Introducing a new sport takes may take many decades to have a real impact. The most basic requirement is Olympic inclusion. If a particular sport is not included in the Olympics, then the governments don't have any incentive to support it. And this is exactly the reason why countries such as China and Russia ignore cricket completely. And the ICC is least bothered in getting Olympics included in the Games. Now they are saying that it maybe possible by 2032. And ten years later, they will claim that they will push for the inclusion in 2042. This sort of delaying tactics will go on forever.

Cricket is mainly ignored by big powers because of its time consuming nature i.e. Test and ODIs. With launch of T20 format it was expected that more countries will join in but sadly that did'nt happened. Cricket is also over a century old ( first test match was played in 1877) but sadly its still restricted to few countries only. Inclusion in Olympics is still not clear.

If the youngsters perform in the upcoming series then it is end of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane and they should hang their career. It is a fact that the career of Wriddhiman Saha is almost over once Rishabh Pant showcased his talent in the Test format and now it will be hard for him to make a return in the team unless Rishabh Pant is injured. Not sure about Ishant Sharma.

Its good to have backup in your team, this makes sense as player always take the game serious since he knows that he can be replaced if he wont performed. Pant performance in test is impressive, in his 48 innings he has scored 1735 with decent average. While Saha has scored 1352 runs in his 56 innings, don't know why Saha has been given too many chances.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most reliable coin to invest in is Bitcoin. on: February 20, 2022, 05:44:43 PM
Yes.... so far it seems as though Bitcoin is recovering after every large drop in the price, so it gives people multiple opportunities to make a profit. Let me give you an example of what one of my friends did, when he bought at the all-time-high price of $18 000 and then when it dropped to $3000 and it took 3 years to recover.

He jumped in on $18 000 ...thinking that it will go much higher... but... the opposite happened. The price took a nose dive to $3000 and it took 3 years to get back to $18 000. So other people will never invest in something like that, but he said... f%^&k that, he bought 5 bitcoins at $3500 and he hoarded...and hoarded...and hoarded.... then the price recovered to $18 000, but he still did not sell, he just continued to hoard.

He eventually sold at $60 000 and made a profit of over $300 000 ......... (nothing else performed that well over the same period)  Wink

Your friend really has strong nerves as he saw his investment going down from 18k to 3k and even then he averaged his investment by buying more BTC at 3500$. One key rule of every investment sector is that never buy when price of token, stock or any-other commodity is at its peak, its time when whales are selling and vice versa. Buy when everyone fearful of buying and sell when everyone greedy to buy (Warren Buffet)

In PSL today, Islamabad United today made 105/7 in 20 overs. Just when they needed good NRR to qualify for semis they made this small total. It will be interesting to see what there NRR will be after the game as Islamabad and Quetta both have same points. Liam Dawson is the only man performing well from Islamabad side he was second top scorer with bat and also took wickets but his hard work will be in vain as Multan need 18 runs on 26 balls.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 20, 2022, 11:31:19 AM

Well your wish has come true and Srilanka have won this match with 5 wickets in 19.5 overs. Sri Lanka avoid the whitewash and it's a happy dug-out! The bowlers did a superb job to restrict the Aussies to 154. And, they backed that performance with a good batting performance.
Kushal mendis played a very good knock and took his team home.

Good to see Sri Lanka avoiding whitewash at the hands of lethal Aussies. I didn't saw the match but from scorecard it's clear that match was close contest as Srilanka won the match with just one ball remaining. Kusal Mendis was the man who took Srilanka home.
There is 3rd T20I about to began between India and WI. WI are in same condition as Srilanka were today. Question is can WI avoid whitewash or not ?
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥶 Winter Beijin 2022 🥶 Discussion and bet thread 🥶 Winter Game 🥶 on: February 20, 2022, 09:54:58 AM
Winter olympics 2022 comes to an end. Norway won most of the medals and with 16 medals they are at no one followed by Germany with 12 gold. What's astonishing is that China who was at bottom throughout the games finished 3rd with 9 medals ahead of there rivals usa with 8 medals.
Today's main news is Finland got there first ever gold in men's hockey as they beat ROC, final score was 2-1.

I enjoyed the games though there is only one participant from my country. Will catch this thread again in summer olympics.
507  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What did you learn about crypto trading? on: February 19, 2022, 07:08:05 AM
I have come to understand trading is a two way thing no matter how experienced you are losses is a sure expectation. Learning is just the only way to keep the loses minimal and by learning I mean continuous learning and also trading is one profession too that needs attention because divided attention can only cause tension in the midst of retracement if when the trade is in the analyzed direction

Trading is not everyone job, only experience (that comes from long money in crypto over the time) traders can handle it.
It is estimated that 95% of traders lose money — and yes, Bitcoin is certainly not immune to the same market forces and human emotion. .

The lesson which I learned from my few trading transactions are that I am not suitable guy for this. I switched myself from trading to HODLing  very early and that helped me in minimizing my crypto loss.
508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Just Legalized Bitcoin on: February 19, 2022, 07:01:09 AM
It doesn't change anything for the citizens since it wasn't illegal in the first place. As mentioned in the article, people are already using it. Do I need to remind you that we don't need any approval from any government to use Bitcoin? Who cares if Ukraine decided to make it illegal? Surely not the Ukrainians themselves.

It only helps companies to make sure that they are operating in a recognized and supervised environment and that they won't get a surprise a day with someone telling them "you have to close the doors tomorrow".

Not really a new per se, or I mean not an important one. There are like 300 countries worldwide so expect to see a few hundred appearing from time to time.

I too think there is no relation between Russia VS Ukraine. Making a currency "legal" doesn't mean it's a currency "official" or that could be used by the government

Making it legal doesn't mean that government is moving towards decentralized crypto wallets for sending and receiving the money.

From the article shared by OP, "The National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, as well as the National Bank, are in charge of regulating the virtual asset market". They are regulating the crypto sector so that government has insight of whats going on insight.

510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World Governments are Scared of the Popularity of Bitcoin on: February 18, 2022, 03:05:23 PM
]

They are against everything they can't control, it's nothing new in a world ruled by elites who worship fiat as their deity helping them rule the world. If we look at who is all in that famous FSB, then things become even clearer. When you mention Bitcoin to these people, their blood pressure immediately jumps and their hearts start beating like crazy, because they have one big problem - how to put the genie in a bottle, or somehow tame it to work in their favor.

Quote
The FSB consists of members from bodies like the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, and the World Bank.

This issue is as old as Hills and has been discussed many times before. You point it right governments are against everything which is not under there control be it crypto, journalists, media or any other entity. The biggest weapon government has against its enemies is legislation through its regulating authorities like Parliament, central banks etc.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 17, 2022, 06:22:55 PM

I think it's quite possible for Afghanistan to beat Bangladesh to be honest because the Bangladesh team is currently not in the best shape or form right now.

Well, Afghanistan is also not in the best shape or form right now too, but I think Afghanistan takes their cricket more seriously than Bangladesh. And obviously, if they can beat Bangladesh the other teams are going to fear them Lips sealed, what do you think?

There is every possibility that Afghans can beat Bangladesh in ODI and T20 series and do some upsets in series with India. Bangladesh has included 4 new pacers in there team which can turn out to be a vital mistake, they should go with full strength team. I havent seen odds for BAN vs Afghan series, they must be very much balanced.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 17, 2022, 06:18:06 PM

I also agree with this and these types of actions are against sportsman spirit. I think PCB should not allow these types of acts in the match and take strict actions like banning these players for 2 or more matches. Unless and until there is plenty for these acts, players will not refrain from doing these stupid things.

Such incidents are part of almost every league and in fact they are part of entertainment also. Due to this not many boards are taking action againest just violations. In current match Islamabad United need 49 runs in 26 balls. The star performer in todays game is Azam khan who is not out on 71 runs, United need to bowl him out if they wanna win this game.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 16, 2022, 03:06:14 PM

Regardless of what they have done in the past, we can't make any emotional judgments. WI T20 sides are well known for having strong hitters, they always play much better than any other format and anyone can alter the atmosphere in just couple of minutes. Although we know this, it would be better for WI if they bowl first against IND. However, IND wins the toss and opts to bowl first. Wishing WI success in the T20I series. There are some great players on both teams in T20, so I expect this to be a thrilling game.

The first T20I is slipping away from WI ( I know its too early to say) as they have only scored 108 runs in 16 overs after losing 5 wickets. Nicholas Pooran  is top scorer right now, 53 not out. There is no support for Pooran on the other end. WI may be good in T20I but it's difficult to beat India at there home ground.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 16, 2022, 03:01:09 PM

I would be very happy to see Afghanistan beat Bangladesh, because as you have rightly said Afghanistan have progressed a lot and deserve more recognition for their efforts. Also if both India and Bangladesh play with a weakened team then it’s up to Afghanistan to show what they can do, and if they win against both the teams then other teams will take Afghanistan more seriously than they currently do.

In my view Bangladesh is at same level as Afghanistan except that they have proper board behind them and they are playing cricket for quite a while now. Only India is stronger then Afghanistan and I am sure India knows that they should go against them with full strength squad. Matches between Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be interesting to watch.

I am also very excited for this years IPL. Mainly because of 2 new team being added and alot of players have been exchanged between teams. I lost a bit of interest in IPL in last couple of seasons but these things bought a new freshness in the IPL and I am looking forward to it.
This year also I am backing Chennai super kings to perform well.

Interesting facts about IPL auction keep coming, there are 15 IPL auction so far and MS Dohni is the only man who was bidded by all the teams at the auction (true or not). In 2022 IPL he is retained by Chennai for 12 crore while Deepak Chahar was bought for 14 crore.
516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 16, 2022, 02:47:26 PM

I really don’t remember any spin bowler from Pakistan except for Afridi cause he used to bowl Spin, or was he a medium fast bowler always had trouble understanding his bowling. Also didn’t Shaun Tait have that weird action and despite having the pace he barely performed well, just googled and it was also injuries which effected his career, because I clearly remember he had the potential to succeed but he failed too.

You can see quality of his spin by his stats. In 398 ODIs he picked 395 wickets, almost one wicket per ODI. While in 99 T20I he has picked only 98 wickets. He is just an average bowler nothing special about his spin. Despite his average stats both in Batting and bowling he manage to play 398 ODIs for Pakistan.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 16, 2022, 02:40:03 PM
Match started. India won the toss but chose to field. It was an awesome start from India. Bhuveneshwar bowled and Surykumar caught Brandon King's wicket. But Kyle Mayers from WI was on fire striking 31 runs out of 24 bowls. 7 fours. But Chahal bowled well and taken his wicket on lbw. Ravi Bisnoy had a chance to take Pooran's wicket but touched the boundary line. Now WI has scored 55/2 out of 8 overs. If WI is able to take 10 runs from each upcoming over, then they have a chance to score 179. Will wait and watch.

In 11 overs WI are 74/4. So far it looks very much balance to me, if WI can score somewhere around 150 only then there bowling can do something against India strong batting line up.

In PSL, karachi is facing might Multan Sultan today. Its Karachi 8th match today and they have yet to see a victory so far. While Multan has lost only one out of seven games they played.

.

IPL matches are going to be quite interesting. the starting match is between Kolkata Knight Riders versus Chennai Super Kings and this match is going to be really interesting and competitive in my opinion as both teams look quite good for this year's IPL.

IPL auction was full of surprises this time as players like Morgan and Finch went unsold after multiple rounds of auction. First match of IPL will be on 2nd April and before that India is scheduled to play an odi series against Afghanistan. Lots of exciting matches will be seen in IPL like every year.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 14, 2022, 02:43:54 PM

There are always some rivalry going on between them. I think that India and Pakistan are never going to be friends, to be honest. If they could, things would have been different. And the media of both countries seems to put the wind on fire. I genuinely believe people are not bad, but everyone judges a country by looking at only a selected few people.

Its 70 years since both countries got independence from UK. Relations between both are up and down. In 2003, 04,05 and 07 there were test series between these two countries. Last time they played test match against each other was in Nov 2007 since then its dry period and they play each other in ICC events only.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Snooker Game on: February 14, 2022, 10:43:13 AM

I don't get why all you guys keep saying that there are not a lot of casinos that you can place snooker bets on. Almost all major popular crypto casinos offer matches on snooker (Stake, Roobet, ...). Snooker is indeed super popular in UK, but it is gaining rapid popularity also in China, as some young talents are emerging from there and they started winning ranking tournaments also.

Snooker popularity according to Snooker Database is England, Scotland, Wales and China. Almost all major titles are won by England players. I don't know how big or small betting industry of snooker game is. Snooker is really taken as a game, mostly people take it as leasure time to kill time.
