461  Economy / Securities / Re: Joshua Mutual Gold Fund on: January 08, 2018, 04:46:58 AM
ubheirted it. Taking it off the shelf. Questions? E-mail robert_hill@joshuamutualgoldfund,com

The earlier you start to give answers to peoples response about your mutual fund rather than directing them to email your address the earlier people start taking you serious because from the look of it, it seems you are the only person in this mutual fund because in one of your threads you claim to be looking for board of directors for a 100 year old mutual fund? This is beginning to sound like what we all know is common around this section of the Internet.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did Ethereum reach it's peak? on: January 03, 2018, 01:56:33 PM
Ethereum will keep rise as long as there are smart contracts developed based on theyre blockchain. We can still see a lot of projects developed based on this blockchain but also a increasing number of stand alone projects. It is still a project that apeals with investors and i dont believe we have seen the moon with it. It has potential of 5000 $ in the next two years but this only depends on it`s developers if they keep improving it.
With eth it is a safe investment but i dont see a interesting movement in the next short future.

I agree with this completely. There is no end in sight for a workable project like ETH that have gone beyond the expectation of many and was able to survive this long in the crypto world. So far the crypto world is still existing, then ETH potentials is still bright. A lot of ICO tokens still relies on it while a lot more are still going to be released. This is what ensure the continued popularity of ETH but that does not exclude the normal ups and down that is common in the crypto world because that is one thing that give solid base to any coin.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If anyone "replaces" BTC it should be Raiblocks not Bitcoin Cash on: January 03, 2018, 11:26:03 AM
Times without number we are faced with several coins trying to replace bitcoin but unfortunately, they are oly living in their own imagination because the fight is being shared by the already established coins and even the ones that will be launched today or tomorrow and this in fighting will only continue to establish the continued dominance of bitcoin. However, each coin should only focus on its own market promote it and hopefully achieve its own objective rather than setting out with the primary purpose of dislodging bitcoin.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why dont miners just take 50% as fee? on: January 03, 2018, 11:22:17 AM
why they charge 50$ on 125$ worth of bitcoin

and 50$ charge on 20,000$ worth of bitcoin

is because rich look after the rich, always have always will

The matter is that will you be willing to pay that much for fees. Its really not fair to pay the same amount as fee irrespective of what you are transferring because I have noticed that the complain about the high fees is not about people transferring high amount worth of Btc but for the individuals transferring the lower amount. My suggestion would be that there should be a certain percentage fixed on any amount to be transferred with that, everyone would know before hand the amount of fees I will for carrying out this particular transaction.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will a coin issued based on calories spent by human make sense? on: January 03, 2018, 07:48:28 AM
Hi Coin Experts,

I am thinking of coming up with a mine-able crypto-currency "Calorie Coin" based on calories spent by human beings

People can spend calories for jobs and get rewarded with these coins.

This will remove the greed factor and there will be no way to manipulate this currency by pumping and dumping.

Please provide your valuable suggestions.

Whether its call sand, air, water or even rock, it does not change the fact that its a coin and would be treated accordingly. The moment a coin is launched and the majority is out there in the hands of users, you cannot control what is being used for the moment you can do that, then its a centralized coin which the community does not favourably dispose towards. All I can say is to plan it in such a way that the available coin is spread adequately to the point where no single individual can control it.
466  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Account Hacked?! on: January 02, 2018, 10:09:03 PM
Thanks for all the replies guys.

I really am stumped because my phone is also connected to my email so even if a hacker could get into my email account to delete any incoming messages, I would of got a ping to notify me that someone had logged in with a new IP.

I've gone through all of my emails, nothing, I just can't figure it out. I am going to try and contact Bittrex and see what they say. I was using someone else's internet as I was round a friends house on Boxing day and stayed the night, but even then I'm struggling to put the pieces together.

It's really just a very odd situation.

Contacting them is still your best option at this time because a lot of suggestions I have read are kind of generic and more of guessing what could have happen because from the look of it, you have probably done everything humanly possible to keep your account safe from you end and if this is happening the only person that can provide explanation is the other party which in this case is Bittrex. Reach out and see what they are up to in explaining what really went down.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9000 Bitcoins in this wallet. on: January 02, 2018, 08:58:48 PM
one guy lost 9000 btc in 2010 the btc are still sitting there https://blockchain.info/address/167ZWTT8n6s4ya8cGjqNNQjDwDGY31vmHg

-Crypto Piece

I don't understand how much time you have gotten that the only thing you could invest your time into are wallets that contains huge amount of bitcoin which unfortunately you can neither spend have access to just a form of wish that cannot come into fulfillment. I wonder what you would do if you have access to Satoshi's wallet that have been widely circulated to have about 1million bitcoins.
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VERGE what is happening on: January 02, 2018, 08:24:38 PM
I got some Verge a few weeks ago when mr Macphee made the announcement and value went up. made some profit. now it is just hovering around going no where. and some controversy on it now.
suggestions and thoughts?
get rid of VERGE? keep it?

what is rest of you all doing?

This are the issues that happens when you rely on someone opinion to make an investment decision which you have to part with your own money but unfortunately the person you rely upon does not care whether you made profit or its stagnant. The secret to all this reliance which is more of pump and dump, is not to wait to make the maximum profit. Just the little profit, try as much as possible to be contended with the little profit margin and bolt early or else you would realise you are among the last men standing.
469  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Trading! on: January 02, 2018, 04:49:23 PM
I am a beginner in the field of bitcoin trading, want to know whether success in trading depends more on experience or on skills.

Experience and skills is the same thing if only they are relevant. You cannot have experience in a matter or a particular field and not being skillful in that field. The same way in trading you can be skilled in it and not have experience what you should now focus on, is how do you get the skills and coming to the forum is the right step in achieving such objective. What you need to do is simple be ready to read as there are several threads that have been created for same purpose. Read and digest and in no distance time, you are skillful.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SegWit2X] Together we will see a business through. on: January 02, 2018, 04:43:51 PM
I am sure a lot of people are really not interested in the success of failure of this project but what they can sell and get in value from the disposal of such on an exchange site and that is why someone up there is only concerned about why the value is dropping real bad and even how much it will be by the time he is able to claim his own SegWit. All I wish is for this to find a way to be incorporated into bitcoin so they promote this same objective.
471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Burn? on: January 02, 2018, 01:51:00 PM
Hi,
What happens with coin burning?  Im guessing it will decrease the total available but not sure

I read this could be happening with TRX (Tronix)

Could this push its value up?

Coin burning should not be interpreted literally as that is not what its being discussed. In the case of burning just like when a company is raising an IPO and its under subscribed, its the function of the underwriter of such IPO to augment for the balance but in the case of ICO, there is no room for that happening so the remaining balance is cancelled so that the only coins available are those that have been fully paid for and would enjoy the distribution of profit in case of any.
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRE-ICO] Graft - credit card and crypto payment processing network on: January 02, 2018, 01:30:35 PM
Good afternoon, everybody! Does anyone know if it will be possible to withdraw your income from Graft to a bank debit card?

I think this has been answered in the Op but the timeline that it will be achieved is what you have to look out for because it might not come as early as you expected. Again, you also need to consider the fact that if you are not an EU citizen, it might not really matter for you whether its going to be implemented or not because its going to be beyond the Graft team to extend that facility to you.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great News For Bitcoin! Lightening Network First Payment Was Successful! on: January 02, 2018, 12:29:13 PM
That's positive news, but still not enough to cheer the market back up. I don't want to sound negative but even when Lightening Network is fully implemented, it'll be too late for bitcoin to win all the investors who already moved to support new cryptos. New cryptos are implementing features that are missing from bitcoin such as anonymity and private transactions. Bitcoin is already outdated. I'm not saying that bitcoin will die. I'm sure bitcoin will stay forever however, it'll slow down gradually until another coin takes its place as the main crypto-currency.

I think this is an overestimation of how quickly people are willing to switch from one technology or investment to another. If LN fails to deliver or takes another 2-3 years for deployment, then we're likely to see a major shift in userbase. But not after 1 year of scaling issues after a track record of running flawlessly for 9 years. Additionally few people seem to care about true anonymity, that is assuming the current anonymity approaches are viable and solid in the first place.

[...]

For example, can you conceive of a layer on top of bitcoin in which fully anonymous transactions were possible? There'd be a point of exit from the blockchain and a point of entry back to it, and that's all the info that would be available.

[...]

Actually that's pretty much what LN is doing. LN transactions are only visible to the involved parties, the nodes inbetween know nothing about the transactions they route. I'm not sure whether LN can provide full anonymity but it definitely will improve privacy.

When I read the news I was equally happy and waiting it should be something not too difficult to be rolled out to many or maybe some explanations is needed on it. The way this upgrade are done, I expect that it should be updated into the system automatically just like when you update an app on google play store rather than all this process that you are trying to explain. If this is anything to go by, it then means that the time to enjoy the benefit of this laudable achievement is not close by.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance dropping hard on: January 02, 2018, 11:01:38 AM
I wonder why this topic is not discussed more. The bitcoin dominance compared to other coins.

For years bitcoin marketcap was around 90%. Then it dropped to 40% in jun 2017 and peaked in dec 2017 at 60%.
But then it dropped to 38% today!

So this means that the value is moved into other coins. It's a big run. The total market cap stays quite the same.

But when bitcoin will crash hard, don't people understand that when the flagship goes down, the other boats become worthless? I believe this is way more important than the current loss in price at the moment.  Lips sealed

There is really nothing to discuss here because the dominance based on the figure you quoted is just based on the price of the respective coins which vary as time passes. As the time you quoted the figure, the percentage is 38% where as if the price of bitcoin should take a jump to $15000 while the other alt coins suffers some amount of crash or drop in price, then it mean that the dominance of bitcoin is proclaimed just by changing of figures over a short period of time.
475  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NEVER REGRET A TRADE AGAIN! on: January 01, 2018, 07:03:44 PM
How do we never regret a trade again when we lose money, miss a cryptocurrency pumping, and sell our Bitcoin or altcoins early on Coinbase, Bittrex, Bitstamp, or Poloniex? The trick is realizing that as long as we are playing any game in life, losing is certain and winning happens more often

The only time I can admit someone loses is when he sold at lesser value from what he bought it aside that, its a profit no matter how small it and that is the category majority of us are. The point we always want is to always make the maximum profit. Someone who sold his BCH (he got as a result of the fork) early or when it crashes will start blaming or counting his losses now but my question is how much did you pay to get it in the first place to be sure he made a loss?
476  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who day trades and who is a holder? on: January 01, 2018, 04:58:57 PM
By day trade I mean literally trading atleast 5 days of the week and by holder I mean holding coins for 3 months or MORE.....

I consider myself a little bit of both.

A lot of people will still fall in the category of the two because even if you want to be a day trader, some factors that are beyond your doing or influence, will force you to hold. For example if I should by at a certain price with the mind to sell at +20% before the next day, but that didn't happen, I am forced to wait a little longer than necessary which then force me to the second category because of the target I have set for myself. So, I also consider myself as a little of both.
477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be cautious with new exchanges on: January 01, 2018, 04:41:03 PM
Yeah, thanks for your advise. I will be careful with new exchanger for now.

The moment the price a particular exchange site is quoting is not within the range of the other reputable exchange sites, even if its not a new site, its a red flag and an indication to be very weary about. The end of it should now be that its a new site with no basis at all and no source of the price being quoted, registering on such site alone, is an invitation to trouble because you might then be tempted to try and do margin trading or arbitrage which is your coins leaving you without the option of coming back.
478  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Convert your BTC to LTC/ETH ASAP on: January 01, 2018, 03:24:41 PM
Bitcoin is doomed. It runs off an outdated rudimentary system which requires way too much electricity. It's only a matter of time before it tanks due to a major technical issue. Switch to LITECOIN which is like bitcoin but better with all necessary improvements. Sell off all your BTC and buy LTC cheap while you still can! I realized how shitty bitcoin was last week when my 5k transaction took almost a day and a half to confirm (I still have no idea why). I sold all $35k of my BTC and put 3/4 into litecoin and the other 1/4 into Ethereum and it's so much cleaner and more manageable if that makes any sense. I also just doubled my money with LTC in the last 24 hrs. I advise you do the same ASAP.

I personally can only thank you but I don't think anyone would wait for advise on this before knowing the right time to jump boat from BTC to LTC. I agree that BTC is currently having some challenges but sayijg its doomed because of that, is what I cant phantom because even the alternative you are providing, we are not sure it can stand the current challenges since it has not faced one.
479  Economy / Marketplace / Re: "Bitcoin mining is a Big no!" on: December 27, 2017, 06:00:31 AM
Ive met some group of financial adviser, they told me that the best way to aquire bitcoin is through cloud mining, they gave me names of trusted cloud mining providers and as of my research, they are well known and trusted.
Then ive met some people, whos already earning big bucks on bitcoin, they dont recommend cloud mining. They told me that its expensive and risky, but as for my understanding its good way of gaining passive income.
What are the possible reason on thier contradiction?
Whos recommendation should i try and why?

Even though the final decision rest on you. But you need to understand the very reason of those two positions because they might both be saying the truth. For the first category of advisers, you need to understand when they invested in cloud mining because at some point cloud mining was profitable but not any longer while to the other people, you also need to understand if they invested in the sites that you have been recommended before making your conclusion as that will guide the final decision making.
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SegWit2X] Together we will see a business through. on: December 26, 2017, 10:01:06 PM
It seems quite a number of things are not adding up around here and whether its the developers or some other people in charge of the thread, there is need to address several of the concerns that have been raised. The initial SegWit2 was already popular with several updates and supports before it was suspended but now being revived. My question is that is it the same team behind the earlier one suspended that are behind this also?
