Tonight I think I'm riding the Raptors.  I know Lakers just beat the Clippers but James always comes up big in those types of games.  It's games like this they end up losing.  Toronto is young and with IQ running the show out there now they look like a new team.  Still feel like rj will come back to earth and be a dead end on most possessions but I'm gonna ride them out.

Also unsure of the Timberwolves over under is but I'm probably gonna take the under on that game.

They’re saying Ja Morant is out for the season with his injury now. Ouch. The dangers of making a star athlete sit idle for so long… It’s quite possible he’ll never be the same after this and it’s very likely the result of his suspension. Not the greatest look for the NBA.

Although Memphis Grizzlies is currently at the bottom of the NBA standing, it's not that the absence of Ja Morant will have a big impact on them the whole season. Last season, if you guys remember, the Grizzlies were even better when Morant was out or should I say, their win-loss percentage with or without Morant on the floor is just balanced.

With Morant's long suspension and absence from several Grizzlies' games, their players are now used to playing without Morant. Though there is no doubt that Morant is the main guy in the Grizzlies, his absence can be covered by some of their good role players like Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson, and Marcus Smart.

Feel bad for what happened to Morant in his career. Aside from his problematic behavior and sometimes exercising his bragging rights, he's now facing a bad injury or maybe worse, as that shoulder injury might likely change his usual athletic playing style.

Memphis is hosed, they stunk this year without ja.  Desmond bane is a good Robin he isn't a batman.  And jarren Jackson is a nice 3rd piece.  They gonna miss the playoffs without ja and Steven adams.  Unless they make some sort of trade their season is over.  Ja unfortunately did this to himself being young and dumb.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins would you invest $ 1,000,000 in? on: January 08, 2024, 10:29:00 PM
Why wouldn't you just put your money into bitcoin.  That should easily 2-5-10x your money. Too many people try to strike it rich with altcoins but there is so much downside risk I don't understand unless you have  massive bitcoin holdings already and just looking for a gamble.  Otherwise why wouldn't you consider bitcoin?
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decred scandal? Project Founder owns more than 2M DCR coins on: January 08, 2024, 10:23:13 PM
Just another scam coin created to provide wealth for the inner circle of people.  Every new cycle more coins come along and say they are gonna change the world when really it's just another copy paste coin with the creator looking for more bitcoin lol.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is GRIN still a thing? on: January 08, 2024, 10:19:15 PM
It's been quite a long time since the first cryptocurrency with the "Mimblewimble" privacy technique was released. My first days of using GRIN were quite troublesome due to its added complexity. But it's a great coin to use for privacy-oriented transactions once you get the hang of it. Somehow, GRIN became a forgotten cryptocurrency as all of the attention shifted back to Monero. Was this a result of poor marketing/promotion efforts? Or a lack of user experience?

I'm wondering if this coin still has a future, especially when privacy on crypto has been frowned upon by mainstream governments. Do you think it can be good long-term investment like Monero? Or is it a complete bust? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

I completely forgot about that coin.  I remember when they came out and mimblewimble was all the latest rage.  There was another coin that was it's competitor I forget it now but the 2 of them ran in price so quick.  People said it was gonna change the world and here we are it's just another crap coin lime the rest of them.
526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 08, 2024, 10:15:27 PM
It became clear that the losses in the Lakers were psychological.
Los Angeles Lakers, who lost four of their last five games, beat a team like Los Angeles Clippers by 106-103.
The Clippers were definitely the clear favorite in the match, but the Lakers won and got a surprise victory.
The Lakers will play two more games at home on Wednesday and Friday and will face Toronto on Wednesday. Toronto will be the favorite in the match. Because Toronto's away statistics are considered good. If the Lakers pass the Toronto hurdle, we can comment that the team is starting to form again.

If it's in LA I don't think Toronto will be favorites.  They have been killing it lately since the trade (same for the knicks).  But at home and Toronto on a west coast trip I can see the Lakers being favorite by a couple.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 08, 2024, 10:12:45 PM
I was torn between the Pacers vs Celtics game the last time, I wanted to beat on the Pacers and I thought that they have a chance to win when they cut the lead by 3 points in the 3rd quarter. But Celtics eventually make a run pushing the lead into 8 and won by double digits.

But this time it might be different though, so I will now go with the Pacers by ML @2.22.

That one is too tough for me to guage.  Celtics obviously can win on any given night, I think I'm gonna snag the over on tonight.  Got hosed last night I had the Lakers-3.5 with an in game bet and austin reaves missed a foul shot with a couple seconds to go and they only won by 3.  I forever now don't like AR lol.
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: have anyone notice this $btcinu on: January 06, 2024, 11:45:38 PM
I just seen this from other bitcoin post.

does anyone heard or even invested on bitcoin inu / $BTCINU?

there are doing a presale @ bitcoininu.io

any thoughts is highly appreciated.

Anything using the bitcoin in theor name should be avoided at all costs.  They are combing bitcoin and inu trying to use the interest in both.  A devious beginning will ALWAYS lead to a devious end.  If it was a real project they wouldn't need to use either name.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Doge worth investing? on: January 06, 2024, 11:43:58 PM
I wouldn't and here are my reasons why:

1) 2020/21 was where the money was made, too much downside risk now

2) most people drank the Kool aid and held their bag meaning everyone who would buy to create a pump already is loaded with a bag, so little chance for big push up.

3) even worse those same people are holding are waiting to dump theor bag so there will be tons of downward pressure.

4) endless 10,000 coins minted every minute...forever.

I'd steer clear.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 06, 2024, 11:40:43 PM
Lakers were never that great to be fair, the in-season tournament looked like the only thing they could win so that is why they tried their hardest there, while other teams saw it mostly as just a regular season game, and focused on playoffs, Lakers acted as if that was the nba championship, and that is why they won. Of course, other teams tried when it came to semi finals and finals as well, but Lakers had to win just a few games to get there, only a few wins and they were great.

I think Lebron is being left alone once again, that is what happens when he goes to a team, that is always his trouble. He builds a team, he wins something, the players who won with him gets paid a lot more in other teams, he is left with scrubs when his initial winning teammates leave for more money. It always happens to him, except maybe Miami.
can't.

Agreed.  I think after watching the in season tournament Lebron is coasting to much in the regular season.  I know at his age he can't go hard for 82.  In the past when he was young he could coast and still win but not anymore.  Last year they started too late and never made that push they needed.  They better not get too far behind or they will be fighting for the playin.

Saw this video on YouTube of The Rock and his team discussing with ESPN their creation of the UFL which .. “The United Football League, a powerful combination of the XFL and USFL, will provide passionate sports fans with an entertaining, innovative and action-packed season” - ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro

@Huerisitc I figured you’d especially appreciate this. I’m actually looking forward to this league and going to give it a legitimate try.

https://youtu.be/YuQf34I3RnU?si=Xk_JnOOHwTAU871F

Did the rock shrink or is that chick huge? Cheesy

You were 100% against it last year, so what made you change your mind?

I was concerned Fox would try to push the XFL out so I guess this is a decent outcome although I would rather have seen them stay independent.

Funny now that they made it the corporate interests have decided to join them (I'm impressed they were able to read the writing on the wall this quickly) and probably try to wrest control from the inside.

I hope the XFL read that contract they signed because saying you have 50 percent means nothing unless your only in it for the money.

It's the same thing the futures markets do to control securities.

So basically it boils down to fox bought 50% of the xfl for IIRC $150million (what they spent to make and play a season of the usfl).

I'd say they got quite a deal.

I don't have the time nor the inclination to look into it but I wonder how this is going to effect how players from this league and colleges go into the draft if at all.

Specifically I'm wondering if they wrote into the rules that players are screwed like the college kids with capped rookie contracts when getting picked up for the nfl?

Lol man, you know that use to be his xgf ? (I know right).  I wasn't necessarily dead set against any of these other leagues. I've had good buddies play in a few of them and have certainly supported the idea, I've just found them difficult to watch as some of them are just so watered down and stray too far from the game of regular football.  I do love the idea of just 1 of these leagues existing as there's simply not enough talent for a multitude of league to be going on at one time.  If there's only just one, there's going to be some exciting players who end up getting a shot at the NFL, as well as some x-NFL'rs who will finish out their careers in a league like this and that I find fun/cool.

Wow the amount of backups playing this week has to be a record!

Yupp and this is why we cut out the last week of the season ( of course as we all know).  Still looking forward to tomorrows final Sunday of sitting on the couch so long all day watching my favorite thing that I end up farting a hole in to the sofa cushion.

Agreed, there is no other development leagues for the NFL so players depend on practice squad which really isn't game ready.  I'm all for the leagues but just can't stand watching them.  I try I just cant.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 06, 2024, 11:36:22 PM
I'm thinking tonight to place a bet on Pacers ML ( 6th straight consecutive win last night so pretty much I can't bet against them ) but also Knicks who are playing awesome basketball right now and looks like a safe bet. I would have trow a bit of a joker here with Jazz covering the spread points but I can't trust this team while they play away + they really can't guard Embiid.

I like the knocks too but the line is upwards of 10 on the road and the second game of a back to back.  I'm a knicks fan and feel like chucking on them but this feels like a trap game.

What I am loading up on is betting on Philly, embid over 35.5 points and embid over 12.5 points.  After getting slaughter at home last night I kmwo he is going to come out ball dominating.  Can easily see him take 25 shots and 10+ free throws tonight.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 05, 2024, 04:10:28 PM
I don't think this was as much of how well Denver played to how awful the Warriors were in the 4th quarter.  They ended the game on a 25-4 run.  Curry was 1-5 with a monster turnover at the end of the game.  Why in the world would he cross court pass to Wiggins behind the 3 when he had cp3 at the top of the key who shoots way better from 3 than Wiggins.  Just a dumb play almost karma that guided jokers heave in.  Up 18 with less than 7 minutes to go, ypu really have to try hard to lose the game.  This might be one of the early daggers in the Warriors this season.  I wouldn't be surprised if they are sellers at the trade deadline.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (XMR) and other privacy coins at risk of delisting from Binance on: January 04, 2024, 09:22:42 PM
Just another exchange who cares.  I mean I know the access that those platforms give these coins but the wave of CEX will come to an end.  With enough "hacks" people will start to learn these exchanges aren't any good no matter how big they are.  I can see a wave of large DEX's coming together and be the next movement in crypto.  It's around but not as prevalent as it should be.  They need to get more user friendly and then most people will abandon those exchanges.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 04, 2024, 09:19:36 PM
They need to give more focus on their improvement and continue to look for another opportunity to fix their lineups because this is not how it should end for Lebron when he wanted to be recognized as the GOAT in the NBA.

Kobe didn't end well his remaining seasons in the NBA but he was still recognized as one of the best. And I don't think Lebron is better than Kobe, Kobe wasn't even declared as GOAT as there's only one who is, and that is MJ.
Oohhh.. That's going to be another long debate. Cheesy
Well, for me they are GOAT of their own eras. MJ on his time, Kobe on his own, and so do Lebron James. I think that's the safest and most shortened version to avoid more discussions about it. For me though, it's MJ as the best of all these three that I mentioned.

Did anyone watch the game between the Utah Jazz and the Detroit Pistons? It's a battle of offense. Cheesy The score went to a total of 302 points and ended in overtime. Sure, there's an overtime that may have caused the high points but their end-of-regulation score was 276 which is still high. Jazz has Clarkson with 36 points and Markkanen with 31 points. The Pistons have Bogdanovic with 36 points and Cunningham with 31. The regulation was the fun one. I though the Jazz ended it with the Markkanen three-pointer and the Pistons doesn't have a timeout but Alec Burks, damn, a buzzer-beater to tie the game.
In the end, the Jazz still won it.

So part of it mate, it was really a back and forth game between the two and it's unpredictable as who is going to win that game, and it's raining 3 point shot. But then that shot of Alec Burks forcing the OT to give hope to the Pistons that they can manage a win again.

But then again, the Jazz will have to close it out in OT, but if you have bet on the over on this match, you will be lucky to see that your bet has hit already entering the 4th quarter. Hard to compare the GOAT, it's a discussion that has been going on and even Michael himself has his own take about it.

I had the other side.  I had an in game bet of under 273.5. That Alec Burks 29 footer but a nail in the under.  Was a crazy game.  Enjoyed it either way and then once I lost was rooting on Detroit.  Burks coming from the Knicks I always root for anyway, but dude cost me money Sad  lol.  I've watched Detroit play enough to know they shouldn't be losing all these games.  They just need one piece that can get them through the end of game situations and get some fight into them.  They need a defensive presence on that team.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which currency do you prefer to use for BTC/LTC/ETH transactions? on: January 04, 2024, 08:39:06 PM
Using Litecoin to move crypto around is never a bad idea.  Keep crypto in bitcoin than shift to litecoin when ypu want to move crypto and back into bitcoin.  2 problems with that is spread rate between the 2.  And the second and even more important is every move into another currency drives a taxable event at least in the US.  I'd keep some liquid in litecoin but the downward risk is too great to keep too much in LTC.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 04, 2024, 08:02:45 PM
Only 2 games on today but they’re both televised on TNT (and HBO Max I’ve recently learned). Last time the Spurs faced the Bucks Wemby was out so this should be an interesting matchup to watch as Wemby tries to stop Giannis. The Second game between the Warriors and the Nuggets should be a good matchup also, but I’m expecting Denver to win.

Yeah I'm looming forward to it too.  I would imagine if the Bucks get out to a sizable lead which they very well can do, then you won't see much of giannis in the second half.  Back to back road games I'm sure he could use a breather.  All dependent on score though.  Either way I will be tuning in to watch giannis terrorize the paint.  And in the other game it almost seems like a trap game.  All signs point towards Denver dominating this game with gs reeling but I've featured to never bet against steph in prime time.  The lights do something to him.  Should be a good one on his home court.  I'm taking the Bucks-9 and a stab at the GS money line with the odds
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 04, 2024, 07:57:43 PM
Too many NBA games tonight (12 games). Can you guys post your pick for night games. Share the one you think is a sure win. Just want to tail on it. Can't decide which team to pick.

I can't decide which team I will pick. Today's NBA game is unpredictable, just like what happened to the Kings vs. Hornets last night. I can't imagine how the Kings lost to the Hornets with their healthy team and home court advantage. 🤦

That's basketball, or any pro sports you just never know.  With that being said I'm taking the Knicks-9 tonight.  Knicks playing a depleted bulls team who is playing the second game of a back to back.  I don't know what the under is but I think I'm gonna hit the under as well.  The other bet I'm looking at is pacers/bucks over 257.  These 2 teams run and gun when they play each other I expect a high scoring game here.

Hit on all 3.  Bulls looked decent in the first half but I think being on a second night of a back to back killed them in the second.  The Bucks and Pacers scoring machine did not disappoint.  Crazy because 10 years ago I don't think you'd ever see an over under as high as 250 let alone bet the over confidently.  Defenses are terrible nowadays.

No joke I really hope that pk isn't a riddle like his other stuff.  The ultimate R Roullete game.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have we overlooked the many potentials of altcoins? on: January 03, 2024, 08:46:11 PM
A lot of times we have been down so much away from the role altcoins play in the cryptocurrency industry,  because there is no doubt the fact that many times,  we have come face to face with issues and challenges that make us to look for an alternatives,  and which is the reason for altcoins creations already,  such as fees,  congestion and speeds.

These have been most of the challenges that we face in the cryptocurrency industry with majority of the time our preferred coin may face network issues and we need to look for alternatives,  this has made it very important for us to discuss the best possible means to make use of altcoins as alternatives when there be network crisis.

What are the best coins to use at a time when there is network congestion in the main meme pool?

Using litecoin to move bitcoin is a tried and true way to move in and out of positions rather cheaply.  The problem that exist at least for US customers is that every trade triggers a taxable event.  So when you move from bitcoin into litecoin and then to and exchange into another coin you've essentially doubled your taxable responsibilities.  As long as you can track everything cleanly it's not that bad but tax laws make it annoying to do so.
