441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was ripped off on: October 19, 2023, 11:55:12 PM
I sent a guy a down payment on a car. I use a program called Electrum. After I sent him the money I figured out I was being scammed. Do I have any recourse? Any way to recover my money?

I do have the guys wallet ID and the transaction ID.

Thankfully is was only 55.58663 mBTC
AFAIK once it is confirmed there is nothing that we could do to retrieve it back into our wallet.
If it could be retrieve then there wouldn't be any victim of scams in crypto, you aren't the only one that got scammed.
There are so many crypto users that got scammed but couldn't do anything about it specially on investment scheme's.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ? on: October 18, 2023, 12:26:41 PM
Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ?
If it is affecting our relationship then I would do it on my own she don't need to tell me about it.
A person would change for the one that they love to keep them.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 17, 2023, 11:05:39 AM
Some gambling questions I want to ask please answer.

How many percent of signature earnings you gamble away?
None even on my salary, I don't really gamble much so I don't put it on my budget list or give a percentage on my earnings.

Do you prefer Fiat or crypto at a display currency?
If I would be gambling I would prefer it to be shown in crypto rather than Fiat I just like to ignore how much it is if I am enjoying.

What is your favorite game you play all the time?
Mines
What is your favorite casino platform?
Right now I don't really have any favorite platform.
Are you a responsible gambler?
Well I think that I am since I could stay out of it if I wanted to, just like how I stayed out of gambling right now.

444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halloween inspired poll –would your Bitcoins get passed on if you suddenly died? on: October 16, 2023, 12:18:29 PM
I am sure that all of my crypto would be passed down to my relatives by the help of my brother.
He knows how to use crypto wallets that I am currently using ane same goes with him, the only difference is that his wife also knows how to access his crypto wallets.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: October 15, 2023, 03:22:49 PM
When we gamble what we are looking after or expecting is money which is [profit] and when buy bitcoin and invest what we are looking after is [profit] and when you so many people they skip bitcoin investment to gamble and some uses very big amount of money to gamble whereas the same amount of money will achieve some fraction in bitcoin investment. So I come with this question to know the thing between this option or words I presented the one that done you more harm, if bitcoin  has done you more harm during the times you invested in bitcoin you can tell the public and if gambling has done you more harm by losing in gambling frequently you can also tell the public.

But for me I think gambling is the one that done people more harm than bitcoins investment, because almost every day people gamble with different platforms but its few of people that invest in a day or weekly, I will like us to discuss these.
Investing in crypto not just in Bitcoin without proper knowledge about it is considered gambling, you are blindly putting your money at risk.
And also there are people who bought Bitcoin to gamble or use Bitcoin as a currency on the platform that they use to gamble, so what's the difference for them?
But if it is on my end I would say that gambling made me lose more money than my investment in Crypto, on my investment in crypto I could control or manage the loss, but when I am gambling the money that I've sent on gambling site would be all or nothing, it is either I would gain profit that I've set up before sending it or losing it all.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 12, 2023, 12:21:25 PM
I am not sure since I grow up with my Grandma and she usually gamble with her friends to enjoy and pass time, I think that it would be normal for some old people right now sine they aren't into technology so it is their way to have fun and enjoy their time.
But for us I think that it would be a different story so I am not even sure if I would be gambling when I am old.
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 06, 2023, 12:08:17 PM
I was introduced to bitcoin in 2013 by my friend, but I was skeptical about it. Back then I believed it was one of those investment schemes that usually crash within a short period of time . My friend tried everything he could to make me understand that bitcoin is the future of money, but I gave him no listening ears, he got tired of talking to me about bitcoin. I was waiting patiently for the day he will come crying to me that bitcoin has crashed and all his investments gone.
But to my biggest surprise and to my loss, I have been waiting for over a decade now and bitcoin has never crashed instead it has been gaining popularity and global adoption. My friend who first told me about bitcoin is now a millionaire in dollars. This happened before my very eyes and I have been a regret for not listening to him when he was talking to me about bitcoin.
~snip~
Most of us have regrets on not knowing or getting into Bitcoin much earlier than we had.
Some of us know some people who became successful because they had been in crypto for a long time or been with it on its early days, but could we say that we would also be the same? would we be successful if we were on their place?
Some might not control their greed and trade their coin when they get a profit and quit or spend their profit.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: October 05, 2023, 06:03:46 PM
Yes, Gambling addiction has strained a lot of relationships through financial instabilities emotional turmoil, social isolation, and family problems. Gambling which was meant to be a popular kind of entertainment for many and was designed to provide a temporary escape from everyday life and also help one to be more observant mentally task your brain and it is also good for your mental brain. When it becomes an addiction it causes financial strain the strain can manifest in various ways including the loss of shared savings, debt accumulation, and financial secrecy which may lead to strained communication between partners. This communication breakdown can prevent couples, friends, and associates from working together.
Any addiction would affect relationship.
All sorts of addiction would consume your time, attention and money so of course it would greatly affect your relationship.
Even if those who are addicted would explain it there are some who wouldn't even understand it.
449  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 04, 2023, 04:54:55 PM
I was in argument with someone. His view is that people who gamble are those that what they have is not sufficient for them and so they try to make more money from gambling. He said if you have sufficient money to take care of your needs that you won't think of gambling. He made reference to some rich people, who don't gamble because they have sufficient money to even gift to charity but that those rich who still gamble are only addicted to it not just because of the money. Therefore, that the percentage of the rich gambling is very small compared to those in middle class and lower class.

So my question is, is the percentage of the rich gambling lower than the middle and lower class?
Some might be gambling for that reason, but honestly I don't think that it is the reason why most of the middle or lower class gamble.
If you don't have sufficient money why would you even risk what you have?
For me only fools would do it, we could all agree that our main goal in gambling is the profit, but it isn't the only reason why we gamble.
All of us have different reason why we gamble aside from aiming to gain profit.
And for me it is either to relief some stress or enjoy time with my friends.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's first tweet since 2018? on: October 03, 2023, 05:04:50 PM
LOL!
Satoshi has been gone for more than 2 decades now, and even back in 2018 most people didn't believe that it is the real creator who is posting on tweeter.
Satoshi wants anonymity so why would the creator of Bitcoin post on social media?
I think most of us already know why this accont has been created it is just for publicity.
451  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: September 14, 2023, 01:40:20 AM
For me consistency is my problem,
Yup I know why and where my money is draining or why I am having trouble saving up.
I could budget when I needed but when I have my salary or have my money on my hand I tend to spend more than I needed.
Don't get me wrong I am not addicted to anything or have some vices, it is just that I tend to buy more foods than what I really needed.
For example if I know that I have a tight budget till my next pay day or salary I would buy some food and cook it for my self to lessen the expenses and I would choose the cheapest frozen or process food, but when I have money I tend to order up and buy the foods and buy whatever I want to eat without hesitation or looking at it's price.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: August 30, 2023, 05:35:45 PM
If someone told you a guaranteed sports bet that had a 100% chance of winning, how much would you bet on it?

If you had a $10,000 bankroll, would you go all in? We’re talking 100% can’t lose bet.

Would you take out a loan? How would you go about acquiring a large sum of money if you didn’t have the capital.

Let’s say the match is starting 24 hours from now, what would be your plan to maximize your profit?

Asking for a friend  Wink
If it is a 100% chance then why wouldn't I go all in on it?
But we all know that there is no such thing as 100% sure win in gambling, even those who have a small chance or what we call underdogs could win.
So if someone would tell me that there is a 100% chance to win in a bet or gambling I would just ignore it.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime on: August 17, 2023, 12:20:19 PM
I agree that Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime, it is just being used for it.
I just don't understand why other's would be branded as criminal when they use Bitcoin or crypto even though they haven't done anything illegal.
Yes crypto are being used by criminals but not everyone is using it for illegal purpose.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 15, 2023, 09:41:50 PM
I only experience this when I was in my teenage days, back then the local internet cafe that I used to play or hang out was the main shop that the locals would go to play and have some bets on their games.
Back then I know the players who would have a match so I know how good they were compared to their enemy team so I am sure that they would win, so I borrowed a small amount of money from my friends and bet on that team to earn and the result was actually how I expect it to be.
But other than that I haven't tried to do it again, I would only borrow to invest or gamble if I am sure of that I would succeed.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would We Pay Taxes When We Don't Exchange Bitcoin for Fiat Anymore? on: August 12, 2023, 08:41:06 PM
In every crypto transaction that we make we are paying transaction fee in order for our transaction to be successful for me it is already considered as tax.
And I don't really understand how would they or the government would tax the people earning in crypto if they don't even know who or how much they are earning if the person wouldn't present it to them?
There are so many ways to hide our asset and I think most of us are well aware of it, and it isn't happening just in crypto this has been on for so long.
So this just proves that if they really want to avoid the tax they would find ways to do it, not just in crypto but also in other assets as well.
456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A advise to my friend about his decision on: August 10, 2023, 09:39:15 PM
Your friend doesn’t need a personal tutor. Nowadays, everything is available on the internet. If your friend had shown some effort to learn about the coins, he could have learned about them in a shorter period of time. I am still wondering how your friend isn’t aware of Bitcoins, whereas his father was (assuming he was old). Nevertheless, if you want to make him understand Bitcoins, then do a basic introduction, like why to choose Bitcoins and its advantages over the banking system. The rest regarding how to create a wallet and secure the coins can be easily found on YouTube.
Yes I agree with this they could self study if they want to, but we also have to accept that some people tend to learn quicker when they have someone who would clearly teach them about the things that they want to know.
Self studying is good but there are times that having other people to teach you could actually be a lot easier.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can Bitcoin provide food for our table on: August 08, 2023, 02:20:22 AM
Yes Bitcoin could put food on the table but it depends on our own skills on how much we could make.
There are some who are successful crypto earners and that doesn't mean that everyone could make it like them.
Earning requires skills and knowledge and it isn't just in crypto but in everything as well (Business and working).
458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: July 26, 2023, 05:19:53 PM
Trading perfect job for jobless people?
Yes trading could let you earn on your own time when you want, but how about the capital if they missed out or lose then it is the end for them since they don't have any other source of income.
I don't think that they could really survive with just trading, just think about their daily expenses where would they get it?
459  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can gambling and crypto trading be considered as skills with $10k gain a month? on: July 24, 2023, 11:39:13 PM
These skills listed, come with a guarantee to yield at least $10k/month profit in 2023 right now:
•SEO/SEM
•Design/UX
•Tik Tok ads
•Storytelling
•Copywriting
•Ghostwriting
• Email Marketing
• Social Media Management
~Snip~
The skills that you've mention could let you earn but that doesn't guarantee that much, there are some who got those skills but they aren't earning as much as you've said so having those skills doesn't really guarantee that you'll earn that amount.
• Can  gambling or crypto trading/crypto investment be considered as a skill?
For me trading and gambling required a lot of skills in order to be successful in that field so why shouldn't they be considered as a skill?
We also call some of the successful people on those field as a professional so I don't see why it shouldn't be considered as one?
• Can a gambler or crypto trader/crypto investor earn as much as $10k in a month besides any of the aforementioned skills?
In order for a gambler or trader to earn that much monthly you need to also be clear about the capital that we are talking here cause earning $10K a month could really be easy for those who have a huge capital, if their playing or trading with a huge amount then they only need to have a small percentage in order to get that $10K.
• is it even okay to classify being a bitcoiner/signature/campaign member as a skill? If yes, under what skill bracket can it be included?
Bitcoiner/Signature/Campaign members could be considered as a skill, we are communicating when we answer or reply to other users, some are even telling stories and it is a skill that you've mention that would guarantee a $10K per month.
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Farmer's Bitcoin Investment on: July 24, 2023, 01:09:25 AM
First of I hope that every one of those farmer knows the risk of the investment that they would take.
This is how people got screwed before, they would jump in base on someone else successful story not knowing the risk that the person took on his investment.
It is true that those successful stories are truly inspiring for us to invest just imagine how their life change because of crypto, but we also need to face reality that it isn't a quick rich investment and there are ups and downs, maybe some of those stories are just on luck that they got in on the right time.
We need to be aware that this is an investment and we could also lose just like most off the investor here.
