Firstly I must admit that Inter didn't play well at all. Especially in the second half they weren't able to do anything.  But their still managing to win a very tough game like this really impressed me. Martinez didn't play in this game. Inzaghi must have wanted to save his energy for the rematch against Atletico Madrid in a couple of days. In this game Inter defenders showed an incredible performance. While the midfielders and attackers were having big difficulties the three-player defense line played a big role in preventing a bad result. Because Bologna tried everything they could. Arsenal - Porto could be seen as an interesting game maybe because of the first leg result. But I'm not thinking in the same way honestly. It is true Arsenal couldn't play properly in Portugal and deserved to lose like that. However I don't expect Arsenal to repeat the same poor performance at home. I assume there are many people who were surprised with the result of the Roma - Brighton game like me. It was just a huge dominance by Roma, much more than the expectations. The odd gap for these two sides to win wasn't that big. Maybe having Joao Pedro on the field would have made things more different for Brighton in terms of scoring capability. On the other hand De Rossi is really doing a great job these days. The general results have been really positive since the day he took the job. Lewandowski made an assist and he made an impact in a way at least as I expected.  Barcelona could have been able to get an easier win in the Mallorca game actually. If Gundogan didn't miss that penalty early in the first half I think a more comfortable win could have seen. Anyway I got what I wanted from this game by betting on Barcelona to win. Aston Villa - Tottenham is such a tough game to predict as far as I can see. Firstly Aston Villa played a Conference League game against Ajax two days ago. However Emery rotated the squad quite much for that game thinking about their Tottenham game ahead. Watkins played for 90 minutes so maybe he might be a little tired now. Aston Villa beat Tottenham by 2-1 away before if you don't remember. At Tottenham side Richarlison and Pedro Porro's condition is not certain. I don't feel like Dortmund or Leipzig will lose points this week. If one of them lose points I would expect it to be Dortmund. Because their opponent is Werder Bremen and they are in top ten know. Considering how inconsistent Dortmund have been for quite a while it wouldn't be too surprising to see them losing this away game. Time flies so fast and we have met again this week. The opening match this week will see hosts Barcelona playing against Mallorca and I think this is quite an exciting bet. This is not to underestimate Barcelona because Mallorca managed to beat Girona last week and seeing that Barcelona cannot win against Girona this season makes the situation very unclear. It would be quite risky if we bet on this match and we should be able to avoid undesirable results.
Barcelona is definitely the favorite to win considering that apart from being the host, they have another target by displacing Girona in second place in the standings. Meanwhile, for Mallorca, which cannot be said to be consistent so far, it is clear that they want to aim for another win against Barcelona. I know it's difficult but just one point means a lot for Mallorca. I think the match could end in a draw or even be a narrow victory for one of the teams and it looks like Barcelona have to be careful this time not to let their guard down just because Mallorca is a weak team.

Too soon to say they will become a champion, both Marseille and Roma are have a same strength too if we talk about winning with big margin goals. Leverkusen in the first leg looks like a mediocre team, but it could be Qarabag is very strong and people underestimate them.
In the second leg, Liverpool might lose because they don't have to win to qualify to the next rounds.
Of course taking only goal gap into account wouldn't help us reach anywhere. Maybe they all won in a similar way but there are significant quality gaps among these teams on one hand. Nice just couldn't get a single win in the league for five weeks. Three of them are losses. They immediately need to improve their form somehow. The Montpellier game can be seen as an opportunity to put an end to this bad streak but I still have doubts though. Because Nice couldn't even win a home game against Clermont recently. This should also explain their current condition. Nice have literally scored less number of goals than the number of games they have played so far (23 goals in 24 games). If the statistics doesn't change positively for them I think they might not even qualify for any tournament. I hope Nice manage to win today. |

It is like Leverkusen are fighting for every title they can achieve at the moment and this is amazing to watch. They technically have a chance to win three titles this season if I'm not wrong. The Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Europa League titles. They have been showing a quite decent performance in these tournaments as well. The Qarabag game yesterday started a little bit unexpectedly though but Leverkusen still managed to equalize the score. I assume they would finish the job in the second leg nicely. They are in the semi finals phase of DFB Pokal and getting so close to announcing their Bundesliga title too. It would be a huge start for Xabi Alonso to his career if he achieves titles. |

What other coaches come into your mind? I've never paid attention to managers other than Klopp or Pep, and they don't have any nationality preference when it comes to picking players. Are you sure it is not because of a language issue? I think Klopp is open about it, he says he prefers someone who can speak English or German so he has an easier team to convey his tactics. There is an outlier like Nunez, but having a translator probably helps in that regard, especially if the translator is your teammate.
Honestly I don't have a specific example in my mind right now but I said it because of witnessing such examples in the past. When it comes to language barrier it is surely an important problem. Having more people from your nationality helps about it a lot indeed. Maybe like you said Erik ten Hag's main goal might be this rather than prioritizing the players of his own nationality. There are so many players of various nationality in the squad of the Red Devils now. The number of English players is quite low so only learning English wouldn't be enough for him. |

Manchester City just satisfied the expectations by getting another comfortable result. Could it have been a bigger score? Yeah actually but Guardiola just wanted to rest significant amount of players in their usual lineup. I think he did the right thing by that as we think there is a crucial Liverpool game in the Premier League in a few days. Real Madrid were indeed bad. I bet on them like so many to win the game. But unfortunately it didn't happen. Leipzig made huge difficulties for them in the meantime. Ancelotti and the fans all must be quite disappointed with what they saw despite reaching quarter finals. I also don't want to see this version of Real Madrid in next phase(s). |

Have you heard that Ancelotti allegedly evaded tax and he might get prison sentence of 4 years and 9 months?  According to Sky News there is a possibility like this. But it is an allegation as I said and as far as I know Ancelotti denied this. I hope there isn't really such thing done by him. Otherwise it would be really unfortunate for a great manager like Ancelotti. I think he won't be found guilty of this accusation. It just doesn't make sense to me especially while he is still doing his job actively. If he was retired then I wouldn't have been so sure of that as I don't know him personally in the end. |
