461  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Should Binance users be worried over the exchange? on: December 31, 2023, 10:59:36 PM
Are there no other top exchanges that are regulatory compliant that are operational in Indian? I don't think only Wazirix can cater for the millions of users who have been using Binance.

There's a fairly recent article of the list of crypto service providers who are in compliance with FIU-INDIA and I see a couple of familiar exchange names. I'm not sure how wide are their prescence in India though. I suggest asking in your local board. The article in question: https://news.bitcoin.com/indian-government-reveals-28-crypto-service-providers-are-registered-with-financial-intelligence-unit/

Honestly, India's a tough place to break in given the regulatory pressure. IIRC coinbase once tried but flipped after for the exact reason. There's also the high tax rate that made their crypto users sheer away from their local exchanges.

Holidays are over and halving is near so I'm expecting a downtrend but there are buzz around ETF so my guess the price would tiptoe between 40K and 45K hence:

My prediction:

Rest In Peace light_warrior and I sincerely hope the year 2024 will be good to his family 🙇
463  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: December 31, 2023, 08:22:22 PM
Thanks for the reply all. I did contact support and let them know of a possible issue but before I went farther I wanted to make sure because I didn't really get a commitment to a bounty pay. I'm not the most tech savvy but so if I can get it to happen someone who knows what their doing can be rich. Maybe

Perhaps, try to look for a dedicated page for bug bounty or an announcement. Also, I think if it's a reputable casino, there's a good chance, people have discussed about the same thing in a gambling message board.

In any case, it will be up to discussion and you'd have to wait for the casino in question's answer -- whether they're willing to reward people for bug tip-offs and if your case does qualify for it.
464  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Newbie promoting Ponzi scheme on: December 31, 2023, 07:11:59 PM
I registered here only for this comment.

Yes, it's a scam. 100%

At the first invest they let you withdraw more than your deposit but after a while suddenly a random amount of money show up at your balance called "system operation"
It was 1600 usd in my case. I've asked the support wtf is this. I saved the whole conversation it was funny and morbid.

Sorry for your loss, op. I suggest making the saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" as one of your life's mantra.

In any case, I've also supported the flag! But if you have time to post those conversation (it shall act as a reference), you can start a scammer flag on them. It's a stronger flag so warning signs are hardened as well once the flag is active, see: Overview of the trust flags

Sadly, domain registar is handled by godaddy and I've usually seen them having not-so-helpful approach/responses when it comes to reporting.
465  Other / Meta / Re: What new changes would you like to see on Bitcointalk in 2024 ? on: December 30, 2023, 11:26:14 PM
I would also like to have the ability to modify our account's usernames. Lets see what 2024 Brings for us.

Members actually can request for it! but their account must be in a good standing in terms of reputation plus have a good reason for such change.

I honestly like the way things are right now-- when it comes to username change. It could cause extra confusion and give birth to scam attempts if this was available to everyone.

What new changes would you like to see on Bitcointalk in 2024 ?  Or do you like the forum exactly as it is ?

Either one of these:

1. Mobile friendly interface
2. Security and privacy board
3. Local board for the active local communities on "Other languages/locations"
4. Built in notification tab
466  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎰🎰🎰 Wagabet.com 🎰🎰🎰 unique cool games - 100% provably fair - wager bonuses on: December 30, 2023, 09:33:28 PM
Yes. I also now realized that the country I am located in may be on the restricted country list on their site. Since other users are not facing any problem to access their website, I found that the problem is on my end. I checked the thread and saw that another member faced the same problem. I will try again to visit this site, now try using VPN and see if I can get access.

May? In case you need the list of restricted countries, here it is:

You are NOT a resident of a restricted jurisdictions such as: the United States and its territories, the United Kingdom, Australia, Aruba, Bonaire, Belize, China, Curaçao, Cyprus, Netherlands, France, Saba, Spain, St Martin or the Dutch West Indies, Ukraine or other countries in which laws and regulations forbid online gambling.

But this may not be it, because I just tried to access the wagabet.com from restricted countries such as Netherlands and US and they worked fine.

Quick lookup of the error returned this btw:

Background
Error 525 indicates that the SSL handshake between Cloudflare and the origin web server failed. This only occurs when the domain is using Cloudflare Full or Full (Strict) SSL mode. This is typically caused by a configuration issue in the origin web server, when this happens, you’ll see “Error 525: SSL handshake failed”.

I'm not sure why it has only happened with few users/instances though. Perhaps an intermittent error or smth?
467  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎰🎰🎰 Wagabet.com 🎰🎰🎰 unique cool games - 100% provably fair - wager bonuses on: December 29, 2023, 09:01:31 PM
Hey Crypto Enthusiasts! BTC

In a world flooded with generic games, players like you crave something truly unique.
That's where Wagabet.com shines, offering tailor-made experiences✨✨✨🌟🌟🌟

First impression is, this looks really nice for some cozy gaming! but will there be plans to implement altcoins such as LTC? bitcoin is nice but miner fees have been poor piss lately for microtransactions or do you have LN?

8. Deposits into account

8.1. The only currency accepted at website is Bitcoin (BTC)

Anyway I tried to visit your site but I got this error message while visiting your site. Need to confirm whether I am facing this issue only or other users are also facing it. Hope you are aware of this problem and your team is working to solve this problem.

Website worked fine on my end. I also tried accessing from a restricted country-- Netherlands -- which surprising worked. I wonder if they're not geo-blocking users.

I did notice the 2nd poster on this thread had the same issue as you though so I wouldn't rule out that there wasn't/isn't an issue.

468  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Should Binance users be worried over the exchange? on: December 29, 2023, 07:52:07 PM
This doesn't just concern binance but all custodial exchanges IMO as there's always a chance your local government could put exchanges (or crypto in general) in a strict regulatory pressure/framework.

So yes, if you're a custodial exchange user, you should always be worried and follow commonly advised precautionary measures such as not treating any custodial service as a means of long term storage, keeping up to date with relevant crypto news as well as your go-to-platforms.

470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I dodge KYC using the his medium. on: December 28, 2023, 11:50:09 PM
I don't get why many people are afraid of KYC. If you want a smooth transaction or withdrawal process of your funds in a casino, then pass the KYC first!!! because most online casinos right now comply with the rules and regulations of the government or law that they should enable customers to do KYC to prevent unwanted activities like money laundering or what so ever,

But passing KYC first does not necessarily mean a smooth experience though. With AML checks in place e.g. accounts getting flagged for suspicious activity or suspected high risk, there's always a possibility to be asked for another set of verification again especially if the user has won a huge amount as this will most likely be checked.

but if you don't want KYC, then better not hope that you can withdraw your money or funds from a casino because they will not approve your withdrawal process as long as you are not complying with the rules.

I do agree with this sentiment. Using a platform with the typical AML/KYC policies should mean one must prepared to undergo basic identity verification or leave their money -- sad reality, I know.
471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how to use the 2FA security system in the account? on: December 28, 2023, 10:25:22 PM
adding a 2 factor verification method needs a lot of time and coding. they've already did a lot of work implementing google 2FA and it is not been so long. I don't think Forum Admins would like to add another one or change  current Google 2 Factor into Aegis

The forum does not need to change anything since any totp app works. Aegis and Google authenticator are both totp app hence both should work.

I prefer Google 2FA, every website and application I know use google 2fa. it sounds more authentic than a relatively unkown company. BTW I had never heard of Aegis before. it looks like it has been around for quite a few years. but still, I didn't see any website or apps using their 2fa.

Platforms typically mention google authenticator but this doesn't mean only google auth works. I believe, I've also listed why aegis is a lot better than google auth but I just wanna say that they're not:

1. relatively unknown - if you look up on online communites such reddit, it actually been recommeded a lot particularly on privacy and security focused communities, and even on bitcointalk by prominent members. also see their github: https://github.com/beemdevelopment/Aegis

2. nor a company - just some fellas doing god's work at no cost
472  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Christmas Bonuses - Suggestions Anyone? on: December 28, 2023, 08:12:31 PM
This thread should be lock now since Christmas is already over few days ago and most of the Christmas bonuses is already over.

There are still plenty of choices though... from op's link alone, half are still ain't over. There are a couple that weren't included in the list too like shuffle and megapari - they end on first week of january.

I think this is because platforms did not just considered christmas but the entire holiday lol.
473  Economy / Exchanges / Re: EasySwap.biz - fresh exchange format on: December 27, 2023, 11:53:39 PM
We do not ask for verification of the amount. Verification is required only in banking directions.

So do you mean it applies only in fiat transactions? if so, I don't think the statement on your AML/KYC page is clear enough.

I read about it and actually had the same interpretation as Yamane_keto

It leans more on 'in general' rather than for fiat transactions only.

In the event that the verification of the e-mail address is successfully carried out, the limit threshold of the client increases. Consequently, $10,000 or the equivalent in cryptocurrency becomes available to the client. The current exchange rate must also be taken into account.

The interface looks elegant and easy to use. I tried the service without registering, but I was surprised on the next page that you were requesting email or Telegram. Why?

It appears they take it as some sort of verification?

Compliance with the laws of the state where the company is located is a priority for the company. Thus, there is a need for two-level verification in relation to the clients of the online service. The user"s email address becomes the subject of verification at the first stage. In the event that the verification of the e-mail address is successfully carried out, the limit threshold of the client increases. Consequently, $10,000 or the equivalent in cryptocurrency becomes available to the client. The current exchange rate must also be taken into account.

But I share the same sentiment as you. With many instant exchanges offering no kind of registration for swaps this will leave them a dent in terms of competition.
474  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC offers no more free TX acceleration? on: December 27, 2023, 10:33:33 PM
I too was trying to push my transaction two days ago or so and essentially gave up lmao. My theory that time was they temporarily froze the hourly reset for free tx push since I tried hitting refresh the moment an hour reset and the "Remaining hourly FREE transactions" never moved from zero -- I think I tried this on two or three hourly resets... plus, on my previous attempts which were successful, i would typically see it moved from zero.

But the bot theory sounds feasible as well. I wouldn't be surprised if some 3rd party has started a paid acceleration service through viabtc lol. Idk if they'll be able to do something 'bout it but I'll try to drop an email about this to viabtc.
475  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone can succeed as a bitcoin trader on: December 26, 2023, 11:57:25 PM
Hmm. I'm not sure about that. Some people are definitely ain't fit for trading that's why they quit e.g. huge loss due to poor practice, terrible anxiety, lack of time, too gullible, you name it. In addition, the sad reality is, simply working hard does not necessarily mean you'll get the result you wanted. This does not only apply to trading though but in general.

Being positive is perfectly fine but too much of it ain't good. In life, it's also important to know when to quit otherwise it could bring more harm to you. On the bright side, trading isn't the only path, some have found comfort in long term hodling 😌 -- in hodling, we trust! lol
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Gambling Affiliate Program Problem on: December 26, 2023, 09:34:02 PM
Just to be sure, have you read the promotion's terms of service and have made sure you met the prerequisites? for instance, a lot of casinos depend their referal earning based on the referred person's deposit/wager.

I would also suggest naming the casinos you've used because every kind of business has bad apples. There are some platforms who are suspected of not playing fair when it comes to this hence the community may shade a light if a particular platform has such reputation. Actually, if you're convinced this was the case for you, you could start a scam accusation with supporting evidence included, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0
477  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fraud on Marketplaces when selling a video card on: December 26, 2023, 08:02:18 PM
Quote from: op
Due to the complex logistics system, now the buyer cannot return the goods. The client has not been able to receive a refund for a month now.

Could you also elaborate this? does this mean if it weren't for the logistics problem, the alleged victim would've been refunded? was crypto used?

Was there also no buyer protection or anything? e.g. middle man/escrow. There are tons of scammers out there hence a buyer protection is a must for these kind of transaction to minimize the risk.

The links posted are all in russian (and can be a long read) so it would be nice if op could summarize the whole alleged scam scheme.

... as they haven't removed it from their terms, it means, it is either temporary protocol or no kyc for deposits less than 2k euros? the rep can clarify on this matter so people won't expect that they are totally operating without kyc policy.

Honestly confused as well on what has changed 😅

Looking at the post from the first page, the 2K limit has been mentioned on august this year so it's nothing new.

When a user makes an aggregate lifetime total of deposits exceeding EUR 2000 or requests a withdrawal of any amount inside leetbit.io Platform, then it is compulsory for them to perform a full KYC process.

A copy of Government Issued Photo ID (in some cases front and back depending on the doc)
A selfie of themselves holding the ID doc
A bank statement/Utility Bill

Source

I did notice they changed the word "compulsory" to "may", though if you ask me, it's more or less the same to me.

When a user makes an aggregate lifetime total of deposits exceeding EUR 2000 or requests a withdrawal of any amount inside leetbit.io Platform, then we may ask them to perform a full KYC process.

KYC policy and terms of service pages last update mark was on January 1, 2023 as well that could denote nothing important has been changed 'yet'.
