I think against Afghanistan, India is going to try their luck and give the new players a chance to play for the national side and also look how the players do who are new to the international scene.
And I think that will surely give the opponent a good chance of beating India. Back I don't think that India is going to face that much problem from Afghanistan.

Before coming to India, Afghanistan is touring Bangladesh for ODI series. Bangladesh will test new talent in this series as they called 4 uncapped players for this series Ebadot Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Yasir Ali and Mahmudul Hasan Joy. Its positive sign that cricket in Afghanistan continuous after the regime change there. Afghanistan has made quite progress in ODI and T20I, way more then what Bangladesh achieved in 20 years.

New zealand Women VS India Women

Two hours later, the Indian women's team will play against the New Zealand women's team. New Zealand won easily in the only T20 match and in the first two ODIs. The Indian women's team is not performing as well as expected on New Zealand's pitch. I think the New Zealand women's team will win today's match as usual. They will not give India any chance to win.

BCCI is richest board yet they have zero focus on woman cricket. In woman cricket only England, Australia and NZ have strong teams rest of the countries have just team for formalities. Indian woman team is no where near to NZ woman team in T20 and ODI played so far. In t20 India lost by 18 runs while in ODI lost by 62 runs. There are 4 more ODIs still to be played.

Yes, there is no big consideration over the Indian Women's cricket.  Indian women's team too is a strong team. Some small error during the match used to bring loss for them. Indian women's cricket players weren't given proper respect and there is discrimination in pay and other beneficiaries. This has made caused various people discuss on the same and no end result is achieved on it.

The absence of the WIPL has been a big negative for the women's players. I still don't understand what prevented the BCCI from launching a smaller league with 3 or 4 teams for the women. The Australian and the English cricket boards have shown them how to create profits from the women's game. Even New Zealand is way up compared to the BCCI. On the other hand, the BCCI has actually asked the Indian players to get match practice through playing in WBBL and Women's Hundred (they have banned the men's players from similar leagues).

Women's cricket is relatively less popular. Very few people enjoy it, the less the broadcasters benefit from it. That is why almost all the boards neglect women's cricket. However, I often enjoy women's cricket matches just to bet. Because in most cases the matches are one-sided.
India lost even after giving a huge target of 271 runs. I thought maybe they would win this match. 271 runs is a huge target in women's cricket. New Zealand's Amelie Kerr's responsible batting helped them to win.

See the level of discrimination BCCI has for men and women cricket. BCCI has earned billions of dollars from men IPL, can't they spend few hundred thousand dollars for woman leagues?
Indian woman lost to New Zealand woman in 2nd ODI by 3 wickets. Though Indian W gave a good target of 270, it was Amelia Kerr from new zealand who scored unbeaten 119.
I was wondering what will happen in India if there man team was losing matches like that !!!

Why would BCCI look for profit through women cricket when they are making more profit every year through IPL? WIPL will not generate revenue for them as not many Indians watch women cricket within India. Have you ever seen a lot of crowds gathering in the stadium when women cricket is being played in India?

Lack of interest from BCCI in starting WIPL is one key factor that women cricket is still neglected. Male cricket teams from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have dominated international crikcet but there woman teams are no where to be seen. England and Australia have good women cricket team only.

Afghanistan can play great against Bangladesh in this ODI series as each of their experienced players will participate in this series. I don't think Afghanistan will win the ODI series but they will be able to make their mark in the next T20 matches. Because you know, Afghanistan has some well-formed T20 standard players.

I would be very happy to see Afghanistan beat Bangladesh, because as you have rightly said Afghanistan have progressed a lot and deserve more recognition for their efforts. Also if both India and Bangladesh play with a weakened team then it’s up to Afghanistan to show what they can do, and if they win against both the teams then other teams will take Afghanistan more seriously than they currently do.

Well, I actually see this from the opposite way because the BCCI gets a lot of money from IPL so they also invest in the men's IPL, and in that way the money generation can be bigger and more stable. I think the BCCI knows that women's cricket in India is not going to make a lot of revenue for them and that's why they are not that interested in it.

Why would BCCI look for profit through women cricket when they are making more profit every year through IPL? WIPL will not generate revenue for them as not many Indians watch women cricket within India. Have you ever seen a lot of crowds gathering in the stadium when women cricket is being played in India?
But, I think it's worth a try because even though women's cricket is not that popular in India I think there is still hope for them because the population of India is massive and I think a lot of Indian women are interested in cricket. so I think it's worth a try.

In my view Bangladesh is at same level as Afghanistan except that they have proper board behind them and they are playing cricket for quite a while now. Only India is stronger then Afghanistan and I am sure India knows that they should go against them with full strength squad. Matches between Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be interesting to watch.

Yeah, it's not good for them to avoid women at all because if they are feeling they will have lost, but this can turn into good after few years because after few early years surely there could be some better interest about this and as India is good at marketing this can do more good for them. Just they need to start with 6 teams and give a try instead of mentioning ladies to join WBBL and Hundred100 women league because it's really shameful act from them.

As of now, they are the richest sporting authority, and they can manage things like this very easily without any big concern, even they can manage one ODI tournament as well for women which will create more interest and some better for spreading cricket around India for women talent.

All board may contribute some money and start some sort of league for money, as its not possible for small countries to bear losses from woman leagues. This will only help women cricketers to generate money for themselves, as of now I dont think there is any women cricketer who has earned adequate money from cricket.

BCCI is not small board and India is also not small country and if they start any league for women surely after some seasons they will receive very good response, and they will be in better position but sadly currently they are not thinking about this at all and their all greediness is on IPL and men cricket which is really poor thinking from this management right now just Australia and England Boards are doing some good for women cricketers and no other capable of doing this.

India is very good in few things and right now they can bring this big change in this region because if they announce any league with women surely many women cricketers from other countries will also participate in this and this will give them some good fan base which will also help in good marketing and better way of having some income may be in early years they have few loses, but later they can do some better.

But similar to what happened with the IPL, if the WIPL is launched it can cause a spike in the popularity for the women's game. It will bring big bucks as well, as some of the corporates and celebrities who can't afford franchises or sponsorship in the IPL may opt for the women's variety.

I don't think WIPL can cause some damage to men IPL. As same companies who sponsoring male IPL will be in women also. Anyways we don't have any chance of women IPL in coming years, only league's for women are WBBL and in England. These two leagues are dominated by Aus and England women don't know if there are women Cricketers from rest of the world also.

No, that was never a concern that WIPL will take away viewership of IPL. The truth is women cricket doesn't have viewership in India. The situation of women cricket is still better in india than in the neighbouring cricket playing nations. BCCI doesn't want to gamble with WIPL and waste its time and resources when they know it will not be successful at all.

Arey didi you're throwing some fine wisdom here.  Tongue Grin

How hard is it to understand that so far BCCI policies are very ignorant as far as Women cricket is concern, they treat them as second class community.

Although recently Dada and his deputy made some positive announcement about WIPL but judging from their track record its hard to take their words for granted.
