541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about TON? on: January 11, 2024, 04:15:15 PM
I've invested some money in it and waiting for its growth but it's kinda stable rn. Also I'm wodering should i invest more moeny in it or no. When do you think it will grow and will it grow at all? Really want to hear the opinion of some more experienced traders

I'm too thinking of holding some TON. I missed it on it's early phase. I highly regard the Durov brothers and anything that they bring is worth a thousand dollar.
I tried TON and some of it's dapp. Most of the things are as good as I expected but was not excited by the current fees. If we are paying a dollar worth of fees for a 4 step action when the price of TON is $2, it's not hard to imagine where the fees would be when the price reaches $100. I'm not an expert on how it works but hope the chain would not be an expensive one as larger number of people moves to it.
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why decentralized Storage is cheaper than centralized? on: January 11, 2024, 04:01:30 PM
When it comes to storing data people would look for something that is reliable and long term. I don't mean the decentralized options are less reliable or for a short term but they still have a long way to go to prove they are reliable. Most of the decentralized "cloud storage" or "data archive" have not started to offer the service yet. I checked for storage options and price for filecoin, there were many confusing options and redirects and they finally asked me to fill a form. That's not how people want to buy storage. sia seem to have better interface and it seems we need to install their provided software to start renting the storage but I can't find exact pricing.
543  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why crime are on the rise daily on: January 11, 2024, 03:37:36 PM
It might depend on the places and situation you are. There could be many things that are resulting in increased crime.
1. Overpopulation: This is manly a problem in poor, underdeveloped nations. Lack of education or a negative education results in this. The sources and land are limited but the people's fertility capacity aren't. When there's too many people, there's unemployment, hunger and crime.
2. Power struggle: Political divide, conflict of ideas and hunger for power in politician is affecting Every countries. Politics has the responsibility to hold people together but the political leaders specially in all of democracy are trying to create a divide on general population and hate for opposite party. Even on autocracies, there are fight for control.
3. Immigration: The overpopulation have led to the act of immigration to less populated and more developed areas mostly from the less developed and conflict zones. Initially many countries took this as a good way to get cheap labor as they suffered from labor shortage but now as they see the problem of third world coming to their homes, they are actively trying to restrict it.
Drugs, Guns, lawlessness are all the byproducts of a failing state and lack of drafting and implementation of state policies.
544  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cointelegraph has the worst price analysis articles on: January 11, 2024, 03:04:27 PM
It's hard for beginner traders to trade with bitcoin and altcoins. Many people look for analysis that are written by other people. If you are a newbie trader, I suggest you to never take seriously what Cointelegraph authors write about bitcoin and altcoin analysis. Cointelegraph often posts the worst crypto price analysis articles - https://cointelegraph.com/search?query=price%2520analysis

I was actively reading their articles. They always mention what price is the support level, what price will cause the bearish moment and what will cause the bull moment. Never ever rely on their advice because practice showed me that their analysis is not correct.

There are some tools that helps us decide support level and resistance and at most times they are a multiple of them.
One of the easiest way of finding the support level and resistance is to look at the chart, at what point has the coin often bounced back and at what point it tipped in price. Further we can draw lines connecting the highs and lows to determine the changing support and resistance and finally there are moving averages which often acts as the levels. There are multiple of ways to decide them but you can't just fake them. You need to consider the basis the points are decided for the specific claim.
545  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: My transaction is stuck since 8 days please help on: January 11, 2024, 01:38:30 PM
I made some bitcoin withdrawal from block.io wallet
It has neither reached destination neither it is refunded to my block.io wallet what should I do
https://sochain.com/tx/BTC/d1cd640d8e6700c4a3d993f547a39c8da9eda11974b51322fed24ede6d24fa71

There's a congestion for bitcoin transfers at the moment. There's not much choice you have. The transfer amount is small and the fees used 19sats per byte is lower than half of current transaction fees. The best thing to do would be to wait for the congestion to ease. There are ways of speeding the transaction by increasing the fees but the amount is too small for the hassle. Current average fees are over $10. Bitcoin is nearly non usable low amounts.
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look out for a good Altcoin and buy now! on: January 11, 2024, 01:01:42 PM
Bitcoin ETF has been approved which is a good new for other Altcoin as well. As we all know, since Bitcoin is the pioneer of cryptocurrencies if there is a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin it will also affect the price of other cryptocurrencies. For instance if by the end of the year Bitcoin hit the target of $100k definelty other altcoins will experince a huge increase in their price. Bitcoin bull run is as well altcoin bull run.

My candid advises to people who do not have the opportunity to buy bitcoin, is to find an altcoin that they can buy and hodl. If it is difficult to know which altcoin to buy, then I'll just list a few here i think i can spend some bucks on. They include Solana, Ethereum, BnB and Doge.

Let's put some effort and hope for the best to happen.

Bitcoin ETF have provided legality for the existence and use of bitcoin and in some degree to altcoins. Now the traditional investors can easily include bitcoin to their portfolio without having the trouble to know about bitcoin and how it works. This would certainly increase the interest of normal people towards crypto and if bitcoin proved to a better investment than most other ETFs, which it had in the future means there'd be an upcoming bull on crypto market.
547  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Between placing a wife on monthly allowance and opening business for her on: January 11, 2024, 01:57:58 AM
Talking about my personal life, my wife is educated and qualified. We lived a year together after our marriage. We dated 4 years prior to that.
I never had to think about what she should do and it was her choice. She wanted to have her career. She joined a job according to her qualification and now we are 650kms away and are not going to see each other for quite a few months. I'm too mostly busy with my job and have 5 min video call in the morning and night. Surely not a ideal situation but we are working on transferring to the same place when possible.
548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Things in Binance Under New CEO - What are your thoughts? on: January 10, 2024, 04:15:14 PM
I have been using binance for quite a long time for now and it has provided me a flawless exchange environment with one of the lowest trade fees and withdrawal fees. The US SEC fiasco made no difference on how I've been using the exchange. I had followed CZ on twitter and now his X's have decreased in X. Other than that CZ made no different in my real or virtual life. There's been a general tendency of me focusing more on DEX than any Centralized exchange these days but that has nothing to do with binance. Preference on BSC network than even cheaper Polygon could be a bias but I'm not sure.
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: “X” users are struggling as Crypto Scams in Ads,officials have no clear respons on: January 10, 2024, 03:45:18 PM

Crypto scammers are using X ads to trick others into visiting websites that can steal their cryptocurrency or trick them with fake giveaways.

X shows ads based on what users are interested in, like many other platforms. Even though Elon Musk mentioned that YouTube has a lot of scam ads, it turns out that X has a problem too. More and more often, X is displaying ads that try to scam people into cryptocurrency-related frauds.

These scams might include links to Telegram channels that try to manipulate the value of a cryptocurrency (pump and dump), fake pages that try to steal personal information (phishing), or links to websites that can steal all the money from a connected wallet (crypto drainers).

https://www.cryptocrit.xyz/2024/01/x-users-are-struggling-as-crypto-scams.html

There are scammers everywhere. It's not only X but also Facebook, Youtube and wherever the scammers can find a gullible person. The only way of stopping them is through scam literacy. They would only stop when the advertising cost or effort on creating the scam is more expensive than the amount scammed.
I personally  have fell into such telegram pump group scammed that really looked able to pump coin to a high value, excited about my profit, tried to sell but than I found out that the coin is not sell-able and I have been scammed.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Master node Experience - worth it? on: January 10, 2024, 03:31:21 PM
There are many types of masternodes and they vary on their operation requirements. Depending on how much powerful virtual machine you buy, it may accommodate multiple of masternodes. There might be limitation of numbers of masternodes by IP or another limiting factor could  be the price of staked coin to start the node. The yield rate of masternodes vary and as they provide return on the same coin you are holding, sometimes the inflation wins over the profit. For calculating the profit on masternodes, I prefer site like https://masternodes.online/
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a new trend of Altcoin Bull run? on: January 10, 2024, 02:40:51 PM
We have often witnessed in the bull run that Bitcoin's value increases and once it becomes stable at a certain limit that's when bull run officially starts for Altcoins and we have seen same cycle in previous two bull runs. But, this time we are witnessing a different scenario as we have seen increase in the price of Bitcin but it's yet to reach ATH and it's still continuing to increase but Altcoin's are going bonkers and having more than 100% increase and it's not limited to few but most of the Altcoin is following similar trend.

Should be consider this as new trend wherein Altcoins will have bullrun before Bitcoin? Or this is once in a blue moon thing? It cannot be a bull trap since it's happening for multiple Altcoins.

Crypto market is creating new precedent every time. While it still is an accepted fact that there are no real movements on the market unless bitcoin is moving, the alts too have now gained individualized movements depending on their fundamentals and market supply and demand. The unprecedented growth of SOL in a short time is one example how even a large capped coin like SOL can outperform bitcoin a multiple of times. We have seen such growth in low capped pump and dump alts but not in a coin as huge as Solana.
552  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: January 09, 2024, 02:54:31 PM
This would depend on the circumstances and nature of business. For most of the business, starting from scratch would give you more options but it would take time and probably much larger promotions to get regular customers. Buying a business have less flexibility but if you can provide similar or better service and product than the last winner than you would start to have a good stream of money right from the start.
Someone who want to grow and make the business huge with time and money at hand should start from scratch but the people who want a livelihood from the business now could perform better with buying established business.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I used a mixer and then got banned from exchange. Now what? on: January 09, 2024, 02:26:52 PM
So I week ago I used a mixer to send .1 eth from one wallet to another.  The wallets I used have never been sent to or from a CEX but did have the connection indirectly.  So yeah I just got banned from my main exchange that I hardly use anyways but would need it to go fiat on/offramp.  So is anything connected to this wallet tainted now?  Will I be able to use a different CEX for on/off ramp?  I am american btw.  What do I do now?

Exchanges might have tracked you withdrawing the balance to a mixer address or the ban could be a unconnected one. If you are using the same wallet to send and receive from mixer than that would not work. But if you mixed and sent to a new address, the new coins should be good. Just stop using the old flagged addresses and empty the balance using a way that would not track to you. Get in touch with the exchange and find the real reason for ban and follow any instruction they might provide for staying safe in the future.
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find new meme coins early? on: January 08, 2024, 05:10:07 PM
Twitter is full of meme(shit)coins, but most of them are dead on delivery. It's really hard to find memecoin that will be pumped

You're right, we can find most of them on twitter, however, there a much to be discovered on their websites and other apps that enlist ICOs, all altcoins aren't shitcoins, there are many that pumps, but before we can arrived at them being a reliable project, we need to make a certain level of research on them, know about the project and be satisfied with the research we made before making an investment on them.

Another place where meme coin does their initial launch is pinksale. I haven't personally participated in any pinksale launch but I look them to find new meme coin which when starting being sold on pancakeswap or relevant dex could be grabbed at low price and held for a short term and sold at a higher price for profit. Participating on the launchpool mostly have a holding period and we know most of these memecoin would be dead by a month or two.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitwise NFT. on: January 08, 2024, 02:54:35 PM
This could be achieved but it would have no obvious advantage than just storing your coins safely. And unlike coin, you won't be able to break this NFT and if sold, should be sold as such and if there's a demand, at a higher price. It would be similar to any other NFT with its lower price determined by frozen coins.
NFT too are digital so are coins, associating coins with a known NFT would destroy any privacy related to it and would be a taxable asset every-time the transaction is made.
556  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum: send transactions status Unconfirmed after 12 hours on: January 08, 2024, 02:05:15 PM
Bitcoin fees were huge this week with several of transactions pending. The congestion seems to be easing today but not sure if there would still be another spike.
Average fees has decreased below $10, which is still large. Considering the corrective price, we could get a smooth mempool this week. If you are not in a hurry you could wait for the congestion to ease. I check the current average fees before broadcasting a transaction from my wallet.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Uniswap reaping people off on: January 08, 2024, 12:34:42 PM
I have withdrawn and trade ETH from MEXC multiple times already and I am never charged more than $3 but when I swap ETH ERC 20 on Uniswap the gas fee is almost always $10 and few times over $10, why is it like this? Are DEXs suppose to be more costly normal centralized exchanges?

As people already explained, there is significant differences on how CEX and DEX works. Most of the trades in centralized exchanges are just adjustment on balance sheets and no real transaction occurs. But when you are doing a exchange in Decentralized exchange it could go through one or multiple transactions. And I agree that Ethereum network is about unusable, when it comes to DEX, I prefer to use BSC, many exchange even allow ETH (BEP token) withdrawal to BSC wallets.
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins profits or bank profits, which best? on: January 07, 2024, 05:02:42 PM
Bank investors have more certainty because there capital is completely safe but they give 8-10% annual profits to the investors of per year. But it is comparatively less in terms of profits.

On the other hand you will get constant profits from crypto as if you are experienced in trading then daily profits is possible. Otherwise you can get profits by investing. However crypto investment puts your capital at greater risk (main point).

It's a good strategy to diversify. So, it's recommended to keep your savings in bank accounts as well invest in fruitful sectors like crypto.
I have for some time maintained a spreadsheet on the buy price and current price of my crypto holdings and compared it to savings and FD on banks.
Most of the entries were on red side but some of my investment performed so well that overall my results are on the green side. i.e. my overall crypto performance has outyielded bank savings but the difference is not huge.
559  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 06, 2024, 05:17:54 PM
Trading and gambling are two different things. In gambling you depend on your luck. It's no chance of you winning or losing, which you don't know. But if you invest in trading you may get a good profit. But futures trade is a game of leverage. If you start trading with excess leverage without doing a good analysis and understanding about leverage, then you will surely lose. The calculation of futures trade is that the more leverage, the more risk.

Well said but when people are risking something in expectation of a higher reward with not the result not in their control, it's a gamble.
In simple trading or investment, you can hold the coin that has lost its value in anticipation of it getting its ath on the next  bull run. But in future, there's no hope if things turned out a bit different than you predicted. Another similarity between futures trading and gambling is you lose all when things go wrong. There are variations on both where you get something back but it's minute.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto community make sure Logan Paul pay the price for his scam on: January 06, 2024, 04:58:28 PM
He is trying to spend $2.3 million to get the sold NFTs for the original price but whoever is accepting the deal has to waive off their rights to the claim against him in the future and for me its really an escape strategy orchestrated by him to get away with what he have done and pay just a small chunk than what he will pay in the penalty if he sued.

Logan Paul to ‘buy back’ CryptoZoo NFTs a year after promising refunds

The program would give NFT holders 0.1 ETH for each eligible NFT, but they would also need to waive any current or future claims against Paul.

YouTuber and social media influencer Logan Paul is set to refund certain disgruntled investors of his once ambitious CryptoZoo nonfungible token (NFT) game — a year after he promised NFT buyers recourse.

Logan said the “buy back” program will be funded by $2.3 million he is personally committing and will involve buying back Base Eggs and Base Animals at the original purchase price “for every person who intended to play CryptoZoo.”

He was all into the hype and spoke more than what he should have. It doesn't mean he would have lost  the lawsuit but it's a win win for both the parties to settle it outside of the court as it could have taken than more than what they have said now. And more so for Logan Paul for his face save.
It's also a moral for all the youtubers and viewers that they should be careful about financial advice and promotions.
