541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third graders and Bitcoin on: May 14, 2023, 09:50:05 PM
It's great to start early but lets be honest we all know that at those age kids just want to have fun playing.
We all know about saving up money at an early age but most of us didn't even bother to do it we buy what we want it's just the same for those kids,
we could introduce it to them but only those who are interested would really get into it.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is Satoshi? on: May 14, 2023, 05:33:02 PM
Bitcoin network has been under attack and the results has been very high transaction fees which has made many people who use it for transactions to use alternatives. This is challenging to the vision of Satoshi when he created Bitcoin for use also as currency as many people will criticize the network as unfit for transactions if accepted for use and everyone starts to use it. There is no way that Satoshi is not aware of the current situation if still alive, do you think what is happening right now is enough to draw Satoshi out to still make some changes or improvemens annonymously?
First of it is not the first time that the transaction fee for Bitcoin has been expensive or high, second what would Satoshi do? the creator has been silent for so long even in the past controversy so why would the creator show up now just because of the transaction fee?
And we could use alternative coins that is why they had been created for events or circumstances like this (only my opinion) those alt-coins are there because Bitcoin doesn't have it all.
543  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: May 10, 2023, 08:31:27 PM
If you have a regular income you should really start to save up as much as you could to secure your future, specially for those who works and wants to retire at an early age.
Save up and invest any amount each time you get your salary so that you would have an extra income and funds for your future.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: with the high transaction fees btc makes me stronger to hold btc. on: May 10, 2023, 02:25:18 PM
As we all know lately, lots of people are transacting BTC and causing traffic jams because of the many queues for BTC transactions, and BTC transaction fees are expensive if you want to be fast.

And I, as a btc investor who is still a beginner, in my opinion, with expensive btc transaction fees, I see this as a positive thing because I have the following reasons.

1: having expensive btc transaction fees makes me stronger to hold on to btc because I don't want to waste my money on expensive transaction fees.

2: my goal of investing in btc is for a long term investment so with expensive transaction fees
makes me stronger holding btc, because my goal is to invest in btc for the long term.

i want to hear your opinion,,,
and are you freaking out about the high btc transaction fees...?

but in my opinion if transacting btc it would be better to use a cheap transaction method.
Well I could somehow relate to this whenever the transaction fee for Bitcoin is high, I would rather hold it than to send them out or use them.
But if my Bitcoin is already at a trading site I could alwasy use alt-coin for faster transaction and lower fee.
But for those who are really in need for cash and their Bitcoin is on their wallet they don't really have a choice but to pay the right price for their transaction, I once set up a lower transaction fee just to save money and it end up taking weeks just to confirm.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take good care of yourselves on: May 09, 2023, 11:31:04 PM
Most people tend to ignore it in order to earn, I used to question those people who still goes to work even though they aren't feeling well and as time goes by I realized that not everyone has the privilege of skipping work to rest.
Some of us needs to attend our work even if we're not feeling well cause we are just earning enough money to survive to pay bills and put food on our table.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Awareness: Bitcoin logos on T-Shirts on: May 09, 2023, 09:35:09 PM
I have a friend who also did the samething, actually it feels nice and somehow proud to wear a t-shirt with a cryptocurrency logo since other could recognize it, and there are times that some stranger or workmates would actually open up a topic and talk to you about crypto when they see the t-shirt.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Aliens accept BTC, What about newborns? on: May 09, 2023, 08:25:57 PM
Let's say we run into some other species will they accept a 95% premined supply?
Yes bitcoin is 95% premine to anyone coming into contact with it for the first time today.

Chances are they are more advanced than us let's say

Do you think the aliens will accept bitcoin

What about newborns?
Let's say that they do exist, why would they accept Bitcoin?
Would you accept something that doesn't really have a value to you?
Let's just put it this way you would go to some native or those who know nothing about money do you think they would accept your Fiat when you give it to them as a payment?
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 08, 2023, 05:47:27 PM
I also think that it is better to keep my money on crypto rather than Bank, it is not just about security but also the return is far more greater than holding it on bank.
The only thing that concerns me is that how would we explain it when the time comes that we have to exchange our crypto into Fiat and it is illegal in our country?
I am sure that it would be somehow get didected or it would be suspicious.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin succeeds on: May 08, 2023, 02:27:59 PM
The prediction of bitcoin's price made by Balaji Srinivasan, a former CTO of Coinbase (1 btc = 1 million USD), is unattainable for the majority of individuals. ~snip~
We all know that it doesn't happen that way and this kind of statement is just for a show.
Those who have been in crypto for so long would know or at least heard those kind of words so many times before, but if you would look at the current price and chart of Bitcoin you would know that reaching that high would be impossible in just 90 days I think even in 1 or 2 years.
It didn't even touch $100K yet and for how many years and they are already stating million in just 90 days?
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why gambling and mixing called bad actors in bitcoin on: May 05, 2023, 12:24:54 PM
From my experience and observations, I noticed both Bitcoin mixing and online gambling using Bitcoin are mostly regarded as bad actors in Bitcoin despite both being the highest Bitcoin adopters and having the largest Bitcoin volume in transactions and services.
Secondly, if Gambling and Bitcoin mixing services are called bad actors, what about centralized exchanges are they also perceived as bad actors in Bitcoin?
Mixing is considered as a bad actor for crypto because it is also being used by illegal activities, like money laundering.
While gambling, I think we all know why it is considered as bad actor for crypto, but like OP has mention this 2 played a huge part for cryptocurrency adaptation, I think there are tons of crypto investor or user because of those two.

552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do with bitcoin? on: April 27, 2023, 09:51:21 PM
I am planning on holding my crypto as long as I could and until I had enough to buy the things that I want and need, actually the price doesn't matter for me if I have enough crypto to buy what I need and want then I would sell it to achieve my goals.
I didn't invest here to just hold it, I invsted in order to gain profit to achieve my goals.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What a physical Bitcoin could look like? on: April 27, 2023, 12:22:49 PM
Thoughts on this. Now at this time. It would be almost impossible to make a physical Bitcoin. But with advances in technology it could be possible. Maybe if you have just whole numbers of Bitcoin, eg 1 Bitcoin.
i am thinking its possible into a almost like a paper note format, with bar codes etc on it. It would be centralized in physical form almost, but i think it could be possible to actually have a physical aspect that could be moved in the real world.

What are your thoughts on what a physical Bitcoin could look like and an idea on how it would work?
First of I think it wouldn't really be Bitcoin at all they are just going to copy the name, the price keeps on moving and each whole coin contains a 100M sats and every sats have a value, so if they would make a physical coin I think it would be Sats or Bits.
And if it would ever happen then I guess others would just see it as a collector's item, not as a currency.
554  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 26, 2023, 10:07:11 PM
As long as there's a risk involved and it is some kind of prediction, win or lose type of games, then I would always consider it as a form of gambling.
Sometimes even if it's not directly money as long as it have a value and it is being risk then yes it is gambling.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Bitcoiner still support the use of centralized exchanges? on: April 26, 2023, 05:23:23 PM
I did some research on Bitcoin because I was interested in it, and I discovered that the key principles of Bitcoin are peer-to-peer, anonymity, pseudonymity, decentralization, and operating without a middleman to ensure that Bitcoiners can have financial freedom. However, despite knowing that Bitcoiners adhere to these tenets, why do some Bitcoiners act contrary to them? Why do they continue to support centralized exchanges, use them, and retain their Bitcoin there?
The only reason why I support or still keep on using centralized on Bitcoin or crypto is due to safely withdraw or convert my crypto into Fiat.
But if there would be other way for me to securely withdraw or convert crypto into Fiat without doing it in person then I would stop using centralized platforms.
556  Economy / Economics / Re: Look for what to invest, not what to eat on: April 25, 2023, 05:20:39 PM
I don't know why some people in this platform are looking for what to eat at the moment, not know that they can invest in a potential projects that will put food on their table, and they will not lack what to eat and what to spend in future. I saw some message in the Bitcointalk.org where some users are trying to sell their account just to get what to eat not knowing that they can use that account to work to get a huge capital that will bring them out from poverty, and make food surplus in their home. I knew some senior members in this forum that started using member rank to work before they get to legendary to spread many investments around the country, because they didn't look for what to eat at the moment than to work hard to used their opportunities to invested in BTC before they became who they are today.
Will you invest now or you will be like that person that is looking for what to eat? It will be favourable if you can change that attitude of selling what will make you great in future just because of what will survive you at the moment. No way you will invest in BTC today and you will not have something good to eat because, investment is like a seed planted in a due season to expect something good in the future. Is it a good thing to invest or is good to continue looking for what to eat?
What do you think.
It is different for each of us, some of us are in need for fast cash so even though they need and know that they could earn with it they are selling it.
You wouldn't understand it until you are on their position, I even once made the same decision I sold something that I know I could use to earn for a long run, but due to some circumstances I needed to let it go and sell it for a fast cash.
557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Little Bitcoin investment becoming something else on: April 25, 2023, 01:06:27 AM
I think the best thing to do right now since you're confuse and already earned some profit, why not play safe?
Take out your capital and leave your profit in crypto? and when you feel that the price is already good for you then invest back the capital that you've secured.
Whenever you invest on something always have a plan so you wouldn't be so confused on it when things got hard.
Make some plan on how long would you hold it, what is the ideal price for you to take profit and if you would take profit would you sell them all off in just one time or would you sell some of your asset whenever it reach the price that you've set.
What is the maximum amount of lose that you are willing to take, what price are you going to cut off when the price starts to drop down.
558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do when there is a bear run in Bitcoin on: April 24, 2023, 11:02:56 PM
If the bear market only just started, it's smart to sell, even at a loss, because you can then buy back cheaper. Problem is, you can never tell a beginning of a bear market from a simple correction that happen during bull market. And these correction can be massive. During the last cycle we saw the price crashing by 50%, which is normally a clear sign of a bearish trend, but that time the price recovered and established a new ATH.

I agree with this but the problem is as you've mention it is difficult for most traders to know if it is just a drop and pump scenario or a real bear market is coming.
For me if you really believe that the price would still increase then just hold your crypto if you could invest more then invest rather than risking the asset that you already have.
I am not against it actually it is a good idea to accumulate more while spending less but the problem is that we don't know if it would continue to drop or it would rise up after selling your crypto and waiting for the price to go lower.
559  Economy / Economics / Re: marry rich: marry fiat rich or crypto rich, which is better? on: April 24, 2023, 11:00:40 AM
Marry someone who would be there for you no matter what,
Don't settle because of money, you would marry someone because their rich? how about the way they treat you or other people? does that even matter to you?
Marry someone who could help you and understand you, who could be your peace not because of financial status but your mental peace.
If your just going to marry someone because their rich what would you do if they happen to have a rough time and end up losing their asset?
560  Economy / Economics / Re: SPENDING MORE THAN YOU EARN on: April 23, 2023, 05:41:54 PM
Base on one of my recent post titled"Common Money Mistakes Anyone Can Make"(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5448160.msg62062701#msg62062701). One of the serious point there is SPENDING MORE THAN YOU EARN. I believe this should be discussed as a separate topic as it's a very crucial part of ones financial life. Spending more than you earn make ones keeps accumulating debt from expenditure before getting income. This isn't good for ones financial life. With this you hardly save money but keep accumulating debt. It’s better to avoid debt if you can. That way you’ll avoid paying interest on what you owe. Below are ways one can easily stop spending more than you earn:

~snip~
It's good for one to satisfy his/her desire when making purchase of items but this shouldn't cause issues in ones lifestyle. The key to stop spending too much money is to create better money habits in your daily life. But I know that’s easier said than done. Putting one or all of these ideas into action, helps in building a healthy spending habit. Take control of your spending today and you’ll reap financial rewards for years to come.
Actually I am not spending more than what I am earning,
But I am spending more than I should, I want to change that.
I have been busy on working and I use that excuse to cut off sometime to cook for myself and buy the foods that I want even though it is quite pricey.
I also tend to buy more than I should whenever I go to the grocery stores.
I want to save up so I am starting by cooking my own food and hope that it would have a great result.
P.S I am not doing it just to save money now I know that most of the fast food is really unhealthy and I am having some health issue so I want to work on it now, it is like hitting two birds in one stone (Eating healthy and saving money).
