461  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it always about price? on: April 21, 2022, 06:30:33 PM
For 90% crypto investors,  it is all about price, many of them hardly even read what the project is all about (the fundamentals) and how relevant it will be in blockchain, it is rather when 'Moon'.   If after 3 months there is no serious price movement, the project appears to be dead in their own eyes Grin

Just yesterday I saw a post on Near Protocol telegram unofficial group - a member posted "Near Looks Dead" because the price is not moving according to how he want it, this is the perception of the majority.
Many investors judge projects base on the price performance and hardly about the tech, which is not supposed to be.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk makes offer to buy Twitter on: April 21, 2022, 06:19:48 PM
I don't trust Elon, he is a smart and mischievous person who has the financial power to achieve anything he desires. He feels being a shareholder does not give him the power to control and manipulate so he offers to buy it off the owner.
I can already imagine what twitter will be like when Elon happens to be the new owner, Dogecoin will be heavily promoted through that platform, he will change everything. I hope the twitter ceo will be smart enough to decline.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Defi and NFTs will be the most important elements in the cryptospace on: April 20, 2022, 07:57:24 AM
The idea of decentralized finance may be good and very promising, but the prevailing question until today is that which particular decentralized platform in the whole wide defi space is truly decentralized? It is easy to claim decentralization, but upon investigated very closely, will there be any single defi project that is really decentralized?

The idea of decentralization is that there won't be any single point of failure. Looking closely at defi projects, could we give at least a single defi project that doesn't have a single point of failure?

The whole crypto space is full of flaws, btc has a lot of it and people hold it in high esteem. for now there is nothing that is 100% right as far as crypto and defi is concerned but it is a work in progress, the space is young compare to the traditional finance, even that is not 100%.
of course you can't get a complete decentralize finance especially not when government regulations are breathing down your neck but there will be a level of decentralization that allows individuals to have certain control over their assets unlike the traditional way. Failure gives room for perfection
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the hate on XRP on: April 20, 2022, 07:45:21 AM
Why do people hate Ripple so much? The moment you made mention of this project they will instantly have a wicked laugh 😅 about it, like this project is just some joke, but how come its still a top altcoin if its that bad? How come such a project even win a war with SEC? I am curious, is there something thats not adding up here?

Beside the already known accusation of xrp being a centralize project working with banks (something that is the opposite of true crypto) and not very transparent with the overall conduct of the project I don't think am aware of any other season why people hate the project just by mentioning the name.
I don't understand it as well, because I also never invested in this project base on this community dislike, xrp is not only the centralize project in the space but for some reason best known to the crypto community, it is the most hate.
465  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Project - Power Cash (PRCH) on: April 18, 2022, 07:10:42 PM
Sorry to say, but seriously! Out of the thousands of projects on the market you choose to invest on power cash. Now you can understand why they say always do research before investing.
Stop buying all this shitcoins in the hope to make millions out of it some day, it would have been better buying shiba inu  Roll Eyes

466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safest browser for Metamask ? on: April 18, 2022, 07:02:18 PM
I plan to store most of my Altcoins in MetaMask by the way, that's why I need to be super careful. Yes i've looked into Exodus, Trezor and Ledger wallets, none of them support my coins, even Ellipal. Yes they do support "some" of my coins, but WTF do I do with "some" ? I need ALL my coins to be supported ! So MetaMask the only choice left I'm afraid.

I like it when I can have all my coins in one wallet, it makes the whole idea to hodl much easier and yes metamask does the job perfectly. As for safest browser I can suggest chrome mainly because the metamask extension for chrome is directly from metamask I think but that of Firefox is from third party, am not sure how secure the chrome browser itself is, I should think it is pretty secure given it is a child of Google.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins or CBDCs? on: April 17, 2022, 11:32:44 AM
Stablecoins are not in the control of government but cbdc is, we all know government are not very friendly with what they don't have a total control of. On the other hand, I think cbdc will be quickly adopted and be successful over stablecoins, why, it is government approved unlike Stablecoins, most organisations, wealthy individuals and even none wealthy ones will prefer using cbdc than Stablecoins because it is official and government approved.
Same reason why crypto adoption is stalling, most people are more comfortable with anything 'governments approved'.
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting an NFT just got easy, didn't it? on: April 17, 2022, 11:07:19 AM
I don't know what nft buyers really look out for when they buy their nft but I want to believe investors won't just buy any random nft just because it was listed on opensea. At least those nft should have a project with an actual team behind it. If not, what value will a bot generates nft have!
So using bot to generate worthless nft with the hope that people will buy is pointless and if people actually buy them, well that's a terrible mistake on the part of the buyer.
469  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. life expectancy falls for 2nd year in a row on: April 16, 2022, 07:01:39 PM
The Americans eat lots of junk food and don't they don't have a healthy lifestyle.
USA has the most obese nation in the world.
The US healthcare system is shit. Many poor people don't have any access to healthcare in the USA.
Many people in the USA refused to get vaccinated and to wear masks during the pandemic.
What else would you expect from all these factors?
Bitcoin/crypto has nothing to do with the US healthcare system and the people's lifestyle.
There's no way Bitcoin could help for increasing the life expectancy in the USA or anywhere else in the world.

Couldn't agree more, I heard that covid affects people with low immune system quickly and if you have a weak immune system your body can not fight the virus as it should (am not sure how authentic the info is but it was greatly emphasise upon to boost our immune system)
Which brings us to the healthy lifestyle living, those who don't lead a healthy lifestyle where vulnerable to covid-19.
I don't think btc will or have anything to do with life expectancy and the way people live. You can live a long and healthy life without owning any btc. It depends on individual and how they maintain a healthy lifestyle.
470  Economy / Economics / Re: All that printed money year 2021 where it is ? on: April 16, 2022, 06:39:27 PM
You are making an allegation that is not backed by some prove. You have to substantiate this that you have said that money is locked in USDT. Don't always rely on making post that you don't provide real research and information. USDT is pegged based on dollar rate and US is yet not given the information of locking printed fiat into USDT except you know better then you can give more light.

@op has a lot of imagination which he usually post, if you check his post history you will understand my point.
Despite the high inflation rate I don't think what @op is imagining will ever happen. I don't know how you expect crypto to do bull run where the fiat becomes scarce? Sometimes most of @op most always just meaningless.

Speaking of identity thieves, kindly crawl under a rock and stay there, you sack of shit.  No one is buying your impersonation attempt.

Lol, savage response to a misguided self-proclaimed satoshi impersonator. Same shit he
posted here. Wiredo  Grin

If you think that you are totally safe in the online environment, you are wrong.

A person who uses hot or cold wallets is someone who has not yet been cracked into their smartphone or their home operating system by taking advantage of a metasploit hack, has not lost the hard drive or the device where the password is stored, has not yet received it. damaged, or not yet stolen.
Nobody guarantees 100% safety whether using any form of wallet because anything can happen which you already mentioned. What is important is you the investor understand the risk involved and prepare to accept whatever is the outcome.
I understand it is a bad experience and you want a solution but you have to understand it is a decentralized space hence all the regulations you mentioned can not be applied by coinbase, if you want a regulated platform you should trade with centralized exchanges like Binance where even if they experience any form of hack they guarantees safety of investors funds. I hope you can recover your lost funds somehow.

You are not the only one to have their funds stolen or got scammed, reason why it is important to not invest more than you can handle.

473  Economy / Economics / Re: As im professional economics and specially instutional money and wall street mov on: April 15, 2022, 03:55:08 AM
I am seeing your post much frequently in this section and others full of complaints about government and bad economy.
You said you know a lot about the economy because you have come in contact with central banks info (I wonder how many of the central banks info you have read) if that's the case, maybe you should consider becoming a politician in your country, right all the wrong of your country's economy.

But what surprised me is the sweden havent had crash of economics

If Sweden economy haven't crash as you expected is because the government is printing money as you already pointed out. They are all printing money (same thing you said from your other post) Smiley
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: April 13, 2022, 02:25:41 PM
Government suppression plays a big role in this as well.
Several times governments of different countries will declare a ban on crypto, prohibit the citizens from associating with it, sometimes declare legal action against who stubbornly do.

These type of action from the government is causing fear among many people, some people like to play by th book, they don't want any government legal action on them so they stay away. Take countries with low income for instance, most of them will not like to accept btc for their businesses because it is not government approved. Nobody wants to risk the little income they earn for a currency that is not generally accepted.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now we know:we (BTC/etc guys) are Machiavellian psychopaths with an inflated ego on: April 13, 2022, 01:42:15 PM
I used to think that people at universities were doing some serious things, but I'm starting to believe that there are a lot of rotten apples in that system, and as a result, there are even more rotten apples coming out of the system in the form of so-called highly educated people.

Am laughing so hard with tears in my eyes,  Grin
Don't rule out all universities to produce nothing but rotten apples am sure there are many good apples among the rotten ones, it so happen that the rotten apples among the good ones came up with a nasty research to psychoanalyse crypto users, what a load of crap.
They are trying to tag bitcoin to human behaviour, more like when they see someone behaving in a particular way they will like ask 'is he a bitcoin user'  Cheesy. Impressive.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin continue to have the same effect on alts? on: April 12, 2022, 01:20:30 PM
For now btc price movement has a great influence on that of alts a lot, simply because the alts are mostly pegged to btc perhaps, but so far this is how it has been and may probably will be in years to come until there is some changes where alts can perform independently from btc (am not sure if it will be possible).
Right now even alts like eth, bnb with strong utility and great demand are also affected by btc price movement, it would have been that btc price performance does not affect these coins since there is a great demand for them, but this has not been the case.
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scams now the second largest in the world on: April 12, 2022, 01:03:18 PM
I've been involved in a lot of projects that turns out to be scams, or the dev rugs. But still consider myself lucky because I don't invest too much money on projects that are quite suspicious.

That is the number one thing every investor should take into account, don't get carried away with the project to put all your savings, it is important to invest only what we can afford to lose, especially on new project.

...And I've witnessed also hundreds of people lost large amounts of money in the crypto space. And now seeing crypto being the second largest source of scams is as I expected. And it cannot be stop and will never be stop. Few projects already tried to provide platforms to detect scams, provide safe projects for investors yet not all of them are hundred percent effective. Scammer developers keeps on finding ways to crack the system. Our only option is just to get used to it and be wise with our investments.

Unfortunately some people invest in this new project blindly without doing the necessary research or watch to see how the project will progress before putting a huge sum of money.
Some people comfortably invest in project even if the team are anonymous (never compare btc with alts) just because satoshi is unknown and btc was successful some project will capitalize on that and some naive investors will fall for it.
In my opinion, every alts projects team should be properly doxxed to give certain level of credibility, a project whose team are anonymous should not have more than %10 of your investment. It is very likely they will disappear with investors money since they are not known.
Scam can not be stopped but can be minimize if only people can be very observant and stop being so desperate to make quick money.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help a newbie choose a better stable coin on: April 11, 2022, 06:16:43 PM
Between usdt and busd, I will suggest busd, binance may be centralized but it is a known brand worldwide that has the trust of majority, has a strong and solid foundation unlike usdt that is surrounded by controversial information.
If you want a more decentralized stablecoin, dai from MakerDao Multi-Collateral Dai (MCD) system is mostly recommended by many, you can take a look at it.
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEFI projects, RSK Blockchain. on: April 11, 2022, 05:19:22 PM
Are you RSK supporter? i have seen someone else was creating almost similar thread like this and that's quite clear that if RSK blockchain will come to its dead. It has a very small demands and investing in the defi that based on the RSK blockchain was a very big mistake that will be made by you. All of defi on RSK that you have mentioned above already become failed project. The price dumped so hard and there are no people use it anymore. You can also see from the liquidiuty and the daily trade volume. So investing in the RSK defi will be only wasting your money, your time and your chance to make money through another blockchain. That's why i called this side chain of bitcoin as a failed side chain for sure. Stack was better from the various aspects.

You are right,  I think they are just here to shill the rsk blockchain but unfortunately they are doing a poor job, if you notice the accounts are mostly newbies or brand new creating related topic about rsk.
I don't see how this can help the network because not very many forum members are using or interested in RSK.
It is better the rsk team do massive marking about the blockchain to create awareness for their project. Using different accounts to create topic about rsk will not bring any positive result.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if she receives Bitcoin as gift on: April 10, 2022, 10:27:53 AM
I know what you mean by rewarding some Bitcoins. But give the person what they really want. Not that I'm forbidding you to give away bitcoins, but that kind of adoption still isn't quite right.
Actually I think it is right to gift btc to family and loved ones if we want to increase the awareness and acceptance, little steps can make a big difference.

Maybe next time to give bitcoins, I don't think it's the birthday person's wish but the ambition of you who just fell in love with bitcoin. That's fine, but you also need to be able to tell the difference between adoption and not.

What if they actually sold it for money? is it effective as adoption?
How would you know they won't like it if you don't give it in the first place? You can't know what people's reaction will be towards something new unless you give them access to either like or don't like.
Even if they didn't hold and sell for fiat there is no big deal, the important thing is the awareness.
