for KYC docs, they are not going to allow access to your money without you KYC verifying your account.

In today's day and age, I would not trust any business with any of my money that I would not be comfortable trusting KYC verifying my account with, and I would suggest others use the same criteria. If you would not trust a company with a copy of your passport, why would you trust them with your hard-earned money?
Because the cost of one's identity weighs way more than a few hundred bucks. Crytpo was initially known for full fledged privacy (sort of) and that's one of the main reasons why I got into it. I care more about my privacy and identity in general than those few hundred bucks, because I can earn those bucks anytime I want, but there's other things in life other than money.

I'm still undecided about this, and would rather keep the account idle and disabled for some time until I get a firm head on this situation.
431  Economy / Exchanges / Need me some advice on: May 18, 2019, 08:17:58 PM
Soo.... after like many many months, I logged into my bittrex account to move some of my coins(I know, I SHOULDN'T HAVE KEPT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE, I AM A HYPOCRITE(lazy)) from there, only to realize that my account was disabled. And upon contacting the support, I was told that the only way to enable is to verify my account, and to do that, I have to give my documents.

And I am not so sure if I want to give those documents to some random dude in a random country. There is like a couple hundred bucks in there, but uhhh, I am just undecided and am in some sort of dilemma right now.

Advice away, people.

And spammers, fuck off.
432  Other / Meta / Re: Shouldn't Theymos act on Bounty Managers Now on: May 17, 2019, 11:32:50 PM
Now that stringent measures are being put in place to eradicate plagiarism and spamming through ban and all that, will it not also be time for Theymos or the admins to put in place measures to checkmate Bounty Managers on the way they run their bounties? I mean shouldn't these mangers become strict (or be forced to) on crosschecking the post habits of their participants? The altcoin bounty threads are now messy. What can be done to make it better? Your suggestions can help Theymos make a valuable change.
Plagiarism is a crime, its a massive offense everywhere. Bounty management, not so much or at all. Spam is all across the internet, only difference here is, people get paid to do so, and worse of all they abuse that crap to hell's extent.

A simple solution would be to not allow any bounties on this forum since its a bitcoin forum, and to host all the altcoin bounties campaign elsewhere, but that argument has been used for far too long, and nothing has come out of it. There are a million solutions to tackle this(exaggeration), but none of them would be viable here because liberation rules this forum, so chances are very minimalistic.
433  Economy / Reputation / Re: Poetry, by TMAN on: May 17, 2019, 10:06:50 PM
Tman should definitely write some hentai poems, given his amazing talent and his obsession, nae his overwhelming love for pajeets and butt cherries and obviously, tetzels.
434  Other / Meta / Re: How many posts I need to report to get a project using bumping bot down? + virus on: May 15, 2019, 11:00:58 PM
Huh. I checked the website, and I didn't find any viruses of any kind,I do have malwarebytes premium installed, and I even ran it through Virustotal and got nothing. Maybe that's why the thread is still up and running.

Unless there is reasonable proof, the likeliness of the thread getting thrashed is very likely.
435  Other / Meta / Re: Ban user markiz73 on: May 10, 2019, 09:05:25 PM
colleague, I do not deny my guilt, I made a mistake.
But my posts did not offend anyone, did not harm the forum and its users, did not call for financial losses and deception of other users.

I am Russian, and I copied some phrases, because I did not know how to write in English. And without knowledge of the English grammar when using Google translator, you can get the usual set of words. I am even now copying some phrases, because I don’t know how to write it in English
I do not understand you, why do you deny me an account because of 2 posts that were written about 18 months ago Huh
This topic is already overgrown with moss.

Read my latest posts, if you are too lazy to translate, then ask the opinion of admins and meritsorses in Russian local.

I am a miner, I have a lot of merit and useful posts on this section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=21.0

If you decide to judge me, then at least spend a little time to study my case, my benefit for the forum and the harm that I caused.
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=markiz73

I only ask you for support in that I do not deserve such harsh punishment.

I know that moderators can mitigate punishment.

In the real world, even murderers and rapists are not isolated for life. Have I committed a heavy felony?
That's not how it works. You weren't forced to make posts in English, there is a fully populated Russian board on this forum.

You should have read the rules, and there is a thread containing all rules in Russian, so you did break a rule, and you were banned afterwards.

There is a slight to no chance of your account getting unbanned, no one cares how many merits you earned, so fortunately or not, you're not coming back to this forum anytime soon, not only your account. Sorry not sorry.
436  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lending money = DT Trust? on: May 10, 2019, 02:21:04 PM
I was wondering if I start lending money and once all have finished smoothly, it means that I could get a positive trust easily?
Its more complicated than that. Lenders need to understand the complexity of the trust system before just handing out trust like a hoe-spawner, especially with the new changes in the trust system.

I'd understand if you give out trust rating for dealings more than 500-1000$, but anything below that shouldn't really ask for a positive trust. Obviously this won't be the only factor, the behavior of a user comes into account as well, and that should matter the most when it comes to handling trust. The person's maturity, and attitude should play a role when giving out trust, based on the post history of the user in question.

TL;DR: @DT members: Don't give trust stupidly. Just because someone pays a loan back, it doesn't make them trustworthy.
437  Economy / Reputation / Re: Nitrogensports.eu dodging questions regarding their operation on: May 03, 2019, 11:47:26 PM
Had there been any lead or progress regarding what is to be done regarding this whole scenario? It is definitely shady for a comparatively big gambling website to ignore the same question over and over again, and go over the question asked.
438  Economy / Reputation / Re: The fake vouches are coming from alts [?] on: April 27, 2019, 08:14:49 PM
Its too obvious. All of them so called "vouches" are from newb accounts. And he's offering paypal trades. And a shitposter. Classic btt scam attempts.

The guy is farming, hell, he has already been tagged for that. Red him down further more!

439  Economy / Reputation / Re: Yobit and campaign manager discussion on: April 20, 2019, 06:43:31 PM
If you do decide to manage yobit's campaign I would honestly suggest you to rather reduce the number of accepted posts per day, otherwise people are gonna make unnecessary redundant posts. Swear to god, it will be sp annoying to read the same posts being posted by the same people over and over again, only rephrased differently. I would suggest to reduce the number of posts, and increase the pay per post, so the campaign actually seems viable to manage.

Regarding the reputation, I can't say any good or bad things about yobit, not from my perspective. But yobit is very shady, at best, and have failed to properly communicate with their consumers. So when you decide to take up their campaign management, there's a fair amount of responsibility on you, if yobit takes time to payout, which could potentially take weeks and months.

Another point to be noted is that, there have been consequences for managers in the past for managing campaigns for questionably/shady/the ones that have proved to be a scam(eg. Bitconnect),so sort that out first. Use disclaimers, and inform users about the potential risks, and that you won't be held liable for things.
