Almost the same way Steph Curry fumbled the ball on the last possession against the Sacramento Kings with a chance to win the game, Devin Booker did the same tonight as he lost the ball at the last possession of the Phoenix Suns against the Indiana Pacers. Also, that's one heck of a defense from Aaron Nesmith, he made sure that he would try to challenge the last shot of Booker even though there was not enough time.
I thought they would give it to KD but Booker was so hot with 62 points. Still, thumbs up to Coach Rick Carlisle, he called one more timeout because he tried to compose his players, they may have also predicted that it would be passed to Booker.
Obi Toppin made the winning shot, a lucky rebound, the ball fell right in front of him.  Cheesy
That ended the 7 winning streak of the Phoenix Suns. Good job for the young Pacers team even without Haliburton.

The Mavs versus Hawks in this rivalry week was also entertaining especially to those who like watching offensive battles.
Luka Doncic with 73 points, Wow!  Shocked 41 1st half points.
After a bad defeat against their rival Phoenix Suns, he poured everything against the other rival Hawks.
Embiid, Luka, and Booker.
Are we even playing defense? Cheesy Well, it sure is entertaining for the new kind of NBA and I bet the Hawks fans are stunned with what happened.

luca doncic fantastic performance is able to score more than 70 points. maybe if you play in the right team doncic will easily win the NBA. for example boston celtic or buck. currently it may be one of the candidates to win the regular MVP. but if you bring dalas maverick to become a champion I think it's still difficult, maverick's squad is still not competitive to be able to become a champion

Mavs got a long way to go to become a top team.  I like kyrie's game a lot but not sure if the Luka/kyrie pairing is the best.  With Luka being ball dominant I think a top tier power forward or center is what the team needs.  The kid lively looks good but being a rookie he will need some time.  Not sure what direction they go but they should be in a win now mode with Luka playing at his peak.

Crazy games last night.  Another huge loss from Toronto.  Starting to look more amd more like the Knicks won that OG trade.  Big game on national television today between the Knicks and Heat.  Might be a good playoff preview.  Can't wait to see OG on Jimmy and see him lock him up.  Knicks 11-2 since OG joined quietly beating Minnesota, sixers by 30, Denver by 30+ while holding them to under 90 points.  This is another good test for them looking forward to it.
On paper this looks like another win by the Knicks. However, I believe the Heat will make all necessary adjustment to get this job done so they would stop the bleeding as they are on a 5 losing sterak now. The Heat hasn't been winning games as usual since Jimmy return and Terry Rozier hasn't been playing as expected since he joined the heat. I'm guessing this could be the night for them to make that happen by betting the hot streaking New York Knicks on the road.

I thought this would happen, but I don't see his name on the list playing now, he could be a big help.

Miami Heat's Jaime Jaquez Expected To Return Saturday Against New York Knicks

a litte update.

I just tune in live, and he's (JJJ) playing.

The Knicks absolutely torched the heat.  Outside of going down early they pretty much held set until the fourth quarter when they just leaned into them.  Another great win and now 12-2 since the OG trade.  On the downside julius randle got hurt late and looks like he has a dislocated shoulder.  Not good since they've been rolling.  Time for OG to step up as the #2 guy.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Legitimacy of a new crypto project on: January 27, 2024, 05:33:26 PM
All of that could be faked easily and most of the times it is.  Easy enough to just stay away from new coins and see how projects turn out then get involved after they show some tangible results.  I know everyone wants a get rich quick coin to jump on but most likely you will just end up losing money.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple looking for ETF, would it be the second one? on: January 27, 2024, 05:31:12 PM
I've seen interest in an ethereum etf as well.  I think they are gonna slow roll any new etfs with altcoins.  Because they are so volatile I think they will wait to see how these bitcoin ones do first.  Getting a bitcoin one took years I can see the same trajectory to get other coins passed through SEC regulations.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 27, 2024, 05:25:17 PM
It's always good to book profits.  The only "end" when ypu are a gambler is when ypu lose it all.  Every once in a while ypu need to book profits and start with a new bankroll.  Otherwise it's constant losing but just a difference in time in how much and when you lose.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 27, 2024, 05:21:11 PM
Today I'm on 2 games.  Taking the Knicks-4.5 and going to tease that up to -8.5 too.  I think Knicks win by 10 easily.  Also I'm on the Nuggets-3.5 and taking embid over 40+ points.  You know he wants to put in a statement game against jokic.  I expect no less than 30 shot attempts.  But in the end Denver is a better all around time.

448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO in 2017-2018 left the strongest impression on you? on: January 26, 2024, 11:32:17 PM
None.  Seriously I think the start of ICOs and having people pay up front just brought in a ton of scammers and gave them a platform.  All you had to do was have enough people who could be good and long enough and it could net you millions.  It's a disease that hasn't gone away yet.  None of them are fair and are only designed to enrich a small few.  I stayed clear of every one of them

Results:
Washington Wizards - Utah Jazz - Utah Jazz (-5.5) - Won!
Indiana Pacers - Philadelphia 76ers - Philadelphia 76ers (-3.5) - Lost! Embiid cannot carry them against the Pacers. He needs Harris.
Brooklyn Nets - Minnesota Timberwolves - Minnesota Timberwolves (-1.5) - Win! Just the exact spread. Wink
New York Knicks - Denver Nuggets - Denver Nuggets (-1.5) - Lost! Bad day for the Nuggets. Early rest for them as it became a blowout.
Miami Heat - Boston Celtics - Boston Celtics (-5.5) - Won! I was right, the Heat is playing at their worst in their last 5 games. That's now their 5th losing streak.

Later 8 games.
Here are my picks.

Indiana Pacers - Phoenix Suns - Phoenix Suns (-2.5) - Pacers might be playing great even without Haliburton but this is the Suns team who just blew out Dallas Mavericks through their scary offensive power.
Charlotte Hornets - Houston Rockets - Houston Rockets (-3.5) - Jabari Smith is questionable to play.
Atlanta Hawks - Dallas Mavericks - Dallas Mavericks ML @2.00 - Rival game. I guess the spreads tell us that Trae Young will play. It will be a fun game.
Toronto Raptors - Los Angeles Clippers - Los Angeles Clippers (-5.5) - Clippers are just too hot right now. Paul George is questionable to play but they still have a lot of weapons to win this match.
New Orleans Pelicans - Oklahoma City Thunder - New Orleans Pelicans (-1.5) - Zion Williamson is questionable to play.

Good luck everyone and have fun!

I like everyone of these bets except the Charlotte game.  I got Charlotte to take that one down.  And I'm not laying on the okc and Pelicans game.  That can go either way.  If I was gonna bet that game I'd probably just bet the over under.  The lock of the night I have the Clippers.  It's a tough road game but they are just too strong and I think the Raptors are figuring out theor rotations right now.  I can see that being a blow out.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 26, 2024, 11:24:48 PM

Eastern Conference starters
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Joel Embiid
Jayson Tatum
Tyrese Haliburton
Damian Lillard

Western Conference starters
LeBron James
Kevin Durant
Nikola Jokic
Luka Doncic
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Finally, 2024 NBA All-Star starters announced. Almost all players are expected picks except maybe Lillard-Brunson. Trae Young fan rank was also too high but media and players didn't pick him that high. I think fan votes should have higher weight for starters. The game is played for fans in the end.

I know the players appreciate being voted by their peers. Durant tweeted as much earlier today. I’m sure they appreciate the fan vote too. They don’t seem too thrilled about the media though. Most of these guys have developed a bit of a hateful relationship with the reporters covering their teams.

Exactly, that is why they need to change the weight of the voting favoring the fans more than the weight from the media and peer votes. Just like what @EFS said, it's a game dedicated for the fans to enjoy seeing their favorite players participate in the allstar weekend. I don't know what happened with the "business" in this case lol.

On the other hand, the Lakers-Bulls game have just concluded a couple of hours ago and It's interesting to see DLo continuing to do better after the trade rumor drama surrounding the Lakers lately. He has been averaging more than 25ppg, 5+apg, and shooting more than 50% from the field in the last 5 games. Not to mention he's been shooting lights out against the Bulls tonight. It kind of excites me how the Lakers management react to this, but I could only come up with 2 possible scenarios here regarding DLo's most recent performance, he's either stay with the Lakers considering he'd be more consistent moving forward or he'd just increase his trade value for the Lakers to land a better trade pair for the likes of Trae Young or Donovan Mitchell.

There's not a world that dlo would land anywhere close to a Trae or Donovan.  Either one of those 2 would require a ton of first round picks.  Lakers I think can only trade theor 2029 first round pick which isn't worth much.  If those 2 are on the trade block (which they arent) there would be a ton of other teams that could offer way more than the Lakers could.  They are in a bad position right now.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The "loaded slots" scam on: January 26, 2024, 11:22:14 PM
Paying anyone for a tip on what to bet is ALWAYS a scam.  If the person really knew then why wouldn't they just do it themselves.  Paying someone for slot tips is wild.  Slots are random and known to have some pretty bad odds.  People play them for entertainment then fine but trying to beat the house on slots is not gonna end well.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 26, 2024, 11:20:05 PM
Addiction to gambling is not a problem for some gamblers because there are some gamblers who are addicted to gambling, but it doesn't affect the other activities of their life. They take care of their families, wear good clothes, smell nice, meet up with appointments but still cannot control the urge to gamble. It doesn't affect their life because they can afford to gamble and manage the loses they make. So, to these people addiction is not a problem. They are addicts, but because they are successful, their addiction is ignored or excused as it is not a problem.
So I am need to know, is addiction only bad when it is a problem?

I mean depending on the addiction right.  If you are addicted to reading books and you enjoy it and can live without doing other things to read than all good.  But in terms of gambling yeah addiction is bad even though it's not a problem.  Because it's not a problem doesn't mean it won't lead to problems in the future.  Best to enjoy gambling as a past time whenever it fits into your budget and schedule.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SatoshiVM team allegation/ potential selling team tokens on: January 25, 2024, 10:36:53 PM
Whenever I see a coin utilizing zing words like bitcoin, Satoshi, etc and attache them to theor coin its typically destined to fail.  If it were a serious project why would they need to use some other successful name to prove theor worth?  That's like opening a new auction site and naming it ebaygold.com or something dumb like that.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How fast can one achieve Crypto millionaire status with meme coin? on: January 25, 2024, 10:33:41 PM
Interestingly, Meme coins are becoming more and more popular with significant indicators of the bull market. They're a cool type of cryptocurrency that combines internet memes inspired by popular memes and cultural trends. With the advanced technology like the Solana blockchain, these coins brings people together who are excited about and hold such tokens. While Meme coins are very risky, investors are excited to throw in their funds and if you ask them, they'll tell you that individuals who invest in meme coins before they become popular, it is possible for them to become wealthy or at least earn some money.

I read an analysis of Shiba Inu (SHIB) coin, which was launched in 2020. It was clear that purchasing $11.87 worth of SHIB at that time, an investor could have become a millionaire only one year and three months later because of its significant price increase. I need your opinion here, how fast can one achieve a millionaire status with meme coin? Asking because, after my analysis of the profit ratio of the likes of Shiba Inu, Pepe, Bonk etc, I am also on the look out for good meme coins to try out. The recent one I found and still considering is Dogwifhat WIF recently listed on Bitget, Raydium and other cex probably or what do you all think? Can we truly become Millionaires with meme coins?

That's like trying to buy beanie babies after they already had theor run and now they are cheap again.  They took off in 2020 because that was the fad then.  Most times history on fads don't repeat.  Amd then second there are now 9 zillion of these things most of which are all useless scams.  Let's just say more millions will be made than lost this go around.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: USA Super Bowl winner on: January 25, 2024, 10:31:10 PM
For me until someone knocks off the reigning Champs they are still the favorite for me.  Mahomes pretty much won the superbowl on one leg last year.  He seems to have that playoff magic.  Definately an uphill battle for him since they will.likely be underdogs in both games (banking on 49ers winning nfc).  Not that I want to see them win it but have to give credit where credit is due.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 25, 2024, 08:56:54 PM
What do you think @DireWolfM14, since these are your boys

I'm scared.  Not because I think the Lions are that good, but when the Niners suck they really, really suck.  Plus, I'm trying to not jinx anything by being overly confident.  Not to mention, Shanahan-coached teams have a history of chocking in big games.

Having said that, I tend to agree with your logic.  Assuming Deebo is ready, the line will go up.  And if the Niners show up the way they are expected to, I don't see the Lions causing us much trouble.

The 49ers will win, however, -7 points might be too much trust on Brock Purdy. But I am not an expert hehe.

But if I am asked which of these underdogs might bring the fans the upset, it might be the Chiefs, I reckon. Patrick Mahomes during a very importsnt game against a better team is the type of challenge that brings the very best out of this type of player.

In any case, for the superbowl I want the 49ers and the Ravens to win.

I agree, I just can't see the Lions being able to beat the Niners.  The Niners have the best RB in the game and then you've got Aiyuk and Deebo whom are two of the best WRs and of course Kittle being one of the best TEs.  Not to metion they've got a very solid defense.  Purdy aint too bad himself.

The Ravens Chiefs game is another story.  I could easily see that going either way, though I think the Ravens should win this one.  Going to be a fun weekend of games.

I wish the Chiefs Ravens game was on Fox so we could get it in "4k".

I'm going with the unpopular vote.  I'm betting on a cheofs and lions superbowl.  Think in the 49ers armor last week and lions are looking like they are on a mission.  Amon Ra with 130 yards amd 2 tds to shut up any doubters on his pro bowl sub.  Amd now that I said that here comes a Baltimore and 49ers superbowl 😂
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 25, 2024, 08:53:45 PM
Going back to the Dallas and Phoenix game, Luka was noticeably frustrated. This was evident on the court when he had a fan kicked out for telling him to get on a treadmill, but also after the game when being asked about it by the media. It’s nice to see Booker get a win over him. Luka has had his number the last few years.

The Dallas Mavericks aren't working well together. They need to focus on defense and rebounding instead of just relying on 3-point shooters. I think they need to take trades for players who can score and play defense. Depending on individual players like Luka, Lively or Maxi won't cut it. The team is slipping in the standings 8th in the West right now. Maybe it's time for changes for Dallas, including possibly switching up the coaching staff and making trades before the deadline just like Bucks did about hiring Doc River as their new Coach.

Luka is a great player but that is his downfall.  When he doesn't get the results he wants he gets easily frustrated.  That fan stuff happens all the time.  He was so worried that at a timeout he talked with security.  The fan won, Luka was off his game.  That happens all over the place.  If he had that kobe dog fight in him Luka would be the best player in the league.  But he gets too rattled.  Maybe with age that will go away.

https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2024/01/12/blackrock-ceo-larry-fink-backs-ether-etf/
"BlackRock CEO Larry Fink Backs Ether ETF
The asset management giant may now be looking to list an equivalent product for ether, the native token of the Ethereum blockchain, as part of its ongoing journey toward tokenization."

If BlackRock is interested, at this rate we could see it in a few quarters. Ethereum price could rise to $3,500

Price speculation in fiat for altcoins  for some maybe will happen a year from now (which honestly wouldn't happen that quick) is crazy.  Not saying it can't or won't happen but trying to pin a price on that is crazy.  I guess the next wave of fads is going to be etfs and if they are going to be available to the main stream.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 24, 2024, 11:48:43 PM
I still think ultimately for the good of the game of basketball he should pair up with Steph Curry for at least one season. I think that pairing would be like LeBron and Klay on steroids.
Well, that's probably his next move when things don't go with the way he wants it to be. Was it that there were talks about him wanting to transfer in GSW, right? at some point like less than a year ago. Anyway, I am not expecting to have some good things happening with Bucks with Doc's first games with them and that's normal if they get a few loss but I am not trying to be negative as I want to be.

There were talks about him going to Golden State but I think that was mostly fan talk.  However, I believe he still hasn't signed an extension to his contract so I think after this year (or is it next?) he can decide to go wherever he wants.  In my opinion he needs to go somewhere with good defense and shooting.  That to me screams Golden State, but they'd need to hold on to Klay (is he still playing good defense) and Wiggins for their defensive abilities and shooting.  Draymond would be as good as gone.  I don't think it would really matter though.  Steph and Giannis would be a combination that would be impossible for any team to stop.  I think it would be more effective than Shaq and Kobe.  Shocked

Golden state doesn't need lebron, they need more young fresh legs on the team.  Pairing old stars together always fails.  Just because of theor age it's always likely that one or two guys are always out or they get ran off the court by a younger more athletic team.  Also all the bench players feel like they just need to feed the stars holding back what they can offer a team.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you preffer your dealer talkative or not? on: January 24, 2024, 11:16:23 PM
Whenever there is silence in gambling it makes me feel like I'm addicted to it.  I gamble for fun and to be entertained so there is a social aspect to it for me.  I like when dealers are fun because it livens up the table and then the other people around loosen up.  Tight tables I usually walk away from rather quickly.
